For many years I wore nothing in bed. But the DCs are now at the age when they do not wish to be confronted with dear old Mater's sagging boobage should we meet on the landing in the middle of the night.

For quite some time I have been wearing old stocks of PJs. But I feel so blah in them.

Please help. What can I wear?

I do NOT wish to wear:

Silk or satin or nylon (or anything else shiny or slinky, remind me of nylon sheets of childhood)
Nighties (they end up round my waist)
PJs with cutesie wootsie ickle animals on the front
PJs with slogans alluding to my "hotness," "grumpiness," "sleepiness," or shopping habits
Actually PJs with any slogans at all come to think of it.

There must be SOMETHING. I bought a nice PJ set from Matalan recently, but my knee went through the trousers the first time I wore them, so that was that.

Primark are quite good for "lounge pants" (plain or spotty) and vests with a little bit of built-in support.

(not enough support to not wear a bra in the daytime, but enough to keep your boobs in the correct area at nighttime)

I have these and I LOVE them! So much so that the first thing I do when I get in from work is go and put them on! They are super comfy and they look good too. Plus there is 30% off Gap at the moment so they are a bargain too.

I wear them with any old vest top / t-shirt / hoody depending on how warm I'm feeling.

As Norbert suggests I think this would keep everything intact

trills thank you might check them out although I tend to avoid Primark if I can, sort of the Findus Lasagne of the fashion world aren't they? But they do sound nice...

I have cotton trousers from Gap/Boden worn with a vest top, and also some lovely White Co PJs which keep me toasty (Xmas pressie). Worth seeing if anything still in Hush sale?

I have a couple of pairs of White Company pyjamas, similar to these. I love them.

I wear jersey bottoms (last couple of pairs came from M&S Autograph and they are great) with a long t-shirt/vest (hate the cold gap on your back if they are not long enough) and a hoodie if it's really cold.

I think bottoms are too hot in bed. I'd go for oversized nightshirt, as in an old work shirt of DP's if he has any, or new like this

What about jersey shorts and a vest or tee.

I adore my white company pyjamas and also have some sets from bravissimo which are nice!

I wear a vest or a t shirt.
I never buy specific night wear. I just go for soft material.

I do buy PJ bottoms for slobbing around and for cold nights.

i love the pjamas that include a vest top and pattered trousers or shorts. e.g checkered or striped cute but not too ickle girlie girl. my partner loves them but i always seem to end up wearing his tahirts to bed which he finds equally adorable xx

i have some tk maxx calvin klein seperates (short and long sleeve top), look nice and are snug

I don't wear anything to sleep at night, but wear lounge clothes around the house and a dressing gown/robe by the bed for any night time wondering and first thing in the morning.

I'll second trills on the Primark pjs.......the only thing I get there, the nice cotton flowery ( bit Cath K) ones with secret support vests, nice....and for the price you can buy loads so they don't wear out.

if you're just worried about meeting people on the landing, just buy a nice dressing gown from toast and put that on when you get out of bed. It's what I do!

I bought two pairs of Hush Pjs in the sale last year. Still saving one pair to wear.
They are button up, flannel (so very warm) but really pretty and no one can see the sagging boobs.
I also have 2 bravissimo nightdresses with support i.e. integral soft cup jersey bra type things.

Am happy for anyone to see me in either but these were major purchases after years of feeling embarrassed of my nightwear.

Nooo -don't get HUSH. I was fooled by them and bought a few pairs (on sale each time) but I never wear them any more. The material goes all hard after a few washes and I had to replace the elastic in the pj bottoms of 2 pairs.

I have 1 pair of white comany pyjamas which are ridiculously comfortable and have washed really well (3 yrs still going) but they don't do many in pure cotton now, lots of their stuff is modal etc. which defeats the object of the white company I think (and I have emailed to tell them!).

Hush pyjamas. They cosy and not cutesy.

M and s limited collection. I like the check bottoms and the long tops

Hush massively overpriced IMO

Gap tops and bottoms can be mixed and matched but they do tend towards the twee sometimes

A lovely dressing gown from toast for impromptu meetings

I have very soft pj bottoms I wear with an m&s of top which has a secret support for my boobs. And I have a massive cashmere shawl for wrapping round me when I stay at pils and want to look dressed as they have friends who pop round for early morning coffee on the terrace.

Ooooh Schnitzel and Jamais, was going to recc Hush but I've only just bought my first pair of PJs from them....hope they don't disappoint after washing, as they seem lovely now - cosy, soft, non-cutesy fabrics.

I like thermal vest style long sleeve tops and baggy pyjama bottoms (flannel cotton from Gap) usually.

How about Trills' suggestion of Chanel 5 (or an affordable equivalent) in bed and a nice dressing gown out of it. When pubescent nudity-angst became an issue we dealt with it by equipping everyone in the family with robes, fluffy towelling for winter, and light cotton for summer/travelling, and instituting informal house-rules about wearing these outside the bedroom on nocturnal trips to the bathroom etc. Within a couple of years, DCs ceased to be bothered about what they exhibited on the landing at night or to whom. We've still got the fluffy robes though, for sitting by the fire on chilly winter evenings or making brealfast in the morning.

Hush pyjamas every time! Wash them at 30 on a gentle cycle or they do go hard and shrink a bit.
