I have Argos vouchers so really hoped it would be reduced there but they aren't. Are they reduced anywhere?

StephenKatzCrackerHat Thu 26-Dec-13 16:09:02

< lurk >

Asda have them reduced on their website but sold out! Might be worth a look instore?

rusmum Thu 26-Dec-13 18:52:19

I was lucky enough to win one on local forum for £7 yay wink

GlindaForGood Thu 26-Dec-13 19:07:11

I'll try my local Asda tomorrow, need to drive past anyway. Thanks for the tip off.

Anyone seen them reduced anywhere else? I really want one!

IHaveSeenMyHat Thu 26-Dec-13 23:15:39

Asda only had the 42mm one for shorter hair.

Boots have a fiver off online, £39.99. May have just ordered one...

nipersvest Thu 26-Dec-13 23:27:37

i was just about to post asking this same question. mine died this afternoon, was using it, and there was a loud pop and a blue spark from the handle. i switched it off and daren't try it again, suspect the heating element has gone sad

GlindaForGood Fri 27-Dec-13 08:06:25

Think I'll just have to get it from argos because I have the vouchers. Not worth paying in another shop if best deal is a fiver off, better to use up the vouchers. Just need to find an argos with them in stock.

sotiredfornow Fri 27-Dec-13 08:22:29

I'm going to but one today. Reserved at Argos - full price £44.99 hmm but I really want it for tomorrow night.

Hadmeathello Fri 27-Dec-13 08:37:31

Wilkinsons normally reduce them to £10 after Christmas. I got one last year.

bigbuttons Fri 27-Dec-13 09:05:43

I've literally just ordered one from asda for £28. They had them in stock. Wilkos didn't even have them on the website!

SirChenjin Fri 27-Dec-13 09:09:25

That one for £28 is the smaller barrel Bigbuttons - just checking you knew that? smile

AlaskaNebraska Fri 27-Dec-13 09:10:50

They're so average

SirChenjin Fri 27-Dec-13 09:12:52

Oh no - definitely not average. I've had 2 now - both stopped working sadly - but they are the only things that have managed to tame my thick, wavy, coarse hair and make it shiney and swishy. Fab things.

Bakingnovice Fri 27-Dec-13 09:15:19

Can you use the small one on long hair if hair is very fine?

Hadmeathello Fri 27-Dec-13 09:19:18

Big buttons, wilkinsons have them in store. Not sure of price this year.

bigbuttons Fri 27-Dec-13 09:22:20

sirchenjin thank you, yes I know. I have the bigger one, have had it for years, love it, but I have a short ish bob!! I have managed ok with the bigger barrel but really wanted to see what it was like to have one that actually suited my hair length!

SirChenjin Fri 27-Dec-13 09:27:03

I'm wondering whether to go for that smaller one too now - my hair is thick collar length, and sometimes the big one does make my hair big (which I guess is the point grin)

bigbuttons Fri 27-Dec-13 10:19:30

I find it hard to do the back with the big one and I think the smaller one would give me more control iyswim?

princessalbert Fri 27-Dec-13 10:25:10

Does the Tresemme version do the same thing??

princessalbert Fri 27-Dec-13 10:26:49
SirChenjin Fri 27-Dec-13 10:47:51

Just ordered the smaller one from Asda - thanks for the link bigbuttons smile

Does the Tresemme one spin?

bigbuttons Fri 27-Dec-13 16:58:32

Oh good, hope it works for yousmile

jennimoo Fri 27-Dec-13 17:01:14

Slightly OT but how do you use the BBH? Do you have to dry your hair mostly first or does it work from towel dried?

SirChenjin Fri 27-Dec-13 18:22:02

Yes - you have to dry your hair first until it's damp, and then use the BBH on sections of hair. If I'm in a rush I use it on dry hair too - it takes the worst of the kinks out.

GlindaForGood Fri 27-Dec-13 19:03:10

Ended up getting the 50mm one from Argos, it only cost me a fiver on top of my vouchers so not bad really. I nearly went for the 42mm one for £28 in Asda, my store had one left on the shelf this afternoon, but glad I didn't because the big one is great. My hair is about 2 inches below my shoulders, I think the 42mm would have been too small.

I've used it on my 4yr daughter and I, we both look fabulous now fgrin

SirChenjin Sat 28-Dec-13 13:03:52

Argh - Asda have just sent me a refund, they're out of stock apparently sad

bigbuttons Sat 28-Dec-13 15:45:43

oh no! I haven't heard anything from Asda! I hope I got there just in timeshock

SirChenjin Sat 28-Dec-13 18:08:33

I just got an email from them late this morning, so if you haven't heard anything you should be OK - will keep my fingers crossed that you got there in time smile

FalalalalalalaFiggy Sat 28-Dec-13 18:10:45

They're down to £39.99 in boots not much of a discount but am tempted

sunshinemmum Sat 28-Dec-13 18:23:58

Dh bought me one for Christmas, guessing it is the big one. I absolutely love it, had been going to have a good few inches off, as hair so thick and curly but it is fantastic grin

bigbuttons Mon 30-Dec-13 21:13:19

Sirchenjin mine arrived today. i thought about you when I opened itsad

HaplessHousewife Mon 30-Dec-13 21:32:38

So, I have just below shoulder length hair but it's quite fine so should I go for the big or small one – will the big one make my hair too, well big? I am going to grow it longer at some point but have to wait for the condition to improve.

Amazon have the small one for £36.99 but don't want to get it if I'm better off with the big one...

PrincessFlirtyPants Mon 30-Dec-13 21:38:44

princessalbert I have the tresemme one and its ok, it does add volume but its not amazing.

bigbuttons Mon 30-Dec-13 22:22:31

the bigger one has been fine for me. I am growing my hair but it was a chin length bob. I have got the smaller one because I think it will be better. The bigger one should be fine for you though.

princessalbert Mon 30-Dec-13 22:35:29

Oh thanks princessflirtypants

I will look out for the babyliss, it sounds to be the best.

Lidl had some cheapo version in today. I didn't see the price, but the brand name was Desperate Housewives!

SirChenjin Tue 31-Dec-13 10:13:23

So glad you got yours bigbutton smile. My birthday is in a couple of months so will ask DH for one then - sadly this months salary has gone on new school shoes and uniforms for the teens who have both worn out their shoe leather and taken growth spurts!

stella69x Tue 31-Dec-13 12:19:47

I just paid £26.99 inc vat in makro. Purchase not totally inspired by S&B oh no.

StephenKatzCrackerHat Wed 01-Jan-14 08:13:33

Ooh stella thanks for that, I may have to borrow my Mum's Makro card!
