My 15 year old son has a very good friend whol lives locally and up until 2 weeks ago was round at our house regularly, he said it was like his second home and I got on really well with him myself a bit like another son but then suddenly he is finding any excuse not to come round always asking ds round to his house but never comes here and blames his parents although they are fine, offered to take them up to london for day trip over hols as ds is going away with his family over Easter but he refused and yet wants to see ds all the time, what is going on?!!!

Thanks for any advice!

Could he have a crush on you, or your DS?

Is there anyone in your home that could have made him feel uncomfortable? I ask because I am convinced one of my DS's friends overheard my OH complaining about feeding him 'yet again'. OH was mortified when he realised the consequences.

Maybe his parents were jealous of your close relationship and asked him to spend more time at their house?

My dd stopped going to her friends house about 4 months before I realised she had an anxiety disorder

I would be mortified if her friends parents were over analysing

Maybe his friends parents suddenly registered just how much time he spends at yours and how many meals he eats at your house and imagined that he is imposing if it's not 50/50, so asked him to invite your son to theirs for a bit to balance it out.

Thanks for all your replies guys, it is so good to get other people's opinions, think it is likely to be a long the lines of one of them? I just don't want him to feel awkward coming round for whatever reason but hopefully things will settle down, teenagers are so complicated!
