How can I help dd?

Dd has exams coming up and while she says she is not anxious she has difficulty breathing - I remember having this as a teen, a feeling of not getting enough air into your lungs? It's a horrible feeling :-(

My dd is right in the middle of her GCSE's. She's always been anxious about exams. I got her some Bach's Rescue Remedy. I don't know whether it works or has a placebo effect, but it's made a difference to her state of mind, so either way its all good for us. Its completely herbal and safe for all ages. I used it when I was pregnant too.

She was also taught some breathing exercises to use when she feels stressed. They do work. She has to slow her breathing right down and breath deeply. The heart rate drops noticeably. Try Googling it.

Your poor dd. have a look at mindfulness apps- headspace is good. Anything to help her relax. Singing also helps! We have had mama Mia and lady gaga in the car in the past- frozen??

just re read, think I'm off the mark, sorry.

My dd has that too tho, she sometimes takes a few goes to get a deep breath. I do think that sub consciously with her its connected to anxiety

I'm not sure of the exact details, but its basically breathe in for a count of 7 and out for 11. It's effective as its distracting and slows down breathing.
