battlestarB Sun 16-Jun-13 15:12:19

me? i have spend tons in there lately, didn't think to wait for the sale

TiggerWearsATriteSmile Sun 16-Jun-13 15:13:14

When is the sale?

sleepdodger Sun 16-Jun-13 15:15:30

It's always one of the last... I'm sure ly was end July shock

EliotNess Sun 16-Jun-13 15:30:32

I've been sniffing around. Apparently last week in june. For all those summer clothes we need.

DanGleebals Sun 16-Jun-13 15:46:35

I too have been googling this today and it seems to suggest end of June. Problem is all the stuff I want is out of stock in my size so not likely to be in the sale anyway. I've already bought loads and still have a list as long as my arm. I only discovered Zara properly 6 months ago grin

EliotNess Sun 16-Jun-13 17:51:34

Oddly. I want some of their lurid trainers for a skool trip

charitygirl Sun 16-Jun-13 17:58:29

Hum, hadn't been looking at shoes , and have just seen a pair of dark leopard flats. Also, though this model has been my nemesis all S/S, maybe these trousers

charitygirl Sun 16-Jun-13 18:15:25

Those are well nice Eliot. I will keep my eye out for them.

ChablisLover Sun 16-Jun-13 19:39:29

Can I join the wait?

Looking for shoes - gave up ordering zara clothes online - sizing is too mad

legoqueen Sun 16-Jun-13 19:55:43

I'm in...obsessed with their blazers.

EliotNess Sun 16-Jun-13 21:32:46

thanks Amboid.

disney land bloody paris. I was to ashamed to say out loud.

EliotNess Sun 16-Jun-13 21:33:39

their shoes are so nice.

MIND YOU i pulled a guy on the train station platform last night in my $20 River island sale shoes , kind of neon blue heels.

he wasnt mentally ill at ALL

EliotNess Sun 16-Jun-13 21:34:04

love those too chazzer. I am a bit scared of trainers tbh.

battlestarB Sun 16-Jun-13 21:36:22

i have two pairs of those slub knit trousers, charcoal and blue, have never seen them in any shop so had to order online. they're really nice for summer (if we get one!) as they are thin

battlestarB Sun 16-Jun-13 21:38:25

Dan I have noticed that they sell out of stuff quickly but then it appears again in store for the sales so you have to physically go to a store and hunt around. love their sales!

EliotNess Sun 16-Jun-13 21:39:57

do you know , Battle, I have never done them. Our nearest one is 20 miles away and by the time summer sales start in the last few years I have been so hacked off about not wearing things, I have lost my joie de shop.

HOWEVER this summer I will buy things i can wear all year around.

I recommend the envelope clutchI linked to elsewhere, maybe not in the neon like wot I got but it looks $$$ than it is

EliotNess Sun 16-Jun-13 21:51:07

not sure about the bRAWWWWN kimono tbh

battlestarB Sun 16-Jun-13 21:55:19

their bags (leather or suede) are always worth snapping up in the sales

i have a zara real close so always seem to be in there, love the way they have a quick turnover of stuff

love their metallic pleated skirts atm

charitygirl Sun 16-Jun-13 22:33:47

Well, I'm not sure either - but I feel a kimono could be very me so I need to order a few to try. All the youngsters are wearing with shorts - but I would wear with any slim trousers or joggers. It is either that or lash out on a MuuBaa jacket - probably better on a cost per wear.

Termsandconditions Mon 17-Jun-13 09:39:48

My sister was in Zara yesterday, they sales assistant told her the sale is to start next weekend. So I suppose that means Friday Saturday or Sunday?

EliotNess Mon 17-Jun-13 11:54:41

oh my god
Good detective work

DanGleebals Mon 17-Jun-13 19:45:55

Great! Better get myself a baby sitter sorted for next weekend then. It's sad that I get excited about this isn't it? !

EliotNess Tue 18-Jun-13 20:37:13

28th it seems

charitygirl Tue 18-Jun-13 20:39:09

Oh 28th is ages away. Bollocks.

Popped into actual Zara today - no kimonos to try. Clearly too popular and have all sold out. Sob. Do not want to buy a bloody boring bloody blazer again.

Amazinggg Tue 18-Jun-13 20:43:16

Oh great, I'm away for a weekend in the sticks then. No shop and quite probably no 3G.

Their January one was the longest running sale ever known though, with decent stuff for about 6 weeks, so maybe no rush. I think shop is better than online if you can get to one.

CeeceeBloomingdale Wed 19-Jun-13 07:10:45

So sad but I'm getting excited. charitygirl I bought a fab kimono from pull & bear (Zara's cheaper sister) which was only £22.99 at full price.

Lonelynessie Wed 19-Jun-13 09:43:13

Just checking in, I'm a Zara addict! I've only ever bought in store though, does anyone know what their delivery is like? (I'm trying to avoid a similar H&M delivery disaster)

EldonAve Wed 19-Jun-13 10:06:50

Delivery has been fine for me. Returns are by courier but you book it all online

charitygirl Wed 19-Jun-13 12:04:25

Really - I had no idea, but that does explain their quick turnover and sometimes reappearance of items. And thanks for Pull&Bear tip too - I never look there!

HollaAtMeBaby Wed 19-Jun-13 23:38:43

Marking place. Excited!

EliotNess Thu 20-Jun-13 06:56:22

What time do you think ..?

No idea online I'm afraid, stores are opening at the usual time. Going to make a list tonight when I get in of what I want!

Oh- if you look online, they changed all the items yesterday so that certain products now say New Collection underneath when they didn't the day before- might give you a hint whats in!

EldonAve Thu 20-Jun-13 18:13:43

Zara FB says starts at 00.00

mummylovescakes Thu 20-Jun-13 18:48:13

Just got an email from them. Sale starts 00.00 tonight!

legoqueen Thu 20-Jun-13 19:23:44

So glad I checked this...fingers crossed!

thenightsky Thu 20-Jun-13 19:50:27

shock I'll actually be in Barcelona when the sale starts!!! Will be hitting the big one.

AndiPandi Thu 20-Jun-13 19:55:21

Is it just me or is the website currently closed, just a sign saying SALE

Heavywheezing Thu 20-Jun-13 20:45:01

Well it looks like it starts at midnight tonight

EliotNess Thu 20-Jun-13 21:35:06

Omg

charitygirl Thu 20-Jun-13 22:35:35

Right! Focus.

Lighthousekeeping Thu 20-Jun-13 22:38:21

Will they send gear to your local store? Any good for festival gear I wonder?

Store delivery is out until the 23rd if I remember the website rightly. Lots of nice bags I have my eye on!

Lighthousekeeping Thu 20-Jun-13 22:42:28

Damn I'm going away on Tuesday! I'll never get it on time.

You never know! I ordered on monday, 11pm, delivered yesterday at 1pm.

EliotNess Thu 20-Jun-13 22:51:07

Why midnight? I'm so tired

MacaYoniandCheese Thu 20-Jun-13 22:57:56

We don't have a sale in Canada sad.

For anyone who's considering a kimono though, I bought two (usually a blazer girl) and I LOVE them. Perfect light topper for summer. Pair with boyfriend jeans, ballet flats and a cami.

OhCobblers Thu 20-Jun-13 23:55:58

Has started!

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Jun-13 00:03:18

Bloody hell they've only got a tenner off

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Jun-13 00:27:01

Let's just home it all arrives for Glastonbury or else I'm screwed!

EldonAve Fri 21-Jun-13 00:41:21

order done

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Jun-13 00:50:27

What did you order? I didn't think there was much reduction.

EliotNess Fri 21-Jun-13 05:35:02

hahhaha! KIMONO!

i got meshoes

EliotNess Fri 21-Jun-13 05:43:48

so ti appears flatforms didnt work as a genre

EldonAve Fri 21-Jun-13 06:20:43

few pairs of shoes, bag, scarf, dress (which will probably go back)

charitygirl Fri 21-Jun-13 06:47:20

Oho Eliot! A kimono eh? Wonder where you got THAT idea.

Also just bagged my overpriced polyester kimono in 'toffee'.

EliotNess Fri 21-Jun-13 07:42:41

no no, they dont suit me, i saw for you!!

charitygirl Fri 21-Jun-13 07:59:15

Oh I see! Yes, discount wasn't huge and I am fully prepared to take it bak but I need to scratch kimono itch and just see if it suits. Well done on shoes - once you go trainer, you never go back.

Hopasholic Fri 21-Jun-13 10:51:28

They didn't have the kimono I wanted sad

It was there as full price stock the other day and can't find it now (went on the website at 00.01 too) < mixed up shopaholic that I am grin

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Jun-13 11:07:49

Does anyone know how big their dresses come up? I'm. 14 will largish boobs. I just went for crossover type dresses.

ChablisLover Fri 21-Jun-13 12:30:42

very disappointed in their discounts

The shoes im after are only £20 off and the ones I bought 2 months ago only have a tenner off them

will be waiting further discounts

CointreauVersial Fri 21-Jun-13 12:57:01

Checked in at 11.45pm to see if it was live.....

£220 later......blush

I keep telling myself "it'll all go back".

Kimono-thingy, coat (half-price), two jackets, sandals, jeggings for DD1.

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Jun-13 13:00:41

My friends just been to the shop said there was hardly anyone in there

I was in Zara this morning and it was empty. Tried on some jeans, would probably stretch after half an hour so didn't buy. Changing rooms empty. Got a striped top (dull) and necklace (non sale) - no queue to pay, either. Weird. It was nearly lunchtime too so expected it to be heaving. Cath Kidston (returning children's gift) otoh was heaving!

EliotNess Fri 21-Jun-13 15:48:00

Small. Go huge

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Jun-13 15:48:35

Alot of the tshirts /jumpers looked quite raggy I thought.

Pandsbear Fri 21-Jun-13 16:07:29

I went in there this morning (didn't know there was a sale on before I went by). Empty of people...but rails and rails of stuff. Bought a bright green cross body bag that I lurve. Nothing else I wanted.

noddyboulder Fri 21-Jun-13 21:45:44

Disappointing online, isn't it? The Mango sale is much better (and this season, the clothes have been too - heresy, I know).

nipersvest Fri 21-Jun-13 22:00:08

was in cambridge today so nipped in, got this top that susie so so blogged about recently, was reduced to £12.99!

Lighthousekeeping Fri 21-Jun-13 22:10:12

That's a nice top. My boobs are oo big though.

charitygirl Fri 21-Jun-13 22:15:17

Zara hasn't been great AT ALL this season - I've bought one scarf and one top. But they have got more kimonos than anywhere else...

CointreauVersial Fri 21-Jun-13 23:48:14

envy Nipers, I really wanted that top but it wasn't on the website.

nipersvest Sat 22-Jun-13 08:19:32

cointreau, i think i was really lucky to spot it in store, there were 2 in the cambridge branch, both size 'm'. i'd previously looked in leicester but no joy there, but it is hard to spot as they have a lot of similar white tops in their range right now. could kick myself now for not having bought them both as i've realised now i could have offered the other one here or ebay'd it.

EliotNess Sat 22-Jun-13 08:25:07

agree - poor this season

bunnymother Sat 22-Jun-13 15:49:45

Last season I bought lots of things from Zara, but I think I only bought a few things this season. I went to the sale yesterday, and only bought tshirts for DH and sandals for the DDs. I wasn't moved by the women's wear at all.

catslave Sat 22-Jun-13 16:49:07

I don't get why people - bloggers particularly - aren't into Mango but love Zara so much. I have to do most of my shopping online as I live in the south-west aka the 1950s, and they at least have more than 5 items for sale. Zara only puts the gopping stuff online. Any decent stuff has a picture up, but is unavailable when you click through.

bunnymother Sat 22-Jun-13 17:29:50

I also love Mango - it's less ubiquitious than Zara. Mango has just gone on sale and already many great items have sold out. I might have to brace myself for a visit to one if their shops. Never a great experience, but often worth it.

EldonAve Sat 22-Jun-13 21:21:41

Mango have fewer shops than Zara don't they?

EliotNess Sat 22-Jun-13 22:17:57

Was in the shop today was dire

EliotNess Sat 22-Jun-13 22:18:49

Think there are more zara shops than mango. I get any mango from John Lewis because of free delivery. I've only been to a store once and that was in Paris.

nipersvest Sun 23-Jun-13 10:18:42

i buy from mango, whenever i've been in a branch of zara there usually seems to be a mango nearby. my favorite dress is from mango, bought online. the only issue i have with mango is i find their sizing small, i am a 12 and am a 'L' there and even that is a bit on the tight side. zara sizing is slightly more generous.

all the fashion bloggers have gone cuckoo over these cotton quilted jackets this season, there were a lot of those left in the cambridge zara, not my cup of tea though, they remind me too much of the 70's!

Lighthousekeeping Sun 23-Jun-13 10:42:43

I'm regretting my order now. I hope I can send it all back.

EldonAve Sun 23-Jun-13 10:44:10

Returns are easy
I only expect to keep half of my order

battlestarB Sun 23-Jun-13 10:52:28

i like mango but thought the summer the stuff looked crapola and cheap. usually prefer the autumn/winter collections though.

For Zara I find the longer you wait the cheaper stuff gets (in store) at the moment the reductions aren't very noticeable.

My order has been despatched, due to be delivered tomorrow but I've had to delay it for a few days til I'm off work.

rubylovescheese Sun 23-Jun-13 13:28:45

by next weekend they will prob do the next wace of discounts. maybe more worthwhile then. nothing I really wanted in the sale.

EliotNess Sun 23-Jun-13 19:26:06

Yup. Quilted jkts as vile as rise gold watches

EliotNess Sun 23-Jun-13 19:26:37

Karaoke. Get it delivered to work

MrsCampbellBlack Sun 23-Jun-13 19:39:08

I love quilted jackets but ebayed my zara one a while back for as much as I paid for it.

I only really like zara for coats and jackets, too much polyester/viscose generally for my liking.

And the reductions are tiny online.

EliotNess Sun 23-Jun-13 20:14:57

Yes. Although I have some silk from there I love. Plus good scarves.

CointreauVersial Mon 24-Jun-13 22:17:42

Zara parcel arrived!

Am keeping a gorgeous yellow jacket and a black coat (bargain less-than-half-price) and a couple of pairs of jeggings for DD2, but the rest will go back.

The quilted jacket I decided would date too quickly (and the sleeves were too tight), and the kimono thing was like a soggy bed-jacket.

belledejour Mon 24-Jun-13 22:40:53

Ooh I have ordered the vile 1970s quilted jacket in two sizes (such is my love for it) as wasn't sure which one would fit in the trafaluc range and it should be arriving tomorrow...then went into one of the stores on Sat and bought two more, one white jacquard (a la Susie Soso), one Isabel Marant-ish blue one...now have to work out which one to keep cue furrowed brow & angst-ridden features
I agree -didn't think discounts were much cop.
People often rave about Mango then when I go in there I am always so disappointed.

EliotNess Mon 24-Jun-13 23:21:39

I got the trainers. Yay. And some tan kid heel "blocky sandals" that were nice but I don't need. Have ordered some black courts with gold toe cap instead

EliotNess Mon 24-Jun-13 23:21:59

Wtf is trafaluc btw

EliotNess Mon 24-Jun-13 23:23:39
EldonAve Tue 25-Jun-13 00:16:30

trafaluc is the yoof section

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

threepiecesuite Wed 26-Jun-13 09:00:43

I bought this dress in the sale in-store in Zara on sat. Wore it to an occasion Sun and everyone admired it. Had to make an alteration under the arm as one of the shoulders was a bit loose.

charitygirl Wed 26-Jun-13 20:47:27

Update! Brown kimono actually great - looks like silk, great length and drape. Is going to look brill with denim and twill trousers, and, though I shouldn't...with shorts.

It's not really a solution to my jacket needs tho.
