Yes, yes I know its July but all the winter stuff is going to be hitting the shops soon so what do you desire?

I want the following:

- a bright coat for winter - this is my current favourite massimo
- some distressed jeans
- a fur/shearling gilet - I want one of these every year and have never found one that doesn't make me look like a womble. But its my holy grail.
- some black ankle boots that I can wear with dresses for everyday. Something like the Rag & Bone harrow boots but a lot cheaper.

So anyone else?

PaleHousewifeOfCumbriaCounty Tue 30-Jul-13 17:45:28

I want some slightly victoriana/steampunk lace up kneeboots, and a high necked, fitted black military coat. More black skinnies from primarni.

foxysocks Tue 30-Jul-13 17:46:53

I would love a fur gilet too.
Charcoal tweed wool shorts
Miniskirt - poss leather
Boots - either mid length black with buckles or embellished tan ankle boots, depends what's around
Maybe some slightly cropped skinny trousers, navy or grey, in a subtle brocade or tweed
A grey or black bag

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 17:54:04

I need to go and look at the skinnies in primark, I know lots of people on here rate them. Housewife - love the sound of your boots too!

Foxy - nice wants. What type of bag are you after? Saw Alex Gerrard in the DM with a grey birkin which was rather lovely and obviously I'm sure very cheap wink

Crutchlow35 Tue 30-Jul-13 18:06:25

Tops for work. I am not sure what but I have some nice three quarter length trousers to wear with heeled ankle boots so looking for the top half. If anyone has suggestions I'd like to hear them! I have a jersey blazer that works for one outfit but I would like a couple more.

I would love a grey leather bag. But not seen anything.

santamarianovella Tue 30-Jul-13 18:11:48

Leather skirt

Something similar to these gorgeous boots
I hope ash copies them!

Animal print cord skinnies

Tweed jacket.

A bag I have been saving ages for.

Grey sweater

dfv lace sweater

I hope I get to finally buy a pair of heels I've been lusting over for a while now.

there is moreblush but these are the essentials!

foolssilver Tue 30-Jul-13 18:14:46

I'm pregnant and guessing I'll have a big bump so a few maternity bits and some accessories.

Maternity Parka
Breton and plain maternity tops
A few basic maternity dresses for work that can be worn with tights/leggings and boots
Black flat biker boots with black studs
Very oversized leopard print scarf - any ideas anyone?

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 18:18:20

Lovely things!

Which bag Santa? And which dvf sweater?

Fools - Lily & Lionel do lovely scarves - the outnet also have animal print scarves sometimes so worth looking there. Or you could get the standard mn scarf wink

Crutchlow - whistles have done some lovely jersey blazers recently and also gap.

Just posted mine on the other thread but hey ho...
More black ankle boots
The perfect grey jumper
A grey silk shirt
A grey cropped jacket of some sort
A navy printed silk mini dress of some sort, or maybe grey, or maybe red
Another Whistles skirt

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 18:30:16

Remus - I know you're not a fan of buying online but you should keep an eye on purecollection for good silk shirts.

I'd love a silk dress too - was quite a nice one in oasis but the fit was dreadful on me.

I fancy the black dress you pinned recently - the one for thick waists

foolssilver Tue 30-Jul-13 18:34:31

Thanks MrsCampbellBlack

Had a look on Lily and Lionel, so many nice scarves!

What's the mn scarf? (I'm pretty new and clueless)

santamarianovella Tue 30-Jul-13 18:45:35

mrscb it's thissweater.
I would like to get a chanel shopper or a Sofia Coppola lv bag.

On my list:

Black or dark grey cropped jacket
Leather jacket
Cropped fake fur coat
Everyday gold earrings
Black ankle boots
Mustard pencil skirt
Something mohairy
Orange dress

shaggyrogers Tue 30-Jul-13 18:52:03

MrsCB - I have a shearling gilet from Brora a few years ago which is lovely but was £££. I guess you don't want one that is too long as you is only little.

foolssilver Tue 30-Jul-13 18:59:31

mrscb - how about an ostrich feathery type gilet? I also struggled to find a fur one I liked but got a lovely feathery one from Never Fully Dressed.

I'm on a spending ban so shouldn't get any of this but I'm hoping my DH will take pity on me:

Kenzo grey tiger sweater
Olivia Burton watch
Snake print shirt
Boden leopard pointy flats
A peplum jumper
Chelsea boots

And the thing I'm on a spending ban for; a really nice handbag, type as yet undecided.

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 19:11:45

Yes, think the brora one would be a tad too long.

I do quite fancy a feather one. Extensive trying on, suggests ones which have a fabric back may be best.

Your DH will do very well if he gets you all those things Amber wink

He gets his bonus next week MrsCB, and our anniversary is coming up...

A pale pink coat
A grey fur gilet
A black leather pencil skirt
More grey and navy plain merino sweaters
Heeled ankle boots: grey and I also have a hankering for gold. I too would like Rag and Bone without the price tag.
A silk blouse: perhaps I'll check out Pure Collection MrsCB. Do they come up small enough?

Am sure they'll be more!

blue2711 Tue 30-Jul-13 20:04:13

Not sure how I managed to do that, sorry!

foxysocks Tue 30-Jul-13 20:07:15

ideally a balenciaga, MrsCB. gotta aim high, right?

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 20:10:45

Blue [hi] smile the pure collection shirts are fairly slim cut and good for everyday, especially if you get 25% off with one of their frequent codes.

I'd really like a grey gilet, I did pin a nice one but it was £££

Foxy - I often stroke the balenciagas in HN but they are so expensive. But then all designer bags are crazy prices now

blue2711 Tue 30-Jul-13 20:16:23

Hi MrsCB! First time I've been back posting on MN for ages but I always like your threads. Might try the Pure ones then, thanks. I like Whistles ones but they drown me, soo long. I repinned that gorgeous grey gilet and love it but can't afford it, sadly. But a friend of mine found it in black for £84 in the sale, was v jealous.

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 20:18:56

Oh I am so jealous re. your friend.

What has happened to Whistles sizing - I tried a size 6 maya dress the other day - honestly I looked like I was 5 trying on my mum's frock. Crazy sizing and they cut very oddly now too.

I don't think Equipment would work for you tinies either - I wear an XS and I'm like a hippo next to blue!

Paintyourbox Tue 30-Jul-13 20:27:05

Hi everyone,

My wishlist consists of-

A wool coat, pref collarless and with large pockets. Ideally camel in colour.

A new Breton as my current one looks a little old.

Some sort of knit that I can wear with a pencil skirt or over skinny black trousers for work. Probably grey or black in colour.

Annianni Tue 30-Jul-13 20:30:36

Well... I wanted some ankle boots, and I've bought 3 pairs so far blush

2 pairs from All Saints (one grey leather and one suede pair) and one beautiful pair of Marant Jenny's in charcoal suede.

I wanted a couple of cashmere sweaters and I've recently got a lovely grey J Crew one, and am awaiting delivery of a neon pink one.

I would also like a nice coat, a purse and a watch.

CoTananat Tue 30-Jul-13 20:40:20

I'm looking for:

A pewter silk shirt, 40s style with no breast pockets.
Some orange silk halternecks with high backs in
A boat neck breton, in something drapey, like a silk/linen knit.
A better jersey blazer (I went for Hush - AWFUL cut)
Some really really nice chestnut brogues.

QueenCadbury Tue 30-Jul-13 20:42:42

Not sure as I keep changing my mind! I'm trying not to buy anything until October when I'm going shopping in London so I'm hoping I would have worked out exactly what I need then.

I definitely need an emerald cardigan, coloured handbag (fushia, magenta, cobalt or emerald), coloured leather belt (in same sorts of colours as bag) and a birthday outfit.

Possibilities include cords (grey possibly) and day dresses.

On my birthday wish list is a watch (either white or rose gold), possibly a rosé gold bracelet/bangle, emerald necklace ( I already have the stones, they just need reworking).

QueenCadbury Tue 30-Jul-13 20:43:24

Oh, and a grey bag too.

blue2711 Tue 30-Jul-13 20:47:15

Amber, there is nothing hippo like about you! But yes Equipment come up huge, I didn't even bother trying on.

Whistles is very inconsistent I think. Their dresses usually fit me well but trousers and blouses are no good at all, which is a shame.

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 21:02:22

The Equipment slim cut shirts are good I find and the Brett style but their signature ones are very generous.

I love J crew cashmere and have had the neon pink one that's on nap on my wishlist for ages.

I want so much stuff. Stupid spending ban.

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 21:09:53

Honestly Amber - you need to do your bit for the economy. We've all got to much in you know wink

Annianni Tue 30-Jul-13 21:13:29

Amber... you look nothing like a hippo!?!

Love that red coat MrsCB.

CharlotteBronteSaurus Tue 30-Jul-13 21:14:07

I'd like:
- a pencil skirt in a colour other than black - grey ideally
- some brown flat chunky ankle boots - a bit DMish or bikerish i think
- some silk blouses, so I can channel DSI Stella Gibson from The Fall.
- Boden blue animal print jumper
- a clutch in a bright clour
- a handbag. medium sized, needs a shoulder strap, not black or tan. I'll know it when I see it

I've just spent this month's wages on holiday clothes, though, so will have to wait.

I think the sizing everywhere has gone absolutely bonkers. I tried an American Vintage t-shirt on in a small the other day and you could have fit three of me inside it - a shame, as it was reduced to a tenner. I've also bought two pairs of size 10 trousers in the last couple of weeks, even though I'm probably the heaviest I've been for ages and am usually a 12. Whistles t-shirts and jumpers come up absolutely huge ime, and I tried their biker on the other day and even a ten was way too big.

MadAboutHotChoc Tue 30-Jul-13 21:18:23

Amber - found a lovely grey snake print shirt in TK maxx, can';t find it on their website though.

I want the following:

A couple of crew neck jumpers (real wool/merino) in winter colours that isn't black or grey (will probably get these from Uniqlo)
A scarlet cardigan (ditto)
A black moleskin or cord short skirt - hopefully the Gap will bring one out?
Tapered/slim fit black trousers (similar to Boden's skinny urban - sadly their fit wasn't right for me)

Suburban Tue 30-Jul-13 21:19:22

I want...
A yellow cashmere jumper
Chelsea boots, maybe the whistles ones
Suede over the knee boots
A bright maybe orange coat.

Actually I want a lot, this is just my urgent list.

I will not buy any more merino from Gap, I just can't be trusted not to shrink it!

Reiss often has nice silk blouses....

CharlotteBronteSaurus Tue 30-Jul-13 21:20:24

yy re crazy big sizing
I just bought some tops in Oasis in a size 10, and I'm a 12 on a good day. I had to send almost all of my Boden sale stuff back as it was too big (size 12s). I'm 11st!.

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 21:23:47

Suburban - I love otk boots but they don't love me sadly.

I am determined to do more colour this winter - too much grey and navy, much as I love it, just gets a bit depressing.

InMyShreddies Tue 30-Jul-13 21:25:06

Gap slim crops in black
Distressed or dark (or both) jeans from Diesel or more likely River Island
A silver bangle
A long silver chain possibly this one bugger it's sold out
A floaty silk or silk-y blouse - I saw this one in Next today and LOVE it - 100% softest polyester which will wash like a dream - I am a bit of a fabrics weirdo

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 30-Jul-13 21:25:16

I think its shoulders and arms that are enormously sized in particular. Does mean you need to try about 3 sizes on everytime as so variable which is tedious.

InMyShreddies Tue 30-Jul-13 21:29:55

I love it though, the Next top was a size 6! Never in my life have I been a size 6! It's probably why I liked it so much.

Annianni Tue 30-Jul-13 21:30:32

Suburban, there's a gorgeous yellow cashmere jumper on J Crew's site in the sale section.
It's a slouchy boyfriend style.
Sorry but I can't link as I'm on my phone.

Suburban Tue 30-Jul-13 21:43:49

Thanks Annianni I will check it out.

Mrs CB I love them too, leather ones don't love my calves so I want something slouchy.

Whistles T shirts are ridiculous. I have size 6's that are too big.

scarlet76 Tue 30-Jul-13 21:44:11

Mulberry bayswater in oak (need to save)
Fine wool animal print scarf
grey fitted cashmere jumper
Little black dress (for parties)
Tweed pencil skirt
Fitted white shirt
Pointed heels

Passthecake30 Tue 30-Jul-13 21:48:01

I need a new casual coat and work coat - under bum length, I'm 6ft.

The casual coat needs a hood and needs to be waterproof for school runs...the work coat needs to be warm but not too warm as I travel on public transport....ideas ladies?

Also would like some dresses to wear with leggings but not wool (allergic) and some work tops...not floaty, jersey or boring shirts...doesn't leave much choice eh!

Plus new pjs, scarf, gym trainers.... Better start saving!

GeorginaWorsley Tue 30-Jul-13 22:21:56

I love Autumn clothes!
Would like
Chocolate coloured fur coat
some sort of puffa /quilted style coat with hood,in navy or grey.
Chocolate leather knee boots.
fine knit slouchy jumper in soft merino.
slim but not skinny navy wool trousers
something similar to Dorothy Perkins coated jeggings that I had last year and wore loads.

Mrs CB love the Oasis dress.

LadyBigtoes Tue 30-Jul-13 22:37:53

Oh I looove autumn and autumn clothes - though I've enjoyed wearing summer things this year, there is nothing like feeling the chilly air and wearing woolly tights and boots again.

I actually filled a fantasy shopping basket at Boden today but I will actually only be buying a bit of it, and only when Johnnie sends me a fabulous special offer. I will also be able to make some of the following.

I want...
A colourful 60-s style wool/tweed miniskirt with pockets
Ideally an A-line dress along the same lines.
Cosy brushed flannel pj trousers
Choc brown thick tights
Perfect throw-on grey/taupe jumper that goes with everything, doesn't bobble and isn't too short - in my dreams!
Knee-length brown leather boots (I have some but they have sprung a leak)
And finally I really want a Boden rainyday mac now they have one in dark grey. £££££ though...

libertychick Tue 30-Jul-13 22:41:21

Some lovely ideas on here.

My list so far:
A really good winter coat - this is the holy grail but in reality I will have to find a cheaper version
Dress for work - maybe red or purple
Chelsea boots
Low/mid heel non frumpy work shoe - another holy grail item! I had hoped these ones were the answer but they were shockers - very hard leather.
Perfect grey jumper/sweater
A coatigan - something like this but again cheaper (common theme emerging here!)
Every year I hope to find a cape style burgundy coat exactly like the absolutely perfect one my granny bought me when I was 14 smile
Fine knit cobalt scarf
A blue, yellow or green handbag - as someone else said further up the thread I will know it when I see it.

Thanks Mrs CB. I like the Oasis dress but it's not what I'm after. It's another, 'I'll know it when I see it' thing.

I still want a yellow skirt too, but this seems to be an impossible dream.

justasecond Tue 30-Jul-13 23:15:01

I love A/W too, I would like:
Long calf length coat like the ones VB has been seen wearing
Grey slim but not skinny or straight cords
An across body bag in grey would be nice.
Also like the look of the longchamp le pliage leather in grey can't find a pic online but have seen in JL, it is a gorgeous shade of grey.

libertychick Tue 30-Jul-13 23:17:41

<waves to justasecond> how are you? smile

justasecond Tue 30-Jul-13 23:24:48

Hello Liberty!! fine thanks I must drag myself over to MNV to catch up with you all unfortunately ds has taken most of the keys off my laptop so it takes me an age to type anything!
That Burberry coat certainly is a beauty..

libertychick Tue 30-Jul-13 23:27:55

Have missed you there! Glad to see you are still about. Naughty DS!!

Apols for thread hijack!

A trip to Uniqlo.
I bought a couple of the round neck T Shirts which I really like.
DD is after a down filled coat (they are so light) so I might have to get one for myself too.

MrsCampbellBlack Wed 31-Jul-13 06:37:46

70Isa - In practical terms, my Barbour arctic parka has been my best buy of the last few years. It was hardly off my back for 6 months in the winter. If I saw a non belted navy version, I would be very tempted.

Liberty I love coatigans - goat often do them and they sometimes turn up in tk maxx.

Don't worry MrsCB I'll be doing my bit in December when I buy my new bag!

CambridgeBlue Wed 31-Jul-13 08:15:27

LadyBigtoes - I need that elusive jumper too, let us know if you find it!

Not sure what else I am after but I know new boots will be top of the list and I am still umming and aahing over some brogues.

LadyMilfordHaven Wed 31-Jul-13 08:18:17

Oh wah. I'm still loving summer. Shorts. Flip flops. What's not to like?

MrsCampbellBlack Wed 31-Jul-13 08:31:06

Its raining here and did lots over the last few days. But I did hear on r4 earlier that the heatwave is going to be back. So plenty more time for shorts.

It's chucking it down here. I'm wearing jeans for the first time in ages.

In fact, some nice new tops to wear with jeans would be v useful. Any ideas?

foxysocks Wed 31-Jul-13 13:40:39

Do you want long or short sleeves Remus? I loooove the sports tops with diff coloured body and sleeves that have been popping up on blogs recently, the outnet had a cashmere jumper that was ££££ which i newrly bought but I found this top in the manuka sale for a tenner which is lovely with jeans, shorts or cargo trousers

The cotton is really soft and thick. Can highly recommend.

Thanks Foxy. I'm thinking something a bit smarter than a t-shirt though, and probably with three quarter length sleeves.

lurkingaround Wed 31-Jul-13 16:45:01

I have been looking for a grey bag for about 2 years, not too dark in colour, so if anyone finds one......
I need well-fitting trousers. Happy to pay.
Would like a fitted dress with an a-line skirt. Harder to find than you would imagine.
Was checking out Zara. Like this pink short coat, this houndstooth one.
I really like this short one for Autumn.
Anyone like this?

aoife24 Wed 31-Jul-13 18:07:36

I want some lovely long, pointy boots.

LadyMilfordHaven Wed 31-Jul-13 22:01:30

Oi cb you fucker. Got that marks animal print pencil skirt. Sized WAY down with a good result. Think can do at work with plain black slouch v neck ?

LadyMilfordHaven Wed 31-Jul-13 22:01:51

Ponty = liz McDonald. No no no

shaggyrogers Wed 31-Jul-13 22:05:22

LadyMilf - animal print pencil skirt could also be liz mcdonald surely?!!

I wear an M&S leopard print pencil skirt to work a lot. Plain black t-shirt and black blazer or cropped military-esque jacket.

I don't know who Liz M is, but I think long pointy boots are deffo in danger of being in, 'Lady of the night' territory.

Mine is rather like this one.

Was looking for LadyM's animal print skirt when I found this. Straight to the top of the wishlist.

Ooh that's lovely, Amber. Would be fantastic with neon. smile

LadyMilfordHaven Wed 31-Jul-13 22:21:04

Lol at blue skirt. There's someone at work who would wear that. She also owns a butter yellow leather skirt

LadyMilfordHaven Wed 31-Jul-13 22:21:55

That's the one Remus. I think.

LadyMilfordHaven Wed 31-Jul-13 22:23:14

Liz McDonald. Ginger frizzy. Bit slaggy. In a polyester way

She sounds lovely.

Yes, I think the skirt is fine for work - I always get v positive comments on it.

MrsCampbellBlack Thu 01-Aug-13 06:47:21

Like the leopard print skirt - nice with plain white shirt, but I have a thing for white shirts at the moment.

Amber - you can clearly see Hilary Alexander's influence in that blue skirt wink - am assuming she needs the money to get involved in per una.

Am going child-free shopping and a lunching today so will have a look round m&s as I find their website utterly shite.

bunnymother Thu 01-Aug-13 08:18:02

The red MD coat is divine MrsCB. It's on my wishlist. And I also want
black leather shorts,
lined tweed wool shorts (to avoid itchiness of wool),
Slouchy knits that don't make me look extra porky (maybe its thick knitwear that's doing it?),
Navy ankle boots
Animal print wool or cashmere scarf
Tartan wool scarf
H&M cotton bib front shirt
Fake fur coat and fur gilet (not really expecting to find ones that work for me)

Thanks for the Pure Collection silk shirt tip - I will have a look. My torso is quite short so I'll skip past the Whistles one I did have my eye on, if its actually long.

YouAintNoLady Thu 01-Aug-13 10:55:23

Grey boots to replace the ones I have just thrown in the bin - bloody loved those boots, so am on the hunt for some more like them and will buy them early in the season for maximum choice if I see the ideal pair.

Other than that, am going to see which trends really take off, as some always fall by the wayside and just buy a couple of bits and pieces, as fortunately already have fur gilets, leather skirt and some of the other basics.

I would love to wear the leopard skirt with a white shirt, as I absolutely love white shirts. However, they look beyond hideous on me so I never ever wear them. V pale skin plus norks = not good for white shirts.

LadyMilfordHaven Thu 01-Aug-13 20:18:49

i would too but I am so short waisted, that tucked in things can look a bit busty iykwim
