DS is still unconscious, but he's the Steampunker here. I'll ask him when he surfaces.
Are you looking for fiction books, how to make or draw, jewellery, films and DVDs or what? Smile

absolutely anything, she needs new clothes, loves jewellery, music and very arty, seen a nice fob watch on Amazon which I think she`ll like.

I'll be back!
DS loves his fobwatch, and his fine selection of waistcoats. And the top hat. Grin

can you give her vouchers or maybe a trip to Camden to buy some stuff if you live close to London?

steam punk is quite niche so you wouldn't want to get the wrong thing

I recommend a trip to Camden market, but walk through the horse market and look at all the little stalls, there's a good selection of things and for not very much. Both my girls love Camden and there's so much to do there too.

Here are my suggestions for ye punks of steam

Amazon have some cool craft books for making steampunky things.
Accessorize have some victorianesque jewellery in at the moment.
Monsoon have some victorianish blouse type things.
What about a little sewing machine? You can pick a basic model up for about 30 quid and she might enjoy running up some costumes for herself.

Goodluck!

DS suggestions:
www.amazon.co.uk/Steampunk-Style-Jewelry-Collection-Mechanical/dp/1589234758/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1379257492&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=steampunk%20style%20jewelllery&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
is a book of 'recipes' for making jewellery. They are clear, set out what you need and clear instructions. You could add some basic tools for subsequent birthdays.
This is a similar one www.amazon.co.uk/Steampunk-Accessories-Projects-Gauntlets-Jewellery/dp/1908005289/ref=sr_1_sc_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1379257492&sr=1-2-spell&keywords=steampunk%20style%20jewelllery&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

There are a number of excellent Steampunk authors, Waterstones has a decent selection and the staff are usually very helpful and informed, so that you can talk about what sort of areas she is interested in.
The London Expo is at the end of October, it's a three day event and there are usually a number of attendees who will be dressed in Steampunk style, and stalls selling related materials.
It is a wide field, some focus on the clothes and the manners, some go for the tech side of things. Google steampunk artists and be amazed at some of their creations. Smile
