19 yr old daughter sacked for stealing(two cakes) from good job, recently left uni as not doing the coursework, sleeps all day, has mild depression, doesnt want to talk about it. how do i (dad) approach her?

I doubt going in hard will work or even having a chat tbh.
I think you treat her like an adult. Don't give her money, phone or buy clothes or toiletries. Don't do her laundry either. Say she needs to sign on and look for work. She needs to see reality for what it is and work it out herself. It'll be hard to do though.

she needs 2 talk, though she may not want 2 talk to dad directly about her mistakes.

Find emotionally neutral ways to talk, even if it's just about the weather or neighbour's noisy dog.
