I can't afford to have mine done atm, I have tried working it out through one website but couldn't figure it out confused

Does anyone know any websites I could try? (pref dead simple for my brain to understand it....for some reason I just can't get it!)

It just isn't possible to do it online, it really really isn't. What you can do is find a palette that you like and start using it - your whole look will improve a bit and look more expensive from everything being co-ordinated and in harmony, even if it isn't doing wonders for your skintone.

Some consultants I know let clients pay in instalments, incidentally (am a HoC consultant).

Are you stuck between two? We might be ale to narrow it down for you. I was ok 'til they brought in three types of each season!!! I'm meant to be an Autumn but my dark eyes dominate so maybe I'm a Winter but then again I'm a bit pale and have no high contrast so I'll stick wth deep autumn for now confused

closetcat Sun 06-Oct-13 09:09:57

*able - not ale - it's too early for beer

cardoon Sun 06-Oct-13 09:20:26

cat, if you have dark eyes and pale skin is that not contrast? confused

lucysmam Sun 06-Oct-13 09:24:05

closet I'm not even stuck between two.....I just don't have a clue!

closetcat Sun 06-Oct-13 09:24:37

cardoon you make a very valid point that I hadn't considered! grin

I thought the whites of my eyes had to be super white to be the contrast confused

lucysmam Sun 06-Oct-13 09:24:50

Hopefully....I will have to save then. My dad usually gives me money for my birthday so can save that too smile

closetcat Sun 06-Oct-13 09:25:45

lucysmam in that case wear what you like - you'll look fabulous! grin

cardoon Sun 06-Oct-13 09:27:51

grin@cat

cardoon Sun 06-Oct-13 09:28:51

You could be right though....confused

I would definitely save OP. Even if it takes a year or more, you'll have the information forever and it'll save you money in the long run.

LegoCaltrops Sun 06-Oct-13 09:30:14

Hi OP have you looked at this site? I got directed to it the other day as, like you, I can't afford to get 'done'. For me it was quite accurate & helpful.

lucysmam Sun 06-Oct-13 09:48:12

I'll take a look on the laptop later on, thanks Lego....might give me some idea while I save.

Closet grin ...I'm not so sure...tried out a charcoal eyeshadow the other day.....NOT a good look on me hmm

lucysmam Sun 06-Oct-13 10:14:50

Have googled, there is a HOC consultant near me (very in fact) so I will save my money & go get my colours done.....in the meantime, I think I'll stick to fairly light neutrals which seem to suit smile

You should look at the colour of your veins on your arm. If greenish you are warm season ( spring or autumn) if blue you are a cool season ( summer or winter). Then take your other features as eyes, hair colour...to decide which season you are.

hmmmm, maybe it's my dyed blonde hair that's confusing me confused It's naturally mid brown ish with a bit of red iyswim....should I try with that maybe? Rather than the blonde?

Who would have thought it could confuse sooooo much!

SirChenjin Sun 06-Oct-13 11:29:25

Really like that Personality Cafe smile

Hopefully Sun 06-Oct-13 12:03:51

The personality cafe thing is interesting, but it makes me a Deep Winter and I'm an Autumn.

Hopefully Sun 06-Oct-13 12:04:09

I look like a dead person in Winter colours.

sedgieloo Sun 06-Oct-13 12:22:56

That personality cafe is great! I've had the same question. Except I could find the £ (probably) but not the time because of childcare and bf stuff. It seems to be a full day when I looked I reckon I can narrow it down with this as there some colours I know work for me v well. Thanks to whoever posted!

QueenCadbury Sun 06-Oct-13 12:38:08

All online quiz' put me as a summer of some sort because of my blonde hair. I'm actually a winter though and look much better in the bright colours than the soft muted summer shades.

Hopefully that link says Deep Winters can wear persimmon - please say its true!! wink

Hopefully Sun 06-Oct-13 13:14:23

Amber having met you i feel confident saying you would turn orange wearing persimmon.

babySophieRose Mon 07-Oct-13 09:08:16

Just a thought, sometimes people dye they hair a colour that doesn't suit them and this is where a lot of confusion about "what is my season" arise. Look out for your natural hair colour and make a decision. You may go back to colour which is close to your natural and look better.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Mon 07-Oct-13 09:27:58

Hmm the Personality Café thing looks interesting - but I've seen several self-diagnostic sites showing celebs and putting them into seasonal categories.
Trouble is, it only goes to prove you can't guess at it by looking at someone; I've noticed several of those women have been 'diagnosed' as being at least 2 different seasons.
Indeed, my DM, who is a Winter, would not be diagnosed as such from that site as her eye colour doesn't appear in the Winter descriptors.

SirChenjin Mon 07-Oct-13 10:36:33

Not sure that my natural colour now at 44 - mousey with lots of grey - fits into any of the categories!
