I'm gonna answer the questions about the newest generation which baffle you the most.

Okay!

Why do some teenagers get nose rings?

Chocolate123 Wed 19-Oct-16 15:07:21

Their right to entitlement for everything?grin I know nothing they know it all? Should I keep going???

HairsprayBabe Wed 19-Oct-16 15:10:22

Why does my 17yo brothers room smell like a wet dog?

PiscisTerra Wed 19-Oct-16 15:12:23

rogueantimatter. It really does just look cool to some people. No hidden meaning

Chocolate. Teens feel entitled to things because for a lot of them we just assume that everyone is entitled to it. They take many things as a given, even if it isn't consciously done.
Know it all behavior comes from wanting to be better at something than their parents. If there's something to be better at, the chance is taken.
Keep going if you'd like.

Hairspray. He probably keeps old clothes somewhere that he's forgotten about. Potentially a few "odd" socks

HairsprayBabe Wed 19-Oct-16 15:14:44

Gee you are right I never would have thought of that with out you hmm

What percentage of teens in your opinion/experience like jazz?

FurryDogMother Wed 19-Oct-16 15:23:24

Why do teens seem to think that they have more experience of being teens than their parents do?

PiscisTerra Wed 19-Oct-16 15:24:16

Rogue, it's a pretty low percentile. I'll be nice and say about 15%
But only about 10 would actively listen. It's lost relevance

GetAHaircutCarl Wed 19-Oct-16 15:25:27

Why would any teen want to hang out on Mumsnet?

Why is he/she not busy playing FIFA (whilst watching a YouTube clip of someone playing FIFA)? Or watching Friends for the eleventy millionth time? Or looking pitifully in the fridge for something 'good'? Or going to that popular destination 'out'?

PiscisTerra Wed 19-Oct-16 15:27:30

Why be on mumsnet?
Because it's a slow work day and I felt like it.
There's more to life than FIFA

HairsprayBabe Wed 19-Oct-16 15:27:59

I think it is half term in some places atm Haircut explains a lot of the nonsense on here recently...

PiscisTerra Wed 19-Oct-16 15:30:26

Wouldn't know. You get to be this thread's top fassio though. So that's good

rogueantimatter Wed 19-Oct-16 15:32:31

Lost relevance ? Jazz relies on improvisation and is frequently fused with rock/electro acoustic/orchestral/hip-hop/rap and /or trad music. Sax has become an extremely popular instrument to learn.

Why must music be 'relevant'? What should it be relevant to?

rogueantimatter Wed 19-Oct-16 15:33:24

What's a fassio?

PiscisTerra Wed 19-Oct-16 15:33:50

It's just not relevant to the new generation.
Nobody is interested anymore. Feels bad man.

PiscisTerra Wed 19-Oct-16 15:34:24

Fassio is Jamaican slang. Basically means a bitch

NovemberInDailyFailLand Wed 19-Oct-16 15:34:42

How old are you, Piscis? ;)

FannyFifer Wed 19-Oct-16 15:36:45

Are you from Jamaica?

PiscisTerra Wed 19-Oct-16 15:38:15

November. Why does it matter
Fanny, nah. But "yutes" love to incorporate it into speech

rogueantimatter Wed 19-Oct-16 15:38:19

My teenager loves listening to and playing jazz. Hard bop, fast bop, funk, big band. It's very relevant to him and (some of) his mates.

Do you like Christine and the Queens?

PiscisTerra Wed 19-Oct-16 15:39:56

That's good. You keep your teen into that kinda stuff and maybe they'll do the same one day.
And I can't say I do Rogue
