for a VERY limited time only as do not want to out self in rl

i have shoulder length curly hair at the moment but tbh its in quite shit condition despite my best efforts sad and am sick of it

i have been growing it for over 2 years from a short crop with long layers at the front, which was dead easy to maintain and took seconds to style

i am seriously thinking of going back to that style and need your opinions on what looks best. please look at my pics and tell me, HONESTLY, what you think, i will not be offended, promise

AlanMoore Thu 21-Mar-13 08:41:47

You don't seem to have a viewable profile? If your hair is in bad condition it'll look better shorter though!

zoflora Thu 21-Mar-13 08:41:58

your profile is not showing

Eliza22 Thu 21-Mar-13 08:49:08

No profile!

MoodyDidIt Thu 21-Mar-13 09:12:15

oh god i am such a technophobe sad

i think i have done it now, not sure ...

I think you look amazing with the short crop!

(Profile showed up for me)

zoflora Thu 21-Mar-13 09:32:05

I prefer the short style on you.
I say this as someone who is not normally a fan of short hair - but going on these photos I'd say it looks much better on you

Fluffycloudland77 Thu 21-Mar-13 09:33:29

I think the crop suits you, somehow the longer hair just doesn't.

DuvetHog Thu 21-Mar-13 09:34:55

The crop is gorgeous! Would love to be able to pull it off thanks dad for potato shaped head

Definitely short! You look amazing in your wedding pics!

The longer hair is just a bit more.......meh.

quietlysuggests Thu 21-Mar-13 09:37:34

Oh your hair is AMAZING short. Your profile looks like one of those Gok type programmes - the long hair is pretty nice ok, if you were my friend I would not think you should change it - but them out you come with the crop - and it is stunning, really striking.
I would go for the cut, it makes you look elegant and feminine and put together.

Toasttoppers Thu 21-Mar-13 09:42:13

I like it both very short and also in the top picture where it is just a bit longer. Not keen on the longer length.

MsWinnieBaygo Thu 21-Mar-13 09:43:46

Going to go against opinion here - I don't really like the crop - it looks like its stuck to your head. I love the first pic - curly chin length but not long.

FiteFuaite Thu 21-Mar-13 09:55:34

I love the short hair on you! You look really chic and sleek and elegant <well jell> grin

HousewifeFromArimathea Thu 21-Mar-13 09:57:27

WhatDoesTheDogSay Thu 21-Mar-13 10:02:18

The crop! Looks fab smile. What is your gut feeling, though? If you were going to wake up tomorrow with one or other style, what would you be happiest with? say crop!

member Thu 21-Mar-13 10:05:02

The short looks more groomed/chic as it's a defined cut, the long is inoffensive but just a bit bland despite the colour, so short for me!

I'm surprised at the consensus tbh, I really don't like the crop. It's very severe looking and ages you. The longer hair is much kinder to your face and you look younger and much prettier.

SeventiesBush Thu 21-Mar-13 10:25:58

I think you suit short hair, you look lovely, but I'm not so keen on the plastered down style. Why don't you go short but leave it a bit ruffled - soft, pretty, gamin, mmmm

Sugarice Thu 21-Mar-13 10:28:50

Your short hair looks fabulous!

SeventiesBush Thu 21-Mar-13 10:40:20

Sorry, I just realised "plastered down" sounds rather rude, especially as they were photos of your wedding day. You looked beautiful, you have a lovely face :-) I just think your hair is a little too hard in the pictures.

Eliza22 Thu 21-Mar-13 10:42:12

The crop, to be sure.

I agree with most ^. The short style is striking.

Eskino Thu 21-Mar-13 10:45:18

chickensaladagain Thu 21-Mar-13 10:46:30

I would say short but in a more funky crop

your wedding hair looks nice and classic but if it was softer it would make you more approachable for everyday

you look like you have a fun personality so your hair should reflect that smile

HeartShapedSaw Thu 21-Mar-13 10:47:12

MoodyDidIt Thu 21-Mar-13 10:49:18

oh my god MN have put this in discussions of the day blush

<scrabbles to remove pics>

and thanks for all the responses, and am not offended by any of them, they have all been really helpful x

simontowel Thu 21-Mar-13 10:51:14

You look amazing with short hair - it really suits you!

Lancelottie Thu 21-Mar-13 10:53:52

Good grief woman, you're stunning.

Cut it all off and put a bag on your head immediately. Please.

practicality Thu 21-Mar-13 10:56:24

Short but a groovier hairstyle.

Google wip hairport pixie. Really good ideas there.

Sorry to be annoying but I prefer it longer - it does still suit you short, but I think it looked a little bit severe and the dark colour doesn't suit you as much as the lighter red shade - which I think makes you look much younger and lights up your face. I would just have a really good trim and pile on the leave in conditioner TBH smile

UterusUterusGhali Thu 21-Mar-13 11:09:17

Deffo short. No question.

You are stunning smile

countrykitten Thu 21-Mar-13 11:10:53

Gosh you are beautiful! Def short as you have such lovely features - colour could be a little lighter (like the red) and the style a bit looser possibly bit def go short it's lovely!

MoodyDidIt Thu 21-Mar-13 11:20:46

awww how lovely blush

actually got a tear in my eye at the compliments <sap>. am pg though so thats my excuse

have booked hair appt for sat, so if i am feeling brave i will go for the full chop..... maybe

Definitely short. And I've surprised myself because I normally think everyone looks better with longer hair, but as soon as I saw your pics I preferred the shorter style. Though frankly you're so gorgeous you could shave it off & still look pretty damn good!

blue2 Thu 21-Mar-13 11:27:08

Keep it short. It make you look younger.

LulaPalooza Thu 21-Mar-13 11:30:14

Love the short hair but if you want to keep longer hair have you considered a Brazilian blow dry?

Fallenangle Thu 21-Mar-13 11:49:35

Short, it really suits you. The wedding style makes you look to be an ultra efficient, in control type of person. If you want to appear more free and easy go for a funkier style.

pocketandsweet Thu 21-Mar-13 11:54:41

100% short

I have uber short hair and it is great. I love it.

You look great with shirt hair. You're very pretty.

ZZZenAgain Thu 21-Mar-13 12:05:57

you look fragile and feminine with the shorter hair in a nice way. It suits you. Actually you look like two completely different people with the different haircuts.

How about leaving it longer but having a more smooth shape and a clearer lin?. Some version of a longish bob as a base and whatever interesting twist on that you might like. I don't think it is the length so much as the type of style that suits you a bit better in the crop.

Love your wedding photos btw

littlepeas Thu 21-Mar-13 12:08:08

Wedding pics is cheating a bit, because everyone looks completely amazing on their wedding day and pics taken in kfc are never going to live up to wedding pics! That said, I think you suit both, so I would go for the condition and styling ease of the crop.

Mumofjz Thu 21-Mar-13 12:45:22

I love it short, maybe a bit more "undone" tho!

And i would say the long is nice too, but don't like the colour, i have curly hair and find red always makes the curls look dried out and frizzy, where as a darker colour or more of a copper rather than red!!!!

I like short too!

DrunkenDaisy Thu 21-Mar-13 13:30:15

i prefer the first pic with your child.

Slainte Thu 21-Mar-13 13:34:48

The crop really suits you.

MrsPennyapple Thu 21-Mar-13 13:35:33

Short, definitely!

I recently came to the same decision, after growing my hair for about three years. I've hated it for the last year or so but kept it long, thinking I could do more with it - but never did. I made the decision to cut it very short again, and I love it again. I feel better about my appearance generally, clothes that I thought didn't suit me actually do again, and - the best part - I can wash, dry and style it inside ten minutes. It makes me wonder why I persevered with my long, rubbish looking hair, for so long. (Your longer hair is not rubbish-looking btw, I just think short looks much nicer.)

FingersCrossedLegsNot Thu 21-Mar-13 15:07:01

Short without a doubt, is that you in the pic with the short hair? If so you look absolutely stunning with it!

OneMoreGo Thu 21-Mar-13 15:29:49

I actually prefer it long.

Thumbwitch Thu 21-Mar-13 15:35:47

You do look lovely in your wedding photos (your scrabbling hasn't worked yet! grin) but I agree as well that the flattened look isn't necessarily the best way of wearing that cut - a bit more body to it, maybe?

Short hair does suit you and give you a more distinctive appearance than the cut you have at the moment though. smile

MoodyDidIt Thu 21-Mar-13 15:50:35

i decided to leave them on a bit longer blush

thanks for all the comments, am amazed at how many replies i have had

i met up with some friends for lunch today and 2 out of the 3 of them said keep it long, aaargh grin

have booked a hair appt sat, (cant remember if i said) so lets see how brave i am feeling on the day haha

MissWooWoo Thu 21-Mar-13 15:53:43

You look awesome, really chic.

MissWooWoo Thu 21-Mar-13 15:55:09

meant to add ... with the short style

SayMama Thu 21-Mar-13 16:01:52

Another vote for short, it looks lovely!

Curtsey Thu 21-Mar-13 16:05:37

Oh my god woman you look amazing in your wedding day pics! Love it short. I think you should google-pics 'Jean Seburg in A Bout de Souffle' and take that into your hairdresser for inspiration.

Short hair really just WORKS on some people, you're clearly one of them. Have fun!

WoTmania Thu 21-Mar-13 16:07:07

I think you have one of those faces that suits any haircut. I say SHORT!

mum47 Thu 21-Mar-13 16:10:00

Deffo short, not many people get away with a cropped hairstyle but you really suit it. Go for it!

Pancakeflipper Thu 21-Mar-13 16:12:24

Short and edgy.

You have a great face for short hair.
Long hair is pretty on you but you don't stand out.

nameuschangeus Thu 21-Mar-13 16:14:13

Short. You can definitely get away with it, and you look gorgeous!

MoodyDidIt Thu 21-Mar-13 16:14:46

what about something like

or this

so it would still be short but less "flattened down?" (as i agree about the flattened down look not being the best look for me)

ImTooHecsyForYourParty Thu 21-Mar-13 16:16:28

Both look lovely. I think you are one of those really lucky people who suits either grin

I think your face suits short hair but I personally think the style on your profile is not the nicest cut. Sorry - but you did want our honest opinions. I hope you are not cross. I think it's a bit too severe. I'd break up the fringe a bit.

I believe they call that type of cut 'choppy'. So google short choppy hair or choppy elfin hair and you'd get the sort of thing I mean.

It's just the fringe as a block that I would change to something more broken, iyswim.

EwanHoozami Thu 21-Mar-13 16:21:30

I cropped my hair when PG with DC2 and have spent a very scruffy year growing it out. It was a PITA to style and unless I got it just right it ended up looking a bit Soccer Mom.

Sunshinewithshowers Thu 21-Mar-13 16:26:52

I vote for short, It looks amazing on you.

It will always grow again, If you regret it x

Mumelie Thu 21-Mar-13 16:32:15

Short - so suits you you lucky thing!

FriedSprout Thu 21-Mar-13 16:35:27

Agree wi th most of the others, short def. suits you. However, for me, the style you had looks a little severe.
Would you consider a pixie cut, or just a bit of feathering around e face?

ClartyCarol Thu 21-Mar-13 16:36:43

No not the Gwynnie or Posh! You need more of a pixie cut like Dolores O'Riordan when she was The Cranberries. I do like it on the top photo as well, with your DD, but agree in the one with the drink it looks a bit straggly.

Go pixie! Dead easy to deal with when you come to have a newborn.

ZolaBuddleia Thu 21-Mar-13 16:37:21

Your short hair is great! I also like the top pic, the marcel waves are lovely. The longest is my least favourite.

MissEleanorLavish Thu 21-Mar-13 16:39:02

Short definitely - much more youthful and loved the darker colour on you. Kind of reminds me of Louise Werner (is that right? Indie girl from the 90s) look.

INeverSaidThat Thu 21-Mar-13 16:39:17

Another vote for short but softer and not fllattened down. It looks nice longer too though.

You looked stunning on your wedding day

Eskino Thu 21-Mar-13 16:39:31

What about an Anne Hath ?

I reckon you could carry that off

ZolaBuddleia Thu 21-Mar-13 16:40:41

What about the Katie Holmes one on this page?

INeverSaidThat Thu 21-Mar-13 16:41:58

Dolores with nice short hair.

INeverSaidThat Thu 21-Mar-13 16:43:46

I really like that Katie Holmes hair style

TheSecondComing Thu 21-Mar-13 16:47:39

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

MoodyDidIt Thu 21-Mar-13 16:49:49

Short definitely - much more youthful and loved the darker colour on you. Kind of reminds me of Louise Werner (is that right? Indie girl from the 90s) look

omg miss eleanor ....when i first had it cut short (like it is in my wedding pics), loads of people said that to me shock

MonaLotte Thu 21-Mar-13 16:51:27

I prefer short also and prefer the darker colour.

enormouse Thu 21-Mar-13 16:52:22

The Anne Hathaway crop is gorgeous. Reckon you could pull that off op! I have short hair too and I'm going even shorter (pixie style) 2Moro.

Fanjounchained Thu 21-Mar-13 16:55:55

Short. You have a very pretty face and great bone structure. Go for it !

cocolepew Thu 21-Mar-13 17:00:04

Short, but more choppy. Jean Seberg or Michelle Williams styles would be lovely. I like the Katie Holmes one too.

I grew mine last year and Im already cheesed off with it it 's getting shorter and shorter again!

Mine was short at the sides and back but with a fringe like Katie Holmes.

WoTmania Thu 21-Mar-13 18:08:26

I love this style on Jean Seberg from A Bout de Souffle - this is the pic I took my hairdresser when I wanted to go short again but not have a skinhead. I so tempted to at the moment...

ENormaSnob Thu 21-Mar-13 18:15:50

Definitely short.

Eliza22 Thu 21-Mar-13 18:32:22

Jenna Elfman short crop. I had mine done before Xmas. Loved it.

MoodyDidIt Thu 21-Mar-13 20:01:38

oooh i like a few of those pics, i particularly LOVE the jenna elfman short hair

clpsmum Thu 21-Mar-13 20:03:23

Short definitely

shazbean Thu 21-Mar-13 20:09:29

I'm going to be spectacularly unhelpful as I think you really suit both styles very well. I love the colour of the longer style but if its bugging you chop it off, you'll still look amazing envy

ToothGah Thu 21-Mar-13 20:27:31

I'm going against consensus as well and saying long and red! You look like two different people in your photos, much prefer you with the colour and waves, much less severe.

Fanjounchained Thu 21-Mar-13 20:29:59

How about short and red ! That's what I have now...well short and coppery red not red red iyswim !

Eliza22 Thu 21-Mar-13 20:40:59

Do a "Jenna" OP ! Apparently, one of the most requestion"do's" of last year!!

LeChatRouge Thu 21-Mar-13 20:48:16

This photo is good as shows all angles, also has a bit of the asymmetric fringe that you like.

I vote for short, it will really suit you.

NotAnotherPackedLunch Thu 21-Mar-13 20:54:13

Another vote for short hair. It looks fantastic on you.

jackstini Thu 21-Mar-13 22:19:17

Def short - I would love to go for such a cute pixie crop but unlike you do not have the beautifully balanced features to go for it!

Another vote for short, but I agree with those who have suggested a messy, more pixie type short like Michelle Williams or Anne Hathaway, or Jean Seberg if you're feeling brave (I think her hair is the best pixie ever, but it is very short)

ShrewveTuesday Thu 21-Mar-13 23:52:34

Short. Your wedding pics look amazing. You look fine with longer hair too, but it's more of a non-style (like most of us have...) Great that you've found a defined look that works for you.

You really really remind me of someone - actress or something - but I can't think who...

hippoCritt Thu 21-Mar-13 23:58:25

Short hair, makes you look younger and more defined I think, you look like I'd like to look with short hai-I looked like I had a squashed hedgehog on my head

Thumbwitch Fri 22-Mar-13 01:11:08

Oh I LOVE the Anne Hathaway style! (love her anyway, one of my "girl crushes") Do that one! smile

Dottiespots Fri 22-Mar-13 01:27:20

The short style is so cute and gamine and I would go back to that as it gives you a unique look.

Moknicker Fri 22-Mar-13 01:51:23

Going against the grain and saying long - less severe and I like the colour on you.

But you do look lovely either way - what a great choice to have.

ItsintheBag Fri 22-Mar-13 07:36:48

The very short is stunning.I like the chin length red(hair) color picture aswell.
Your lucky, you have a great face that can take long or short.

AgathaF Fri 22-Mar-13 08:55:19

The short is stunning although maybe a bit severe. More ruffled/pixie would be better, I think.

Also like the long though, maybe a bit darker would be good?

What about a jaw length, graduated bob? You have the lovely bone structure to carry it off. A bit like this

pleasestoptalking Fri 22-Mar-13 09:25:26

yep, a vote for the short style from me. I thought it looked quite striking and in very good condition. The longer style is a bit nothing-y if you see what I mean!

I am currently sporting very nothing-y hair myself and trying to grow it a bit longer but I know I will end up getting fed up and cutting it all off again.

dontoutmyselfthistime Fri 22-Mar-13 09:28:21

The crop is stunning and it suits you.

PLEASE go back to that style.

Acutally I have an inverted bob at the moment and your style is exactly what I would like!

enormouse Sat 23-Mar-13 11:43:56

Moody what did you decide to do?

MoodyDidIt Sat 23-Mar-13 11:52:01

hello all i have a hair appointment at 1, i think i am probably going to go for the crop again

have printed off loads of pics to take to show her, i am well excited, i can't wait now

thanks again for all the lovely helpful comments x

BellaVita Sat 23-Mar-13 12:01:38

You stunner!

NellysKnickers Sat 23-Mar-13 12:01:58

Oh yes, deffo the crop, its gorgeous. I wish I could have my hair like that but I've got a big head so can't!! Please post a pic when its done.

MoodyDidIt Sat 23-Mar-13 15:24:47

have done it!

have put some pics on

hattymattie Sat 23-Mar-13 15:31:06

Missed the before photo's but your hair looks great.

SayMama Sat 23-Mar-13 15:32:18

Beautiful! Well done for being brave

AlanMoore Sat 23-Mar-13 15:39:36

Like! I think you could go shorter tbh smile

Dancealot Sat 23-Mar-13 16:38:33

Love it! It looks really chic and shiny.

BellaVita Sat 23-Mar-13 19:27:44

It looks fantastic!

Thumbwitch Sat 23-Mar-13 22:50:30

Looks great! Are you pleased with it?

CandyCrushed Sat 23-Mar-13 23:41:58

That is really lovely. I love love love it.... smile

<jealous emoticon>

AgathaF Sun 24-Mar-13 09:21:54

Love it, it really suits you.

MoodyDidIt Sun 24-Mar-13 10:26:54

awww thank you

hmmm i am not 100% happy with it though as the hairdresser got a bit scissor happy one side (the shorter side) and the other side is a little bit TOO long....i think she made the cut more complicated than it should have been iyswim

so when i have it trimmed in a few weeks i might go somewhere else and make bloody sure they do it right!

cocolepew Sun 24-Mar-13 10:41:22

I agree with you I think the long side is too long (sorry!!!). I wouldn't have it in a parting and get that side more 'choppy'.

You are very pretty envy
