I can't pick a good deodorant, they just don't work as good as they say on the tin and strangely it's worse as soon as I've put it on. I'd really like to know what ones everyone else think works best.

I use Mitchum powder fresh roll on when I do exercise classes. For day to day use I like Vaseline intensive care roll on or the cream one (when I cant be bothered waiting for the roll on to dry). I also like the Dove cream (original). I carry a spray about with me which is normally dove or vaseline intensive care.

I'm an avid Mitchum fan too. I, along with all the women in our family, am very damp under the arms and until I found Mitchum, I had never had a dry pit day!!! shock

I use it every day. My skin under my arms isn't the most amazing but anything else leaves me damp sadly.

Mitchum user here. Worst for me is dove! Practically Madame sweat.

Another vote for Mitchum. I use the spray. I have a quick walk, a sweaty commute, and often a sprint across a large station during my morning commute and it keeps me dry!

I think the trick to making it stick might be as simple as waiting a few minutes before getting dressed.

Another Mitchum fan here too.

Like previous posters it's the only one I have found keeps me feeling dry.

Dove

gemma4d Thu 21-Mar-13 22:05:48

Mitchum!

Sure or Dove. I have very sensitive skin and find they are the only ones that don't irritate me. I am very sweaty due to medication and they usually keep me dry and fresh unless I have been doing anything particularly strenuous.

awaywego1 Thu 21-Mar-13 22:22:58

Mitchum here too grin

Whitecat Thu 21-Mar-13 22:27:12

Mitchum too.
Dove makes me smell very peculiar.

bonzo77 Thu 21-Mar-13 22:52:51

Mitchum spray. Any flavour. Keeps me dry except on very hot / hormonal days. Not too bad for white marks. Often on offer.

Mintyy Thu 21-Mar-13 22:57:54

Omg! all these votes for Mitchum. I use the Mitchum stick. It doesn't put white marks on my clothes, it is unscented but doesn't smell unpleasant like some unscented products do, and it can cope with my hot flushes!

Mitchum does nothing for me sad

FreshLeticia Thu 21-Mar-13 23:20:47

Sanex 48hr or Sure 48 hr. TBH, the Sure ones have always suited me best and don't irritate. My DD 1 needs the Sanex though.
confused at the 48hr thing - as if you would generally be going 48hrs between washes!

dozily Thu 21-Mar-13 23:23:14

Mitchum here too - had no idea it was so popular!

CointreauVersial Thu 21-Mar-13 23:25:37

I used to be a huge Mitcham fan too, but for some reason I don't sweat half as much as I did when I was younger. It's brilliant stuff.

But now I just use the Sure solid stick.

CointreauVersial Thu 21-Mar-13 23:27:13

Ha! I said Mitcham!

That's a town just up the road from here, and I'm not that keen on it tbh...grin

WildThongsEggHunt Thu 21-Mar-13 23:28:02

Body shop white musk roll on. Works well, gentle and smells lovely. just like me

GeordieCherry Thu 21-Mar-13 23:30:45

I haven't anything works sad

Soooo, perfume under the arms in winter so if I get warm at least it smells good. And going to try Botox in the summer, if it's ok to have while bf. If not, Triple Dry smile

FringeEvent Thu 21-Mar-13 23:31:46

Mitchum here too. Think I discovered it looking for an unscented deodorant to wear on a special occasion when I didn't want to risk clashing with my new perfume, and was blown away by how much better it was than the brands I've been using until then (Sure, Dove, Right Guard) - no white marks / armpit crust / 'greasy' stains appearing on my clothes any more, and armpits stay dry and clean-smelling all day even when it's hot

ToffeeAddict Thu 21-Mar-13 23:32:17

Mitchum as well as being a reliable deodorant has the added benefit, surprisingly, of being not tested on animals

ToothGah Thu 21-Mar-13 23:55:56

Mitchum used to work brilliantly for me but it seemed to stop working, and made my pits smell weird hmm after about 6 years of using it.

I now use Sure Crystal as it doesn't leave white marks on clothes. I do wonder if you become immune to anti-persps over time - anyone else find that?

kaumana Fri 22-Mar-13 00:10:46

Used to swear by Mitchums until I found it caused yellow stains on light clothes, now I use Nivea Invisible which protects from yellow stains and white marks. Have not had the issue since.

mrsfollowill Fri 22-Mar-13 00:19:31

I've tried everything! have used Sanex spray for years (10+) but have recentley discovered Mitchum spray shower fresh. Main reason for switching was ££- mitchum is £1.29 from Savers! Can't fault it- I have v sensitive skin and am very prone to rashes but Mitchum does it for me.

janji Fri 22-Mar-13 02:56:54

Mitchum never seemed to work well for me (must have strange skin)! I always use the sure ones that aren't supposed to leave white marks.

Stila Fri 22-Mar-13 03:44:51

Mitchum for me as well ...... unless I can get my hands on Lady Speed Stick .

Pollykitten Fri 22-Mar-13 03:55:30

bionsen spray - aluminum free & works properly

Natural crystal deodorant, I also wash my pits morning and night and don't smell. I don't sweat much though.

Frogman Fri 22-Mar-13 07:19:53

Bionsen roll on because it's aluminium free but I've just bought a new one which I haven't tried yet - Sukin aluminium and paraben free with a pump spray. I like the Sukin products.

AgathaF Fri 22-Mar-13 08:59:10

The Dove one in the box here. It is the best deodorant I have ever used. The Mitchum didn't work for me, unfortunately.

AgathaF Fri 22-Mar-13 09:00:15

Massive linky fail <bah>. Try again here

MissPricklePants Fri 22-Mar-13 09:04:50

Mitchum for me too, nothing else seems to work on me!

cocolepew Fri 22-Mar-13 09:10:04

Mitchum spray or the Sure stick.

Salamanger Fri 22-Mar-13 09:11:57

Mum unscented roll on. I'd like to be able to use crystal deodorant but it stopped working after a while. Mum has the fewest ingredients I could find and works well for me. I don't like anything too 'chemically' on my skin or being sucked into my family's lungs!

JollyYellowGiant Fri 22-Mar-13 09:13:36

I use Sure 48 hr spray. When I was a teen this was the one I found that worked. It has kept working so I've kept using it smile

ILoveMondays Fri 22-Mar-13 10:48:07

wow - thanks for so many comments. Mitchum sounds a winner, although I'm sure I tried it once and found it quite sticky. Will try again though. I have sweat patches as soon as I leave the house at the moment - not attractive.

Shlurpbop Fri 22-Mar-13 10:55:10

I used to use Mitchum but it was too strong for my skin and made it dry and itch (tmi!)
I now use a crystal deodorant - its just a crystal that you wet and rub under your arms and it's fab! Lasts forever, doesn't sting and has no smell so doesn't interfere with perfume smile

B52s Fri 22-Mar-13 10:55:43

I'm a Sweaty Betty and Mitchum didn't touch my sweat, massive wet patches on even loose clothes. So now I use the Sure 48 hour one in a box. I spend my days underdressed so I don't get even slightly warm, as then the wetness begins. Oddly, I don't sweat more from my pits when I excercise, it really is an all day sweating thing.

miche8 Fri 22-Mar-13 11:00:53

I'm not a very sweaty person so use a dove spray, the no white marks one. In the summer I do sweat and use Mitchum the solid stick version. Generally I find the stick versions much better than the spray and they don't take ages to dry like a roll on.
