Teenagers

Thanks for all the advice; DS 20 today so not a teenager any more!

Today's DS's 20th birthday and the first I won't be spending with him as he's stayed in his university city over the summer (except for a week here), as he's basically living with his girlfriend and has a job there.

He's a lovely lad and is extremely happy with his life, and I'm really proud of him but also wanted to say thank you to all the MNers who've held my hand over the last 8 years from when I first posted about his early Year 7 friendship woes through a host of other minor dramas and crises.

Haven't been on Teenagers for a while but at times it was a source of great advice, ideas and as a general sounding board for all the angst I went through during the teenage years.

They do come out the other side as functioning members of society I promise Grin

Ah mumblechum I remember lots of those threads.
You must be proud and relieved. Job done.
Happy birthday to him and sorry you won't see him today. I always think their birthday is a little poignant for me, remembering the day they were born.

Flowers SS. Yep, all turned out OK in the end (so far...!). This time 20 years ago I'd just gone into premature labour and DH, who'd just arrived back half an hour before from Paris was asking if we could go to McDonalds on the way to the hospital Grin

Reading your post has reminded me that my daughter will be 20 in 6 months times. Feel a bit sad!!!!
