Need an everyday pair of skinnies. Budget up to £80. Mid rise and a good fit. Boden are hit and miss and the lat pair I ordered were a definite miss. Mint Velvet - have just tried a pair but they are a funny fit and I have to keep hoiking them at the top of the leg as you would a pair of tights. Don't really like Uniqlo - it can't get the right fit from there. Fussy beggar, aren't I?!

Any other recommendations please. Really do need a good mid-rise and skinny. Am a 10 if it makes any difference.

Thanks smile

I'd try gap! I'm very impressed with their skinie jeans

There web site is also really helpful in sizing etc

i second gap, i tried top shop but they just didn't fit me although many rave about their baxters. although, have to admit my favourite skinnies are from primark!

AngryFeet Thu 03-Oct-13 11:24:37

My Miss Selfridge ones were £35 and are very good with a mid rise smile

I like Levis.

Love love my gap ones.

I third Gap. Their High Rise Skinnies are excellent.

Primark are definitely my favourites - they look much better on me than Levis, Gap etc.

Go somewhere posh near you like Selfridges and try on all the expensive jeans brands. J Brand 811s are a lovely mid rise skinny and although £££, often can be found for £50-£80 at sale time. Just google like mad and find online sales at places like Donna Ida or on the Outnet site. Worth the wait. Or try TK Maxx - I just got some Diesel 'Grupee' skinnies which are an amazing fit (very low rise so may not be for you) for £40 instead of £240 smile

Thanks all - will check out Gap as they seem very popular. Shredded ... just got a pair of 7FAM on Brand Alley. Do keep an eye out for J Brands but always seem to miss my size! Some great bargains out there!

Primark every time. £11. You can't go wrong.

KittyMcAllister Thu 03-Oct-13 17:59:57

Another one for Gap. Got some "always skinny" there today and they fit like a dream! Good choice of shades too. £40.

I just bought a pair of mid rise skinnies from Matalan. Their 'Jeggings' for £6. I was desperate as my other jeans have been lost (long story) and I thought they'd tide me over for a few days. Absolutely love them - can't remember the last time I had a pair of jeans that fit over my muffin tops without me having to hoist them up all day. Did I mention they were £6 freaking pounds?!!

ShreddedHoops Thu 03-Oct-13 19:39:13

I have a couple of pairs of Primark ones but in olive and grey - the blue denim colours look cheap I think - they only do an almost royal blue and a pale basic denim. If they did a good strong dark indigo, or a mid blue denim with some distressing or fading, I'd be there like a shot.

I have the topshop baxters skinny jeans and they are brilliant. I recently made it back in to mine after losing the dc3 baby weight and I love them still! While I was waiting to lose this weight I was wearing oasis skinny jeans in a 10 and they were comfy and a good fit too.

I like Zara

SizzleSazz Thu 03-Oct-13 21:10:22

I like Red Herring super skinnies, but you have to watch the material - they went through a stage of very thin stretchy material, but seem to be back to normal stretch jean material noe

hillyhilly Thu 03-Oct-13 21:13:44

Only because mumsnet told me to (!)I bought M&S ones recently and am really pleased with them £20 and I got 20% off too

StickyFloor Thu 03-Oct-13 21:34:31

Tesco - either £10 or £14 occasionally £7 on offer. I have them in assorted colours and they are fab.

Jesseismysecretcrush Thu 03-Oct-13 21:43:01

I love my LTB skinny jeans, very soft and comfy and stylish. about £70 I think.

MrsMcGregor Thu 03-Oct-13 22:00:50

Crikey ... far too many recommendations! Thank you!

Jesse - what s LTB? Can't place them?

Jesseismysecretcrush Thu 03-Oct-13 22:04:44

It's not "Leave The Bastard" which I think of every time I put them on smile

I've had a couple of pairs of them bought locally from a trendy boutique shop - not helpful I know!

oohdaddypig Thu 03-Oct-13 22:06:19

My fav skinnies are from h and m. 6 squid in the sale.

Definitely off to check out the matalan ones.

Gap look amazing and I have heard their skinnies are great but I don't have £40 right now hmm

MrsMcGregor Thu 03-Oct-13 22:08:20

grin ... leave The Bastard was my first thought too!!

Grrr.... Gap have nothing in my size. Off to check out the others now!

beachyhead Thu 03-Oct-13 22:08:29

I love the Urban Outfitters skinnies, the mid rise cigarette pants....

oohdaddypig Thu 03-Oct-13 22:24:27

Oh - the Gap ones look lovely...

Can anyone tell me about gap sizing. I seem to remember it is bonkers. I am a large size ten ie size ten in places like next and m and s fit me, but not h & m...

KittyMcAllister Thu 03-Oct-13 23:33:45

Gap sizing is confusing! I had to ask the assistant. I'm on the larger side of size 10 and a 28 fitted in Gap. Agree H&M are tiny though. The variation between shops is bizarre and I hate trying them on. Someone mentioned M&S earlier, what style would people recommend?

SorrelForbes Fri 04-Oct-13 09:00:43

I'm a 10/12 and find a Gap 28 is perfect.

LoopThePoop Fri 04-Oct-13 09:17:53

I have some nice Zara ones too, good for every day and don't need pulling up 347 times a day!

Stay away from LTB ones, mine grew with each wash!
Seriously, they just got bigger and baggier.

I don't have any Gap ones, I must give them a try.
