Nitrous Oxide fears

Hi, my son is 14 - year 10. He came home yesterday after going out with his friends. He did not look "right" was a little absent, forgetting what he was saying. I asked him where he had been and he said he'd been for a walk with his friends (teens don't walk, they get lifts). He went upstairs and fell asleep. When I woke him his eyes were like pinholes. I asked him what he had taken. He started saying he hadn't done anything. But I KNEW he had. Well this morning I found a nitrous oxide canister. Frankly this terrified me. He has a new friend at school who was excluded from his last school and I am pretty sure he got it from him. I am not blaming the other kid as my DS has his own mind. But how do I deal with this? I'd like to warn the school and I would also like to tackle this with my son. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you

bollock his sorry druggie arse. Then remove all privileges; that's everything except food, shelter, clothing, education. No internet except strictly supervised homework, no lifts, no new anything.

School will want 2 know. Ours had a drugs awareness evening recently, and NO2 got mentioned.

Since we usually get NO2 in labour, I don't find it that scarey. Would love to pin mine down with embarrassing "So you think you're clever but Mom knows EXACTLY what you've been up to" chat. And a discussion about "Was that really fun? Why would you want to do that again?"

I'm really sorry but to me it sounds like something else rather (or possibly as well as nitrous oxide). Nitrous Oxide acts quickly but also leaves the body quickly so pin prick pupils maybe caused by another substance.
I hope I'm wrong and another poster will tell me this v quickly. In the meantime can you look at a website such as Ask Frank?

What SMPWC makes sense, NO2 should be short acting.
New psychoactive substances? Then you don't know what crud they've had. :(
