I'll share one if you share yours..

The sanctuary four day moisture oil scrub... No need to moisturise after using scrub.

Take two bottles into the shower? Not me! I just want to scrub my legs and go...

So what are your time savers ladies?

ggirl Wed 29-Jan-14 21:38:01

L'oreal true match powder foundation, quick too apply and great natural coverage .

Boots curl cream applied after shower in the evening and hair is curly but not frizzy in the am...amazing stuff

Eyelash curlers - still surprised how many people don't use them

Scarves - make you look put together even if you're wearing gardening clothes

libertychick Wed 29-Jan-14 21:47:13

All clothes and accessories on hanger the night before makes the morning way less stressful.

Lipstick makes you look like you have made an effort!

ggirl Wed 29-Jan-14 21:47:22

when I use eyelash curlers -the curl lasts about 10 seconds

libertychick Wed 29-Jan-14 21:48:46

I'm scared of eyelash curlers - convinced I will jam an eyelid in them ouch

suntodayplease Wed 29-Jan-14 21:50:11

Ggirl - quick blast on the curlers with the hair dryer and it's makes your lashes super curly, make sure they're not too hot though ouch lesson learnt

ggirl Wed 29-Jan-14 21:51:43

i have tried that..lasts about 20sec.....must be my lashes

ggirl Wed 29-Jan-14 21:52:20

maybe I should try hairspray

DrNick Wed 29-Jan-14 21:52:37

I think curlers are a pile o shit too

AndTwoBits Wed 29-Jan-14 21:55:01

If i haven't time to wash my hair i use the sock bun method. Instant doneness and puttogetherness grin

lurkingaround Wed 29-Jan-14 21:55:47

Nope ggirl. You're not alone. I don't even get 10 secs out of them. The curl I get falls out of them the second I take the curlers away. I've tried lots. Believe me, lots.

Men's eyelashes are straighter Nick wink

lurkingaround Wed 29-Jan-14 21:56:37

Yes, DrN, a heap.

You're not doing it right, you have to have it all the way to the lash without trapping your eyelid cos it fucking hurts when you do that.

And you have to hold it for ten seconds.

randomfemale Wed 29-Jan-14 21:57:49

What does S & B mean? I'm thinking 'shower and bugger orf' but I'm probably wrong!

Locketjuice Wed 29-Jan-14 21:59:12

Sockbun?

lurkingaround Wed 29-Jan-14 22:01:51

Have done it all, LaurieF, buggeringly straight eyelashes.

Yonks ago, y'know, when I had time, I had them permed (who knew). God I was gorgeous. (Really). I fancy those eyelash extensions, but have neither the time nor the patience. Some day....

whereisshe Wed 29-Jan-14 22:02:58

I don't use eyelash curlers either, I'm paranoid they'll break my lashes off. And they don't seem to make that much of a difference on me...

My time savers are mostly removal of unnecessary steps / products (eg toner). Because I'm lazy, so things have to be actively useful to stay. I combine steps as well - like mixing my hair de-frizzer with my leave-in conditioner.

ggirl Wed 29-Jan-14 22:04:16

yup I've tried them all

BlueSkySunnyDay Wed 29-Jan-14 22:07:00

Hmm dont you put mascara on after curling your eyelashes, I find that holds them in place if you do it immediately.

I use this type

Unfortunately most of the decent brands do the heated wand type (probably because of the risk of people doing it after mascara and pulling out all their lashes) I cant heat the metal ones...it works but I cant get the heat right!

My tips - clinique superpowder double face powder (foundation and powder in one)

I also like the No7 bronzing pearls - if im really stuck for time I use them as blusher and brush over my eyelids too.

JanuaryShoes Wed 29-Jan-14 22:07:29

S&B = style and beauty!!!

Like S&M but different

JanuaryShoes Wed 29-Jan-14 22:09:11

Lovin' these ladies!

I also like 12 wonders hair stuff - conditioner, detangler and styling stuff in one bottle.

I use eyelash curlers but not sure they make a difference tbh.

randomfemale Wed 29-Jan-14 22:14:47

<<hits own head with a home baked loaf housebrick >>

Gawd I feel daft grin

CuttedUpPear Wed 29-Jan-14 22:18:12

I think S&B should be renamed to Shower & Bugger Orf

I like it

CuttedUpPear Wed 29-Jan-14 22:20:07

Oh gawd I actually threw away some eyelash curlers like those in the link the other week.
I was scared of them.

Ana Matronix gave them to me yonks ago but that's another story.

randomfemale Wed 29-Jan-14 22:20:11

CuttedUpPear why thank you grin

Shropshiremummy2B Wed 29-Jan-14 22:20:52

Can't speak highly enough of a strong eyebrow. I know it scares many, and used to scare me. But on my wedding day my make up artist put a pencil through them and it made my eyes pop. It really finishes your look and adds such definition. Try it.

McFox Wed 29-Jan-14 22:26:13

I agree with curlers and a quick slick of eyebrow pencil, it works wonders.

twoboots Wed 29-Jan-14 22:31:26

this works for me, but its not speedy, its the only way i get any results with a curlet

mascara + bobby brown shimmer brick in bronze is my speedy minimummake up, people dont tend to ask if i'm ill when i wear it!

JanuaryShoes Wed 29-Jan-14 22:32:01

Shower and bugger orf - brilliant! Let's get on to HQ...

Corygal Wed 29-Jan-14 22:33:15

Boring but speedy:

- Eyebrow threading (3 min once a month)
- Eyelash and eyebrow dyeing (10 min ditto)
- Aussie Leave in Conditioner (20 secs daily)
- Scent (5 secs daily)

Crafty and speedy:

- attacking blackheads when in public loos. The vile lighting exposes them a treat. Saves wasting precious home time on an uninspiring job.
- applying face mask and deep hair conditioning before doing housework. Saves hanging about time, plus nice sweat worked up hoovering makes the gunk work more.
- a double-sided sponge from poundsaver that lets you exfoliate once a week without having to get out of the bath to get the scrub you forgot.

RonaldMcDonald Wed 29-Jan-14 22:33:40

I'm unsure that I would have wanted to have my eyes 'pop' on my wedding day

Corygal Wed 29-Jan-14 22:33:48

CuttedUpPear - now that's pure glamour.

CuttedUpPear Wed 29-Jan-14 22:35:10

Well Corygal I would say <preens> but I can't really since I threw the things away and am obviously unpreened sad

sassytheFIRST Wed 29-Jan-14 22:41:06

Ana Matronix? Cor.

I'm a curler of lash. Works for me.

If you have bobbed or longer hair and want messy or curls, leave it wettish after washing, fling mousse and salt spray at it then wrap it v tightly in one if those turban jobbies while you do makeup, breakfast etc. then take turban off, don't brush or touch it but blast dry with a diffuser.

Shaky Wed 29-Jan-14 22:59:05

I'm another one who would like to know what a sock bun is please.

My tip is do NOT buy one of those hair curling wand things. They are fucking lethal. Yes it gives you lovely curls BUT you will also endure many burns. I burnt my head, my fingers, my ear and melted part of the hair clip that was keeping the uncurled hair on the top of my head. I was even wearing the one protective, allegedly heatproof glove they provide.

However, it is possible that I just wasn't doing it right.

Jude76 Wed 29-Jan-14 23:03:13

Dry shampoo and straightens. Makes one wash last a week. Oh the shame. And wet wipes. And perfume.

Jude76 Wed 29-Jan-14 23:04:50

Nail varnish: I just fill in the chips till the weekend.

Monty27 Wed 29-Jan-14 23:09:48

Liberty I do that, accessories, scarves (and even underwear) all ready the night before. I really does make you seem very put together.

I'm liking the idea of the Sanctuary body scrub. I never have time to moisturise!

whereisshe Wed 29-Jan-14 23:34:52
DrNick Thu 30-Jan-14 00:04:06

Ew. Dirty hair for a week

DrNick Thu 30-Jan-14 00:05:37

Er... Leave exfoliation stuff on side of bath?

Shaky Thu 30-Jan-14 00:19:28

I loved the sock bun video. I am going to try that.

Thank you smile

sassytheFIRST Thu 30-Jan-14 07:23:14

Is this thread about time saving or soap dodging?

Summat smells in here wink

FoxyHarlow123 Thu 30-Jan-14 09:58:05

I bought the 4 day sanctuary body scrub yesterday. Tis marvellous. Put it on dry skin and scrub til you're all pink and peeled, then add a bit if water, scrub again and rinse off. Absolutely no need to moisturise and skin is like silk. I keep touching my elbows, boggling at their smoothness!
I also wash my hair in the evening and go to bed with wet hair. Wake up in the morning and its already 80% dry.

JanuaryShoes Fri 31-Jan-14 14:29:03

Foxy - I never thought to put it on when dry. What a great tip! It's even better than I thought. I have the skin of a baby (well, isn) grin

FoxyHarlow123 Fri 31-Jan-14 17:55:14

Dry scrubbing is the future!!!

bigkidsdidit Fri 31-Jan-14 18:01:09

I leave the house at 5.45 while DH does mornings (so I can pick the DC up early). I've started sorting all my clothes on a Sunday, hanging up in huge spare room, scarves, shoes, underwear the lot. I did it so I wouldn't aka ds2 who is in our room but actually I look miles better too - I'm wearing clothes from the back of my wardrobe as I am not in a rush and grabbing my usual stuff.

I put moisturiser on before I run out then makeup once I've got to work. Stops me getting wind blown. and I had my hair cut short!

bigkidsdidit Fri 31-Jan-14 18:02:04

Huge spare room confused it's tiny? MY spare room.

TeaJunky Fri 31-Jan-14 19:15:15

Big kid- I just imagined you in this airy gorgeous French looking room sigh white carpet, skipping about and hanging up your clothes ...

Then you said it was tiny and ruined it grin

FastWindow Fri 31-Jan-14 20:32:47

Ancient mascara makes an ace eyebrow brush.

Ememem84 Fri 31-Jan-14 21:04:50

Moisturise feet. Wrap feet in cling film. Put socks on. Leave for evening. = soft feet.

Not actually speedy. As very slippy. So you can't actually do anything.
