What are you wearing on your feet?

I've lived in birkenstocks all summer but now it's just too cold!

I'm not sure I'm ready to embrace winter boots yet! confused

Flip flops while it's still so sunny and warm.

But I am looking forward to boot days and will watch with interest for ideas, I need something new and lovely

Dfg15 Tue 10-Sep-13 14:14:10

i've got my Clarks Majorca Villa boots on, bought them after seeing them on Mumsnet Swears By and I LOVE them. Possibly a bit too warm for today tho ..

LonelyGoatherd Tue 10-Sep-13 14:22:56

leather hi-tops
suede desert boots

ArtexMonkey Tue 10-Sep-13 14:28:43

Dr martens cath or 8 hole cherry reds.

I like summer but I like getting my docs back on.

Sunny and warm? Not here in Wales. Cold and wet more like.

I have fully embraced boots. This morning I wore my Clarks Marilyn Zoe to work, now I am wearing my Clarks Orinoco Jazz with tights and a skirt.

dexter73 Tue 10-Sep-13 14:50:55

I've got my brogues on today.

Oh no Jemima, sorry! It's sunny in SE Cornwall. I've just been for a paddle on the beach in between writing copy palettes. Trying to make the most of it before it does get colder and the relentless rain starts.

Kezztrel Tue 10-Sep-13 15:04:05

I am still in ballet flats. It's not that cold here. Will be resisting boots for as long as possible (though have embraced snuggly jumpers already!)

missmartha Tue 10-Sep-13 15:10:38

Wearing Converse high tops here in Wales.

I resisted the temptation to put my Ugg ankle boots on when I get up.

It was nippy.

aoife24 Tue 10-Sep-13 15:27:36

I've got some Clark's brogues, tan and wine red and I love them. They're comfy and go with virtually everything. I usually look for boots but have got bored not finding what I want.

Oh I like those boots Jemima. When I start boot shopping in a few weeks I will go try those on first! thanks.

Rooners Tue 10-Sep-13 15:33:07

Derry boots! smile

And Toggi horse boots
and camper pelotas

What I would like to be wearing are Sweedish Hasbeens Danish boots but they just came off sale and into full price and it's ridiculous.

LadyBigtoes Tue 10-Sep-13 15:35:07

Keens coronado which are a bit like converse, but I just want it to be properly cold so I can wear boots.

bunnymother Tue 10-Sep-13 15:35:41

I'm straight into ankle boots. I wore slippers yesterday and they got rained on. Am only a few degrees away from scarves, too.

Norfolknway Tue 10-Sep-13 15:36:16

A pair of havaianas as I'm 8 month pregnant a cant bend over my bump to tie my bootssad

So sad!

MarshaBrady Tue 10-Sep-13 15:39:16

Sam Edelman suede ankle boots. Really good for autumn.

chelsbells Tue 10-Sep-13 15:52:19

The Uggs have come back out for me. Too chilly to go in ballets as can't do socks with them, so it's straight into Uggs for me! And I flipping love them grin

I'm in a sun dress. I can't believe how different the weather is just a hundred miles or so away that requires boots and scarves <sad that autumn and winter are coming>

<narrows eyes at sundress>

I have just done the school run in a wooly cardigan (plus boots, tights, skirt and a top under the cardi) and I was freezing. I thought I'd be OK as it had stopped raining. Really should have worn a coat.

foxysocks Tue 10-Sep-13 16:10:06

have worn full array of footwear over the last week. havianas and sandals in the warm, converse and ash high tops if a bit cooler. the sheepskin boots came out this morning for the school run as it was FREEZING, thankfully much warmer by lunchtime.

Give it a week. It'll be pissing it down here too then, the bonus being that when it does, because we are on the coast path it's usually too windy for an umbrella, or indeed any semblance of looking half decent.

I got these boots for my birthday and wore them today for the first time - they're gorgeous.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Tue 10-Sep-13 16:24:26

I'm wearing my Clarks Orinocos too but the ankle boots. Only a finally got them out today as it felt a bit chilly walking down to the school but I bought them two years ago and they're still going strong save for a ripped lining. Seriously considering buying another pair while they're still available just to keep for when these ones fall apart. I love them. They're like slippers they're so comfortable. And they're pretty waterproof too. smile

I have the ankle boot version of Clarks Orinoco too, currently the brown and had the black before that (and the brown knee highs before the black ones). I love them, but I don't find that they last a whole winter of being worn a lot and walking far, the heels seem to collapse. They are really comfy, but for the price it would be nice if they lasted a bit longer.

Notfootball Tue 10-Sep-13 17:00:03

I was in Converse hi tops today but my Clarks National Sugar have just arrived and I wish it was chilly enough to wear them.

HoneyDragon Tue 10-Sep-13 17:08:22

Doc Martens for smart
Uggs for skinnys / leggings casual
Leather Converse for casual / smart casual

Joey8 Tue 10-Sep-13 17:18:21

Ooh I like those Dr Martins! I'm really bad with shoes I always go for the cheap ones but end up having to buy other pairs, rather than just investing in a really good quality pair.

At the moment im wearing black brogues from Dorothy Perkins which were in the sale but I really ought to go buy myself some decent shoes!

HoneyDragon Tue 10-Sep-13 17:22:39

They are their wedges. They do them in cherry red and purple too. They are bloody comfortable.

MrsMcEnroe Tue 10-Sep-13 17:23:35

Ooh I've been eyeing up those Docs for the last two winters .... Tell me HoneyDragon, what is the sizing like? (I haven't worn Docs since the early 90s and my feet measure an exact 4 1/2 according to Clarks ....)
Thank you smile

ParvatiTheWitch Tue 10-Sep-13 17:29:20

I want those Docs in red Honey. I was after the fly version but I have big calves. Do you reckon the Docs would fit a chunky calf?

HoneyDragon Tue 10-Sep-13 17:31:09

The sizing is exactly like normal Docs. I'm a 5 and wear a 5 in these. I was lucky enough to get mine on ebay for £13 having only been worn once as the lady found them uncomfortable on her calf. She did state she normally wore wide fitting boots though but liked the dm's so much she was willing to risk her circulation grin

I don't find them tight at all and can wear them over skinnies.

Brown Chelsea boots today; black biker-ish boots yesterday; leather Converse on Sunday.

HoneyDragon Tue 10-Sep-13 17:39:35

In the interest of scientific enquiry I put dh's thick wooly forces sock on over my skinny jeans and they still fit.

According to the tape measure that was 15"

ParvatiTheWitch Tue 10-Sep-13 17:57:27

I am a 16 inch calf so I might try and squeeze them on. Thanks Honeydragon.

surfandturf Tue 10-Sep-13 19:34:37

Not quite cold enough on the south west coast for winter boots yet so I am also favouring high tops and brogues.

I'm in Somerset still warm ish here.

Today wore tan ankle boots, black drapey dress with bare legs. Plus denim jacket and scarf. DH laughed and said 'welcome to the 90s'. I'm taking as a compliment. grin

ParvatiTheWitch Tue 10-Sep-13 20:30:04

As long as you didn't do double denim Bill?

Lots of West country folk on this thread. I am in North Somerset.

ShoeWhore Tue 10-Sep-13 20:59:28

Converse or ankle boots at the moment.

It's bloody freezing here! sad

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Tue 10-Sep-13 21:49:48

Don't know why you've had such bad luck with your ankle boots Jemima, like I said mine are about to do their third winter and I definitely recommend them. smile

Goodness it's a Somerset-fest here!! Lively and warn and sunny here today (Weston-super---mud---mare) Timberland slip ons but dud go to Clarks outlet looking fir boots to fit over my wide slighty ample calves in jeans. Failed miserably but still need to get last stone of baby weight off will make no difference to my calves!!

Somethingpink Tue 10-Sep-13 22:17:55

Sandals, I will probably wear them until the end of October shock

Only because I cannot get anything to fit my feet or legs though due to pregnancy hmm

Pumpkintopf Tue 10-Sep-13 22:18:00

Converse today though it was so cold and rainy I put new uniqlo heatech top on under sweatshirt this afty. Cosy smile

LapinDeBois Tue 10-Sep-13 22:52:49

I love the fact that whenever I go to start a thread on MN, the same one has already just been started! So, I'm crap at shoes, and I really need guidance on what to wear at this time of year - something comfortable, that I can wear with socks, that are preferably slip-on, but aren't too frumpy. On the back of this thread I'm now thinking either some Clarks Orinoco or some desert boots (do you have to tie them, or do they slip on? And they're pricey!). Alternatively, what do you think of these - maybe too smart/casual? (I'm a v casual kinda girl.) www.clarks.co.uk/p/20355398.

Love these macay holly from clarks wore them today for first time. I'm also still wearing the grey/khaki majorca villas and black norley cedars both also clarks although a wee bit too hot still somedays. Might have a look at the brogues again.

HoneyDragon Tue 10-Sep-13 23:13:32

Lap in, I'm not keen on the elastic looking bit across the front

ErrolTheDragon Tue 10-Sep-13 23:21:56

I work from home so... still nothing most of the time - not ready to put on socks yet. This evening went for a walk in sandals. (In sunny Lancashire.)

invicta Sat 14-Sep-13 13:33:55

Thanks for this thread. The Clarks Orinoco looks good to me - and it's great they named a shoe after a womble!

Rooners Sat 14-Sep-13 13:41:02

Just got some of these Keen Hoodoo boots on sale.

They are very comfy and seem to be waterproof so far!

Happiestinwellybobs Sat 14-Sep-13 13:56:46

Boots on here - just treated myself to these www.dune.co.uk/timpleton-elasticated-panel-buckle-trim-riding-boot-0089506080015484/ after my old ones finally fell to bits after a few good years.

Suddengeekgirl Sat 14-Sep-13 16:43:13

I'm thinking of these

Any thoughts? smile

I need something that'll be ok in rain, flat and wearable with skinny jeans.

CressidaMontgomery Sat 14-Sep-13 16:53:36

Ash Bowie wedges or Ash spiral boots. Clarks biker style boots. Short Jones ankle boots.

Basically a lot of boots

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Sat 14-Sep-13 17:32:20

invicta grin

MissDD1971 Sat 14-Sep-13 17:35:54

Natura faux suede ankle tab boots in black

commuterbelt Sat 14-Sep-13 17:45:10

i've had about five pairs of those clarkes orinocos, they are seriously fab boots - pleased to see them back in stock as i couldn't find them last year and had to buy from another retailer

cocolepew Sat 14-Sep-13 18:16:03

This is like a Clarke's love in thread shockgrin
I had on leather Converse hi tops today but have been wearing Adidas trainers all week, navy and lime green. I've never had so many compliments about shoes as the trainers [hmn]

Selks Sat 14-Sep-13 18:31:00

I've just bought these DMs, (though bought at cheaper price on ebay) can't wait for them to arrive smile

cocolepew Sat 14-Sep-13 18:43:56

I fancy the DM Felice but would like to try then on first. Unfortunately I don't have a DM shop near.

nipersvest Sat 14-Sep-13 18:52:43

am wearing fly yuna in camel or red hush puppies atm.

have my eye on some biker style boots tho, have another thread on the go!
