Wanting to avoid wasting further money....

Origins Ginzing eye cream - Doe absolutely nothing!

Peony and Moore Lucia bag- perfectly nice bag but never used. I tend to use a nappy bag or mulberry for work and just can't see an occasion when it would be useful.

Bare minerals - just too much faff, prefer Mac studiofix.

Aquascutum mac - exchanged for a larger size and it's just a bit too big. I was hoping to look classic and elegant but think I just look a bit swamped - so never worn.

Any others to add?

Nip + fab CC cream - I could just as well paint my face with an orange crayon. It just sits on top of the skin, doesn't look natural, during the day it melts and settles in stripes on face (not even in wrinkles!) and is just horribly orangey on me.

Any Mulberry leather item - breaks in no time, and then having to wait 6 weeks or so for the repair department to deal with it. The leather wears out after only months of using the bags, screws fall out, metal gets discoloured, inking gets sticky (and ruins clothes that touches it) or peels off, the leather gets discoloured. Just awful quality. I have loads of their bags and accessories, and it's just terrible all round.

I find Bare Minerals a faff too - just use the 'Translucent Veil' as a finishing off powder over whatever makeup I have on.

Most middle size bags a waste for me - either need to be big enough to take laptop and A4 files for work or else small crossbody that fits purse, phone and keys for weekend.

Shoes with heels over an inch - can't wear them.

Anything dry clean only - just sits in the washbasket!

wriggletto Tue 18-Jun-13 14:39:14

Liz Earle Hair Oil - did nothing for my hair, apart from making me wash it a day earlier than normal.

skinny jeans - they. don't. suit. me.

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation - too yellow and masklike for me; make sure you get the right colour

Amazinggg Tue 18-Jun-13 14:43:41

YSL foundation - too shiny and pink, but I feel I have to use it up anyway as it was ££.

Any top or dress made of silk or cotton that needs ironing - I won't do it, so it will sit unworn in an ironing pile forever after it's been worn and washed once. Long live polyester.

curiositykilledthekat Tue 18-Jun-13 15:01:11

That new Nivea primer.

Utter shite, have just chucked in the bin. Will stick with my MAC prep and prime SPF50, ££ but at least it works!

JazzDalek Tue 18-Jun-13 16:03:08

Benefit Dr Feelgood - couldn't figure out what the hell it was meant to do - certainly didn't do anything on me.

Yes to things that need dry-cleaning or ironing.

Burt's Bees night cream - I love Burt's Bees but this was really weird on my skin - it left a sort of layer which could then be rubbed like PVA glue hmm

Hair contraption, think it was Babyliss or Tresemme, sort of like tongs but with a brush on - supposed to be used to help blowdry straight - really cumbersome and ineffective.

Lush Dreamwash - sorry Lush, I love most of your products but this was awful, both on my dd with dry skin and on me with normal skin

Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser - just really underwhelming - and £££ more expensive than doing the hot cloth thing with basic oils

Any eyeliner that looks like a felt-tip pen - they run out in no time. Proper liquid or kohl only for me please.

dontyouwantmebaby Tue 18-Jun-13 16:27:15

Babyliss big hair.

Clarins beauty flash balm.

OPI nail envy. To be fair, any nail strengthener/protector/miracle growth etc treatment I've ever bought has been utterly rubbish.

Lipstick Queen. Saint Red. Like the lip colour but the packaging is shite; lid doesn't stay on. Not impressed as it was ££.

Chanel nail colours. Goes gloopy easily, there are similar colours with a better finish to be had for a lot less money.

themaltesecat Tue 18-Jun-13 16:31:38

YSL eye thingee. The one that is always raved about. Meh.

All Shiseido makeup that I have tried. I don't know what it is about duty free places at international airports that always convince me to give it one more go, but it is always flaky / unpleasant / useless / weird-tasting (the lippy, anyway).

And another vote for Chanel nail polish. Not a patch on the Rimmel stuff.

MolotovCocktail Tue 18-Jun-13 16:32:23

Heated eyelash curlers.

Clinique yellow moisturiser stuff (can't think of the name but it was not good on my skin - it was watery and too drying).

Moroccan Oil for my hair. At £30 a bottle, it does about as much for frizzy hair as products one that cost under £10.

themaltesecat Tue 18-Jun-13 16:33:15

Touche Eclat is the YSL one I meant. Just feels nasty on the skin.

JamEyelid Tue 18-Jun-13 16:35:11

Clinique skin care. I have never had a reaction to skin products before but Clinique made my face dry and feel like it was sun burnt. Ouch.

Nars duo cream concealer. I love NARS but that concealer was shite.

Clarks Angelica Slice loafers. They sliced my foot and will not break in. I have given up.

ShadeofViolet Tue 18-Jun-13 16:38:51

I agree with the Burts Bees night cream (the radiance one). So tight and sticky but cost £££

FarleyD Tue 18-Jun-13 16:43:30

Salycylic acid, did absolutely nothing.

Bourjois black waterproof eye-liner - coated my contact lenses in thick greasy layer, was like walking through fog!

Corygal Tue 18-Jun-13 17:26:14

Oooh, I love my aquascutum macs, even tho I look like a dirty old man/shoplifter. Capacious and light.

I bought a Hoss black jersey dress, size L, that is so small I can barely get my arm in the waist. I would ebay it but the cat nipped into the bag for a nap and the fur will never come off.

Gingefringe Tue 18-Jun-13 18:58:45

Shoes with leather soles - what's the point? They are slippery in the wet which limits their use to virtually never dry days in the UK.

L'Oreal Essential Oil - made hair greasy looking
Boots Curl Creme - ditto
Argab Oil - ditto, although using it on my face to avoid wasting it
Aveda Be Curly - did absolutely nothing and wasn't cheap
OPI Nail Envy - made my nails peel
Garnier BB cream - - too thick and orangey
All liquid soaps - give me eczema (took years to work that one out)
Silk pillow case - no improvement to either hair or skin, although it does feel nice.
Carmex lip balm - tastes horrible, will stick with Vaseline or Blistex.

I like Benefit Dr Feelgood, it does make my skin look smoother.

TheFallenNinja Tue 18-Jun-13 19:07:38

That packet of condoms.

8 month old currently in bed.

Touche eclat, terrible. I have a theory that I have bored on about before that models, editors and PR types find it great because they have big black circles under their eyes from the partying. Normal people find it does nothing.

Benefit in general. lancome packaging always falls to bits. My makeup bag, it's glittery (I know, what am I, 12?) and I constantly have to pick glitter off me with a fingernail, niiice.

SneezySnatcher Tue 18-Jun-13 19:35:25

Ninga grin

NewChoos Tue 18-Jun-13 19:40:09

Oh forgot about the Babyliss big hair - used once.

Laska42 Tue 18-Jun-13 19:41:53

OPi nail envy made nails really dry and then peel and flake also , IIhave think small nails as it is.. will never use that again..

A slendertone.what.was.I.thinking.of? ( will ebay it some January diet time)

QueenCadbury Tue 18-Jun-13 20:02:24

I agree with chanel nail polish. Chips within seconds.

Zara linen tees. Go shapeless.

Next linen tees. Go shapeless.

H&m linen tees. Go shapeless.

Moral of the story is never buy a linen tee.

However I could not live without my babyliss big hair!

BoomChicaBoom Wed 19-Jun-13 23:25:00

grin Ninja!

Agree about the mineral makeup thing, love the natural theory behind it but makes me age ten years in one sweep of the brush sad Tried taking it back as colour also too pale for me but snotty bare minerals cow said no as the next colour too dark?!

Also rather disappointed with ysl touch eclat, found clinique airbrush concealer to be loads better and actually conceal something...

mrsspongebob Thu 20-Jun-13 07:52:53

Estée Lauder double wear - waste of money. Made me look terrible

Bare minerals unless you have time everyday to do make up. I don't.

Laura geller primer. Bought a big bottle. Does nothing.

Lizzie Arden 8 hour cream. Greasy bleugh.

mrsspongebob Thu 20-Jun-13 07:53:41

Benefit benetint. Bought a bottle. Used twice. Can you sell used stuff on eBay?
