My daughter will kill me................

if whe knows I am talking about this. dd1 (11) has finally started her periods (they have been threatening for what feels the last 3 years!!). Anyway, she is really tiny for her age, and I am struggling to find a pad small enough for her. We have tried the thinnest Always type pads, but they are soooooo long!!!! Could anyone tell me if there are pads designed for 'young ladies' or just shortish but thin ones??

You could always trim them. Or even cut them in half if they're really huge for her and get double value.

Oh, and I know she is not 'officially' a teen, but feel this is a teen-like problem! And anyhow, she has acted like a teen from when she was 18mths.

My sister is 12 and I have definatley seen sanitary products aimed at young teens - pink with funky design - don't know if tampons or towels though

Have you looked at Kotex Normal size (the ones illustrated with 2 drops I think - long time since I've used them as I'm 38 weeks pg so my memory might be failing me!). They aren't massive. Much sympathy as I started when I was 10 and had to wear looped towels with belt (stick ons came in a year or 2 later) and they were massive - went half way up my back!!

Thanks both. lol gingernut! Remember mum having those!!!!! Sounds like some kind of chastity belt - perhaps it was??

Wallace I'll have a look out for those. I thought there may be some kind of product on the market but was not sure. I think if she has her 'own' special pads, it may make her a little happier about it all. (here's hoping anyway...poor thing.)

my dd (also 11) uses Always Ultra Thin - poor little mites. She's been having them since April but like your dd they have been threatening for years

Lillets do a teen range

My dd 14 uses lillets teen range, they are quite thin and some have flowers etc. not great if she's pretty heavy though.

I think Kotex does a teen range too. My dd never liked pads and has used tampons from about her third period as her periods are very heavy. She uses the Tampax Compak.
