Megazorb or Auboise?

I have found somewhere local that can order either in for a reasonable price.

I have heard good things about both but would like a personal opinion if anyone has used them.

It would be mainly for guinea pigs but hammy may have to give up his bloody expensive beloved carefresh for the sale of a easy life my pocket :)

I bought Megazorb for my boys when I got them, but only used outside. (I went through a fleece phase and the Megazorb stuck to it) . I just find hay, paper shreddings, newspaer and cardboard easier. (I do daily cleaning at the moment because I'm reading about the dreaded FlyStrike )

Not heard of Auboise though?

I did buy a humungous bag of Readi Grass Equine (thought it would be the same as Small Animal - it's sold as suitable for rodenty types) but it makes GP2 sneeze.
I might try the horse keepers tip of dampening it .

Auboise is a hemp bedding.
Both that and Megazorb has been highly recommended.

Litter+newspaper+ hay is so much easier (roll it up in them morning, set it again, done! !0 mins tops!) but Little pig eats/shreds/rips the paper ,and I need to find something that works for both.

Tonight because L pig went to town last night on the newspaper, it was a bombsite in his side it is litter+carefresh for L pig and the the above for B pig, hay in racks.

Carefresh just costs a small fortune. I can get a huge bag of either of these for the same price as a small bag of Carefresh. It would last me at least 5 times a long I think!

I bought some Readi-grass...they don't eat it Shock

What did you think of the Megazorb? Was it soft? Absorbant?

Megazorb is very soft and absorbant (think how many pints of wee a horse siphons off Grin )

The Readi Grass smells lovely and malty, I bought it because it was so green (to replace the grass in winter ) but it's short and not as comfy as hay. I used to put a handful in beside their hay.

I found tonight when I cleaned the cage that the little vermin completely bypassed my lovely shredded TV times and are sitting at the 'door' to the haybox, so peeing ion the edge.
So I gave them a whole newspaper and a third of a big haybag. (I'm just worried the hay will be too hot, but they'll sit outside the box if it is)

Your pig (I'm presuming this is the Baby Pig) sounds like he needs a Serious Talking To.
My boys are Eternally Grateful (not) that I rescued/rehomed them. They always tug their forelocks and call me Ma'am.

Well, not really. They get judgey if I'm late with the brekkie or supper and tell me I should be lucky to have them. Hmm

I looked on Google- GP Forum and some of the other sites mention Hemcore which is a hemp based bedding with a Citronella scent (so good for repelling flies)

I'm a bit wary of equine beddings after the Equine ReadiGrass .GPs faces are right in it compared to horses.
Don't know if Citronella would irritate them (I've got a Citronella gel block hanging up in the PigHouse.) And indoor pigs would hopefully be less prone to flies than outdoor hogs.

I think id be bit wary of things with citronella added, especially for pigs. It was banned from being in horse fly sprays a few years ago because of a few reactions. Plus im not too worried about flies, due to them being inside .

Although i do have some of those citronella blocks round the stables. Good idea having one round the pig house!

I bought some dandelion and camomile hay today....I am now their favourite person Grin
Much, much more of a hit than the redigrass !

Hi. I've recently switched from wood shavings to Megazorb for my hamster and I like it so far. I only added it for the first time yesterday, so don;t have much experience of it, but I spent a long time looking on the net for reviews of different bedding types and megazorb seemed to have good reviews. I did consider Aubiose and i think i read something negative about it, but cannot remember what it was. Maybe that it wasn't as soft? The Megazorb is nice and soft. I bought it from a company called GJW Titmuss i think it was
