Panic yea not.

My DDs older boy gets this (he's 3.6 and getting a bit saggy and middleaged)

Get table salt and boiling water. Add enough salt to go cloudy and let it go tepid.
Use non fluffy gauze (not cotton wool, too fibrey) or kitchen paper, a bit of muslin cloth , anything soft and non fluffy.

Hold piggie firmly (we put him on DD lap when his bum to her stomach so he can't reverse) wipe the eye in one direction front to back. Then have a look (pull the lid slightly top and bottom) to see if there's anything inside (usually a hay seed with ours).
Cleanse again with fresh gauze.

Our boy gets a bit hayfevery (he's been seen by a Rodentologist) if he's been grazing or if the hay is very seedy.

If he doesn't improve or he worsens, phone your vet.

When my little Abby died last year , the first give away sign was his eyes (sunken, weepy) but his whole demeaner was different. He was meh , had enough.
Our older boy fights like a tiger when we clean his eyes, he feels better after though.

Keep a check on him, eyes weeping can be a sign of teeth trouble.
