could the contraceptive pill help DD (15) with her acne?

Just wanted some advice really as they are really, really getting her down.We have tried 3 different types of AB's and 2 topical creams.The one she is taking now is really drying out her skin (acnecide?) Does anyone have experience of this and what creams did you use to address the dryness?
We have our 1st app with the Dermatologist end of Nov.It's been put back which she is not happy about.Her spots are bad, they are not really big and angry like they were before but she does have lots, they completely cover both cheeks and she has zero confidence.It looks like the AB's are managing them but not clearing them up, I don't know.Would she be taking the pill as well as the AB or just the pill? I'm worried about side effects like (more) terrible mood ? weight gain etc.I worry how safe it is.
Any experiences would be gratefully read. . .TIA
