I get cold. And I live in Scotland.

I need a coat that zips / buttons right up, can go over a cardi, but that looks summery.

Where should I look? Links greatly appreciated...

TIA

I don't know either but want one too!

Watching with interest! I desperately need a new coat. I'm thinking something light coloured with a belt...

ja9 Sat 27-Apr-13 20:38:47

yes, i was thinking light coloured or bold pattern with a belt (and maybe a funnel neck?!)

johnnycomelurky Sat 27-Apr-13 20:42:28

This one is lovely in the red but sadly is sold out

tassisssss Sat 27-Apr-13 21:52:40

leopard print mac??

I have convinced myself that I need a chunky cord/velvet cord in a pretty light colour for spring...might have to wait for next spring for this!!

Lots of links, thank you!!

I want something that won't look out of place at the park - casual. But I like structured casual rather than scruffy casual!

The fat face link looks most promising so far...(surprising as Fat Face items don't usually appeal to me..despite loving it for others)

Thinking there is a wee gap in the market?I love this shape of jacket... if only it came in a summery fabric...boden type brights or stripes or spots

ja9 Sat 27-Apr-13 22:46:59

not what i had in mind but i quite like it.. M&Co are actually becoming my staples blush

Wow, that last link is lovely, and such a bargain too.

That sea salt one is lovely too.

I need a summer jacket as well.

For some reason not all the links are working for me, the fat face one just takes me to their home page?

Quite like the sea salt one but that col our makes me look washed out.

ja9 Sat 27-Apr-13 23:19:39

Think I want a coat rather than a foldaway, but what do you think?

Ooh good thread. I really want something waterproof with a hood and stylish. Seems that's not impossible to find!

Waswondering Sun 28-Apr-13 09:02:42

I like that JL one too. Is it worth phoning boden to ask about the short RDM?

intheshed Sun 28-Apr-13 09:56:37

Gap looks promising. Quite like this bit boring though?

Or this is bargainous...

I have tried the Hobbs purple mac in real life and it looked odd without a collar to it. Shame as it was a lovely colour but I had to return it sad

KatyS36 Sun 28-Apr-13 19:10:53

Thanks ness for the john lewis suggestion. Tried it on and bought it today.

Absolutely perfect for work - what I have been looking for for 4 years :-)

Now want the joules one for casual though!

hattymattie Sun 28-Apr-13 20:16:59

Oh - now I really want the fatface charlie utility jacket - I have a penchant for those things. Somebody talk me out of it. I should never have opened the link.

IntheFrame Sun 28-Apr-13 20:35:13

Desigual? No hoods though- windproof and looks lovely in park or in town.

cheaper ones!

tassisssss Sun 28-Apr-13 20:36:11

I like the joules ones a lot (though it's depressing that a quilted jacket counts for a spring/summer one!). There are pink/purple versions on ebay.

nulgirl Sun 28-Apr-13 20:42:26

I have the red Hobbs trench coat that a couple of people have mentioned. I love love love it. I wear it for work but also to the park with jeans. It is such a statement colour that I don't have to bother making an effort with the rest of my outfit - think jeans and plain black, white, grey tshirt.

Ja9, I think your previous links were nicer than the JL one.

I saw some in Laura Ashley this week, on offer .... But they weren't perhaps as structured as you're looking for. Longer length and spotty ...

Waswondering Tue 30-Apr-13 17:57:57

Sorry, m and s, not JL!

ja9 Tue 30-Apr-13 18:20:46

Have had a link through all the links again... and just not seeing anything that i want to really consider.

I'm looking for shorter length...bright colour or a bold pattern...in a fabric that is not just a plain cotton. I don't think one actually exists. But, if you do come across one in your travels, please report back! Thank you!

tassisssss Wed 01-May-13 19:35:52

ebayebayebayebay...you bidding on that one I PMed you about??

Actually I think you could rock the first M&S one...and I promise not to tell anyone it's from the old lady classic range!

ja9 Wed 01-May-13 22:57:59

tassisssss, not sure. It is a contender, but it just lacks a certain something...! A hood maybe? Or a different fabric...

now considering this

and this...
