MountainOrMolehill Sun 10-Mar-13 09:06:19

FinnTheHuman Sun 10-Mar-13 09:10:43

Chilli chocolate, chilli cheese, and a bottle of piña colada to wash them down.

Toast in bed, and I've just sent DS to his dad to fetch me my third cup of tea, while still in bed.

IShallCallYouSquishy Sun 10-Mar-13 09:29:48

I got a sloppy 9.5month olds kiss and a very thoughtful personal card from her smile apparently she wanted to take me on a picnic but the weather has scuppered her plans. Think we are going to have a picnic in the living room later. First Mother's Day has been pretty amazing so far grin

Mrsrobertduvall Sun 10-Mar-13 09:32:38

Chocolate buttons.
And a meltdown from dd about maths gcse.

LoopDeLoops Sun 10-Mar-13 09:33:48

But happy happy Mother's Day to you all. Mwah mwah xxx

MrsKoala Sun 10-Mar-13 09:39:23

My first Mothers Day. I was only expecting a card but got Game of Thrones dvd (funny that DH really wanted to see that) and a lovely necklace and matching earrings and a really gorgeous card - its amazing what a 6 month old can do grin

However, this was because DH is on a warning after my birthday last month, where i got a card saying Happy Mothers Day and a frying pan confused .

angelinterceptor Sun 10-Mar-13 09:39:50

My DD has been up making my a microwave choc cake and icing it.

Also lovely card from her and my DS.

They also bought me the Skyfall DVD as I am the only person in the family (country) who hasn't seen it yet!

Mugglewhump Sun 10-Mar-13 09:40:35

A handwritten card from Dd 5 " To Mummee, I will do al your jobs toodae, luv Sophie, Georg and James" . A sausage sandwich and cup of tea in bed and my annual mothers day present of a bottle of gin!

HandMini Sun 10-Mar-13 09:43:18

Two homemade cards from DD1 (nanny - assisted as opposed to DH's doing). A bit of a rough night from poor little DD2 who is only five weeks and has a cold. Looking forward to a day with DH around and going to get him to do all the cooking...I don't care if its toast and omelette as long as I don't have to go in the kitchen.

daisydoodoo Sun 10-Mar-13 09:43:26

An unexpected present of a bead for my bracelet. I know a lot of style and beauty afficionado's will think this beyind tacky, but I love my trollbead bracelet. Its not got many beads on but all chosen by my gorgeous dc.

Iwillorderthefood Sun 10-Mar-13 09:45:18

A lie in, breakfast in bed and a poem that likened me to a chef, which had DH and I in well hidden stitches. My cooking is adequate.

Iwillorderthefood Sun 10-Mar-13 09:45:30

It was lovely though.

Special Mother's Day Congrats to Muggle and Mini and any others with tiny newbies thanks
Ahhh x

cocolepew Sun 10-Mar-13 09:50:44

AWimbaWay Sun 10-Mar-13 09:51:07

Beautiful handmade cards with poems, Ds's poem likened me to a lovely soft pillow and Dd1's to a soft chinchilla. I may start a diet tomorrow. They are wonderful grin.

CeeceeBloomingdale Sun 10-Mar-13 09:51:22

Lots of loveliness - a tan leather bag (bought this myself and hubby refunded me), flowers, box of chocs and a slab of decorated chocolate from each girl that they chose themselves. Several cards, a bought one from each and the eldest made 3 homemade ones at school, rainbows etc. Now the down side - it's snowing, they woke me at 6:30 and hubby snored until 9:30 before getting me a cuppa. He's off to footy all day and big one has a party to go and I need to clean for MIL coming to so my Mother's Day will be short lived. I have EARNED these gifts wink

cocolepew Sun 10-Mar-13 09:52:38

Oh and DD2 made me cornflake buns yesterday that appear to be 90% chocolate!

TheOneAndOnlyAlpha Sun 10-Mar-13 09:54:52

Seeds for my new garden. Perfecto!

Limelight Sun 10-Mar-13 10:02:58

Home-made cards from both DC (DS is 5, DD is 2) and they helped DH make breakfast. Also a particularly special drawing of me, DS (5), and a stoat doing some 'crazy mother's day moves'.

He's a bit of a one off my boy. smile

stoat sounds fun Limelight smile Nice imagination !

Happy mothers day everyone thanks

Ds who is 11 has been working his socks off for 2 months to earn money for an xbox memory thing, or so I thought, he has really been out washing neighbours cars, doing lots of extra jobs in the house and taking a neighbours dog for a walk to earn money to buy me the insanity fitness dvds, I sobbed when he told me he planned it all.

I got 4 homemade cards, chocolate, flowers and best of all lots of cuddles and kisses from ds and my 3 dds who thought putting bright red lipstick on before smothering me in kisses would be hilarious grin

CareerGirl01 Sun 10-Mar-13 10:24:32

Congrats to all the first-time MD mums here! Got home made and shop card and home made chocolates from DD1 (4YO) and the appearance of a very obvious foot from DD2 - who is minus 8 weeks! I never saw anything like this when pg with DD1 so it was scary and lovely at the same time.

foxysocks Sun 10-Mar-13 10:44:16

A hama bead creation saying "mum power", two paper flowers (to add to the vase of fading paper flowers I get from DD every celebration), a big box of chocolates, yellow tulips, and a story written by DS (11) in which I feature as a very skilled sniper hmm.

Breakfast in bed, scrambled eggs and crispy bacon presented "master chef style" according to DS,with lots of height!

Bacon sandwich and coffee in bed, homemade cards, tissue paper flowers and a 'promise voucher' made at school (ds1) and playgroup/home (ds2), cuddles and an argument free day. On Thursday I got a card from DD that she made at nursery. Today she threw up all over me. She did the same thing last year.

SoYo Sun 10-Mar-13 16:29:28

First Mothering Sunday here. 11 day old DD made me a card with a photo of her on on the computer this morning (she's very advanced) while I snoozed after getting total of 90 mins sleep overnight. DH is making roast dinner & homemade profiteroles (yummy) & is very apologetic over lack of pressie but as he hasn't left my side in 12 days he's very forgiven! He's going to take us for nice lunch out later this week. Very lucky Mummy here. Best bit is warm snugly newborn cuddles.

OhMyNoReally Sun 10-Mar-13 16:30:59

ujjayi Sun 10-Mar-13 17:26:35

Happy Mothers Day all smile. What a lovely thread - so sweet to hear of sloppy kisses, homemade cards and tales of heroic mothers ;)

For those of you who are left feeling disappointed, I hope you at least manage some lovely cuddles and moments with DCs today.

DC brought me breakfast in bed - fruit salad & a cup of Assam. A bunch of ranunculus & anenomes in a jam jar and two lovely homemade cards. DH cooked lunch - roast beef, yum. And we've just had a cosy day at home.

This has been such a special day for me. I have been very ill recently and am learning more and more the importance of enjoying each and every moment.

Jayne266 Sun 10-Mar-13 17:34:19

I got a lie in and a foot and hand casting kit from my DH and lovely cards. It's my first mothers day.

My DD used his first ever £2 pocket money to buy me 2 bars of chocolate which he put in a paper bag and then decorated.. <weeps>..

plus a bouquet of flowers from DD & MAC makeup (how the kids 10yrs/4yrs knew my requirements?!)...

I then put DH on the train to Twickenham to watch ENG V Italy and had the family (women) over for girls tapas & prosecco lunch... bliss wine

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 11-Mar-13 11:27:42

MissyMooandherBeaverofSteel - if you see this can you pm me? ta!

JumpHerWho Mon 11-Mar-13 11:40:55

Ordered myself a beautiful Becksondergaard scarf though which DH doesn't know so thank you very much 14mo DS smile

SkylarWhite Mon 11-Mar-13 14:48:25

I got woken up at 7am (grrrrr) but I did get tea and chocolate in bed shortly afterwards, some lovely cards and more gifts than I have ever received before! DH got me a voucher for a deep tissue massage (I could have cried...so stressed lately!) and DS had saved his pocket money and bought me chocolates, flowers, a teddy, a new take-out coffee mug (mine broke last week) and some smelly stuff. I was touched.

Got my mum a big bouquet of spring flowers and made her dinner.

Andro Mon 11-Mar-13 15:19:20

Chocolate from DD, vegetable seedlings from DS (I grow veg and he picked some lovely ones) and DH...Dh is spoiling me. I am being sent to France to have custom perfume made for me, he has made the arrangements but won't tell me where he's sending me!
