What have your dds done to celebrate their 13th birthday?

Dd is quite old in the year so we only have 3 weeks to sort her birthday once they go back to school.

She'd really like to go horse riding on the beach but only one of her friends can ride to a similar standard and a couple have never been near a horse so she realises that's not going to work.

She has a small group of friends who are all pretty similar to her - quiet, not particularly street-wise.

So far her celebration shortlist is film and meal/sleepover or going to Thorpe park for the day - there'll be six of them.

Any other ideas? As she's not 100% sold on either of those ...

DD had a couple of friends over, they made pizza and watch movies. They idea was that they would sleep over and we would take them on an outing the next day. In the end only one slept over and we took them sledding.

A Miranda party with half a dozen friends.
Made Vegete-pals and fruit friends. Watched one of the episodes and then played Twister. Best party ever Grin

dd is 13 in September. She's going shopping in the next town with a few friends (we provide a bit of spending money for each of them), then lunch at Prezzo's (dp and myself are graciously allowed to eat with them) and then back home for a sleepover.

It doesn't sound very exciting to me, but she did the same thing for the last 2 birthdays and wants to do it again.

Dd2 was 13 last week and went to an Italian restaurant with ten friends. We met them there to get them seated then she texted when they were nearly finished so we could go back and pay the bill. happy hour so it was very resonable Two friends came back for a sleep over then they had a morning at the beach.

DD had 5 friends meet her at a salon where they all got pedicures. I had some yummy nibbles to pass 'round as they waited for their toes to dry. Eveyone then came back to ours (via 2 cars) for a meal, movie, cake and sleepover. Gave them breakfast the next morning, and all were collected by 10AM.

DD had a camping sleepover - fire, marshmallows, pillow fights etc. They all had a great time, I had a hotwater bottle and lots of blankets (birthday in March!)

My DD went shopping at the Trafford Centre with a couple of friends. We took them but obviously were not deemed fit to walk around with them. For the best really, poor DP does not enjoy shopping and teen shops such as the oddly dark Hollister are not for him.

We gave her friends some spending money each and then met for lunch. We were graciously allowed to eat with them as pp mentioned Grin Friends slept over that evening too.

Do you mind asking how much spending money you gave the friends?

Mine all just had friends round - from memory, I think there was the odd friend stop over.
I think both ds, and dd1 decided to go out in the garden and all sit around a campfire, chatting.

You could do the scavenger hunt at the mall. Fun and can be pretty successful. Most kids I've heard of doing this give it the thumbs up :)
