Dd got what we thought were some excellent grades yesterday (3 As, 1 B, 3Cs but let down with an E and an F which weren't expected) but having gone for her college interview today she's 6 points short of getting a place. She's on a wait list to see if she can get in with the points she has. I'm so nervous for her. It doesn't help that her back up college decided yesterday that they are no longer able to offer A levels. She has no idea what to do now if she doesn't get in. Can everyone keep their fingers crossed for us? We should hear by 5.

Have you heard? Hope all goes well. My DS failed English Language. Spent all day trying to get hold of someone at college with no luck. Will have to try again on Tuesday. Horrible waiting

Thanks for your replies. She got in thankfully. She's doing English Lang, English Lit, psychology and philosophy. Definitely playing to her strengths. Hope you manage to sort things out Chilly.

I have updated on a thread I started but am copying and pasting it onto a couple I posted on

'Good news! We went to the college this morning and they are happy for him to do the level 3 course even though he hasn't passed his English. The fact he had a good crop of results including maths and the fact that if they had put him on the level 2 course he would be spending the next year covering what he had done at school did help.
All that worrying! My nausea has disappeared as well!
I hope things will work out for others. And perhaps what doesn't seem the right way at the moment will turn out to be a good move in the end'

This is encouraging and sooo similar to my dd, 2As, 1B, 3 Cs - but then a D (maths) and an E (science). Such a shame she has to retake maths. Thankfully 2 of her A level choices are the ones she got As in but we still dont know if shes getting in.
Anyway, well done to your DD - mine is doing similar A levels, replace eng lang with sociology :)
