I got my new boots out yesterday - wore all day at work. I am very pleased with them.
www.next.co.uk/x52278s7#788998x52

what are you pleased wiht so far?

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 10:34:48

i am also skirting around this top for under a jacket for work..

Hopefully Sat 12-Oct-13 10:35:09

Ooh, nice top.

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 10:35:43

the shit thing is that i like the purple, i have LOADS of bloody purple

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 10:36:47

i had got this before but the 12 was a bit titty and they then sold out of the 14
www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Tops-T-shirts/3_4-Sleeved-Tops/WL782-EMD/Womens-Bright-Emerald-Wool-Blend-Cowl-Neck.html

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 10:37:52

i am after a jumper, wide necked and loose enough to wear a white shirt under - maybe square shaped,,, to wear with skinny trews and the aforesaid boots for work

i have an old one from autograph - angora, that I love but its past its best

Hopefully Sat 12-Oct-13 10:44:49

Some nice (expensive) jumpers at me & em. My big challenge is always getting nice shirts, not nice jumpers.

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 10:45:33

is there a BOSOM issue? ( with shirts?)
i just found this at marks
www.marksandspencer.com/Collection-Pure-Cashmere-Side-Jumper/dp/B0033IP89Y?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_32&nodeId=42967030&sr=1-32&qid=1381570776 might be a bit maternity...

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 10:46:17

oh they are nice jumpers - why are the pictures so bloody small I wonder

MorrisZapp Sat 12-Oct-13 10:48:07

Love the Phase Eight top, but I don't trust jersey an inch in the wash.

Hopefully Sat 12-Oct-13 10:49:21

What do you wear Morris then? I couldn't cope without all the jersey in my life! I have four Me&Em ruched dresses alone... blush

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 10:52:45

no i do it on delicates and hang up to dry - like its preshus silk wink

Pervcat- the Next soft jumpers are worth a shot but go down two sizes and they will still be roomy enough for layering. They come down to mid thigh not as shown on the model.
here

I have two of these and they ate long enough to wear with skinnies. They are warm an they wash well.

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 12:12:49

oh thanks mate!

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 12:13:30

i like those but fear a v neck will make me look a bit school uniformy.. slash neck maybe better?

The v-neck is much broader than it looks online and the cut MUCH slouchier so it won't look like school uniform if that helps. To be honest it looks more like a jumper you would find styled up on Wrap.

Orangeanddemons Sat 12-Oct-13 13:06:01

Wrap have gorgeous jumpers this season. Not cheap mind....

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 13:07:11

thanks froggo

charitygirl Sat 12-Oct-13 13:07:35

Agree - just wash jersey on a handwash or wool cycle and all is good. Love jersey (except not printed - yukkus). Btw - Baukjen currently doing buy one get one free on all clearance stock.

nice boots. are the trousers those ones from gap?

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 13:42:03

the super skinny ones, had to order LOADS of sizes...

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 13:42:30

oh gap are just insane with their sizing. good shape, what's the fabric like?

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 13:54:27

deep black - cotton lycra
with those trousers ( the straight ones and the slim cropped) you have to a) wash carefully and not tumble b) accept they shrink length wise after about 6 months and c) give a bit during the day

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 13:54:57

after i got those next boots, I wish i had got the similar pONY ones/

yum

I got yet another delivery of jeans this morning that don't fit
Fed up

bettybleep Sat 12-Oct-13 13:56:31

Ruched jersey is comfortable and flattering.. Hell to iron though.

dammit perv I do like those boots but bought two dresses in the jaeger sale this week <wail>

no idea about gap sizing - drives me crazy

I really like that P8 top. May purchase. I liked the look of those Gap trews when I saw them in store, but I am chunky of thigh so probably best avoided.

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 14:33:04

i just looked - one pair was a Us size 4 ( so a 8)
one was a us size 6 ( so a ten)

I am a marks and spencer 12 or sometimes 10

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 14:33:43

im going into town now to have a look at it. I think you look best in shirts AN. also winter contrast thing.

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 14:34:37

Jayne - what are you looking for jeans wise? can help when i returneth

Pinupgirl Sat 12-Oct-13 14:58:32

Recent purchases-

Vivien of Holloway circle skirt in pirate print-love it!
black Dolores top-Collectif
Polly Paddington skirt-Collectif. Lovely tartan pencil skirt that I plan to wear to death.
Violet skull print dress-Collectif. Very pretty and even though its light material I can wear it through winter with a cardigan and tights and it will still look good.

Need new boots now so if anyone see's any that have a vintage/retro feel then give me a shout please!

Ooh has Next actually got some nice things in? I like those boots and that grey jumper a lot.

I'm not pleased with anything right now - I went shopping today and disliked practically everything, everywhere. I am trying to buy something that isn't black - but the only things I like are black.

I lied. I have bought a couple of Whistles tube skirts lately. Love em.

BadSeedsAddict Sat 12-Oct-13 15:09:17

Can anyone recommend some long tips for over leggings? Just ordered two pairs of Mint Velvet ones (saw them on MN!) in grey and black and don't have much to go over them apart from a very beautiful slouchy thing MIL got me. I'm a size 16 and have HH boobs so can't wear anything with a high neck!

BadSeedsAddict Sat 12-Oct-13 15:09:46

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 15:46:42

Right. Looked at phase eight. They only had the ecru in looks small. Didn't try.

Whoever wants knitwear for over treggings- that had masses of cool sloppy joe sweaters and cardigans.

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 15:48:28

On the other thread about next Remus there were done skirts too. Iirc

I am very pleased with my Asos purple jersey dress and my White Stuff waterproof navy parka.
The dress is super flattering and the parka somehow manages to be warm, lightweight, fitting and practical all at once.

Will have a look, Perv. Don't need skirts though - have millions. I am desperate (DESPERATE, I tell you!) for tops.

CharlotteBronteSaurus Sat 12-Oct-13 15:56:25

just got a navy drapey top from H&M and umming and ahing over whether to keep it.

BadSeedsAddict Sat 12-Oct-13 16:04:12

Thanks PervCat (can't actually take you seriously after seeing you on the cat spray thread!).

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 16:06:06

Lol. sprays against your leg

Ujjayi Sat 12-Oct-13 16:07:57

Pervcat I bought this from TK Maxx. I sized up to a medium for a lovely slouchy fit. Definitely enough room for a shirt beneath.

KeatsiePie Sat 12-Oct-13 16:12:51

Love this sweater (have the gray striped one), wish they had more. www.express.com/clothing/striped+chiffon+lined+tulip+back+sweater/pro/9604724/cat2012 Looks good with everything.

I bought this this morning. I'm very pleased with it. I'm going to wear a down body warmer (alright, gilet) over it which works rather well to my surprise.

And I bought a plain jersey dress from H&M as mentioned on another thread. Cheap and cheerful.

And knickers - boring ones.

And school uniform because four weeks in and DS has wrecked his trousers. They are too big so I have to go back.

goodasitgets Sat 12-Oct-13 16:39:30

I love love love my new Collectif dolores dress. Had the doll (full skirt) version already but this is a wiggle one and so flattering (am size 16)

BadSeedsAddict Sat 12-Oct-13 16:55:05

Goodasitgets that is gorgeous! Is it fitted to your bust size or did you just buy it like that? Fitted tops never look right on my boobs, annoying.

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 16:56:50

ujjayi - love the back of that

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 16:57:36

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 17:02:00

KeatsiePie Sat 12-Oct-13 17:13:19

Also a little [embarrassed] re: Express link, didn't realize they are not in the UK.

KeatsiePie Sat 12-Oct-13 17:14:01

Sigh. Meant to do a blush

goodasitgets Sat 12-Oct-13 17:14:29

No it's just off the peg. I went for an 18 in that (the full skirt version is stretchier and I got a 14)
I'm a 34JJ though - Collectif is amazing for bigger boobs

CharlotteBronteSaurus Sat 12-Oct-13 17:31:11

trying again - was unsure about it, need to try with work trousers
also have a new navy and grey striped loose jumper from Primark which I really like

This longish top is extremely flattering for those of us who are pear shaped. Reduced in the sale. Had lots of comments about it.

I've been very please with striped tunic from Boden - have it in two colours. Also brown National Sugar boots from Clarks are amazing.

trixymalixy Sat 12-Oct-13 19:54:05

I had a parcel arrive from Dorothy Perkins today but it is all going back as its so cheap and nasty.

It's Autumn, yes?

LaFataMalvagia Sat 12-Oct-13 20:16:03

Ooh those GAP trousers look really nice PervCat I might go try them on.

I'm going to get these boots if they have them in my size the next time I go shopping. So cheap and the heel looks comfy.

PervCat Sat 12-Oct-13 20:41:25

like the wedgey boots. they are all over the place though - don't need to pay mega bux

catgirl1976 Sat 12-Oct-13 20:47:10

I was so pleased with £47 smile Pretty cheap for boots. They seem good quality, though they are suede so not ideal for wet / snow.

I will have to buy a nice leather pair of boots too. Shame smile smile

ChocolateMama Sat 12-Oct-13 21:05:22

Yes, DEFINITELY Autumn...

lurkingaround Sat 12-Oct-13 21:17:35

I bought this leather skirt and love it.

CambridgeBlue Sat 12-Oct-13 21:21:55

Another vote for the Next soft jumper - I got it in the grey and am really pleased with it, looks much more expensive than it was and feels lovely and soft. Also really want those boots in the OP and trying to justify yet another pair of ankle boots - got brown low heel, brown mid heel, grey wedge and black high so feels like I've probably got enough!

lurkingaround Sat 12-Oct-13 21:22:20

I also like these boots, but am dithering. They were marked as half price on Friday. Did I buy? Did I heck. That would have been sensible. Pah.

AlfalfaMum Sun 13-Oct-13 00:16:03

I'm on a bit of a skirt buzz, have bought this from Hush, which is expensive for what it is but really bloody nice. It flatters my big bum/small waist, but I reckon it would also work well for skinny types.
And also this kilt from MV which I love. Again, expensive for what it is (even with a discount) and I suspect it will bobble like a bastard, but I feel good when I wear it and it goes with almost everything I have.

I now want Lurking's leather mini too..

Also recently purchasedthese boots from Clarks, which surprisingly and amazingly make my feet look small and dainty. And they're practical, waterproof, gortexy stuff (in case my dad's reading).

MrsKoala Sun 13-Oct-13 03:34:38

Oh god! this is why i ration my exposure to S&B - I am only on page one and already want that phase eight top and the next soft jumpers - and those are the only 2 links i've clicked so far. I'm scared of clicking anymore... I do really need some new tops tho....

I am coveting some form of dark red/navy cord trousers this season for some reason. So if anyone has seen any nice ones let me know smile - i have a big bum so a skinny/straight cut is not my friend.

trixymalixy Sun 13-Oct-13 03:42:27

Atterley road have some red and blue cords in the sale down from £80 to £20, they look quite slim but say they are stretchy?

ringaringarosy Sun 13-Oct-13 08:16:03

pffft.im 7 months pregnant.and even when im not pregnant im a size 16-18,my goal next year (apart from not getting pregnant again, for the 6th time)is to lose some weight so i can wear lovely clothes again!

LightasaBreeze Sun 13-Oct-13 08:21:38

M & S have got bootleg cords in various colours. Probably not very S&B but cords are cords and I am going to try them in wine and petrol colours as they are only £18

Bootleg cords

PervCat Sun 13-Oct-13 08:23:08

It's like eating pate. You never want to when you aren't pregnant.

Love those skirts Alfalfa

I have last years version of the goretex long boots from Clarks, love them and worth every penny. Going to hunt for a MV code, think that skirt would look good with my new Zara jacket.

Actually could eat pate, not quite hungover but almost.

I'm thinking about this Henley dress from Hush:

www.hush-uk.com/daywear/dresses_skirts/henley_dress_mid_grey_marl.htm

Anyone bought this?

I like those shoes, Orchid.

duckyfuzz Sun 13-Oct-13 09:44:57

Koala I have cords from gap, they are stretchy and lovely I have burgundy and dark grey

CambridgeBlue Sun 13-Oct-13 09:48:14

Dancergirl I find Hush stuff a bit hit and miss - looks beautiful but often poor quality for the (high) price. But I had 2 of the Henley dresses last year and was really pleased with them - comfy, flattering, retain their shape and wash well. I've got grey and navy and am contemplating the red this year.

Tedder Sun 13-Oct-13 10:12:58

Am going to order some dresses from & other stories - what's the sizing like? I'm a 10/12. Never seen the website before....love it!

trixymalixy Sun 13-Oct-13 10:32:07

I was going to order a dress from other stiries, but £6 postage ?!?!?

Dancergirl Sun 13-Oct-13 10:40:25

Thanks cambridge what's their sizing like? I'm a 12 so s/m or m/l?

CambridgeBlue Sun 13-Oct-13 10:52:28

The small-medium-large thing is a bit annoying as I think many people are between sizes. I am 10-12 on top and 12-14 bottom so I went for the S-M - the buttons pull a tiny bit over my boobs but I prefer that than it being too baggy.

teta Sun 13-Oct-13 11:01:35

I have a few Henley dresses.I love them.I have managed to accidentally tumble dry them and they were still fine.I am 12 top and 14 bottom and I have the M/L size. Its not loose on.

frankietwospots Sun 13-Oct-13 11:03:10
Dancergirl Sun 13-Oct-13 11:10:21

I am bigger on my top half, bigger boobs/shoulders and slim hips. Shall I get M/L?

used2bthin Sun 13-Oct-13 11:33:01

I love that first skirt from hush and think tube skirts may actually suit me but just no idea what t o wear with them? Baggy jumper?

Tube skirts are brilliant - I'm a 5'2 hour glass and the shorter ones in particular are very flattering. I wear them with a fitted but tummy covering top and a blazer for work, or with a not too loose sweatshirt or jumper and a biker jacket at weekends. I recommend the Whistles ones, or the Topshop double layer ones. Whistles with a discount ones work out at good value.

Remus, would the long Whistles one work on you? I am the same height and would like one that was calf length-ish. I'm hovering over the website as I type smile

Yes - it's lovely, but would be better with heels. Then again, I do sometimes wear it with flat boots.

I would be wearing it with heels smile
Thank you, will order now.

Hope you like it. smile

I really wish they'd do a maxi version too - dd has stolen my Topshop one.

I had a maxi one in the 80s. I wore it until the bum bit rotted through over wear grin

PervCat Sun 13-Oct-13 13:16:25

noddyholder Sun 13-Oct-13 13:22:23

Link to Marks one?

The double layer Topshop one is excellent. If they still do it, I'll buy another - it has amazing bum-shrinking effect.

PervCat Sun 13-Oct-13 13:45:22

ill find it - my only concern i that it will bag - if so it is going back girlfrien'

PervCat Sun 13-Oct-13 13:46:44
PervCat Sun 13-Oct-13 13:47:23

i want that topshop one in maroon though , je pense

Oh, tis knee length. Sorry, I thought you meant a maxi. The M&S ones don't fit me right - too big on the waist and baggy on the hips, but too tight across tummy if I size down.

For any leather skirt lovers, this arrived yesterday - amazing bargain!

noddyholder Sun 13-Oct-13 14:12:09

I like that is it tight?

Not particularly - the pleat makes it quite straight

noddyholder Sun 13-Oct-13 14:16:56

Love the colour hope I can fit in a 12

noddyholder Sun 13-Oct-13 14:29:25

lovely but can't justify!

I'm kicking myself for not getting a navy Whistles leather pencil skirt when it was in the sale - then again, I don't really lead a leather skirt kind of lifestyle tbh.

dancergirl another vote for the Hush Henley from me.

Got it in the sale last year (about £35), in navy. It's the only one of the few things in my wardrobe that I've actually been complimented on by my much-more-stylish friends smile

garlicvampire Sun 13-Oct-13 14:38:45

I've bought this long striped jersey dress in assorted colourways (before it was in the sale, dammit!) It looks brilliant with this little knitted jacket. In fact, I might get some more in the sale (slaps own wrist.)

I got this big coat, and it's gorgeous! OK, the fabric's a bit scratchy but it more than makes up for it in style for the money. The collar kind of bumps the hood up, giving a Dr Zhivago look, and the skirt really swings when you walk.

I've also bought one pair of Fly London shoe boots, and would buy shedloads more if I could afford them. I can't, though.

catgirl1976 Sun 13-Oct-13 14:41:48

Cheers Lightas and Ducky. I think i like the M&S ones best blush . I looked at the Gap ones yesterday too so will try them on. I find the trousers in gap need constant washing to tighten them up tho - does anyone know if this is true of the cords too?

What i'd really like - if i could design my own - are cords in a kind of mannish slouch trouser which sit a bit lower on the hip and have pleats - a kind of 40s style. I have some trousers like it from french connection but only in a light material.

MrsKoala Sun 13-Oct-13 17:14:11

oooh Ambernecterrine i love that leather skirt. I have quite long legs tho so am worried it will be too short. How is the length?

Just below knee length on me (5'4")

SuperMuddle Sun 13-Oct-13 18:25:27

Sorry, haven't read the thread, so don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but why is this thread coming up under Discussions of the Day under the heading 'Fall Fashion'? Last I checked we were still in Britain, not the US.

Sorry to be pedantic, but it does irritate me mildly. I shall now go off and get a life...

MrsKoala Sun 13-Oct-13 18:30:46

cheers Amber, it's the split i worry about. I've been caught out before. I'm 5ft 10in and mainly leg so if a skirt is a knee length on most it's mid thigh on me and then a split is right up to my arse crack shock

It's not actually a split but a pleat so there isn't a gap there if thatakes sense...

MrsKoala Sun 13-Oct-13 18:59:11

oh hurrah! i'm going to order one then, you temptress you! and the v neck next jumpers and the P8 top and some cords from Gap...AND M&S!

Dangerous thread. Have ordered the Next black suede boots recommended by OP, and the Next soft v-neck jumper in several sizes & colours, plus a new yoga top which I just happened to spot on the website.

Very excited about my parcel arriving tomorrow! Thanks fellow Mnetters smile

trixymalixy Sun 13-Oct-13 19:13:10

It is a dangerous thread! I've ordered the Zara jacket and a leather pencil skirt!

trixymalixy Sun 13-Oct-13 19:18:08

I also bought this top, which looks much better irl, the back detail is lovely. Now I need a statement necklace, any recommendations?

NickECave Sun 13-Oct-13 20:13:09

Bought some lovely boots in White Stuff with 15% code a few weeks ago. Hummed and haahed for ages as they're not very practical for winter, but love them and have decided to keep.

www.whitestuff.com/bryony-ankle-boot-prod405397_ccoal/

ColinButterfly Sun 13-Oct-13 20:28:54

Flat black ankle boots, zip up from Jones are the one!

Whoever made flat shoes fashionable, I love you.

PervCat Sun 13-Oct-13 20:32:48

they had those boots last year - the briony. I tried them on then realised i didnt need any more. I have some wedge dessert boots( thats what the label on the box said!) from Linea from about twenty years ago, ( or maybe 4) were quite avant garde then!

That leather skirt Amber linked to is lovely

Dancergirl Sun 13-Oct-13 21:00:34

nickecave I bought some White Stuff boots very similar to those last year only in navy and with a side zip. I love them and wear them loads in the winter. What colour did you get? I love the charcoal.

AlfalfaMum Sun 13-Oct-13 21:10:05

I have those boots from last year too, Dancergirl, they still have them. Very comfy and warm.

Dancergirl Sun 13-Oct-13 22:17:58

Yes they're fab.

I have just ordered the burgundy henley dress from Hush in a S/M.

Will report back!

MissDD1971 Sun 13-Oct-13 22:57:12

Trixy you were after a statement necklace. What's your budget and do you like eg ribbons, collars etc?

Oasis and H&M do nice bigger necklaces. I'm too delicate (long neck etc) for proper statement stuff but got v nice chain and Perspex statement necklace from H&M and also orange and gold squares one from oasis. Was this year. Just play with their stuff. Zara has nice ones too.

MissDD1971 Sun 13-Oct-13 22:59:10

Having said that. Was in dept store Friday after work being 'sold' some necklaces and my word, I just knew they weren't me even though they advised me.... I know my style!

TheInfrequentShopper Sun 13-Oct-13 23:18:09

Ok, am diving in! As my NN suggests I barely ever buy clothes, but today I got www.butyk.co.uk/prod/show/13006/Shoes_Boots_Boots_Riding_Boots_leather_Outer_shoes_fly_london_Special_FORCES_Stif_P141941000.html these but in lack with black fastenings

And www.jigsaw-online.com/products/fine-knit-zip-cardigan-5128 this and www.jigsaw-online.com/products/modal-cotton-silk-front-raglan-top-7661 this to go with it.

Am now worried I'm going to look like a muttony goth. I'm not 40 yet, but not far off. Am I going to look like a teenage wannabe?

TheInfrequentShopper Sun 13-Oct-13 23:19:13

I also fell in love with www.jigsaw-online.com/products/putney-suede-ankle-boots-7077 these, but had run out of money! smile

ShreddedHoops Sun 13-Oct-13 23:21:27

Lovely links on here.

I bought this shirt yesterday in Laura Ashley, much nicer irl, considering the animal version too. Polyester but lovely quality, doesn't crease and really floaty and luxurious feeling. Size up for a more floaty jeans-friendly 70sish look.

ArtemisatBrauron Sun 13-Oct-13 23:33:17

I love, love love that cardigan! I want it!

TheInfrequentShopper Sun 13-Oct-13 23:41:00

The lovely thing about it Artemis, is that it has two zips, one is hidden, so you can wear it completely open, or with one zip or with two. I very nearly didn't buy it, as its colossally out of my budget for a cardigan, but my V lovely DM bought it for me as an early birthday present. smile

trixymalixy Sun 13-Oct-13 23:49:49

MissD, I'd like something like this, but max £30.

Dancergirl Mon 14-Oct-13 00:03:18

I love it too infrequent what's the sizing like?

TheInfrequentShopper Mon 14-Oct-13 00:14:59

Well I got a small in the top underneath it and I think a medium in the cardigan itself and it sits very nicely. I'm generally a 10-12.

Thumbwitch Mon 14-Oct-13 02:58:18

OK, I see it's been mentioned by 4 other posters but WHY is this listed as "Fall" fashion?? This is a BRITISH site. I'm quite sure the minority of US users can work out what AUTUMN is, can they not?

Whereas fall fashion - well for starters, I originally misread it as FAIL fashion (which would have been a lot funnier) and then thought it was clothes to fall over in - my mistake, obviously but come on, MNHQ! AUTUMN, please.

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 06:57:53

That cardigan. The jigsaw one. I got a Gsp moto one last year for at least half the price. They were in this year too

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 06:58:17

I never called it fall? I think alliteration for the DOTD

snowlie Mon 14-Oct-13 07:37:38

dancergirl I have the Henley dress from last year, if it's the same one made from cotton, it goes really baggy around the bum, looks great on until you sit in it for a while.

Dancergirl Mon 14-Oct-13 07:39:21

What's gsp moto perv?

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 07:44:51

Gap. Moto. Sorry.

TheInfrequentShopper Mon 14-Oct-13 08:18:52

There were a few versions out there yesterday perv (great NN), am v happy with the jigsaw one though, it was perfect on, and that doesn't happen to me very often! smile

TheInfrequentShopper Mon 14-Oct-13 08:19:31

What's Gap Moto?

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 09:01:20
TheInfrequentShopper Mon 14-Oct-13 09:10:29

Yeah, looked it up. Not quite the same jacket. Still cute though.

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 09:14:17

jugsaw knitwear is veh nice to be sure

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 09:14:26

lol at jug

Dancergirl Mon 14-Oct-13 09:15:53

I can't find it. Is it on Gap's site? What's the moto bit?

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 09:17:07

grrr

grin

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 09:18:01
ChildrensStoriesNet Mon 14-Oct-13 09:51:08

Knee length top quality real leather boots for an unbelievable £1 on a village fete stall.

And a brand knew pair of Clarks leather sandals from the shop for £0.99p, the made a mistake with pricing ticket missing off the pounds, my lucky day.

FaddyPeony Mon 14-Oct-13 12:01:16

Recently ordered/purchased:

these skinnies

Breton top - this will prob end up going back because it's 100% polyester but will hold off judgement

Topshop Chelsea boots - might look awful on my short legs, might also go back]]

Coated skinnies these look good with soft jumpers and are not too hideously 'wet look'.

Thumbwitch Mon 14-Oct-13 12:03:25

Sorry Perv, wasn't whinging at you! And apologies for posting with nothing relevant to your actual thread!

However I did have a bargainous day today - bought a few things in the sale, that added up to the princely sum of AU$28 (about £19), which would have cost ~AU$200 at full price. The best one was a coat - original price, $90, reduced to $20 - extra 30% = $14!! Fab. Won't need it til next winter but don't care! (Spring here).

Dancergirl Mon 14-Oct-13 12:06:58

It's grey though perv not black

Dancergirl Mon 14-Oct-13 12:09:59

Now where can I look for cardigans?

I bought a lovely light grey one from Boden a few years ago, think it's called the Como cardigan. But it's gone all shapless and baggy and the sleeves are far too long now, must have stretched.

I often look to Boden for knitwear but their colours are a bit off this year. I really like light grey/silvery grey. Any ideas? And not frigging waterfall!

Absy Mon 14-Oct-13 14:19:31

I got a nice grey merino wool cardigan from gap.

I got this from Boden which was my first ever foray into Boden.

Can I report this thread for MN MQ's Americanisation of it in the
Discussions of the Day' sidebar. Each time it catches my eye there I growl inwardly, and it isn't even in the OP's title! I see it has been mentioned already - but why would MN do that?

Mumelie Mon 14-Oct-13 15:45:03

Love those wedge boots Jemima I have them in charcoal and the beige colour and wear them all the time, so comfy!

What did you think of the Libby dress Ansy? I received my order today but its going back as too short all over for me (I'm 5'6" so not tall). Would have loved it otherwise. All sold out in my size in the long now sad.

I have bought and loved so far this Autumn;

Boden top in the green

New Look black coated jeans - late to that bandwagon but they are ace!

Autograph cream cashmere long jumper which I hope will last a fair few years as my Boden cashmere has!

I really really want a pair of grey ankle boots but cannot find the right thing! I need mid hell/wedge suede or leather, close fitting ankle (for skirts not skinnies), and crucially not too much £!

PervCat Mon 14-Oct-13 15:46:49

mumelle i just saw those grey boots in next as i took back some other shit ones

35$

frankietwospots Mon 14-Oct-13 16:03:48

Jemima, I have that lightweight parka in the navy. It's fab isn't it!

MrsDeVere Mon 14-Oct-13 16:23:30

Dancergirl- Woolovers is worth a look re cardigans. They are good quality and shaped nicely despite what their advertising suggests.

The cropped merino/cashmere are well shaped and wash well. I have the black, grey and blueberry.

hackneybird Mon 14-Oct-13 17:44:00

Infrequent I have both of those Jigsaw items! I love the cardi, it's so warm. My silk raglan top is navy blue though. I don't think you'll look silly if you're concerned about being near 40 - just very stylish (disclaimer: I am 40!).

Tweet I am getting that Uniqlo coat in black. I need something warmer and more practical for a change.

My mad bad purchase this AUTUMN not Fall was these boots.

I had a gift voucher from my husband as part of my 40th birthday present and the rest was my 40th birthday from 'me to me'. I have worn them loads already and they are very comfy.

garlicvampire Mon 14-Oct-13 19:46:59

Love your boots, hackney! Very impressed by Thumb and stories, for amazing bargain-finding. I need you two to do my shopping grin

I sort of feel I shouldn't like those velvet leggings, MrsDV, but I do! I'd end up buying long jumpers just to go over them, so I'd better forget about 'em ...

MrsDeVere Mon 14-Oct-13 19:49:52

Does no-one like my leggings sad

MrsDeVere Mon 14-Oct-13 19:50:27

Oh sorry.Missed that last post!
Yes I feel the same. I shouldn't but I can't help it grin

garlicvampire Mon 14-Oct-13 20:52:00

This thread's made me go mad shock As well as buying insane amounts of tube dresses and cute jumpers, I've just ordered these. IT'S NOT AS IF I HAVE NO BOOTS ... just not these particular ones!

I'd better hide the thread. Really. I don't need loads of lovely, big, soft jumpers, do I?!

garlicvampire Mon 14-Oct-13 20:52:36

... Well, not as urgently as I'm going to need gas, electricity and food come January ...

garlicvampire Mon 14-Oct-13 20:53:35

Speaking VERY STERNLY to myself, MrsDV grin

YukonHo Mon 14-Oct-13 22:20:49

Mrs DV, I have no longer got the pair of blue crushed velvet leggings from Michiko Coshino from about 20 years ago. Your leggings made me yearn for them. ;)

MrsDeVere Mon 14-Oct-13 22:33:45

I think that is why I like them! I would have killed for a pair of velvet leggings in the 80s.
Mind you in them days they would have had baggy knees within 10 minutes of putting them on.

Yes I am old enough to remember when lycra was not routinely added to clothing grin

Oh and btw the way garlic.......BUY THEM BUY THEM BUUUUUYYYY THEM!!!

garlicvampire Tue 15-Oct-13 01:03:08

You very bad woman, MrsDV angry

<gets out credit card>

Absy Tue 15-Oct-13 10:27:39

Love it mumelie - I ordered it in long, so it hits on the knee. When I ordered it it was supposed to take 9 weeks, but in the end only took about 1. I wore it over the weekend with a cream polo neck from uniqlo (also a very good buy), so it was warmer.

PervCat Thu 17-Oct-13 21:25:48

I might have found the jumper from the OPS.

PervCat Thu 17-Oct-13 21:27:02
PervCat Sat 19-Oct-13 07:43:57

I know everyone's gone. But just to say that jumpers perfect

It's nice. Too boxy for me I reckon. I just bought this. It's rather warm for cotton.

casacastille Sun 20-Oct-13 11:53:56

Is it itchy, Perv?

PervCat Sun 20-Oct-13 16:02:19

I'll have feel. Don't think so
