Woo hoo! Over here.........

shopafrolic Tue 07-May-13 22:16:33

Lovely evening with another fab friend keeping me company. Really missing DH now....
I am loving the new Sam Edelman Gigis - really comfy. I should have tried them sooner. Will have to keep my eyes open for other colours that are reduced.
I have a big work meeting on Thursday - need to start planning what to wear.......
A Wang tees have been despatched - I have high hopes!

shopafrolic Tue 07-May-13 22:33:00

Am I the only one still up? Lots of Goldsigns on the Outnet.......
<twiddles thumbs>

Yey.....well done shop
Just ordered
Not terribly exciting, but v practical. Was supposed to be ordering the Me +Em dress but got sidetracked!! grin

Goldsign s...I'm off

Dp goes away with work next week, only for a couple of days but it will be weird being alone sad

shopafrolic Tue 07-May-13 22:40:54

Phew! Thought I'd lost you all for a minute.
It is weird One. I had a rough afternoon with DS this afternoon, culminating in him accidentally headbutting me at bed time. I thought he'd broken my nose!! Made me miss DH even more as was in desperate need of some moral support and a hug.

santamarianovella Tue 07-May-13 22:41:26

yaaaay, a new thread!
lots of cavalli stuff too,i never liked their stuff ,hate the patterns.
and it seems they read my comment about using a real model, everything looks so much better now grin.

Hey Shop sorry you are missing DH, the evenings are always the hardest sad. I would love to hang around and chat to keep you company but I did two sessions of kickboxing today and suddenly feel like I have been hit by a ton of bricks and need to go to bed soon smile. Don't buy too many things as consolation for DH being away grin.

I chickened out of ordering the tube skirt that foxy linked to in the last thread. I'm far too scared of unleashing my jelly belly on the unsuspecting public. A twin pregnancy, c-section and then a five stone weight gain hasn't done my figure any favours sad

It really is going to be weird not having DP around shop I'm not used to being home alone and am a bit worried that I'm going to be very lonely and bored

shopafrolic Tue 07-May-13 22:48:39

You'll be fine One everyone here will keep you company. I'm enjoying having the bed to myself, it's just hard looking after DS solo and I think he's starting to realise that daddy has been gone a while.
Am hitting the sack now myself. Well done on the kickboxing Sleep very impressive.
Anni glad you've got drugs and hope you're feeling much better.
Wishing everyone a decent night's sleep after all today's dramas.....

santamarianovella Tue 07-May-13 23:01:50

shop DD had a major tantrum at the shops this afternoon,i feel your pain.
little lady dont worry too much, you will be fine.
very impressive sleep i can barely lif my arm after one session.!

noviceoftheday Tue 07-May-13 23:18:41

Thinking of you Shop and the sick Voguettes like Anni. Long day so am off to bed!

LinusDKD Wed 08-May-13 07:07:26

shop I hope you had a good night!

None of the Goldsigns are in my size. angry. Not that I need another pair of jeans.

What I do need are more belts, what is the best place to look for them?

I specifically need a red belt to wear with white trousers (and white skinnies if I ever find a pair that I like)

Hopefully Wed 08-May-13 07:11:14

linus have you tried The site is naff, but the belts are lovely quality.

Boo, rain here today. So that was summer then?

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 07:33:36

Rain due here too.

Feel vile, hardly slept. Need to get ds2 to school somehow...

MrsR, I've pm'd you.

Decameron Wed 08-May-13 07:34:20

OneLittleLady, get a stack of books, magazines and DVDs in, he'll be back before you know it.

Hope your nose is ok, Shop, and your DS' nose too, Hopefully!

How are you feeling today, Anni and QueenC?

Linus, I bought a great red belt from Comptoir des Cotonniers but it was a while ago.

I ordered a pair of grey Misfits from the Outnet, I have them in dark denim and I wear them loads <justifying>.

Paris, no idea about what to wear in HK but it sounds like an amazing trip.

Can't remember anything else, should have made notes!

Decameron Wed 08-May-13 07:36:23

Oh yes, congratulations on your twin nephews, Shop!

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 07:41:27

Well done Shop, bumper edition!

I'd be the same, sorry to hear it was not good at bedtime (can completely get why that would make you miss your dh).

Dang, Goldsigns, doubt any left going to have a look.

Why is it that when I've done a huge denim wash it bloody rains?sad
My no black week lasted precisely one day!grin

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 08:15:16

Morning all! So I have a bit of a black eye! Which is always a good look. DS is definitely starting to play up with DH away. Lots of fuss over food which he normally eats straight up. The prospect of spending a rainy morning stuck indoors with a whingeing toddler is not appealing so we'll have to head out. Seeing friends for a playdate this afternoon but that feels very far away at the moment.
I think it was me who jinxed the weather by buying the Gigis and 2 pairs of shorts for DS yesterday. Feel free to throw things.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 08:15:48

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 08:30:25

Thanks Shop and everyone.

Have a look on flannels Shop, they had some yellow/beige patent ones in the clearance bit for £40.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 08:36:52

Not there now Anni - no worries, no rush. There's a lovely all brown pair in a size 5 though for the smaller footed amongst us......

carrie74 Wed 08-May-13 08:40:05

Poor Anni, really hope the fug lifts and you feel better v soon.

shop hope things better today with DS. How much longer to wait now? And thank you for starting new thread thanks.

Sad not to see the sun this morning, but OMG, Massimo Dutti has some gorgeous things in at the moment, have pinned loads. Especially love the maxis. Am feeling a bit meh about MD though, as last time I ordered, I got one hero piece (silk shirt), one awful piece (cowl top that was just ill fitting), and a belt which has been ok, but not worn it loads. Maybe it's all about choosing the right material and the rest falls into place.

Right, late for SR, see yous later...

blondambition Wed 08-May-13 08:51:29

Blimey you lot have got some pace on, I've missed loads again! Hope all the poorly people are on the mend flowers.

Shop huge congrats on becoming an Aunty to twins, how lovely! Also well done on the Gigis grin

So, erm, just out of interest talk to me about Goldsign sizing.... do you size down normally?

Decameron Wed 08-May-13 09:10:46

Blondambition, I have Goldsign Lure (size down) and Misfits (my usual size).

Off to Mothercare in Hammersmith, oh the excitement.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 09:39:26

Blond, my Goldsign frontier's are a 32, my diva's are a 32.
But I'm a 31 in Hudson and just got some Gap jeans in a 30.

That probably doesn't help you at all grin

Migraleve has worked again, just feel shattered now.

Sofa day with cbeebies for us.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 09:44:16

Decam if you see any short sleeve Thomas the Tank pyjamas can you let me know? <random>
Waves to Blond I had to size down in Goldsign Lure too (thanks Decam)

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 10:02:42

yes size down to goldsigns, mine are a 24 and i'm generally a size 8.

LinusDKD Wed 08-May-13 10:09:29

hopefully looks like a nice website, thanks.

anni my DH used to get horrible migraines, so bad that he had to throw up. Hope you feel better soon.

shop DS also hates it when DH travels. Last Sunday when DH said he was going to go away on a plane, DS went to the front door and started to to put on his shoes and said 'DS also plane'.

It broke my heart to tell him it was just daddy going on the plane and tha he had to stay with mummy and his sister.

I have some time this Saturday to go shopping on my own so will check out Comptoir des Cotonniers for belts decameron

Hopefully Wed 08-May-13 10:24:29

<weeps at the thought of a 24" waist>

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 10:30:32

Silver Superga are here in the smaller size and are lovely.

Quite blingy but they look nice with crop jeans and a white tee.

There's a few little blobs of glue on the fabric which is annoying me but I really don't think I can be bothered to order yet another pair.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Wed 08-May-13 10:41:07

Hi All

I think I have caught the virus from DH. Huge waves of nausea and a very full feeling in my stomach. I'm supposed to on the phone most of the day so that could be interesting! Hope the rest of you are on the mend.

I have no idea about premium denim, maybe I should have a try on when in London. I get most of my jeans from River Island. Usually they fit really well but I bought some skinnies from there and they are huuuge! They are a size 8 and there is no way that I'm a size 6. I thought they might have the wrong size label in so I tried more 8's on and still huge.

Great belt link. I'm looking for a skinny cobalt belt to hold up crap jeans mentioned above!

UPDATE: It's official, I couldn't hold back the puke any longer. I'm annoyed because, apart from terrible migraines, I'm never ill. I haven't had a stomach bug for over 10 years!

Sorry, ramblings....

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Wed 08-May-13 11:34:06

Does anyone know where this jacket is from? It's just what I've been looking for!

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 11:43:02

i think it might be zara, paris. lots of the bloggers have a similar one atm which is from there.

get well vibes to those still in need x

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 11:53:28

I think it's Zara too Paris
Although I did see a white jacket on Whistles site the other day.

Hope you get better soon.

Really hope we don't catch the sicky bug.
I think it'd finish me off.

I've just posted the Adena's to MrsR
They are beautiful but don't fit perfectly.
Think I want them in the grey but need to try a smaller size.

Also returned the Maison Scotch star scarf.
It is lovely, but the stars are only on one side, so the other side is plain with rough looking bits, where the back of the stars are.
So it needs fiddling with, to look nice...
And life's too short to spend time arranging a scarf grin

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 11:58:15

good call anni, very satisfying to make a decision one way or the other.

did the grey cashmere/silk scarf arrive? what do you think?

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Wed 08-May-13 12:04:42

Zara again? If I'm not careful I'll end up looking like a crap advert for bloody Zara! I'll look at Whistles.

Anni I love returning stuff, makes me feel like I've earned money <idiot>

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 12:24:16

It's not here yet Foxy sad
It was dispatched last week but obviously delayed due to the bank holiday.

Gap order of dresses and skirts due today.

And I've just ordered yet another pair of silver Superga.
The size 6 is in perfect condition, but the 5.5 has loads of glue on the fabric, more than I thought.

My hallway resembles a sorting office
I'd forgotten about the lovely but bloody enormous Matches boxes.

I do feel quite virtuous when I return stuff Paris grin

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 12:34:00

So I've had the weirdest morning. I went to our local M&S food where DS proceeded to have the biggest tantrum ever - thank God he was strapped into his buggy (which was why he had a tantrum!) but I couldn't get him out, push the buggy and carry the food shopping. Nightmare. I was so embarrassed that I had to go and sit in the car and cry afterwards. He's normally really good but he was really missing DH this morning so I guess that isn't helping.
Anyway - to cheer us both up I took him to the park and which random celebrity was there? Patsy Palmer AKA Bianca from Eastenders with her two boys and DH / DP. Her youngest boy and mine played on the train together and we had a bit of a chat (I pretended as though I didn't know who she was even though I was dying to ask for a photo!). Her boys looked very cool (and are v good looking kids). She was just wearing jeans and a black puffa jacket. I guess she must live round here as the studios are quite close by.

blondambition Wed 08-May-13 12:38:49

Thanks for feedback all on Goldsigns. I am being good and not ordering, wardrobe is overflowing with jeans.... however, Foxy am intrigued to know how the white slouchy jean hunt is progressing! Have you ordered any yet? (think we are similar size/have similar styles so may shamelessly copy grin)

Paris get well soon. I also think like you when I return stuff. Makes me feel virtous!

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 13:04:19

how quick are matches with dispatch/delivery, anni? if I order now will they get here tomorrow? we leave early friday for a long weekend so if they won't arrive tomorrow I'll have to wait till next week now

blond will pm you later just off to pick up DS

Decameron Wed 08-May-13 13:31:20

Matches aren't the quickest, I've found, although I am in London.

Get well soon, Paris. I even feel virtuous when I delete things from Pinterest!

Mothercare have closed down there, Shop, grr, so I went on one of my most hated roundabouts for nothing! I might go to another branch tomorrow so will check. I have tickets for the Pompeii exhibition but trying to decide whether to pay again and go some weekend when I don't have to bring DD2. She had a massive strop in M&S too, it must be the day for it. I love Patsy Palmer's hair.

Decameron Wed 08-May-13 13:31:56

Get well soon, Paris.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 13:33:10

I think if you order before 12 or it might be 1, then you get them the next day Foxy

Could you get them delivered to where you're going to?

Scarf's just arrived and it's so soft.
The grey matches my eyes grin

It's quite a dressy scarf, would look nice with navy Whistles jacket etc.

So i'd still like a more casual one, like the Maison Scotch one... or Becksondergaard etc.

Crappy mprni

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 13:34:50

Stupid phone...

Crappy morning Shop, except for the celeb spotting grin

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 13:45:30

yay! they are super soft aren't they, i'm so pleased with mine. such a bargain.

no DH will freak if i get stuff ordered to the house, fair enough really, we want a total escape with no internet or consumerism!

i think i'll wait and order next week. I also have to wait till actual anniversary (28th) for my jacket under DH orders! delayed gratification all round.

MrsRadicchio Wed 08-May-13 13:48:15

Anni sun20 gives 20% off at and they have the becksongaard scarves. Thanks for posting shoes!

Shop, that is funny about pp. I didn't realize she'd returned to eastenders. But I haven't watched it for years. Hate the public tantrum. When is your dh back? You are going a great job, its so hard parenting solo 24/7.

Paris, hope you feel better soon. Is this a mnv bug?!

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Wed 08-May-13 13:51:07

Thanks for the concern you lot. My main problem should be that I have a big deadline this week and I can't keep out of the bathroom for more than 10 minutes. My actual, secret problem is that there is a mahoosive wodge of coffee and walnut cake in the kitchen that I can't eat and will go stale soon shock

Shop Sounds awful. I have almost forgotten what it's like to have littlies. Mind you, a teenage tantrum from a 6 footer is a sight to behold! (impending GCSE's and a DS who couldn't give a damn!)

Anni Scarf sounds great, especially as it matches your eyes. It would probably match my skin today!

Dec Ooh! Let me know if the Pompeii exhibition is any good.

QueenCadbury Wed 08-May-13 13:53:11

Cool for mingling with the celebs shop.

Didn't feel up to toddler group today and didn't want to risk passing anything on so went shopping instead. Dd is surprisingly good if you let her out enough and give her chocolate and fruit shoot. Did a trying on session but just bought these trousers. I'm hoping that as they're linen mixed with cotton they won't do that horrid bagging saggy look after 5 mins (am I going to be disappointed). Thy didn't have the maxi skirts but the dresses were made for giants. You must have to be t least 6 foot for them to fit. Tried a couple of the shorter dresses too but they just looked odd and shapeless.

Took the pink ballet flats back as decided if it's warm enough to wear them I'd rather be in sandals so got some pink havs instead.

I had been lusting after a top in damsel in a dress but so glad I didn't order as it looks like a lovely cobalt colour online but in reality is so not.

QueenCadbury Wed 08-May-13 13:54:37

This was the top I'd been lusting after. I forgot to link.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 13:55:54

Agree re: PP's hair. If you google her there is a DM article about her recent move to our area and she's been papped at the petrol station in her Yoga gear. She's obvs just had a blow dry as her mane looks incredible!

ProveYourLoveToMe Wed 08-May-13 14:00:55

Gah, I namechanged (was iss im ma) and everything in order to join this thread for the new shiny edition and then my car broke so I'll be spending £££ on that and just pinning pretty things.

Boden skinny belts are leather, £20 and nice and simple.

US 6 gigis on the outnet for 37 I have the tesco version of the Gables

shop I am beyond jealous! I would NOT have been able to play it cool and would have had to get a cheesy snap.

anni I'm also in a returns muddle. My swedish hasbeens arrived with nicks to the leather on one shoe and a grubby thumbprint! I got them using a discount code so can only exchange, not refund. P&P will be £15 and although they claim to repay P&P if faulty, I get the feeling they won't. Tbh, customer service has been pretty naff - they haven't responded to a couple of messages. And you have to message before returning if damaged. Gah again. SO as they were £45 and as they're going to get marked anyway AND they fit like a glove, I may just put up and shut up.

santamarianovella Wed 08-May-13 14:01:41

hi all!,
shop that was me with dd yesterday afternoon ! i had to bribe her with a dairylea dunkers!,when is your DH coming back?maybe you can ask him to get you the thomas tee from there?the selection of thomas toys at toys r us are better then here,my sil bought dss lots of lovely thomas the tank engine toys and pjs from there.
hope your feeling better paris, and i love the jacket, might check it at the weekend
sometimes matches dispatch orders on the same day,and at other times it will take up to 3 days for it to arrive!

QueenCadbury Wed 08-May-13 14:03:47

Ooh nice hair.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Wed 08-May-13 14:10:45

Santa I can't find the jacket on the Zara website. If you find it could you please link?

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 14:21:18

Waves to Proveyourlove ha ha! I kind of wish I had gone for the pic now. I was a bit dazed after the tantrum episode and also got the impression she just wanted some down time with her kids. She's very naturally beautiful.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 14:29:19

So the T by A Wang slub tees have arrived.
long sleeved
They are fab and will come in really handy. The vest is crying out to be worn with a maxi. Am going to keep my eyes open for a dark green one. Has anyone tried this one?Whistles maxi

Hopefully Wed 08-May-13 14:31:40

I think the Zara biker jacket the pic looks like is this one, but I'm sure it isn't, as I tried on the Zara one the other day.

Am having the least productive day ever. Again. I always feel wiped out when I work all day and evening, but every time I convince myself I can keep going for the whole of the next day!

Hi everyone, that white jacket is definitely Zara but not on the website. It has appeared on quite a few blogs, including DMBL40 I think. Very nice. I am taking the one I picked up there last week back, it is just a little too small under the shoulders and the medium was a bit too loose round the waist...Zara sizing is a law unto itself sometimes. Think I may end up going back to Massimo Dutti for the linen one, even though it is much more £.

You lot have me thinking about a maxi skirt now! Have spotted this AllSaints one, which I think may be nice, especially with the Sam Edelman or ash sandals.

Sorry to hear DS isn't taking Daddy's absence too well Shop, they do get used to it quite quickly though, faster than you I suspect smile. Also sorry about your poor face. I saw a friend dropping off at nursery earlier and she is in a terrible state, a cricket ball hit her hard in the eye on the weekend and she has a massive shiner and black and blue face poor thing. Hope yours isn't that bad!

On celeb front, I was kickboxing alongside Jude Law last night, he is pretty fit (in all senses of the word) grin. Two of his DC's (very pretty DD) train with my DS1 so have been sat watching them with him before but this is first time I have seen him training.

How are we doing on MU arrangements Marsha, do you have a list of who is attending? Really looking forward to it smile

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 14:36:59

And Sleep wins celebrity top trumps with a major hottie alert! I am so envy

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 14:38:54

Sleep there's 7 or 8 of us meeting at the venue I sent a while back, unless anyone prefers somewhere else - I have no idea where's best nowadays. Will mail everyone again as a reminder in a few days

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 14:40:22

hmmm not sure about that maxi, shop. it looks like the waistband wouldn't be v flattering and there is a lot of material. i prefer the all saints one, in fact have just pinned, thanks sleep

i have a velvet (the brand, not the material! yuck) maxi dress from about four years ago in khaki, it's gorgeous. wore it yesterday with nude ash high tops and a low slung wide brown belt, got loads of compliments on the SR grin. might be worth checking out, shop?

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 14:42:51

Sleep! Kickboxing with Jude Law definitely wins. I might join you wink

I have sitting near Michael Fassbender at lunch (and secretly, a Made in Chelsea member but think I might be alone in that one grin).

Meet up yes really looking forward to it, I think there's a final list somewhere, Shop shall we just go with your venue? Will pm.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 14:42:54

I know what yo mean Foxyi need to keep looking, the All Saints one is lovely from the front but I can't do the split up the side........will take a look at Velvet thanks.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 14:44:10

grin at the celeb spotting.

My last celeb spot, was the wild-haired man from the Safe Style windows advert.
We use the same bank.

I'll get my coat...

I love Velvet foxy, have some fantastic things from them, always so easy and comfy to wear. I tried on a fab coral T shirt dress (Me&Em style) by them in Anna the other day and it was lovely except a little low cut for me (feel like mutton exposing too much 40yo cleavage, wouldn't have bothered me pre-DCsmile).

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 14:45:32

I love a bit of MiC action Marsha. smile

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 14:45:42

Lol Anni up until a couple of years ago my biggest claim was Jim from Neighbours.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 14:46:23

Can anyone link to a Velvet website?

santamarianovella Wed 08-May-13 14:46:32

paris it's on the US site
sleep how did u manage to stay calm with jude law next to you!i would have stopped breathinggrin.

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 14:46:52

And that was before OC fame.

Me too Shop. It was Amber. Was so excited, felt I could tick off my life list. grin

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 14:48:11

Am still envious re Jude Law. Friend saw Cam D and Gwynnie out once, should have been there.

grin Anni!

The thing you have to remember when contemplating kickboxing with hotties Marsha, is that red faced and sweating in kickboxing kit is very rarely anyone's best look, certainly not mine...probably not even said hottie's grin, so its a bit of an odd situation ignoring for a moment the fact that of course he wouldn't look twice at me even done up to the nines! Tbh JL doesn't do much for me, until he speaks of course...OMG he has a lovely voice.

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 14:51:12

shopbop stock velvet. i got mine from maze, i think they have boutiques in bristol and bath. the anna of the southwest wink

this was the dress I tried, but Anna doesn't have it on the website.

santamarianovella Wed 08-May-13 14:54:44

Michael fassbender is my ultimate crush marsha !, the only famouse person I saw is Dustin Hoffman ,
Here is the link shop

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 14:57:02

my maxi isn't on their, unsurprisingly as it's about four years old. great quality though and the fit is so perfect and flattering.

foxysocks Wed 08-May-13 14:57:20

I pinned this one last week too, they also have it in store at Anna, am very tempted. The trouble with Anna is there are too many nice things, choosing just one is so difficult and getting two or three ends up being £shock! Last week I wanted the Ash sandals, the Velvet maxi, an Anna cashmere came away with nothing!

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 14:59:19

Thanks all - I know what you mean about Anna sleep when I went in for my Gigis I didn't dare browse!

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 15:01:07

She hasn't been in it this series Shop. She looked good (tiny, they always look so tiny, imagine how small Weez must be!)

Am very envious re Kylie and Tom, they are on my list of good to see.

Ryan Giggs Shop. My 14 year old self would be mad with jealousy.

If Jude Law had been kickboxing with his mate Robert Downey Jnr I would be red faced and flushed without having to move. Roawr!

I'm very unstylish today as I'm having to wear things I can put on one handed as I'm in a sling (doctors orders) and am still vomiting because of the pain. I can't even get a bra on as DP was out before I woke up this morning so my babylons are running wild atm hmm

santamarianovella Wed 08-May-13 15:09:39

I have the splendid skirt / tupe dress and it looks good with tees it's this :

Loving the links...ESP the Velvet dip dyed maxi. I'd love a black maxi skirt...if anyone sees a petite one please let me know!

shop I'm like celeb spotting. Worked in Harrods years ago, couldn't contain myself!!!mine aren't as cool as yours.
Cliff Richard when I worked in Waitrose in Weybridge as a Saturday job.
John McEnroe.
Princess Di ( god bless her)
Reece Dinsdale and lots of Corrie actors who I never recognise.....Marlon from Emmerdale was in my gym ( ugly)
Mandy Smith (tiny tiny woman)
Barbara Cartland ( when I worked in Harrods, scary)
Martin Johnson ( rugby player and body double for Hagrid, the biggest human I've ever seen!!!)
Lots of Middlesborough footballers I've never heard of
Liza Tarbuk went to my school.
Harrison Ford spoke to me!

But none as good as J Law in gym kit or PP ( who is quite stylish)

LinusDKD Wed 08-May-13 15:59:16

foxy and anni I ordered that scarf in French Lavender but it hasn't arrived yet. The cobalt is still OOS. angry

queenC what a lovely top but I hate when colours are different irl! My Maison Scotch neon breton is a lot more neon than in the pictures and the 'maroon' Paige Denim skinnies I bought in the HoF sale are neither maroon nor the colour in the pictures. Luckily it is a nice raspberry colour I love so I am keeping them.

proveyourlove thanks for the tip re Boden belts, I ordered one in blue/green.

shop some lovely tees.

I have some lovely Velvet dresses I bought when I still lived in London, I hope they still fit post DC's.

What do you all think about this belt:

QueenCadbury Wed 08-May-13 16:25:06

My slebs are:
-the bloke that played Keith miller in eastenders. Saw him loads as lived in the same town and looked exactly the same irl yet always had girls hanging around him in the pubs hmm
-Charlie brooks (janine in eastenders)
-rob Brydon at the Eden project
-kate moss at Cotswold wildlife park
-honor Blackman

Sure there must be more but can't think of them.

QueenCadbury Wed 08-May-13 16:26:45

Good selection of belts in esprit

QueenCadbury Wed 08-May-13 16:29:19

Oh forgot Tom cruise. He was filming eyes wide shut at a hospital I worked at. I could barely get through the door for my night shift for all the screaming girls outside. He is tiny. Seriously. 5'4 tops.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 16:58:04

Has anyone else got visions of Foxy on her weekend away, crouched in a bush trying to get internet on her phone like Miranda on her honeymoon in sitc? grin

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 17:24:42

Ha! bet Foxy is über stylish even when internetting in bushes camping. grin

That is tiny QueenC.

One - who (tf) is Frank Turner? grin

ROFL - I just googled him and I'm still none the wiser grin

He's a musician grin I didn't know who he was when I met him to be honest. He is rather good though

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 17:34:29

Lol Sleep. No clue here.

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 17:36:06

Ah x post.

Yes lots of minor slebs here, still love it.

Mylene Klass (tiny)

God who's that panto guy not tiny, in a Hawaiian shirt.

Ted Rogers (of Dusty Bin fame)? grin

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 17:39:34

Ha no. Damn who was it. Really 'entered the room' with entourage. Made me laugh.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 17:40:14

My celeb spots...

Lloyd the taxi man, years ago before he was a taxi man, at a club in Yarm.

David Beckham when he played for Manchester, in various clothes shops, and clubs. He was wearing a sleeveless tee one day and had lovely arms (pre tattoos)

Ryan Giggs out clubbing a million years ago.

Little teeny tiny Prince Naseem Hamed out clubbing.

Various famous dj's

Dave Pikey (sp) bloke off tv

Lee Sharpe gave me a birthday kiss, a million years ago.

Sue Pollard (wearing zany glasses) in a hotel in b'pool.

Prince Philip shook my hand when I was about 6. I can remember that I didn't want to, think my teacher made me do it hmm

Naomi Campbell pushed my friend out of the way, in a club in Ibiza once... she was rather excited about it (friend not Naomi)

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 17:43:11

Oh god emailed dh (of great importance obvs.). It was Christopher Biggins. Fear I may have built that up with suspense grin.

Anni that's funny about your friend/ Naomi.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 17:44:06

And a tall pretty woman who used to be on corrie. Unusual name... Will google and find out.

Also Del who used to be on Corrie
Who was out with the blonde guy who was the new minder.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 17:47:34

Tupele Dorgu... very pretty irl and incredibly tall.

ProveYourLoveToMe Wed 08-May-13 17:52:52

My sleb spots: Chris Evans, Heston Blumenthal, Trigger hmm, and Bubbles from The Wire in a Starbucks in NYC. I wanted to stalk him but DH stopped me.

I'm also on a maxi hunt - navy, slim fitting/not floaty, no slit, long enough as am tall. Help!

ProveYourLoveToMe Wed 08-May-13 17:58:02

Oh, and a skirt not a dress. They always me look 6mo pg.

santamarianovella Wed 08-May-13 18:01:44

i had to google half the slebs mentioned here !
ani,i would have slapped naomi!what a biatch.
and is that chris evans from the avengers movies prove?

im loving the velvet maxi dress ,why did you link it sleep!,i promised myself not to buy any this year.

Hi prove - is this any good?

I live in celeb central so won't start listing! Our nanny in particular loves it, she plays celeb spot bingo grin.

oh - and sorry for linking the maxi santa (or I will be if it goes OOS before I nab one!)

I have an American Apparel one that fits your requirements Prove.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 19:34:24

I've PM'd
Novice and
Amber about the London meet up on the 18th. If I've missed anyone please shout!!!!

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 19:49:27

QueenC how can you forget teeny tiny Tom Cruise? smile

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 19:50:42

Marsha I've never met your DH but I bloody love him! Christopher Biggins!!!!!

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 19:51:16

Sleep name drop like mad when we meet please!!!

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 20:05:37

lol Shop! he's even worse than me, he loves it. Ah maybe not, we're as bad as each other. grin. Although he sees better ones.

Sleep feel free to bring a list to the mu wink.

Looking forward to it, thanks for pm Shop!

My DH is comically hopeless at recognising celebs, to the point where he noticed the very attractive woman (that he is good at wink) sat a few feet away from him in a hotel bar, his business partner noticed him noticing and nodded in such a way that DH realised it must be someone famous so raised his eyebrows at partner who wrote down her name (too close to whisper it!) It was Angelina Jolie grin!

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 20:36:33

My DH refers to her as the one with the BJ lips!!!
Nice to see your face Sleep

Yours too shop! Your DS is such a cutie too, looks just like you smile

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 21:03:24

Ha ha! Nice of you to say so, most people tell me he looks the spit of my DH! You looked fab at your pool party, those shoes are just stunning. It's going to be funny meeting everyone IRL. Really looking forward to it. smile

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 21:04:55

Ah I don't do fb! otherwise would join in.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 21:11:37

Remembered another...

Elle Macpherson in an Italian restaurant, St Lawrence Gap, Barbados about 10 years ago. She looked stunning.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 21:15:05

Wow Anni good one!
Marsha get thee on FB. Are you on Twitter?

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 21:20:13

I've left it too long, too late Shop. I can't get with it now.

Just pinterest and mn for me! (and small fb group but no pics or anything). You know who covers the blog / twitter / linked in side of the house.

MNV FB ? Have I missed something? confused

santamarianovella Wed 08-May-13 21:27:56

ani wow,you spot a lot of supermodels!,we saw that banker guy she briefly dated last year in the south of france, cant remember his name, but sadly not her.

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 21:32:26

No no Dry! Not mnv.

Elle M is a good one.

Primarily so we can recognise each other at the MU dry, but pm me your name and I will send a friend request, not that I post on fb often, just had a sudden little flurry last week smile

libertychick Wed 08-May-13 21:34:24

Evening all!

Shop I ordered that Whistles maxi in black and it's due to arrive on Friday so I will provide a review.

Zara coat and bag arrived today. Coat is going back - I do like it but when I was thinking through where I would wear it I was thinking 'bar, theatre, west end for lunch' and I only do those things occasionally unfortunately. It's not work suitable and it feels too try hard for my usual weekend stuff. If only I was 28 and out socialising all the time. I am debating the bag - I really like it, good size and the patterned monochrome really suits me, strap not ideal, a bit skinny but that could be remedied...but I keep promising myself a bit of a splurge bag so considering returning it and then putting the cash aside towards something a bit more luxurious later this year.

I keep losing posts so sorry for not commenting more on other people's links - have very limited time to browse ATM too. Glad to observe there is a general 'recovering slowing' vibe going on today.

Annianni Wed 08-May-13 21:36:29

I keep remembering others...

Becks, with the Mrs and a couple of the kids, at a concert years ago.

And a Westlife boy... small, brown hair... is it Shane?

And sorry to disappoint but I wasn't at Ibiza that year, so I missed Naomi.

libertychick Wed 08-May-13 21:46:38

And I am hopeless at spotting celebs - never recognise them.

Can't remember who linked the Boden skinny belts - they are great - was in the shop in Park Royal a few weeks ago and liked them a lot.

Hopefully Wed 08-May-13 21:52:19

I never see celebs. Boo. You'd be amazed how many don't choose to live in Devon. Although I was on Rolf's Cartoon Club as a kid. Does that count? And DH and I got really entertainingly excited when we saw Rod Stewart in Liberty a few months ago. <loser>

Liberty that coat is lovely, but can see it's not exactly a practical every day one grin.

Must go to bed, have been knackered all day today.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman Wed 08-May-13 21:59:00

What on earth has happened? I go away for a few days (patchy wifi, turned roaming off on my phone due to £300+ bill for my last few days in Ireland blush) and we are on page six of MNV 10????
Copenhagen was as lovely as ever, but didn't get much shopping done. Had a rushed hour this morning but it kept hammering with rain so I gave up, never even made it into Illum, one of my favourite shops in the world. Returned home to big box from Reiss, slightly smaller one from J Crew and the rip off Vuitton leopard scarf which cost £11.49 and is 30% silk 70% wool! I didn't imagine it would even actually come, never mind be such good quality! Too knackered to do a try-on tonight, I'll wait until DH is away working tomorrow and then hide everything grin.
Had a quick glance through the thread - my brother looks like Jude Law (impressively so) and regularly gets mistaken for him when in London. He's been quite embarrassed by gaggles of girls on several occasions and propositioned by gay Aussies on the strength of it. I used to work at a coffee shop in Kensington and at Bally in Knightsbridge, so we had loads of famous faces coming in, but that was waaaay back in the 80's <shuffles away on zimmer frame>

libertychick Wed 08-May-13 21:59:13

Unless you count Irish celebs - as Ireland is so small everyone meets everyone eventually - I knew Dara O'Briain on a 'hello' in the corridor basis at uni and was quite good friends with Ryan Tubridy at that time (*Decam*, Grumpy and Pickled will know who he is - he is v famous in Ireland) but we lost touch after graduating.

libertychick Wed 08-May-13 22:02:45

Welcome back Grumpy even with logging on every day keeping up is difficult. What a shame you didn't get to Illum but good to hear you shopped anyway! Looking forward to the links....

Of course ! Now I get it! I thought you'd all wear the MN jumper/scarf etc....if I could come I'd be wearing the necklace of dooooooom !grin

santamarianovella Wed 08-May-13 22:07:18

liberty i watch ryan tubridy show.he seems nice.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman Wed 08-May-13 22:11:02

Hey liberty, it seems everyone I know knows Hector (Navan man, y'see).
My last famous person was also Elle MacPherson anni, strangely in Universal Studios Orlando a couple of summers back. She even posed for a photo with my sil and was very relaxed and stunningly beautiful (and really, really tall!)

libertychick Wed 08-May-13 22:13:09

Santa he is lovely - such a nice man. The interest he shows in people is very genuine.

libertychick Wed 08-May-13 22:15:34

Ah yes Grumpy Hector is the man! I must be the only Irish person then who doesn't know him! I listen to his show for 5/10 mins in the morning while gulping down the coffee before work - he is always so cheery.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 22:16:06

No no Dry I just PM'd my real name to the London meet ups as I booked the table at the restaurant. And because my surname is a bit obscure it means people can track me down on FB quite easily and have a nose! Also means i might recognise a few people when we first arrive!
Would love to hear your thoughts on the maxi Liberty
Anni how can you forget Becks???????

GrumpyOldHorsewoman Wed 08-May-13 22:20:05

Whilst re-visiting the Pink Peonies website I have happened upon these. Now I know I said no more shoes, but these look great in every colour and I am already ordering from Nordstrom....

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 22:21:17

Marsha are you not even on LinkedIn? You should be for the freelancing......

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 22:26:16

I know I went on and then freaked slightly at the amount of people I knew in the side bar. I realised it would be same for me. It's because I do two things and got worried that people would see my name in the other role. So ended account.

Would have been great to have two accounts, one for each, a shame it's not possible.

shopafrolic Wed 08-May-13 22:27:36

Curiouser and curiouser smile

Oh Grumpy they're gorgeous and would go with so much. I'm addicted to her blog!
I went into town to pay some cheques in and fell into Bennetton and came out with
this on cobalt blue
Not v exciting, but v useful, made me think of Ambers cobalt blue cardi the other day on her blog

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 22:32:05

I know am a riddle in a puzzle, only jokes grin will pm.

MarshaBrady Wed 08-May-13 22:41:37

That's nice Dry.

Welcome back Grumpy! Shopping sounds fab.

MrsRadicchio Wed 08-May-13 23:36:03

Argh I want to see what everyone looks like <stamps foot>. Can someone take a picture at the meet up??

Shop, I tried that maxi on in whistles. It did nothing for me as the gathered waist added inches to my hips.

I just got an American apparel tube maxi. Think its the one amber mentioned up thread. 100% cotton too.

I have seen quite a few slebs, living in London, but always forget them. Seen a lot of musicians who were big in the 90s, bobby Gillespie, Bernard butler, Louise wener, graham coxon, John power.

I'd love to see Kate moss. Was it you, anni? Bet she looks amazing.

Going to think of more now...

Most recent was Alan Davies - not too exciting!

MrsRadicchio Wed 08-May-13 23:37:42

Have seen kirsty and Phil. She is much prettier than she looks on tv.

McNally Wed 08-May-13 23:42:20

My most recent was Sue Pollard and the lady from Birds of a Feather. Actually, I see them all the time. I live in a very glamorous area grin . Work near TV studios so see loads of celebs like Myleene Klass. Best was running into Bill Clinton in New York.

Topazandpearl Wed 08-May-13 23:53:32

Ryan Tubridy was doing some cover on Radio 2 last summer (for Graham Norton, perhaps, maybe there is a rule about having to have Irish people on grin). When back in Ireland, I like to catch up with the Late, Late, but still find it odd that it's not GB presenting (showing my age!) Agree that he seems a nice person.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 07:05:31

MrsR if you're on FB and want to connect then PM me and I'll send you my details for a friend request. You'll get bored of my incessant ramblings though. I'm addicted!
Morning all. Big retailer MD meeting today. Wish me luck. Wearing blue A&W chinos, cream silk shirt, nude LKB Floretes and Reiss scarf, Mulberry Bayswater. Hope it's smart enough. Not sure if I should be wearing a dress but the weather is lousy again.

MrsRadicchio Thu 09-May-13 07:15:31

Good luck for the meeting, shop. Outfit sounds good. I'm another one who is not on Facebook!

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 07:38:44

Good luck shop

Decameron Thu 09-May-13 07:51:47

Good luck today, Shop. The outfit sounds great. I sent you a friend request. Your hair suits you so well.

Liberty, I'm jealous, I love Dara O'Briain. Topaz, GB lived nearby and his daughter was in my class, my granny was thrilled!

I have met some members of U2. The Baldwins and Howard Stern (!) went to my gym in New York and I sat at the table beside Hugh Grant. I was in the lounge in JFK waiting for a flight and Robbie Williams was beside us. DH was mortified as I kept walking past him to have a look. Also they filmed Sex and the City near my friend's apartment so saw SJP and co a couple of times. David Schwimmer was filming a movie near where I lived and they shut down the area, which put me in a big temper. Rudolph Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg had offices in my building so took the lift with them a couple of times. I normally never recognise anyone until after they've gone by. A couple live around here, including Anneka Rice. I wish she'd wear her jumpsuit.

Agree Boden belts are good.

Oh good luck shop sounds exciting. Outfit sounds lovely

I'm wearing today cobalt blue and black today....not looking much like Amber though sad

Decameron Thu 09-May-13 08:15:29

I love that combo, Drywhite, am sure you look great.

MarshaBrady Thu 09-May-13 08:30:47

Good luck Shop love your outfit.

Dry sure you look fab.

Day off today, dh and I no dc. Will be nice!

blondambition Thu 09-May-13 09:26:05

Shop good luck, love the sound of your outfit, v chic. Quick Q re the A Wang ts - how is the sizing? I am tempted as need a couple of off white basics. Is the muscle tank v oversized?

Dry cobalt is one of my fave colours, though am an Autumn so not supposed to wear it <rebel>

I don't get to do much sleb spotting where I live but am v good friends with a famous sportsperson. Was once on children's quiz show hosted by Darren Day though grin.

I'm wearing cobalt and black too drywhite <quelle surprise>

Annianni Thu 09-May-13 09:39:29

Good luck Shop

The Gap skirt is nice QueenC, the size large touches the top of my feet when on.
I'm 5'7

I'll do links in a minute, shattered after trying clothes on.

noviceoftheday Thu 09-May-13 09:42:22

Morning all! I have a little anecdote for you. Ds overdid it on milk last night and bless him, he puked all over my suit as I was late so didn't get the chance to change. I felt very glam wiping the puke of my Armani jacket and dressgrin straight to the dry cleaner this morning! He's absolutely fine.

Shop that outfit sounds terrific.

Annianni Thu 09-May-13 09:42:24

I'm wearing a grey Gap tee
Navy wide leg Swetty Betty yoga pants
And gold hav's

Sodding bin men were blocking the road when we went to school... so all the waiting cars saw me looking rough sad

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 09:44:33

good luck shop

enjoy marsha i love those (extremely rare!) days

cleaning and packing here for hols tomorrow. DC free for the morning and have organised playdate for bigger one so only DS and I this arvo, hopefully I can get him to help. give him a duster or something.

no purchases since the cobalt scarf but have virtual baskets ready to go before we leave tomorrow morning. just waiting to see if the bits I want go into the outnet weekend shop in tomorrow <crosses fingers, toes, legs etc>

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 09:46:34

oh no novice! armani puke. that's a good one to wheel out on his wedding day grin

am wearing coral zoe k 'love' tee with bleached blue skinnies (james, from outnet clearance a few years ago - £18!). had R&B biker (yep, still in love) on for school run with vejas.

am seeing lots of neon trainers on the SR, clocked two this morning, love it.

QueenCadbury Thu 09-May-13 09:53:32

It was me that saw kate moss. She's actually fairly ordinary looking irl but I love her more for that. She was with her daughter and Jamie. What shocked me is she's short (well not short exactly but she is by supermodel standards) and has bandy legs. Dh and friends had to stop me stalking her all way round the park grin.

Trying to have a month off new purchases as I've got a couple of hours shopping in Birmingham at the beginning of July so I want to be able to justify to dh that I can buy stuff then. I've been whingeing lately that he's working so much but as he says I can't have him at home lots and have £80 tops. Fair point.

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 10:01:52

queenc i've learned to time my purchases with periods when DH is super busy or away a lot. i never keep things secret but timing is everything i find smile

am LOVING the 'sales tactics' board, spaghetti!

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 10:04:28

Sorry on BB so can't see back easily. Blond I bought M in the Wang tops. I'm size 12 on top with 32E chest and they both fit well. Not too fitted, not too baggy.
Anni are you feeling better?
Novice I got puked on last night by my friend's DD, not a good look
Marsha enjoy your day
Can London meeters PM me to let me know if you're coming? I need to adjust the table booking and just want to confirm with you all. Thanks!
Sat in car in rain waiting to go in. Feet are freezing!

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 10:09:21

Meant to say Wang tees are a slub fabric, lightweight and when new the slub rubs off a bit. Not sure if I'm making sense. Basically a lovely soft but textured fabric.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 10:30:11

Loving the cobalt and black outfits. Cobalt is one of the few colours I wear, usually with white <eurotrash!>

I'm deliberating selling this and this

They are both lovely and I have had compliments in both but I don't feel like they are really me. The skirt has an elasticated waist as well, which doesn't go well on my wide midsection! Do you think they will sell on ebay?

If I sell them, my jacket and sandal search can continue!

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 10:32:27

what size is the skirt, paris? and what material? and how much do you want for it?

Annianni Thu 09-May-13 10:42:42

Poor you Shop... other people's puke is never a good thing.

I feel slightly better, just shattered but when I stand up, I get terrible pressure in my head.
Amazingly I can drive fine... probably because i'm sat down quite still.
I wouldn't drive, especially with the ds's in the car if I didn't feel ok.
But my period started yesterday and due to medical issues atm, they're grim. So i'm housebound for a few days.

Now, dresses etc...

This grey striped is quite nice on, quite a heavy jersey... but the stripes change at my fat tum, so it doesn't look nice.

this colour is fab irl but the gathered waistline does nothing for me. Nice dress though, for anyone without a tum.

black & white stripe is my favourite but the drawstring waist looks daft, I'd remove it if I could, as it looks fab... but the way it's stitched means the stripes are wonky when pulled down straight sad

So if anyone has seen anything similar, but a plain column type then let me know please.

another fab blue colour but that bloody waistline again... Gap please can you make some dresses without the crappy elasticated waists.

blue shorter length hideous on me grin

fab grey maxi skirt love this... smaller size looks fab worn on the hips, and it's down to the top of my feet (i'm 5'7) it's quite straight ish on the thighs, then flares out from my knees. Tried a bigger size which was more flared and did look nice, but was huge on the waist and would drop down with the slightest of toddler tugs grin

lovely white cotton blouse someone has linked this before on here. It's very pretty but too big and I can't be bothered ordering another size.
Might try in store if I see one.

French Connection jacket is quite nice but absolutely enormous... I ordered a 14 and a 16 to try as I wanted it a bit loose, the 16 is here and it drowns me. Wait to see what the 14's like.It looks like a useful jacket for Autumn though.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 10:44:22

Foxy You probably wouldn't be impressed, it's viscose but feels like crepe! It doesn't state any size but the waistband measures 28 inches so prob to big for you too envy. It's long though, trails along the ground on me so I can't wear it. I thought about putting a starting bid of £25 as they seem quite popular.

santamarianovella Thu 09-May-13 11:03:53

Morning all,
Good luck shop
ani, I love the second gap dress,
queen, your DH makes an excellent point.
I might try ordering stuff while DH is busy , foxy, it seems like a good idea, hope it works,
The skirt and dress are really lovely paris and they are in demand,I think they will sell quick,
Enjoy your dc free day marsha,we had one of those a couple of days ago.

Annianni Thu 09-May-13 11:34:54

Decameron dvf on the outnet, alsorts of lovely-ness including scarves.

McNally Thu 09-May-13 11:47:55

Good luck shop. Outfit sounds fab so that's a pretty great start!

Good haul Anni. Agree about the Gap dress waists. Tried a short one on the other day. Wanted to look like this. Actually looked like this. sad

Annianni Thu 09-May-13 11:48:49

Paris start it at £24-99 instead of 25, it'll be cheaper for you to list it.

Annianni Thu 09-May-13 11:52:38

McNally that's just what I looked like too grin

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 12:12:34

Thanks Anni

McNally I spend so long looking for clothes on blogs rather than trying them on myself that I am always quite shocked when I don't look like the 6ft, lean limbed, tanned godesses that I got the ideas from. I never learn!

Decameron Thu 09-May-13 12:14:13

Thanks Anni. I like some of the bags but can't sneak another one in for a while. Great Gap buys. Hope you get well soon.

Novice, DD2 peed on my Me & Em dress the other day, brand new and first time I wore it. At least it is machine washable!

Grey Goldsigns arrived, I've decided my grey Mother jeans are nicer so back they go.

Paris, I didn't go to the Pompeii exhibition, am going to rebook when I don't have to bring DD2 as she is in full toddler mode at the moment. Refusing to get in the pushchair, shouting "My do it myself" and so on. <Sigh>.

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 13:00:37

just ordered this for £10 delivered. much nicer than the AV one I was looking at on matches and way cheaper. v happy!

santamarianovella Thu 09-May-13 13:06:15

foxy which color did you order,I want the grey one but can't find it .

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 13:07:56

Gah! That bloody skort I bought a few weeks ago is everywhere now (apart from Nottingham, the land that style hath forsaken)

I haven't worn it yet, shall I return or run with the fash crown for a while? As I said, Nottingham has failed to recognise the delights of the Zara skort in favour of ill fitting see through leggings.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 13:08:35

It's very flattering, might I add!

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 13:09:27

I meant crowd, fash crowd

Hi all, seems its the day for cobalt,I am wearing neon yellow vest, cobalt cashmere and white cropped skinnies (keeping you company on the Eurotrash bench Santa grin) with silver toed leopard flats and yellow bag.

Eww at puke stories, not good, especially with Armani!

smile at "my do it myself" Decam, ds2 says "I do it by my own", so sweet when uttered not in tantrum mode anyway

Nice Gap stuff Anni. Paris I'm sure those maxis will sell well. I need to put a load of kids stuff on soon....

The skort is fab Paris, love that pic with the leopard heels. I have the heels but probably not brave enough to wear with the skort though smile. I would keep, it's not an investment piece, just enjoy it!

QueenCadbury Thu 09-May-13 13:21:41

Hahahaha!!! I'm just laughing at myself. You know how my last post said that I wasn't going to buy anything else...? Well as I was early for toddler group I thought I'd look at the local boutique. Bought this, a scarlet cardigan and a necklace. Oops blush. In my defence I had a red cardi on my mental wish list and the necklace is lovely (can't find a similar link anywhere) and is about as statement as I can get, and the top I just loved and will wear lots. As it's yet another navy top, dh probably won't notice. He'll deffo notice the cardi though as it is bright (red lipstick bright but hopefully he won't hate this!).

Will catch up on the other links now...

Dangerous talk Queen. I have given up making no shopping promises, even to myself! Something you never knew existed will pop up and suddenly it is an essential purchase grin

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 13:43:00

it was the grey one santa but looks like might have been the last one in XS, worth checking back occasionally for returns.

Decameron Thu 09-May-13 13:45:03

I like the skort, Paris.

Totally agree on the shopping bans, Sleep. If they were on your list, QueenC, it's a result!

I am wearing cobalt ballets (ballet flats, ballerina shoes, never know what to call them), grey skinny Mother jeans, black IO top and rediscovered Botkier black trigger bag.

Toddler child is asleep, phew!

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 13:45:17

sleep that sounds fab, I love the yellow/cobalt/white combo will def try that with my white jeans.

queenc cute top, very you! love how we get to know each others styles on here.

keep the skort paris, i like it. you were ahead of the game, obvs.

Ah hell, now I have seen your blue converse Queen, they are very nice <tries to block from brain>

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 13:59:37

Yellow/cobalt/white does sound amazing.

QueenC Love the new top.

I read somewhere that men don't notice how much stuff you have, or anything new as long as they don't trip over it. DH agrees. He also said that he thinks I'm buying more than I am because I agonise over every little thing that I buy so he feels like I'm buying everything I look at, rather than the 1 in 100 things I look at.

His advice to me was 'As long as we're not suffering financially just buy the fucking stuff. You don't have to have my approval, you have good taste, you'll look great, just don't involve me!'

it's different on the rare when he has to buy something though, I have to trail around the shops for hours with him. Luckily I love it!

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 14:53:13

Hi all. So the meeting went well, it definitely makes you feel more capable when you wear a good outfit!
I whizzed into Zara afterwards and have made a discovery - I can't wear biker jackets.
None of the jackets I tried on are on the website so I can't link. Sizing was all over the place (an XL was too tight!?). I tried the cream jacket that was linked to from a blog up thread, that was the nicest of the lot, it had some pale blue in it though so not a good option for me and the sleeves were too short. There was also a great white rubberised biker that was lovely but again, white is not my friend and the sleeves were too short.
So I went to GAP, stocked up on vests in green, orangey red and a neon yellow, and bought neon thin belt
DH come home tomorrow at 10ish. I cannot wait.

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 14:56:15

Ha shop that's like me and blazers. I just can't wear them at all, whereas bikers and I are BFFs.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 15:04:12

I tried on some of those lovely chanel style jackets once, God, I looked so matronly, I had a bosom shelf. I have a feeling bikers might do the same!

Love a blazer though.

Shop did you try this?.

Thought it looked quite nice though the models on the Zara site always seem to be wearing 2 sizes too big. Maybe I'm just tarty?!

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 15:07:41

No Paris the shape would probably be much better on me but it would need to be cream. I wanted to try on the cream kimono but they didn't have it in my size.
I was also absolutely shock at all the polyester in there......

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 15:18:00

Shop are you going to have the kimono delivered to the store? It's free and they put it in a box with tissue paper and a little sticker grin

You can tell I can't afford to buy designer very often can't you!? That's why I have to ignore the no polyester rule. I have noticed on my fantasy shopping trips that a lot of v high end involves synthetics now though.

Hopefully Thu 09-May-13 15:23:31

Paris I have ordered the skort, have literally just had the text from Zara saying it's waiting in store for me. I know it will feel very last season in about 8 minutes time, but I can't resist the temptation! I am actually thinking it will be good for cycling and looking stylish. <wise>

Nice belt Shop. The high st is polyester city atm. Drives me demented. Agree with Paris that high end doesn't preclude polyester either (and a frankly frightening amount of lycra). It is incredibly hard to find good quality anywhere right now - as likely to find odd pieces in Topshop/Zara as VW Anglomania/Marc Jacobs.

Had a lovely group of clients today, I bloody love my job grin.

I have decided that I need some tops, shoes and accessories. I was idly working a mental project 333 list, and realised I have nowhere near enough of any to give me any kind of outfit variety. Not doing too badly on skirts/trousers (would be doing better if I actually took the dry clean only ones to the dry cleaner...), but definitely need more of everything else. I have fewer than a dozen t-shirts/shirts/jersey tops of any description, three cardigans and one blazer. And a waistcoat. Useless.

santamarianovella Thu 09-May-13 15:27:27

it appears to foxy, but im impressed with j.crew my lace skirt arrived,it took around 4 days. very pleased ,im just waiting for the equipment shirt to arrive.
sleep i like the way you think, and with the wonders of e-shopping,there are always great deals around,i might not shop in sale though still having nightmares from my trip to selfridges in late dec grin.
that top is lovely queen
paris,my DH shares the same views as yours,
shop i look awful in blazers too, but that white jacket looks lovely, its similar to the vanessa bruno one on matches .

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 15:39:19

Hopefully Congrats on the skort! What colour did you get? I agree that it will be good for cycling. I have just worn it to take the washing in and it looked magnificent! I think it is a keeper, though ubiquitous!

Santa I'll have a look for the Vanessa Bruno jacket on matches.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 15:54:32

Santa blazers work well on me, just not bikers. My leather jacket is a bomber style (I really want another one exactly that shape but in brown). I'm not going to order the kimono as I don't think I do floaty very well! But it was v pretty (and the tissue paper and sticker sounds ace Paris smile )
Maxi skirt for me next..... in dark green / khaki. Shout if anyone sees a good one. Quite fancy pleated, or do you run after a toddler in a tube skirt?
Kudos to the skort wearers - I don't think I'm brave enough to get my legs out to that degree!

I've just given up on Zara now. I went in when we had the W&A mini MU, and everything looked cheap, crumpled and disposable. I hate that in a store (see also H&M), so I turned round, walked out and took my money to Kate Spade. I know people can and do find lovely things in there, but I just can't be arsed sifting through crap. Ironically I say that sitting here in a Zara blazer which is the best cut jacket I have ever owned. It is bobbling like buggery though and is of course the highest quality poly-viscose blend. Grrrr.

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 16:09:13

I agree amber. The whole place would go up like a shot if exposed to a naked flame. Ethics also absolutely appalling. Bought one thing from zara this year which I returned, and last year only bought three tees. Over it.

McNally Thu 09-May-13 16:15:31

I've got some good stuff from Zara and see others in good stuff too but hate going into their shops. The new one at the Marble Arch end of Oxford St looks a bit more civilised though.

Have concluded that bikers don't work on me either which means a trek to return my Comptoir des Cotonniers one, sigh <lazy>. Like the look of leather bomber style jackets but don't want actual leather. Hhhmmm.

Really like that botanical print George skirt on Amber's blog. Very pleased it got her seal of approval as would never have thought of looking there otherwise. Think I'll try it with a dark coloured t shirt for work. My workplace definitely isn't ready for neon!

Glad today went well shop. Looking good is a real confidence boost and then you're halfway there.

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 16:18:59

Another one who looks better in blazers than biker jackets. To be fair I haven't tried on any biker jackets but generally I look best with a nipped in waist so I haven't bothered even though I love them on other people.

Just tried to buy a gap belt (v similar to the one you bought shop but in periwinkle blue) on the U.S. website (UK and EU websites don't deliver to where I live) and the p&p was more than the belt was worth! angry

Might try and buy it anyway on the UK and have it delivered to a friends mum and ask her to send it to me but maybe it is too much of a hassle just for a belt.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 16:21:12

Amber thank God for that - I see so much Zara on blogs but I was struggling to see what the fuss was about TBH. The only shoes I ever owned from there ripped my feet to shreds.

Continued request for London meet up Voguettes to reply to my PM. Thanks smile

QueenCadbury Thu 09-May-13 16:28:08

foxy funny how you know my style without having met me! But yes, it is very me which is why I had to buy it. Talking of never having me we should organise a Bristol/SW meet up as we can't do London.

I can't do blazers either although would quite like to try a jersey one. Never tried a biker as not personally keen on them. Chanel-esque jackets I love.

I've only ever bought a linen tee in zara which was crap and shapeless after it was washed. I've tried a few other things on in there but they've never fitted right. I always love the look of their shoes and bags online but can never seem to find them in store. I agree that h&m always looks like a jumble sale and you really have to rifle through to find good stuff. Love the kids stuff though.

The idea of a skort is fab and whoever has it definately keep it. I can totally imagine you in it hopefully.

QueenCadbury Thu 09-May-13 16:30:01

shop do you read susie so so's blog? Just the other day she was saying how she thought she owned loads of zara when in actual fact she'd ordered loads but returned most of it.

MarshaBrady Thu 09-May-13 16:33:59

I'm the same with Zara. Looks ok online, but in store Covent Garden is a shambles. Think it's the fabric quality that puts me off. Plus working near there for years I bought too much of it.

And would have to go for blazer not biker too, can't really do the latter.

Day was lovely, dh actually had to work in the end conference calls etc but from home. Will redo day tomorrow.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 16:34:43

Ha! No QueenC I'll take a look!

Nothing ever fits me in Zara. I seem too curvy in all the wrong places for their clothes sad

MarshaBrady Thu 09-May-13 16:49:14

But I do really like that skort Paris keep it. Run with the fash crowd, you'll look fab. I really liked it when I saw it on caramel blonde one.

Like your quote. Just buy it grin

Well done Shop!

And funny to be writing skort.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Thu 09-May-13 16:52:26

I have quite a few things from Zara. Probably because my local one is 2 streets away from my house! I don't buy vest tops or t shirts from there though as the seams twist.

I'm very much a high st shopper. I daren't buy designer stuff because at least at the moment I don't have anything nice to compare my clothes to!

Dec Shame you'll have to rebook the Pompeii exhibition. I'm v tempted to go <sad archaeology graduate>

Hopefully Thu 09-May-13 17:34:59

I quite like Zara for buying into a trend I really don't want to spend on. But our local one is beautifully neat and easy to navigate (was surprised at mess in a London one recently), so quite enjoyable to visit.

After almost a week of doing the 30 day shred, I have dropped HALF a dress size. that's right, I am now finding my size 18 jeans too loose but 16 is still a wee bit too tight. Hopefully the weight loss will continue like this and I'll be back to a more bearable size by the end of summer grin

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 17:49:51

Wow! Well done One that's fab!

santamarianovella Thu 09-May-13 17:52:27

i just reread your post shop,i got it mixed up with foxys , as much as i love the look of blazers i cant work them, they drown me.but biker style is great on me,i look taller in them even with flats on!

hopefully i agree with you, i bought coral jeans from zara last year,as they were on trend and didnt want to splurge on the j brand ones, and they were pretty good,

well done little lady,

novice puke on suit...oh dear. I had puréed carrots down my back for a whole day once....bloody Andrea (or whatever her name is) Karmel! Agree that being puked on by a non family member is worse though shop. On the plane back from holiday a kid puked a few rows infront, it was like dominoes, set each row off, it got as far as the row in front of ours before we touched down....stressful!!!!
QueenC scarlet necklace I have one you could have had I'm still looking for one, can you link it ?
I agree with you about Zara.. and you can see what I look like on SSoSo comments the stuff looks fab on 40 Bum and in the window but on me it always looks terrible.sad

Who was looking for a maxi skirt? I have found
this one
Cheap and cheerful. Was waiting for a free p +p code but now I've linked it ill have to order it!

Now for a winge.....
I'm full of cold.
My dd just came back from school saying she felt sick and we are coming to London for the weekend ....
Have just been told that the extension I've got plans for and planning permission for can't be done because the idiots I bought it from extended without deep enough foundations sad
I've had a huge quote to replace my boiler and hot water tank and have been told my water pressure isn't enough to feed the big boiler/ tank combo we need=££££££ to sort out.
Feel like knocking house down and starting again.

But my Addidas gazelles arrived and they're lovely.
I'm thinking they'll look nice with the maxi skirt....but what top ( apart fron fitted vests?) ESP on cooler days? Don't want to look frumpy.

Rant over....will be back to cheerful self....a little Sauternes is left at the bottom of the bottle, that will help!grin

Thanks ladies, I'm really pleased with what I've lost so far. I've had to modify some of the exercises to account for a medical condition I have but even so, I'm chuffed it's working. I've gradually grown bigger and bigger and I just can't let it continue.

Hope you and DD feel better soon dry and that you get to enjoy your weekend in London. Real shame about your extension plans, is there any way round the problems?

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 18:06:33

Drywhite poor you!! There's nothing worse than issues with plans / builders / general house issues. I hope it get sorted without too much stress.
That skirt is basically exactly what I want, but without the word petite and in dark green / khaki. I cannot find one anywhere.
If I can't find one like that then I would like pleated. Like this but in a moss / khaki
pleats to channel
this look
but a tube maxi is really what I'd like.
I have also finally decided I'd like to try the Whistles tube short skirt - but now they don't do it in khaki anymore (just black). sad

Wow One I'd missed that about the weight loss...well done!grin
The architect is coming round tonight, will see what he comes up with..........but we could "just" extend the east wing instead wink..... Wish I'd checked the foundations before we paid for drawings and planning applications....I've learnt a lesson there! Underpinning isn't an option. It's just so frustratingly laborious and expensive and like opening a can of worms really.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 18:12:10

Dry our place is Grade II listed - that really is opening a can of worms! Lots we'd love to do, but little we can......

Ooooh that's lovely shop
Black though
I'm too short for pleats, but I love the look a lot.

McNally Thu 09-May-13 18:17:28

How frustrating Drywhite wine. Glad the gazelles are good though.

That's really impressive One. Congrats. Hope your arm(?) is feeling better. Have some wine too. I am almost tempted to give The Shred another go.

Hopefully Thu 09-May-13 18:33:35

One that's brilliant! Well done. I need to have a bit of a bootcamp couple of weeks, am feeling a bit blobby at the moment. Having invested in some nice expensive clothes last year I can't afford to gain weight, ever!

Paris I got the ecru/white (which I am hoping will be off-white/cream).

I am much better in bikers than blazers. I have the opposite of classic style though.

Shop I live in hope that whistles will do the tube skirt in ANY autumn colour again - I wear my khaki one all.the.time.

Hopefully Thu 09-May-13 19:04:56

OK, I have been browsing the internet for 30 whole minutes and I have decreed there are NO TOPS.

ProveYourLoveToMe Thu 09-May-13 19:41:17

There are plenty of tops hopefully. THere are, however, NO trousers grin.

I struggle to see the fuss about Zara too. I get the lust for items on blogs/Pin, but in real life, it's all a bit crumpled and worn and poorly lit. Too short for me too, although bumlook40 seems to find gems there. in this case - on the Considering List.

I just bought practical, albeit dull, navy ballet flats Would you wear them with a wrap dress (christening/wedding) or will I look like I'm at work?

ProveYourLoveToMe Thu 09-May-13 19:43:02

oh cock, link fail.

the necklace

the shoes

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 19:43:25

Can't see the necklace Prove link failed - or the shoes.....

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 19:43:43

Cross post will look now

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 19:45:18

Blimey - bargainous shoes - really handy!! I would go a little dressier for a christening / wedding (unless you're on the dance floor all night?) smile

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 19:51:03

Talking about tops, does anyone know of any nice sleeveless tops for people who usually don't look good in sleeveless tops? grin

I can't do tops with spaghetti straps (unless it's for layering) and most other sleeveless tops make me look like a USSR shotputter called Svetlana, so all help is welcome.

Anyone in the market for a green neon belt?

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 19:53:40

I am going to cry. I've spent at least two hours today searching for skirts. I'm giving up, if anyone spots either a jersey above the knee skirt in khaki / dark green, or a maxi in the same colour please let me know. I'll be the one weeping in the corner in despair grin

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 20:09:04
McNally Thu 09-May-13 20:12:39

Suspect you were after something straighter and not sure about the bias cut, but this Asos one shop?

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:13:01

Linus it does look a little pale but might be worth a shot.......

Links - basically put them in [[ ]] gives
Mumsnet gives Mumsnet
You can also insert a link without any formatting, e.g.
Ticking "Convert links automatically" will turn any links that look like into

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:17:27

The colours good McNally I don't mind a bias cut but not sure about the way that is cut at either side....... This is going to turn into another Breton hunt isn't it!?

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 20:22:06

Too short? In colour called lieutenant.

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 20:23:07

Ok still don't know how to link properly. <blames second glass of red>

Hopefully Thu 09-May-13 20:26:44

I ordered and returned that AA skirt recently in red, as it looked a bit cheap. Boo.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:28:43

Boo is the word Hopefully.
Thanks Linus keep them coming until you get so pissed off that you want to kill me! smile

santamarianovella Thu 09-May-13 20:29:54

linus,im shit at doing short links too,its still an enigma to me!
i have that skirt/dress,i highly recommend it,but sadly i cant wear it as a dress,it always feel as it will slip, wouldnt want to flash anyone grin

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:35:10

Right ladies. Copy your link from your browser. Type two of these [[ then with no space copy your link, then a space, then your words e.g. Nice maxi skirt, no space, then two more of these ]]
Tutorial over smile

Linus-links- do your [[ then paste your link, leave a space and type a word or two, then do your ]]. Your post will show the word(s) you put after the full address you pasted, which won't show smile. Also make sure you have the convert links box ticked. Does that make sense?

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:35:33

It took me at least a year to get the hang of that mind you!

X post shop grin

McNally Thu 09-May-13 20:36:27

BHS and viscose shop <lowers tone of thread> ?

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 20:38:30

Hey McNally, I was even looking at the La Redoute website in desperation!

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:41:07

I've been to (in no particular order)
River Island
Dotty Ps
Mint Velvet
I'm losing my mind

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 20:41:42

Might have found a sleeveless top that might suit me but at 68 USD is it worth the risk of ordering it and then looking horrible in it (like the Zoe K tee I now use to sleep in blush )

sleeveless tee

McNally Thu 09-May-13 20:41:58

Think La Redoute is one step up from BHS Linus grin. Should probably remove myself from the thread now but at a loose end this evening so will keep looking. C&A still around these days? wink

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 20:42:10

Woohoo! Result! Thanks for teaching me how to link!

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:46:23

McNally grin

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 20:46:30

Wtf is going on with that models face?! Nice top but expensive I think.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:48:17

Well done Linus gorgeous top

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:51:17

Linus that's the one I saw that started all this but someone said it looked bulky when they tried it. Think I'll have to scratch the itch and go and try it.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 20:51:59

Ha! I didn't even notice that! She's a meany....

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 20:52:04

Me! Not you.....

MarshaBrady Thu 09-May-13 21:03:23

Do you like mine? do you do you grin

GrumpyOldHorsewoman Thu 09-May-13 21:03:42

Evening all.

Did the Big Try On today and these are the results...
this looks lovely
this is really flattering and probably my favourite, whereas all one was missing was a pair of pigtails and some clogs. Quite ludicrously trapeze-shaped - I looked like Pippi Longstocking, which is disappointing so back it goes.
The bikini, once I'd put it on the right way around, was also lovely, as was the JCrew, even though it's less dress, more summer T-shirt dress IYKWIM.
Found this in Zara when out on Monday and though it looks totally minging in the picture, it's gorgeous IRL (even though it's plastic - it's very convincing masquerading as silk). Tried on the kimono, imagining Kiera in a Chanel campaign, but looked more Bet Lynch in bed jacket (sigh). And 9yo stylist DD2 said witheringly "ugh. Polyester" and she was right, so I walked away. She's my voice of reason.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman Thu 09-May-13 21:06:56

Shucks. Link failure Pippilicious

Ooooh to cheer myself up and distress after yet another plumber to quote and visit from architect, I went in my wardrobe and sorted my shoes out (saddo).i have 53 pair all in clear plastic boxes.....OCD storage woman
Would give you the inventory but don't want to be expelled from MNV !!!!!

LinusDKD Thu 09-May-13 21:12:31

<sticks tongue out at shop>

Last one, promise. Too olive coloured?

Boden skirt

Annianni Thu 09-May-13 21:13:19

List please Drywhite grin

Hope you get your house sorted.

Well done with the shred One
Mine's still in the wrapper.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 21:13:26

I love yours Marsha if it was a little less blue green and a few inches longer (scared it might not cover my arse). I think you should link it now so someone else can snap it up as it is fabulous.

MrsRadicchio Thu 09-May-13 21:16:35

Managed to get on pc to look at links. Lots of good shopping! Can't think of anywhere else for khaki tube skirts. Whistles have a quilted grey mini I think looks lovely <completely off piste>

Foxy have a great time!

Hope all the illness has left everyone now.

I also don't shop in Zara. I don't think I've ever bought from there but I think it is mainly to do with sizing, it isn't cut for my shape. Same with mango, though I haven't tried anything from there for yonks. I don't really shop on the high street, mainly cause I barely ever get out and neither DS is amenable to going into shops with me. I also prefer internet browsing rather than looking in shops and trying on. Does mean I've spent a fortune in returns though.

Anyway I came on to say

old news but what a bargain I have bought as I was after a pair.

and that there is a pair of 99p gigis on ebay, size 6UK. Won't link for the usual reasons (I am not the seller btw!) but know some of you are after them.

One well done for the weight loss success. I have bought the shred, so far the most exercise I have done is taking it out of the wrapper. I will start doing it when DS2 reliably settles for the evening and not the MNing I am doing now

I need to start making notes a la Dry - I can never remember everyone's posts by the time I get to writing mine.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 21:16:53

Can I borrow your 9yo Grumpy? She sounds ace! So what are you keeping?
Too olive Linus - don't beat me!!

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 21:18:51

Marsha's rcommendation someone buy it please. And if you're a lurker, make yourself known grin

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 21:20:22

I love the quilted mini MrsR - I've got the sweatshirt - it's fab.

MrsRadicchio Thu 09-May-13 21:20:45

Just rereading my post - by "barely ever get out" I meant to go to the shops...I do leave the house!

MrsRadicchio Thu 09-May-13 21:21:41

Ooh I love Marsha's offering. Sadly too short for me though. Love the colour

MarshaBrady Thu 09-May-13 21:26:53

I have the Wang skirt and love it very much. Had it for ages now! Surprised it's in the sales still.

MrsR lovely Whistles skirt, there's a couple on there I really like but would like a sale to happen.

foxysocks Thu 09-May-13 21:37:15

Have the quilted mini on my sales list, it's lovely

Fab wang skirt but not my colours and only L left

Thanks for all the love, will be here till late tonight as staying up watching the tennis. Love it! Not as much as clothes, but close.

shop sorry to rub salt into the wound, but is this the look you want

Hopefully Thu 09-May-13 21:49:04

Love the Wang skirt, would buy if it it was in my size.

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 21:49:33

See through wasn't top of my list Dry grin

santamarianovella Thu 09-May-13 21:55:41

grumpy, both the reiss dress are lovely,

shop,i think the pockets on the whistles skirt are wrong, but its best to try ,it might look good on you.

dry thats impressive, and now that you linked the pleated skirts i want one too!
enjoy your time foxy

shopafrolic Thu 09-May-13 22:01:34

I have this one which I love with a grey tee and flats

Noooo go down!!!grin

santa there problem is I get v attached to my shoes....have lovely memories of the occasions I wore all of them so it's hard to part with them.
Like that skirt shop

QueenCadbury Thu 09-May-13 22:10:12

Gah, for some reason my Internet connection is being incredibly slow so can't look at all the links properly.

foxy have a fab time
mrsR you've done better than me. I received the shred last week and it's still in it's wrapper
drywhite my necklace is silver. The cardi is red.

Dh is out tonight so I've had a bit of a try on session. Love my new red cardi although when it was in my list I had visions of rocking a nautical vibe and pairing it with navy but actually on me it looks better with black or dark grey. Weirdly it also looks better with my hair up (as does the red lipstick). On me, loose blonde hair + red= tart. The red lippy also looks better with a strong eye rather than totally natural. hopefully I lurve my new pink lipstick though thanks

I'm off to buy whispers tracksuit bottoms tomorrow blush I've been doing my shred in a pair of holey old bottoms but they aren't cutting it anymore. I'm hoping to find something cheap in a cheerful colour as I can't abide grey tracksuit bottoms. They make me feel fat and dumpy. I'm only buying cheap as I'm hoping I won't be the size I am for much longer

santamarianovella Thu 09-May-13 22:22:00

dry I'm attached to shoes too! DH thinks I need therapy! As I'm always buying shoes that I hardly wear!

I'm warning u to what I'm about to link,it might be the euro trash in me but I really like this skirt.

Oh dear, that skirt is a bit eurotrash grin probably fine if you have the legs for it though

QueenCadbury Thu 09-May-13 22:24:54

littlelady I forgot to congratulate you no your weight loss (I really should make notes too --or you lot should not move so fast on the thread--)

Wow if I had £645 spare I'd buy this would go with everything!

Thank you, it's been tough I won't lie but hopefully the results will outweigh the pain!

that's very 'bling' *dry!

santa have you ever seen the video for Whams "Wake me up before you go go?"...the girls (Pepsi and Shirley?) wore Katherine Hamnett white slouchy t shirts with skirts exactly like Mum made me one so I could look just like them!grin

libertychick Thu 09-May-13 22:35:09

Quick hi
Shop the Whistles maxi arrived here today - made me look fat and it looked cheap IMO. Yet another return....

Had 10 mins on my fav Marylebone High Street today. Fell very deeply in love with a suede and leather short blazer in Gerard Darel - can't find it to link but it is £690 shock damn my champagne tastes with my sauv blanc budget!

Also spent 5 of the 10 mins drooling over this bag in Matches - lovely sales lady drooled with me and encouraged me to try it on - I suit it so well!!! Need at least 40% off though to be in my comfort zone for spending on a bag.

And so to bed and sweet dreams of lovely things.

libertychick Thu 09-May-13 22:36:53

And yes v well done on weight loss littlelady - so hard especially when you are battling with health probs.

And QueenC how is your little one doing with her cast???

Decameron Thu 09-May-13 22:42:17

Well done, OneLady.

That bag is high on my sales list, Liberty.

Gorgeous skirt, Marsha.

Paris, I am not going until Sept now but book soon as it is selling out. I have great photos of DD1 tottering around Pompeii shouting ciao at other visitors.

Very impressive shoe collection, Drywhite!

QueenCadbury Thu 09-May-13 22:47:13

Oh, I loved Pepsi and Shirley.

dry I love that necklace.

liberty dd is not letting a cast get in the way of doing anything! If she jumps up and down too much she says 'ow' but other than that she's running round, climbing etc etc.

santamarianovella Thu 09-May-13 22:49:15

I had to watch the video on YouTube dry and your right!
liberty, that bag was on sale on the AH site back in jan.

QueenCadbury Thu 09-May-13 22:49:16

grumpy I've just realised that I forgot to say that I'm glad the dresses look fab.

Oh santa have just watched the video on You Tube....cheered me up no end. I really did dress just like those women, perm, white stilettos and everything......ahhhh what it was to be a teenager in the 80s

LinusDKD Fri 10-May-13 06:59:31

Grrr, just lost a whole post with links for shop and I can't ignore the DC any longer so can't repost.

Have a look on Yoox, lots of green skirts. 6 pages of them, not all the green your looking for of course but some nice ones.

Is foxy camping in this weather shock.......

foxysocks Fri 10-May-13 07:56:30

Noooo! We are off to a cottage in Dorset, we go every year it's bliss.

Am going to put some orders in so i have nice parcels to come home to, will link when not on iPad

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 08:22:21

Have a fab time Foxy - it is so windy here it' crazy. Feeling sorry for my DH in that aeroplane! Unlikely to be a smooth landing in this!
Thanks Linus - I'll have a look now - so annoying when you lose all your efforts!

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 08:44:21

Loads of sizes of my Gigis reduced here

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Fri 10-May-13 09:16:15

Onelittle Congrats on the pounds off and the Shred. It give amazing results and I really should do it again. Keep at it girl!

Dry I love that necklace! It would look great with a plain white or grey t shirt

Grumpy I really like the Pippilicious dress blush

Shop Good luck on your search. The perfect one will turn up or you'll go on to the next thing but don't settle for less than perfect! And those Gigi's you linked are gorgeous. I keep looking at them until I remember that my feet are little trotters, and they need containing!

Foxy Have a great time. Looking forward to seeing what you've ordered!

Dec Your DD in Pompeii sounds mega cute!

I also want to say that I have managed to control my upchuck reflex for more than 12 hours so thanks all for keeping me company when I was ill. I should go and do some work now I probably wont

foxysocks Fri 10-May-13 09:28:11

have ordered this belt in all colours but will only keep one, probs the pink but i want to see them all in the flesh before deciding. SIZE gives 20% off and another 5% cashback through quidco so about £9 a belt? cheaper if you go for the smaller size but that was a step too far for me lol

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Fri 10-May-13 09:41:49

Great find Foxy I think I'll order the yellow. Not sure if it'll fit round me though!

foxysocks Fri 10-May-13 09:47:29

i measured it against one of my hip belts and the 13-16yrs is the same size so i hope it will be ok

have told DD (5 1/2) that she can help me choose colour and then she can wear it too when she's older!

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 10:20:33

Not a chance that I could ever wear a kids belt envy

Annianni Fri 10-May-13 10:22:47

I could...

If I put 2 together grin

LinusDKD Fri 10-May-13 10:37:24

Something that was OOS is back in stock but I'm afraid to link in case it sells out again and I can't remember who was interested so can't pm.

Sorry for the cryptic message but maybe people should have a look at a certain website.

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 10:46:25

Linus too cryptic! I am now intrigued. Can't you say but not link?
anni LOL

LinusDKD Fri 10-May-13 10:51:10

Ok, hope this doesn't give too much away.

This item is for cobalt afficionados...

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 10:53:01

I still have no idea but can't wear cobalt so my heart rate can return to normal smile

McNally Fri 10-May-13 10:54:29

Bargainous belts Foxy.

Ooh, Linus, I do like a cryptic challenge for a Friday morning. Am stumped though!

Annianni Fri 10-May-13 11:01:29

I know what it is, but can't think who wanted one.

Shop pm!

LinusDKD Fri 10-May-13 11:02:32

I just checked the website and it is OOS again!!!

It was the Cashmere Rainbow cobalt cashmere/silk scarf that was linked a while back but was OOS immediately afterwards and now it is again!

I did order it before posting (the French Lavender I ordered and that arrived today was a bit too purple for me) so maybe they only had one in stock?

Sorry for getting peoples hopes up! blush

McNally Fri 10-May-13 11:05:55

Aah, I missed links to that the first time round so had to google it. Looks lovely and can see it getting lots of use.

Annianni Fri 10-May-13 11:06:00

It's ok Linus, but if you don't want yours though, someone on here will buy it off you.

libertychick Fri 10-May-13 11:12:28

Gah Linus I wanted one!!! I guessed what it was as soon as you said and couldn't believe it was gone again - must have been a return.

Well done getting it though and I will definitely buy it off you if it doesn't suit smile

GrumpyOldHorsewoman Fri 10-May-13 11:21:12

Just dropping in when I should be working to let anyone who's interested know that Reiss are offering 10% off everything online today plus free shipping.

As you were.

LinusDKD Fri 10-May-13 11:30:43

Liberty so sorry about that! If you pm me your address I will send it to you once I have received it.

You have been on here a lot longer and when I saw the original link I was just a lurker so I think you should have it.

Right, off to convince DS (again) that he has to stay in bed for his nap.

santamarianovella Fri 10-May-13 11:33:19

shop saw this beauty and thought of you,i know it's not the color u want but it's just gorgeous ,

libertychick Fri 10-May-13 11:33:40

Absolutely not Linus!!! You enjoy it - I'll get one eventually - half the fun is the hunt smile. I am really pleased you got it and thanks for tipping off that it was there again.

People are so nice on this thread....

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 11:47:26

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 11:48:25

Paris you're right about the skirt hunt - something will turn up and no settling for less than perfect! It worked with the breton eventually!

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 11:50:49
santamarianovella Fri 10-May-13 11:58:57

santamarianovella Fri 10-May-13 12:00:05

oh,and a big welcome back to mr shop, your DS must be so happy to see his daddy.

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 12:08:49

Aaaargghh J Crew if you're going to start promoting yourself in the UK please spell words the UK way not the US way - drives me mad! color, colorful, jewelry. Perhaps they could hire me as their UK proof reader? hmm

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 12:09:28

He really is Santa - not least because DH came back with lots more Thomas trains for his train set!

shopafrolic Fri 10-May-13 12:29:34

Hopefully Fri 10-May-13 12:52:43

Assume reiss thing is online only? Am popping into town later to pick up zara skort and there were a few things in reiss I thought I'd try. Could try and order later, of course.

MarshaBrady Fri 10-May-13 13:34:26

Have had ultra indulgent lunch now lying on sofa bed in sun on roof top. This is Vogue we can be über indulgent here! grin

Shop so, so pleased for you. You both did it, new job now home.

Liberty I agree everyone is so lovely on here, love it.

Good times!

Dp bought me two bags today. One is light coral/pale orange coloured and the other is a deep green/blue. Both leather so will last forever. Would link but I can't find them online hmm Bags are something I am actually short on, I've never had many at all so I'm chuffed to get two really nice ones

QueenCadbury Fri 10-May-13 14:17:35

Afternoon all. onelady what a lovely DP. shop glad dh is home and ds is happy with Thomas. marsha does SE London have it's own microclimate? It's pretty cold here with the wind and I'm even wearing boots again.

I'm miffed as 2 of my tees seem to have shrunk or misshapen. One is Dorothy Perkins which is unusual as they normally withstand the tumble dryer. The other is mango and it's become a ridiculous shape at the bottom. I'm absolutely meticulous about washing and drying things so think I will pop into town tomorrow to see if I can return/refund.

He is pretty fab queenC <brag emoticon>

MarshaBrady Fri 10-May-13 14:25:51

QueenC am in central ish London today. Have on floral skinnies and cashmere, bit breezy but so nice in the sun.

OneLittle congratulations on lovely new bags and meant to say great work on shred success.

Thanks Marsha I've had a rough time with the shred but it's been worth it as it seems to be working for me better than the calorie counting I was trying to do before.

And the bags really are lovely, I'm so pleased, I love the smell of new leather blush

santamarianovella Fri 10-May-13 14:28:13

queen thats what i was about to say!its getting really cloudy too ! are you at the Berkeley marsha ? envy
photos one i love looking at handbags.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Fri 10-May-13 14:28:29

Glad your DH has returned safely Shop
Marsha either the weather daan saarf is a lot better than up here or you are as hard as nails!
One little 2 bags? Bravo to your DH
QueenC Take those things back. I'm trying to be braver and do the same when things wash badly

I'm looking for an alternative to ballet flats (I have just chucked my last pair away after they stretched in the rain). Are these acceptable? I'd wear them with jeans and t shirts mainly

Will try and get some photos of my new lovelies onto my profile later for you santa as I can't seem to find the bags online to link to them

Oooh, they are nice paris I like the grey/silver myself but that's probably because they'd go with more of my wardrobe than the rose gold

<<gatecrashing shamefully>> hello, do you shop from shopbop? I've never bought from an american website and feel nervous...

santamarianovella Fri 10-May-13 14:35:15

that would be great one

which one is it paris?

francai shop from them, very quick, but you pay duties .

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Fri 10-May-13 14:35:56

One The problem with them is the little sucker things on the bottom that remind me of tentacles. Blee! shock

Hahaha, that's all I can think of as I'm looking at them now paris

QueenCadbury Fri 10-May-13 14:37:23

paris my link takes me to the whole page of shoes. Which ones are you looking at?

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Fri 10-May-13 14:39:05

Sorry Franca, cross posted with you. I haven't shopbopped!

Santa they are pretentiously called Ipensa-Driver Shoe!

MarshaBrady Fri 10-May-13 14:39:06

No no not Berkley, poolside. I'm not hard people are swimming! I'm wrapped up under jacket too.

Blinking nice, have to go now dammit!

Parisisalwaysagoodidea Fri 10-May-13 14:40:37

QueenC If you leave the page for a couple of seconds then they come up.

You weren't going to look until I mentioned tentacles were you?! grin

MarshaBrady Fri 10-May-13 14:41:12

Berkeley spelling has gone.
