I need to take better care of myself. I'm a bit inspired by the aforementioned threads and wondered if there's anyone else who needs a list and some discipline?!

I forget to do things, that's my problem. I always remember too late that I haven't put any make up on and then I have to leave without it because there's no time for application!

Annianni Mon 18-Mar-13 22:48:22

I'll lurk in the background.
I keep forgetting to put make up on.
Must do it more often.
and I've put over half a stone on, but we won't go there

I do oil my hair once a week though.

gracelesslady Tue 19-Mar-13 09:25:04

Hi smile

Annianni what hair oil do you use? I was looking in boots yesterday, got overwhelmed and walked away!!

Onelittlelady I do put make up on but I'm crap at body moisturiser and exercise and drinking enough water. I think my make up would look better if it wasn't on a dehydrated hag!

Annianni Tue 19-Mar-13 10:22:13

I use Fushi coconut oil or argan oil.
I buy them from fushi's website or amazon.

I'm sure you're not a hag graceless, dehydrated maybe grin. I'm ok with putting moisturiser and stuff on, I just forget the finishing touches in a morning. Maybe if I got up on time I'd get somewhere wink

gracelesslady Tue 19-Mar-13 22:05:18

Aw cheers onelittlelady, I'm just having one of those days when I feel about 30000 years old.

Have been trying the oil cleansing method and so far it seems to be causing spots and flakiness. Sometimes in the same place. And my hair is mad and my legs are dry. So overall, not the best I could be. Have any of you read the princessing list of gloriousness? It has 20 commandments that if followed will bring about the best you that you can get, iyswim. No idea how to copy and paste it though.... Xx

I'm far, far too lazy for the OCM. I use Olay wipes to take everything off, use a blackhead clearing scrub a couple of times a week and just make sure I slap on plenty of moisturiser. I seem to be doing alright, no major breakouts, no oily patches and currently no dry patches either. Not sure if I should thank the Olay wipes or the Benefit moisturiser for that though.

HungryClocksGoBackFourSeconds Tue 19-Mar-13 22:12:52

Where is this princessing list? I want to join in and am volunteering to copy and paste for you

This is the one I joined in with , before Christmas .
There's a thread somewhere along the lines of 100 days to Christmas or something similar

HungryClocksGoBackFourSeconds Tue 19-Mar-13 22:36:44

Oh dear. That looks like a lot of effort.

Plus I'm a veggie so I can't eat fish, will nuts do?

I think it's for the Omega 3 , so not sure . ( Salmon / oily fish )

I was a lazy Princess , and only did the ones I liked < stamps foot in spoilt Princess fashion >

I don't teeth whiten ( don't like the false teeth look )

Eye lash serum , never heard of it !

Don't drink fizzy drinks anyway , and always have a glass of water on the go .

I think you just adapt the list to suit you , and don't make all the changes in one go !

gracelesslady Wed 20-Mar-13 14:08:51

That's the one!!! Thank you doilooklikeatourist thanks

I'll have a peruse and decide what I can face doing at the moment

gracelesslady Wed 20-Mar-13 14:10:20

Is it disgraceful to want to look amazing with no effort whatsoever? (ie staying up late, drinking too much wine and coffee and eating shite?!)

sweetheart Wed 20-Mar-13 15:23:19

I'm going to start doing this in a couple of weeks when we get back from our Easter holiday and I have
1. a weeks worth of cream teas to shift
2. countdown to bridesmaid date

I had vowed to start it from New Year but I just haven't had the motivation but my dress has now arrived and I absolutly have to get in decent shape!

There are bits I will skip - I really dislike most fish so I can't see me doing that. I've no idea what vitamins I should be taking so I'll skip that too I think and I love a glass of fizzy drink in the evenings so I'm keeping that and just doing a very healthy diet and heavy fitness regime.

gracelesslady Wed 20-Mar-13 20:36:52

I'm going to give it a whirl. Try and do most of them every day, cos then I'll still be doing more for myself than I am now and who says you have to be perfect?!

Today have had my vitamins, used a face mask, done an hour of walking and a bit of a Tracy Anderson dvd. smile

VitoCorleone Wed 20-Mar-13 22:10:36

Count me in, but im not giving up fizzy drinks, i cant live without coke.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Wed 20-Mar-13 22:31:26

I can't leave the house with my make up. My routine is get washed, dressed and put make up on. If I'm in a rush I will make the kids have a quick and easy breakfast and hurry to school. It wouldn't occurrence time to not bother with the make up. Well, unless I had a handy balaclava.

pink sparkly princess balaclava obviously

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Wed 20-Mar-13 22:32:54

Without make up.

Why do I never spot the mistake until after I've posted?

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Wed 20-Mar-13 22:34:06

Oh god I give up.

Occur to me.

<<bows out ungraciously>>

HelgatheHairy Thu 21-Mar-13 12:03:00

To my eternal shame I was the OP on the 100 days to Christmas Princessing challenge and I gave up myself!! I'm keeping an eye on this one but as I'm 20 weeks pregnant I'm not doing much besides sitting on the couch eating biscuits!

Ok I'm joking but that's all I FEEL like doing!

gracelesslady Thu 21-Mar-13 15:35:22

Congratulations helga!

I'm having a twirl and a cup of tea for my lunch and I don't have pregnancy as an excuse grin

Oh Hallo Helga !
Congratulations !
I was on the 100 days til Christmas with you

I chose the rules I liked , and stuck to some of them .

Regular hair cuts
Regular hair removal and eyelash tint
Moisturise
Hand and foot cream
Drink more water and less wine

Try to
Remember to take vitamins
Eat fruit and veg

Ignore
Excercise ( hate it , I'm very lazy )
Hair oil ( no )
Teeth whitener , eyelash serum , exfoliate ( don't like being scratched ) dont drink fizzy drinks anyway , wine only at the weekends ( does start on Thursday , doesn't it ? )

The moisturising and hand cream use makes such a difference ! So quickly . I have pots of cheap hand cream everywhere now !

This has given me the incentive to try and get my act together again .

HelgatheHairy Thu 21-Mar-13 22:48:36

Thanks ladies.

I am doing bits and pieces. I'm taking pregnancy vitamins, moisturising with bio oil (which the dog loves and tries to lick off me!), drinking water, no alcohol (obv) and walking the dog an hour a day (2.5 miles usually) so not too bad I suppose.

gracelesslady Fri 22-Mar-13 14:46:58

I haven't done anything useful today: got make up on but have eaten crap and haven't moisturised or anything. Still time to redeem myself...

gracelesslady Sat 23-Mar-13 13:09:48

Ta da!'s for me today:

Vitamins and flaxseed oil capsules
Half an hour's walk
Most of a litre of water (and it's only 1pm)
Make up on (though chin still looks dreadful:spotty, flaky red and vile)
I've had a good healthy breakfast and am having a tasty healthy lunch
Only had one cup of coffee (that's quite significant progress)

I'm planning on a nice bubbly bath tonight, and will exfoliate and moisturise then.

grin

Today I exfoliated face, applied moisturiser and eye cream and took my vitamins. I'm exhausted wink

gracelesslady Sat 23-Mar-13 19:30:09

Ok fellow vain club/princesses I need your thoughts: I used to wash my face with neutrogena 2 in 1 face wash/mask stuff, and moisturise with botanics (from boots) stuff with SPF 15. Skin ok, but not brilliant. I read about the OCM and thought I'd give it a whirl because there's always room for better skin in my life. Liked it the first few times, then started to get bad spots all over my cheeks and chin. Yak. Then read about the dermaflannel and thought it sounded good(previously used a st Ives scrub) so I bought one and alternated days of OCM and dermaflannel with face wash.

Now I have red, blotchy, spotty, flaky, dry horrible skin and I am
sad and scared and uncertain sad I've stopped OCM altogether, and have gone back to face wash. My skin feels stingy when I put moisturiser on. It looks dreadful: I want it to look soft and glowy and peachy.

Help!!!

gracelesslady Sat 23-Mar-13 19:31:03

Ps have been trying sudocrem at nights. It doesn't sting but isn't helping overall. More sad

TIA

RobbinyoureastereggsSparkles Sat 23-Mar-13 19:42:26

Please can I join? I do a few of the things mentioned but I'm rubbish at drinking water, body moisturiser and eating fruit, fish and vitamins.

I've been doing the Shred recently, although I haven't today as I've been feeling knackered for some reason and my throat hurts. Hope I'm not coming down with the lurgy that DD1 has just recovered from!

RobbinyoureastereggsSparkles Sat 23-Mar-13 19:46:26

What oils have you been using for OCM, Graceless? Maybe you need a different combination?

I started to use olive oil and castor oil but I just kept breaking out. Now I just use pure organic coconut oil, which I really like. I need some more, as I've just run out, so I've been using a garnier scrub but it's far too drying. My skin feels so tight when I've used it!

gracelessCreamEgglady Sat 23-Mar-13 19:52:35

Well I started with castor/sunflower 30/70 because I loved the feeling of the sunflower but thought the castor might be good at getting rid of blackheads and the like. I tried pure coconut and liked that too. But both left me spotty and lumpy and rubbish. I would persevere but only if I could hide away for a few weeks until it settles down but my job does not allow that and I can't cope with having such dreadful looking skin!

RobbinyoureastereggsSparkles Sat 23-Mar-13 20:50:56

Have you tried different quantities? Maybe try adding more castor oil if your skin is becoming oily or maybe less if it's too dry.

I sympathise - I've struggled with my skin so many times over the years and it does just make you want to hide away. Mines not so bad on my face ATM (but fine lines are starting to appear sad ) but my hands are a mess. I've been slathering Vaseline on them to protect them from the cold and it seems to be helping, thank goodness, as they were so sore!

plaingirly Sun 24-Mar-13 08:50:06

I tried OCM and ended up with awful skin! The first few days my skin was so soft but after that I had spots all over my chin and up my cheeks. Plus huge spots that felt like mountains.

Even after I gave up OCM it too a couple of months to get my skin back to how it was before. Not perfect by any means - spots and a bit blotchy but loads better than on OCM.

Fluffycloudland77 Sun 24-Mar-13 08:54:48

Those exfoliating gloves are brilliant for lazy exfoliating, I use them everyday. The pound shop does them too.

I find keeping everything in my bedside drawer helps a lot.

plaingirly Sun 24-Mar-13 09:21:00

I am rubbish at moisturising - I manage to moisturise my face morning and evening but almost never moisturise the rest of me.

It takes soooooooooo long!

Fluffycloudland77 Sun 24-Mar-13 09:49:09

The thing to do is go for a body lotion that doesn't contain mineral oil aka baby oil afaik.

Mineral oils sit on top of the skin for ages but a natural oil supposedly has smaller molecules and sink in more. Or that could just be marketing bollocks.

Anyhow, I use aldi body lotion in the blue bottle as its got glycine soja oil in it and glycerine, it soaks in quickly.

gracelessCreamEgglady Sun 24-Mar-13 14:18:10

Well I think OCM and me are finished then! Will see how skin fares over next few days. Currently feel like I need a paper bag over my head.

Body moisturisers: Nivea ones are lovely. I can't remember the name of my favourite but it smells gorgeous and the DH likes it grin
Will check and get back to you. Not that I'm using it at the moment, am trying to use up all the tubes and pots of stuff I've had as presents etc and then I'm going to buy some of the fave one.

paintyourbox Sun 24-Mar-13 18:16:52

Waves to Helga and DoIlook

I was on the Xmas thread but since going back to work after maternity leave I have lapsed!

I need to do something with my hair- last cut it in December and its a bit of a state now. Also bored of my natural colour!

I'm moisturised , used a sachet of shiny hair conditioner , heel cream on .

Very very cold here , so nice walk this afternoon cancelled .

The bad news is I've broken 2 nails , so need to file them all down to match ,

and got mixed up with the drink 2 litres of water / not drink so much wine ...

HelgatheHairy Sun 24-Mar-13 21:02:31

Waves at paint I remember your username!

Well I got "real" shampoo finally (ran out about a week ago and was using DHs radox blush)

Was going to go for a bath but had to bath the dog instead - twice - due to rolling in fox poo issues and didnt want to use the bath till I've had the chance to deep clean it.

gracelessCreamEgglady Sun 24-Mar-13 21:06:04

That's quite wise helga. I don't think princesses bathe in fox poo grin

Xxx

KateSpade Sun 24-Mar-13 21:26:08

Me! Me! Me! I love a good princessing thread!

However, I have not gotten properly dressed since Friday, in my defence I have come home from Uni for Easter & have been doing Uni work! Oh dear.

I'm at the hairdressers on Wednesday & am having my extensions re-done, I'm currently 'rocking' the dip dye trend, I have dark brown hair & caramac coloured ends, I'm deciding weather to go for more colour or leave it! It's putting an extra £40 on top if the price though!

gracelessCreamEgglady Sun 24-Mar-13 21:38:51

Excellent! More princesses!! Kate, I really truly must get my hair trimmed. I can't actually remember the last time I went - it might have been about a year ago blush

KateSpade Sun 24-Mar-13 21:42:45

I hate getting my hair cut, I asked my mum to do it once, a trim ended up with 4 inches off. I couldn't look her in the face for ages.

<over reaction>

gracelessCreamEgglady Mon 25-Mar-13 09:57:43

grin at Kate.

I have exfoliated, I've got a face mask on, I had breakfast (but it was a hot cross bun. With loads of butter. Yummy.)

Will take vits n mins soon. And drink water. I'd go for a long walk, but it's fecking snowing. Again...

HelgatheHairy Mon 25-Mar-13 10:18:33

I hate having my hair done at the hairdressers. I hate sitting in front of the mirror and I hate the chit-chat. With hair dryers and things going in the background I find it hard to hear what they're saying and it gets very confusing!
I like the massaging chairs at the basins though and I like having my hair washed.

RobbinyoureastereggsSparkles Mon 25-Mar-13 14:41:52

I hate going to the hairdressers too but I have a lovely friend who is a hairdresser and she started doing mine for me. I haven't had it trimmed since July though as I keep forgetting to ask her. My hair is really long!

I've not done that well today. Bath, washed my hair and make up as usual but I have eaten loads of crap and haven't done moisturiser!

I will Shred this evening to make up for it. Probably.

gracelessCreamEgglady Mon 25-Mar-13 21:41:57

Did you Shred then Robbin? I've been for a walk and had 2 pints when I got there

louwn Mon 25-Mar-13 22:29:17

I am trying to do similar for my wedding in August. Lots of fruit, veg, fish, water, replacing caffeine with green tea (not completely as Im a complete caffeine addict!). Attempting to go for my first run in 4 months tomorrow morning if I manage to drag myself out of bed!

RevoltingPeasant Mon 25-Mar-13 22:42:13

Oh God, I so need to do this. I am having my first days off work since Dec 30th (!!) and so far since Sat I have slept through our usual Sunday am swim, only showered once, worn the same sweatshirt every day, and eaten a packet of Jaffa cakes not to mention everything else.

I have drunk a lot of water - does that make up for it?

Ick ick ick.

So getting my hair done later this week and need to start doing Actual Exercise as of tomorrow. You have all inspired me!

NomDeOrdinateur Mon 25-Mar-13 22:48:40

I'm in! My list:

1) Use Bravura London 30% Glycolic Acid Night Cream every evening (already started this, skin looks the best it ever has);
2) Drink at least 2 tall glasses of water per day instead of just herbal tea;
3) Keep on top of hair growth (eyebrows and fringe);
4) Keep nails clipped short;
5) Buy a more flattering blush and actually use it --instead of my No7 Consumptive Coral shade--;
6) Do some exercise 3 times per week;
7) STOP FECKING TOUCHING MY FACE (my worst habit).

Today I picked out and wore clean clothes instead of slobbing in my dressing gown. Washed and moisturised face and used eye cream, took my vitamins, actually remembered to take all my many medications at the right time, trimmed and filed my nails and sorted out my terrible toe nail polish. I feel super proud grin

KateSpade Mon 25-Mar-13 23:04:19

Actually washed my hair today, used a clarifying shampoo and a bed head condition, then applied kerastase.

Used the glycolactic acid face mask by REN, without meaning to be rude, it makes my face feel like my babies ass. grin

debating wether to buy The O from cloud 9,

The O

But my god, the expense! shock

That is a lot of ££££. I never use styling tools on my hair. My hair is really fine and already poker straight so straighteners are wasted on me. My hair NEVER holds a curl either so I just leave it be. I don't even use a hair dryer blush does that make me a bad princess?

KateSpade Tue 26-Mar-13 08:45:45

No! I hardly ever blow dry my hair, I leave it to dry over night. I've blow dryed my hair about 4 times in the last 6 months. Much sleeker looking!

HelgatheHairy Tue 26-Mar-13 09:50:03

kate I've been seriously tempted by the O in the past but just couldn't justify it. Have shortish hair now so it would just be sitting in a press.

HelgatheHairy Tue 26-Mar-13 11:00:25

So showered and hair blow dried so far today. Now sitting on bed as puppy is sleeping and if I get up he'll wake up and I'm enjoying the rest!

KateSpade Tue 26-Mar-13 11:40:21

It's the price that's putting me off.

I'm hoping my hairdresser will give me a demo.

RevoltingPeasant Tue 26-Mar-13 17:03:11

I just went and dropped about £40 on eyeliner so my hand is wearing a lot of make up hmm

Also make appt to get eyebrows and waxed, and hair sheared cut for tomorrow.

Resolution: I will NOT look like the wild man of the woods by lunchtime tomorrow! Who's with me???

gracelessCreamEgglady Tue 26-Mar-13 17:44:45

I've had my hair cut!!! I am all swooshy!! Love the hairdresser. Want to steal her and make her live in my house so I look like this all the time grin

KateSpade Tue 26-Mar-13 18:56:39

I think exactly the same about my hairdresser!

RevoltingPeasant Tue 26-Mar-13 19:18:35

Oooh the swooshy feeling envy

I am going for an appointment with a mortgage person after so hopefully I will look all grown up. Also like I've had my eyebrows ripped off, but grown up.

minimumthebare Tue 26-Mar-13 19:44:53

I'm in! I've had a gel manicure done today, and have a facial, brow wax and lash tint booked for Saturday.

I need to: take my vitamins
Drink water
Walk more
Remember to use heel cream
Stop squeezing my spots blush

gracelessCreamEgglady Wed 27-Mar-13 20:14:23

Vain clubbers: your ta dah!s of the day

gracelessCreamEgglady Wed 27-Mar-13 20:16:19

Vain clubbers: your ta dah!s of the day please. I've only done walking today. And make up. And my hair still looks lush. But I need a kick up the arse inspiration.

thanks

On Monday I had my appointment at the beauty therapist .
Legs , underarms , bikini line and moustache top lip all nice and smooth now .
Eyelashes tinted .

Tuesday and Wednesday , hair washed , moussed and blown dry .
Legs , décolletage and elbows moisturised .
Heels and hands moisturised , special attention paid to cuticles
Lots of water drunk , no wine . But I did have a Dairy Milk . Oops .
Forgot the Vits ( again )
Loads of walking and stairs ( work in a cafe , all part of the job )

HelgatheHairy Wed 27-Mar-13 22:39:30

Didn't do much today besides eat carrot cake!! Did a 3 mile walk on the beach (and a 1 minute jog up sand dunes when puppy wouldn't come back!) but that was pretty much it. A bad day.

RevoltingPeasant Wed 27-Mar-13 22:42:03

I had my hair cut and eyebrows waxed and wore my new smashbox make up all day and felt glam smile

Then ate 4 Cream Eggs and felt fat sad Ah well....

paintyourbox Thu 28-Mar-13 12:06:09

Hello lovelies!

I have taken the plunge and the 30 day shred arrived this morning (eeek!)

I have started applying foot cream and body lotion every night before bed and have upped my water intake!

Baby steps!

gracelessCreamEgglady Thu 28-Mar-13 20:41:10

Paint, you're totally right. My baby step today was only having one cream egg blush

gracelessCreamEgglady Fri 29-Mar-13 19:35:15

So the last few days have been a total right off vain club wise, and today's been pretty pants too, but am about to rectify this with a pamper evening of epic proportions.

Hair mask
Face mask
Exfoliate
Soak in the bath
Scrub feet with pumice, paint toenails and smother in lotion
Smother rest of self in lotion
Dye eyelashes
Paint finger nails if I'm still awake.

I will be marvellous grin

gracelessCreamEgglady Fri 29-Mar-13 19:37:02

Oooh! I might shave my legs too. And take some vitamins before I get in the bath. Half of the problem with this is that I'm so bloody forgetful...

I've today managed to cut, file and paint both finger and toe nails, exfoliate face and apply serum and cream, deep condition hair and take my vitamins. Slightly let down by the fact that I had a coconut Kit Kat Chunky for breakfast though hmm

gracelessCreamEgglady Sun 31-Mar-13 13:02:40

Hello vain clubbers

I'm thinking of doing the carol vorderman detox. I've had the book for yonks, but never done it. Anyone else had a go and come out the other end gleaming?

Xx

gracelessCreamEgglady Sun 31-Mar-13 13:04:38

.... I'm just thinking that there's no point smothering my face with expensive creams if all I'm putting into my body is caffeine chocolate wine and toast.... blush

I'm in, but creating my own list and starting from tomorrow!

Mine is:

Moisturise morning and night (face and body)
Drink more water (I drink a a lot of tea but hardly any plain water and more liquid won't hurt me)
30 day shred, plus at least 20 minutes on exercise bike every day.
Multivitamin every day
Carry on with the diet, had a hypno gastric band so portion sizes are better already. Got 4.5 stone to lose!
Make an effort with clothes, started to dress better for work (can wear what i like, but been doing black skinnies, patent heels, a blouse and a blazer and feel much more professional)
Do nails frequently.

paintyourbox Mon 01-Apr-13 11:21:02

Hello everyone!

It's been a rough time for us as baby DD Has been in hospital (on the mend now thankfully!)

My copy of the 30 day shred has arrived so I am going to kick that off this week!

Today we are doing a massive roast dinner to thank 2 of our friends who have been really helpful to us lately but I am still going to:

1. Body moisturise
2. Paint my nails
3. Scour the Internet for a new hairstyle.

gracelessCreamEgglady Mon 01-Apr-13 14:35:36

Hi paint, so sorry your DD has been poorly. Hope all ok now and g

gracelessCreamEgglady Mon 01-Apr-13 14:36:13

Bloody fat fingers!!! Was going to say good luck with the hair search! Xxx

gracelessCreamEgglady Tue 02-Apr-13 21:44:36

How's everyone doing? I've had a rough day at work, but plan to be lovely to myself as soon as I've finished this lovely soothing bottle of wine

Xx

chunkymonkeybaby Tue 02-Apr-13 22:24:34

Can I join you ladies please? I have a 6mo DD and now she's no longer tiny I'm trying to take better care of myself again. I usually sit her in her bouncy chair whilst I have shower and do body lotion etc then she lays on my bed and watches me put makeup on.

I'm so desperate to keep this up that I'm currently trying to do manicure (minus nail polish) in really dim light whilst she is in her cot next to me grin

gracelessCreamEgglady Tue 02-Apr-13 23:16:04

grin grin grin at chunky monkey!! That's what I need to do more of, rather than lying round drinking wine! Hope you got finished and she didn't wake up

chunkymonkeybaby Tue 02-Apr-13 23:40:39

grin I finished before she woke up, 'twas a quick mani but nails look better nonetheless.

Drinking wine sounds lovely Graceless smile I wish I could! A bit of what you fancy does you good, I think so anyway.

Well so far I am managing to do a proper cleanse/tone/moisturize every day, and use eyecream. Exfoliate lots too and use those scratchy glove things in shower. And body lotion every day. Trying to keep nails nice

chunkymonkeybaby Tue 02-Apr-13 23:43:29

Posted too soon. Also weekly hair treatments. I'm a bit rubbish at drinking water but trying to remember. And I did buy vitamins for breastfeeding, just have to remember to take them!

paintyourbox Wed 03-Apr-13 09:36:15

Well I booked a hair appointment for next week. Scoured the Internet and I am going for a jaw-length bob which will hopefully stop DD constantly pulling my hair.

I managed 2 litres of water yesterday and took my vitamins.

Today I will give myself a pedicure and do an exfoliating session in the shower!

gracelessCreamEgglady Wed 03-Apr-13 12:57:28

Hurray! I've done exfoliating and moisturising, make up, healthy breakfast and lunch and vitamins. And I'm about to go for a walk. Oh and did 25 squats. It's only tiny compared to shredding and wotnot but I might do another 25 later....

HelgatheHairy Wed 03-Apr-13 14:08:19

I dug out my micro pedi again. Just need to figure out how to change the blue buffer bit now as the one on is a bit worn down. Did my nails yesterday too, no colour but filed and buffed and oiled.

An hours walk on the beach today, it was lovely and warm but puppy wants to walk by the dunes where the sand is soft (and harder to walk through). I know it's good for me but I really didn't feel able today.

Have been cleansing and moisturising and eye creaming twice a day and have 3 spots on my chin! Am hoping they'll clear up!

Also dug out bare minerals night treatment and have started using that again.

I have soo much stuff that I've used a few times and then given up.

Is there anything I shouldn't use as I'm pregnant??

I love Fushi products too! They are good value, especially if you buy several items and share with friends; to get free delivery. The Argan oil is very good, if a little odd smelling. But for me the Shea butter, which is one of the cheaper products, is the best. It comes in a jam jar (no money wasted on expensive packaging) and you may have to use a spoon at first to get it out. But be patient let it melt a bit and rub it into your skin, hair, hands wherever. I've always had very dry skin, hate wearing tights etc but if i rub this into my feet and legs before pulling on tights I find that my skin is still soft and silky at the end of the day when I pull my tights off. I also rub it into my face for moisture boost and into the ends of my hair. I tried the carrot oil but forgot i'd rubbed it into my face before dashing off to shops - not a good look (judging by the glances I got) and it can stain clothing!

Hello,

Can I join?

In the last few weeks I've sorted out my house cleaning regime, my bad eating habits and exercise.

But I'm sitting here un showered, hair scraped back, old work tshirt (haven't worked there in about 7 years) and leggings covered in paint (I wore them when I painted my utility room a few weeks ago, and the paint hasn't come off in the wash).

Where do I start?????

Start with just one thing, say giving yourself a manicure or committing to weekly exfoliation in the shower. Baby steps Karbea smile

Sound advice onelittlelady smile one thing today, maybe put some make up on, tomorrow body lotion, next day paint your toe nails.

Today I have had breakfast (again! 2 days running!!) and vitamins all washed down with berocca, and then..,

Body brushed
Exfoliated face and put a face mask on
Got in the bath, scrubbed self with a scrubby mitt and something frothy
Shaved legs
Got all rinsed and put moisturiser all over when I got out.
Have just filed and painted nails and am about to put make up on once moisturiser has sunk in a bit.

I feel lovely. I should do this every day.... grin

I'm trying to keep up with a decent routine but still end up with dryish hands, lips etc. Looking after 6mo doesn't do much for your looks does it!

Oh well, she's worth it grin

gracelessCreamEgglady Thu 04-Apr-13 21:18:29

Chunky, get some hand cream either lots of little tubes or one big one to decant into smaller tubs, and put one next to your bed, the kitchen sink, in the loo, you get the picture. And every time you wash your hands, or think they feel dry, put some cream on. Xx

chunkymonkeybaby Thu 04-Apr-13 22:20:56

I have the hand cream on every sink but am just too lazy to use it sometimes grin

Well I've done quite well today. I used my Ojon restorative hair treatment, did a proper cleanse, tone, moisturise, exfoliated as well actually. Used an eyecream as well. Body lotion too, I'm getting good at using it after every shower.

I also managed to sort out my nails properly, as I had done a crap job doing them in dim light a couple of nights ago grin

gracelessCreamEgglady Sun 07-Apr-13 19:41:08

I'm a bit shite at nails chunkymonkey - what do you do??

gracelessCreamEgglady Sun 07-Apr-13 19:42:08

Ooh and drank 2 litres of water today, and had vitamins and have eaten a load of crap but hey ho, can't have everything grin

I sorted my nails and took my vitamins. Other than that, I have been a shit princess today. To be honest though, that double decker was worth it grin

gracelessCreamEgglady Tue 09-Apr-13 11:20:56

Shit princesses are still princesses grin

I have been quite good though, doing the killer Tracy Anderson DVDs, drinking loads of water, moisturising quite regularly, haven't had any wine for a fortnight (this is genuinely amazing) and I've just bought some Olay regenerist night stuff that will make me look 15. I think.

Am so impressed with myself about the wine. Now just need to tackle the coffee habit.....

Hi Graceless

Well when I do my nails I file them, into a kind of 'squoval' shape I guess. I have a Leighton Denny crystal file which is really nice. I then sort out my cuticles using cuticle remover, I think the one I'm currently using is a boots own brand one. I then buff my nails and use some cuticle oil (usually OPI Avoplex) and handcream, my favourite one is the L'Occitane Shea butter one. I used to use OPI nail envy or paint my nails but don't really have time to very often now.

gracelessCreamEgglady Wed 10-Apr-13 11:36:35

Thanks thanks - top tips. I think I've got cuticle remover somewhere, just need to get my arse in gear and apply it! I use loads of hand cream but the princessing stops there, and you can tell cos my nails look atrocious.

So far I've done vitamins and breakfast. Oh and body brushing before my shower. I need to print that list out and put it somewhere I'll read it....

chunkymonkeybaby Wed 10-Apr-13 12:15:47

I'm useless with vitamins, I have to remember to take them!

Well today all I've really managed is exfoliating and moisturising. Although my skin feels so much nicer now I'm putting body lotion on every day.

Not feeling very glam or princessy still slobbing around in my maternity clothes!

Hello? Anybody there?

....imagining all the princesses lying around drinking gin to ease their hangovers, eating chips, with mad hair and bitten nails grin
