Dennis beat up Johnny for threatening Sharon, Johnny then phoned someone and they stabbed Dennis on new years eve

Dennis battered Johnny Allen in the back office of the club. He almost battered him to death but didn't. Johnny managed to reach his mobile phone and arranged to have mini-Den nobbled. He died of stab wounds in the square
