Having a bad dayHmm. I could do with some tales of small furry animal adventures to cheer me up. So what have they been up to recently?

My lovely baby piglet who has grown like Topsy Grin has decided to be uber cute and has started rearing up on his little hind legs with his little front paws waving at us.
Or he leaps from the carry box - it has a lid with clips for safety. When we open it (we are wise now) Dylan flies out like an Excocet missile.

In the run he wanders about with his little fuzzy chicken fur bottom like a huge bumble bee Grin

Not sure if I should show Dylan a picture of The Weebles ( weebles wobble but they don't fall down ) Smile

We took ice skating mad DD2 to see the Dancing On Ice Tour show on Thursday. Meaning teen DD1 home alone to fend for herself. She hasn't mastered using the peeler or paring knife yet Confused I left her with a pan of peeled carrots cut into batons the ways she likes them and sliced cucumber in the fridge knowing she wouldn't attempt frozen peas plus full cooking instructions for pasta, turkey dinos and carrots.

I rang mid evening. Carrots, couldn't be arsed to cook. Cucumber still in the fridge Hmm

The guinea girls loved the posh carrots and would like 'their' veg prepared like that more often. The cucumber was nom too Grin

70 - love the image of a large bumble bee rear end wandering round the garden Grin

Fortified - can't tell my pigs about 'posh veg' they will want it too. How do yours feel about regular veg now?

Forgot to mention my own naughty boys adventure - totally my faultConfused

I went to collect them from their run yesterday evening and to save time decided to catch them both and carry them inside in Current Buns basket. I put Smoothpig in first as he usually freezes in terror then went to grab Scruffy. Unfortunately Smooth was feeling unusually bold and by the time I had Scruffy he was halfway across the gardenShock. It's the fastest he's ever moved. Needless to say it was not quicker trying to get them in that way. One at a time in future.

Bad day was caused by a mountain of horrid paperwork and other minor stresses which all add up, but feeling better now thanks. Not caused by Current Bun although he was continually asking for biscuits. (I've trained him to 'ask' by begging and now he does it all the time).

Sorry you've had a bad day Fernie and hope tomorrow is better.

Not really specifically pig related but it may make you smile - I have been hunting high and low for the little remote control for our garage door (about the size of a car key fob), which I had stupidly, stupidly let our 15mo DS3 hold when we got home from school yesterday pm.

Fruitless search last night but light dawned this morning, when the fob was discovered in Tricolour and Satin pigs' cage. DS3 had posted it through the hutch bars Grin

Fortunately it has not been gnawed or nibbled in any way (the guineas are well used to DS3, who often attempts to post the plastic carrot from the playfood set into one of their cages, and tend to ignore him-they know he is not The One Who Brings Parsley!) but I had a cautious sniff and it has definitely been weed on Still works though Grin

my small furry is my 5 year old daughter's hamster. Mr hamster casually strolled into the living room last night, and climbed into a drawer into the tv unit in front of us.
my and my dh's faces -- Confused Shock

turns out dh didn't lock the cage door after dd was finished playing with the hamster, so it just pushed the door open and went for a walk Grin

Tomorrow is The First of May.
The 70 boars are far, far too lazy to roll out of bed and rub their faces in the morning dew, so I'll have to cut them some fresh dew soaked grass to eat.

I noticed today that GP1 has got one of those lumpy nodules in his saggy chin folds (my guineas of old used to get them. Fibrous and non-problematic. Move about and firm, not like an abscess).
He's getting on, a bit middle aged and set in his ways now, Bless Him.

He went into the freshly cleaned Pighouse after his evening cuddle. Wandered over to the haybox, huge pee. (GP3 walked through the pee, of course). Then stomps round, goes to the wicker house and prowled in. Sticks his face out and did a brrrr purr at GP3 "Mine. Go away"
He can still hold his own Wink

We had to bath the boars today - GP3 was getting a bit over amorous and trying to bonk GP1.
I know it's a dominence thing and GP3 hasn't suddenly started batting for the other team. But GP1 just walked away (which isn't easy because GP3 is bigger and heavier and GP1 is older and saggier.

So I said "DD- it's hot. They're arsey. They need,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,"Just For Boars" shampoo.
GP1 was resigned "Oh Hell. Bath again". GP3 has not had a bath yet since he came to live here.

So now they smell the same and hate us Grin

GP3 has very quick dry fur and tolerated DD lovely new hairdryer ( brilliant cool blast, I'm jealous but I have no need for a dryer myself)

They're eating grass now, relatively well behaved, little toads.

Did GP3 enjoy his bath or is he a wriggler?

My boys have been working hard mowing today even though it's a bank holiday weekend. They are requesting they are paid double parsley for their efforts Wink

Oh, I am waiting for my their shampoo to arrive.

Yes, how much do they hate you now, 70, hm?
I am worried about how difficult it is to bath a GP and how exactly to do it. It's not like I have obsessivley been looking at YouTube at all…. Blush

GP3 was an angel in the bath (we put a towel down , the full length of the bath, I think it gives them something to focus on visually, rather than white bath/pale tiles)

He was washed by DD, dried, wafted by the hairdryer (I tell her to keep her hand between the dryer and GP skin so they don't get hot).
And he dries almost instantly Grin. GP1 was going his pokey rat face and trying to leap out, kept going for my armpit and when I dried his rump he attacked his towel Grin

Then they went out all dry, onto the lawn to graze a while .

DD and I gave them supper, I think they've got over it and they were both in the haybox though GP1 has his willow hedgehog house if GP3 gets to be a bit of a pain.
Poor GP1 , but we saw GP3 leap out of the grazing boxes with a Shock look, I think GP1 bites back Wink
