Hiya everyone, about 3 weeks ago I decided to get my daughter an iphone5 on contracItsetc with tesco mobile and she gets 1gb of internet etc. with insurance its 32 month but we are changing it soon so its £28 a month. I dont mind doing this as she is very greatfull and I can trust her not.to run up a bill. I do.need to visit them tomorrow as they are saying the bill this month is £46 and I know its not!! Anyway I was just wondering have any of your teens got contract phones and if so how much for what type. Many thanks.

I know that you can ask them to put a cap on the contract with Tesco so it can't go over the minimum contract cost again.

Did they not explain your first bill will most likely be a bit more? I can't remember why but last time I started a new contract (dd's iphone 5s with tesco for £33 a month) the first bill was about £49 iirc. And yes as PP said you can set a cap on the contract, dd's is anything up to £5 over.

Is it possible she is going over the data allowance? DD finds her Iphone5 quite heavy on data, and usually goes a little over. Also on Tesco, but as have more than 1 family member in same account, get a choice of freebies. She has an extra 250mb data.

Yu should also be able to lit in to account from their website to see a breakdown of the bill. Ie. if it is out of package charges, or you are being charged straight weeks in advance for the first month to set a billing date.

Oh yes forgot to mention, get DD to download the tesco moble app on her phone you an see what you have used so far of your allowance for that month and a breakdown of bills.

No. My dds (13 and 16) have PAYG - they mainly use WhatsApp instead of texts, then they use the wi-fi wherever they are rather than mobile data. ds (18) got himself a contract once he had a PT job to pay for it - his choice, his money.

My contract is with Talk Mobile. 8.50 pm - can't remember what my data is as I only ever use a miniscule fraction of it as I use wi-fi mostly. I have 5000 texts, but, once again, only use a tiny tiny fraction as we all tend to use WhatsApp. I have 300mins.
