I'll snog anyone who can find me suitable tan wedges or sandals.....ARGH!

I'm having a nightmare, posted on here a few weeks ago and I am still on the hunt! I need mid heel (a scary height for me as i'm usually flats or sky high), tan leather wedges or slides or sandals...

Not keen on a block heel, I can't do an ankle strap as it cuts off my legs or anything from clarks shock.

I LOVE these but they are all either way too high or way too £££.. Budget up to £60 - £70

I have exhausted the high street, if anyone can find me something perfect to race after the kids in and still look stylish in shorts or dress I would SNOG you!

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 19:05:36

Just noticed 2 of them have ankle straps - see I'm having a NIGHTMARE!

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 19:10:17

I'll have a little hunt for you, what size do you need? Lots of sandals in the sales in random sizes left!

Caravela Kurt Geiger Kaitlin in Tan - £75 - the most comfy wedges I've had! Slingbacks. Can walk for miles in them

napoleonscat Sun 17-Mar-13 19:20:38

vente-privee have a sale of footwear by Sixty Seven at the moment. I think it ends on Thursday. You have to join the site, and it takes a bit of time for the things to actually arrive, but it might be worth a look?

FFS links sorry

JumpHerWho Sun 17-Mar-13 19:26:25

Ooh Mint Velvet do have lovely ones, I like the ones with snakeskin strap.

JumpHerWho Sun 17-Mar-13 19:27:53

Ted Baker - too ££?

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 19:30:33

Mango - too high?

chocolatecheesecake Sun 17-Mar-13 19:34:28

Marking my place - second summer of looking...

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 19:35:31

Thanks Ladies, I am a size 8 - 42, def not a 41, although if a peep toe I could poss squeeze into them.

Like the carvela ones, are they very high Looster? Will I be able to run after a 4yr old in them?

Not sure of the colour or the zip on farfetch ones Chocamochalatte, sorry.. Like the sketchers ones but heel height says 'high'..

again JumpHerWho ok style but too high.. (i'm 5'9 already so don't want to tower in these, but don't want flats)

Love some of the mint velvet ones NinaNannar, potentially these snakeskin ones would work??

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 19:38:34

Ted baker too ££, and don't want black, pref all tan JumpHerWho but lovely style...

Littlepandabear those are too high I think? and a bit heavy on the leather for me - I've big feet already so if shoes are too clompy I look ridiculous!

chocolatecheesecake I feel your pain, this should be SO SIMPLE!

Dune but have ankle strap...

giftwrappedkittycat Sun 17-Mar-13 19:46:06

I was going to suggest the Greater Wedges from Dune - £65. I have them and love them but just realised you dont want an ankle strap. Will look again smile

ATouchOfStuffing Sun 17-Mar-13 19:46:14
NinaNannar Sun 17-Mar-13 19:49:14

the snakeskins work imo

what are these FOR

giftwrappedkittycat Sun 17-Mar-13 19:50:44

How about the Grady or Gleeful from Dune? There's actually quite a few non-ankle strap tan wedges on their site with various heel heights and reasonably priced.

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 19:54:59

NinaNannar yeah I like the snakeskin ones too. Going to Mallorca at Easter and NYC in june, so need low wedges that I can team with shorts, dresses, crops to wear during the day. They need to be comfortable but STYLISH as I refuse to resort to comfort wear even tho I am going to walk the entire length of 5th Ave!

I have tan suede wedges which are high, which I can wear in the evening, but I am looking for day wedges/sandals. I have flats already, just fancied something with a low heel..

found these do they look mumsy? I think they're on the edge??

as with these not sure

NinaNannar Sun 17-Mar-13 19:55:10

i like the molly snakesking flat sandals on jigsaw website - wish I had seen them

AWimbaWay Sun 17-Mar-13 19:56:57
madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 19:59:00

Grady & Gleeful still look high imo giftwrappedkittycat and don't get me wrong I love my 6" platforms, but I am thinking 'could I run through T5 after DD in those'? Also need to be low enough that they don't ache after 4 hrs....

So i suppose i'm looking for flats essentially but with some height... hmm

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:00:32

You're on the right lines AWimbaWay but I just don't like those... they look comfy tho.

AWimbaWay Sun 17-Mar-13 20:00:40
staverton Sun 17-Mar-13 20:00:51

I saw these m.frenchconnection.com/app.php/productDetail/SFAZ9/Woman%20Collections%20Shoes/desc
In French connection they other day, and they are lush.
They do other tan ones too.

staverton Sun 17-Mar-13 20:01:27

Xposts wimbaway!

AWimbaWay Sun 17-Mar-13 20:01:36

Link didn't work, it's the PIA PLATFORM SANDALS.

AWimbaWay Sun 17-Mar-13 20:02:15

x-post again, and your link does work grin

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:05:07

Yeah those are nice Staverton and AWimbaWay, they're Leather PU, which is disappointing for £75... not sure about ankle strap too ;(

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:07:27

I WANT THESE cookoo.mysupadupa.com/collections/summer-shoes/products/chlo%C3%A9-wooden-wedge-leather-sandals but lower. Surely its not much to ask from Chloe!

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:11:01

OK, just seen these, far too bling, but the kind of heel height I want?

moda in pelle

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:15:10

Yes yes yes littlepandabear now if you'd be so kind as to find them in tan that would be marvellous!

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 20:17:21

Aldo but have an ankle strap!

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 20:18:16

They have the blue ones in black and brown too but not in your size...

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 20:21:25

More Aldo - meet the brief?

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:21:42

yes to the style littlepandabear but no the the colours.. Oh lordy they would be perfect in tan and gold, or tan and navy or tan!

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:22:41

Meet the brief - but just fugly?? soz ;(

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 20:23:34

I agree, I wouldn't wear those last ones! I think I've run out of shoe websites now!

chocolatecheesecake Sun 17-Mar-13 20:24:35

I've ordered the Skechers ones to try, and also these:

Which I thought might fit your low wedge/no ankle strap criteria? They're the dune jimmo sandal in case the link doesn't work (first time adding link from my phone)

Ordering doesn't mean solved unfortunately as I have a high return rate on day sandals (last pair I kept I bought five years ago and wore until they fell apart), but here's hoping...

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:25:20

Ha ha, I love you for trying tho!

I seem to feel there is a GAP IN THE MARKET if any shoe manufacturers are watching! Just want an on trend, mid heel, tan leather wedge or sandal....

<goes off to tear out hair> <weep>

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 20:26:46

I saw those irl chocolatecheesecake lovely but I don't wear alot of yellow sad

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 20:26:54

Last try Russell & Bromley but guess they're too bling for daytime.

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 20:35:37

blush wink

Hanginggardenofboobylon Sun 17-Mar-13 20:39:35

Have tried searching on Shopstyle? Gives you a wide range of retailers in one place.

LittlePandaBear Sun 17-Mar-13 20:47:12

Yoox - there are millions of wedges on here, have a look through (although most are too high)

Okay, am definitely leaving it to you now, before I buy more shoes myself! smile

nilbyname Sun 17-Mar-13 21:02:56

op I really like the dune ones you linked to with the woven ropey bit across the food and the stud detailing on the side. Not mumsy.

I am concerned about your mention of cropped trousers....do you mean ankle skimming or full on Capri? I think Capri pants par a real danger into a full on mum look. What's next, tunics?

FreyaKItty Sun 17-Mar-13 21:14:48

I saw these in a newspaper supplement and thought they were lovely (euro pricing so look more expensive). I'd just bought 70's style sandals from boden otherwise I would have bought them
Still might !
I was suprised to see they were Ecco.

tethersend Sun 17-Mar-13 21:46:56
madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 21:49:56

Hobbs ones looks ok tethers, never keen on a T bar if i'm honest but may be worth a try.. (other 2 not my thang)

Also just seen NEXT i'm breaking my ankle strap rule but they seem quite un fugly imo??

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 21:51:49

Maybe i'll order Hobbs & Next ones and snog tethers and myself grin grin

altho happy to snog you all for looking tbh..... wink

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 21:57:12

FreyaKItty nice style but they look a bit bulky and orangey...

cockbollocks not my style but thanks...

Hanginggardenofboobylon shopstyle is normally my saviour, not this time..

EarlyInTheMorning thanks, like the aldo ones but think they're too high and FLY shoes are a pet hate, sorry..

LittlePandaBear those YOOX ones could work coudn't they.... ummm <rubs chin>

Turquoiseblue Sun 17-Mar-13 22:16:20

sorry if these have been suggested already, sporrted them yesterday in zara, they re lovely ....
(even if they re not quite tan they re worht a look ! )

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 22:44:45

Those ZARA ones are heaven turquoiseblue have similar but I'm looking for a low wedge atm..

madammecholet Sun 17-Mar-13 22:45:40

friendlymum67 those kinda need to be peep toe to work imo... not sure. thanks tho.

Looster Sun 17-Mar-13 22:46:32

Madammecholet - in answer to your qu re Carvela ones from near top of the thread - I can run in these after my 4 year old, not wobbly or too high

OP I know what you mean re peep toe - that would be my ideal style too. Bowing out with suggestions but avidly watching to see what others suggest - in the hope someone else finds the perfect shoe for me too smile

madammecholet Mon 18-Mar-13 08:02:40

Thanks looster, they're a contender.

Friendlymum67 I feel like this could be an eternal quest.

I've ordered the NEXT ones, hoping they are better made than they look tbh, else they'll be going back. BUT at least I get to either confirm I hate ankle straps of change mind and order Hobbs ones for a look see...

THANKS ladies wine

I have lovely Clarks originals ones

Pinkflipflop Mon 18-Mar-13 10:36:14

Why, why, why do I come on style and beauty??!

I love those tan carvela wedges and the fact that they are comfy makes them ideal!

Thanks for the recommendation!

JesusBuiltMyHotrod Mon 18-Mar-13 11:11:00

For anyone who is now coveting the KG Carvela Kaitlin wedges there is 25% off on the KG website using the code VOGUE25 which makes them £56.25

Pinkflipflop Mon 18-Mar-13 12:39:54

Ooohhh, just ordered the tan wedges, thanks so much for the discount code!

madammecholet Mon 18-Mar-13 14:44:22

Next ones arrived, no good, ankle strap just looks so un flattering on me for some reason.. 5'9 but size 8 feet so it makes them look like hobbit feet somehow.....

gonna look at mint velvet and hobbs ones again...

KG ones too similar to tan wedges I already have..

faustina Mon 18-Mar-13 15:56:54

have you been to [[ www.shoeaholics.com shoeaholics]] yet? They should have something

AWimbaWay Mon 18-Mar-13 15:59:18

I also want the carvela ones, just worried about the height, I don't do heels, am I going to be constantly going over on my ankle? But then I'm imagining them adding a couple of inches to my legs, which at 5ft 1 I could really use, especially when wearing summer dresses [optimistic].

AWimbaWay Mon 18-Mar-13 16:12:25

Just ordered them, eek, I'll report back. At least your thread is helping some of us buy things we shouldn't madammecholet grin

madammecholet Mon 18-Mar-13 17:21:09

grin AWimbaWay

<still sat here trawling shoe sites....yawn>

madammecholet Mon 18-Mar-13 17:25:01

I've decided I need these for £60 please..grin

Jimmy Choo

Pinkflipflop Mon 18-Mar-13 17:39:46

If you love the jimmy choo ones and they are ideal could you stretch to them? Birthday, anniversary money etc?

Impose shopping ban then?

<probably not remotely helpful>

mumat39 Mon 18-Mar-13 18:08:47

Search on amazon for wedge sandal. This is the sort of things they have

BikeRunSki Mon 18-Mar-13 18:18:48

I have pretty much the same requirements in sandals, and also have a 4 yo and size 42 feet. I got the White Stuff ones a couple of years ago (they had cork soles then) and they are perfect. I also "collect" the White Stuff Angelina wedge court shoes they do every season in different colours.

madammecholet Mon 18-Mar-13 18:34:00

pinkflipflop not sure I can £275 on cork, plus only go up to size 40....

Mumat39 can't see anything like the Jimmy Choos on amazon.. you seen anything?

BikeRunSki they look comfy bit they're not sandals... I need open toe really..

I am seriously not a negative person, quite the opposite, I am just finding this search impossible!

Thanks all for looking tho - v much appreciate it..

BikeRunSki Mon 18-Mar-13 18:44:25

Are you looking at the right ones madammecholet? the Alice wedges Alfafamum linked to have open toes (but also ankle straps ...)

mumat39 Mon 18-Mar-13 18:56:31

Sorry madamme, I don't thinki can. I missed the jimmy choo info. <must get me some reading glasses>

madammecholet Mon 18-Mar-13 18:56:41

I cannot do ankle straps - cuts legs in two - not nice on me.... Most sandles have ankle straps atm..

I just need a low heel or wedge (not flat), open toe, tan leather sandal with no ankle strap. Not fugly.

It seems an impossible task unless I am prepared to spend £250+....

I bought a pair last week - they are very comfy, heel is a good height (I like a heel but can't wear them too high) and a reasonable price I thought.

cornsilkcremeeggspotter Mon 18-Mar-13 19:47:25

I like these but they don't have them in my size <pouts>

BikeRunSki Mon 18-Mar-13 19:53:21
NeverKnowinglyUnderstood Mon 18-Mar-13 19:53:43

ooh just realised I am too late to tell you that vogue25 gets you a 25% discount at kurt geiger..

faustina Mon 18-Mar-13 19:58:21

toast Too expensive?

faustina Mon 18-Mar-13 19:59:50

...the fringe bit is removable - click on the photo without it

LittlePandaBear Mon 18-Mar-13 20:34:55

Can't believe you haven't found 'the ones' yet! grin

I've looked at Yoox again, some more options for you:

Yoox 1

Yoox 2

Yoox 3 too expensive anyway

Yoox 4

Yoox 5

Yoox 6 too high?

Yoox 7

BikeRunSki Mon 18-Mar-13 22:01:17

bhs but not leather

BHS these are though

BikeRunSki Mon 18-Mar-13 22:14:12

BikeRunSki - I like the Monsoon tulip ones - don't think they look frumpy?? Are Monsoon shoes generally comfy??

BikeRunSki Mon 18-Mar-13 22:35:42

I have some other Monsoon shoes and they are fine. They are the shoes I wear with my "wedding guest" dress and they always last the course of a wedding!

I don't think they look frumpy. Well, they might with a beige polyester slack suit...

grin Thanks BikeRunSki - I do like them a lot (hides beige polyester slack suit away)

madammecholet Tue 19-Mar-13 12:06:35

OK, i've given up on tan and gone for some neutral wedges, just ordered these direct from shop as sold out online, am hoping 41 will fit <crosses fingers>

Quite like the Jimmy Choo ones:

CockBollocks Tue 19-Mar-13 18:33:12

I think the 2nd pair will be easier to chase after kids in. Not ideal but slightly better!

madammecholet Tue 19-Mar-13 18:42:21

I know what you mean cockbollocks, it just seems an impossible ask.... (or am I asking the impossible!) grin

AWimbaWay Wed 20-Mar-13 12:58:49

My Carvela Kurt Geiger Kaitlin shoes have arrived, so far they do seem very comfortable and look great, hopefully I'll still feel that way after walking in them all day (which looking at the snow outside could be a while off).

Thanks for recommendation Looster and thanks for the code JesusBuiltMyHotrod!

chocolatecheesecake Thu 21-Mar-13 19:09:52

I ordered two pairs of sandals from reading this thread.

Skechers wedges suggested at the start of this thread arrived yesterday and the finish is poor (raggedy edges to the lining) and the style not for me.

The Dune Jimmo sandals are lovely. I think I'll keep them as the neon yellow flashes should contrast nicely with all the navy and cobalt I wear.

JesusBuiltMyHotrod Fri 22-Mar-13 09:45:08

My KG Kaitlin wedges arrived a few days ago. Big thanks to the poster who recommended them...I think you have solved my holiday shoe issues as these should fit the bill for most occasions. Roll on May when they will accompany mt on holiday to Spain...judging by the several inches of snow outside, I'll not get much of a chance to wear them before then.
