What have I done with ds's phone???

Argghhh!!! I confiscated ds's phone for 24 hours before Xmas as he'd (stupidly) been using it at school. So that he wouldn't be able to come down in the night and help himself to it, as I was going to bed I put it in a 'safe place' (I actually remember thinking as I put it there "this is a good place to put it"

At the end of the 24 hours I tried to remember where I'd put it but couldn't for the life of me think where the 'safe place' was!

So what on earth have I done with it? I know it's not left the house but that's about as far as my certainty goes ... And how have I managed to erase the memory so comprehensively??

Oh I sympathise ,I forget things like this .

What I've found is that a bit of physical activity outdoors ( walk ,garden ,bike )when I'm not focussing on trying to remember where it is , magically unlocks my memory . Endlessly searching I find fruitless .
So there may be hope ...

Could you ring it and track it down that way?

I know I'm stating the obvious, but have you rung it??

Try your knicker drawer or washing basket - 2 places you may have thought he'd never look

Tried ringing it, but he'd turned it off when it was confiscated ... Knicker drawer, washing basket both searched to no avail, have tried the physical activity, not concentrating on it, it'll just come to me approach but that's not working either

Haven't tried praying to St Anthony Grin yet ...

How come I can remember every word of the conversation which preceded it but not wherevI put the phone itself?

In with tampons. Bras. Makeup. What else is your ds unlikely to look in? What room were you in when you had the conversation?

Reenact the event with DP and see if it comes to you ?

"Safe places" ! Bane of my life too - today I found a lot of stocking fillers intended for last Christmas.

My places include - under sofa cushions, kitchen drawers, food cupboard, under mattress, high cupboard, behind books on bookshelves.

Otherwise time is on your side - and it'll turn up when your looking for something else :)

Tell him if he wants it back he'll have to find it.

A few days ago I found two electric toothbrushes I'd bought as Xmas presents under the pillow of the guest room bed Hmm after spending over a week looking for the bloody things.

Could it be somewhere like that; some room in the house you rarely go into?

Has it surfaced yet ?

nope - it's driving me mad ...

I keep on having half flashes of memory and think "a-ha", rush off to wherever I think I remember putting it and .... zilch ...

on the plus side I've now decluttered the hall, office, utility room and have got rid of about 8 chargers for various electrical items which we no longer own ...

ds is (sort of) talking to me Grin

If it hasn't turned up by the weekend we'll get him a new one on insurance ... which of course will be the cue for this one to materialise ...

Found it!!

'twas in the pocket of my dressing gown (which I hardly ever wear - obviously!)

It suddenly came to me as I was lying in bed this morning trying hard not to be awake ...

Have got ds to sign list of basic rules in return for getting it back
