Trying to think of something that doesn't involve DJ's and church halls! You guys are a wealth of good ideas and I was hoping someone would be able to inspire me [beeging/wheedling emoticon]

Paintballing?

Makeover sleepover?

Is there a roller skating place nearby? We've had roller-disco parties which have been a big hit.

My dd just turned 13 and we just had a family day out, as she said she wouldn't know who in her group of friends would be speaking to each other on the given day of the party so she'd rather not bother! It was great- shopping, a movie and a good meal- I was quite relieved

i'm thinking pamper and pizza.

face masks, make up , nail varnish, movies

either a sleep over i you are v.v.v. brave ( i did it ONCE) or parents collect them at a later time like 9.30

the coolest - would be a concert or a play - a cool musical or something - costly granted - but at least they will be occupied and it requires attendance rather than any real supervision by you

camping! - dont know how big your garden is - or whether you feel its safe enough ( depends on your location i suppose i mean perhaps the middle of moss side manchester would elicit a different response than a town in sussex iyswim)

but i reckon that would be a little independance, they can still do the pamper thing in a tent.

you could supervise a camp fire, bbq, marshmellows etc. radio on in the back ground

make your own t-shirts (tye dye / fabric paints etc), make your own pizza (they roll out dough, you supply toppings, they please themselves) or is that too young?

I rented a makeup girl from Mac for the afternoon once - just went up to her in House of Frazer and offered her £50 for the session. Was fab. That plus bbq/music at house - would have been even better if had set up mock photoshoot as well (white wall, someone will have a light and reflector, tripod and digital camera).

Paint balling is fun or go-carting, quad biking, Body shop party/makeover, a BBQ with music or bowling followed by McDonalds or Pizza hut?

We've just done a murder mystery for 12 year old dd - was fab!

Am on third teen, now 13, and, thank God, a boy, so just hired a indoor football place, had a game of football, gave them all a piece of birthday cake and went home.

He has much lower expectations being the third child, with tired and old parents (but also gets away with a lot more for the same reasons)

We did quasar and bowling for 13th birthday parties. Which all my kids loved.

Depends on your garden but we are having an bouncy package set up in the garden for my dd who is 13 in a few weeks. Adult sized bouncy castle, assault course and whacker things. Her friends are really looking forward to it and she's pleased as it's totally different to any of the parties her friends have had.

I think we've done film/pizza/sleepover, bowling/pizza/sleepover, theme park/sleepover (fave) and waterpark/sleepover. No more than 5 friends.
