Has anyone found a way to improve sagging jowls?

My previously heart shaped jawline is now square as I've got a bit of slippage in the jowl area not loads yet, but enough. Other than surgery is there anything I can do about it?
I think, from what I have read, that facial exercises are the only recourse outside of surgery. Google them. Many people who have reportedly stuck to them have had quite obvious results, but you do have to keep it up!
There are a few on youtube worth a try, and take no real effort - something you can do in mirror or whilst relaxing on sofa anytime. I had this fear last yr about my cheeks and the little workouts did bring some results. Something I will definitely return to when I am a tad older and things begin to slacken.
Nobody seems to recommend this type of thing because it doesn't cost anything. It can't be marketed. It's free, so people kind of doubt that it can work. Flawed logic!
Also, I did the workout for the area where nose meets cheeks and after about 3 weeks the area was so weirdly firm. Taut as all hell! I'm glad you posted this because I ought to get back to them soon - basically 5 mins in morning and at night. It cannot hurt!
Aim for neck, cheek and jawline targets.
Link Teacakes?
Same here - can we have a link?
Will have a search - such hard work you guys!
This was last yr, but hopefully i can find some of the same. They are very funny to look at so you just have to ignore that part!
ooh teacakes do share please!
Try not to read the comments, they're probably left by teens.

There are a series of these (you will find in youtube sidebar), terrible interview but great source for techniques and general intro. Try not to laugh and you'll be fine!
This was interesting - again awful interview but look at Eva Fraser:

Random link for jawline:

I can well believe this would work, I have significantly toned my bum by just clenching the muscles several times a day, in traffic, watching tv, whenever I think of it. Have been doing it for a year and the difference is amazing. Muscles are muscles so I don't see why the facial muscles wouldn't react in the same way.
X posts- thanks Teacakes
I definitely think it is effective, but so easy to just forget doing them that most of us would fall off the wagon, so to speak. There are a few books and vids out there but it isn't heavily marketed. You really have to persevere. I doubt that it can reverse more pronounced signs of aging once the process has set in, but looking at Eva I would imagine an early enough start would certainly be beneficial. And again, it can't hurt, even if it doesn't create a miracle cure!
I am 38, and not really seeing many signs yet, so perhaps a good time to start in 30's/40's. I think Eva said she began hers quite late.
People would of course prefer to sell you youth in a jar for $$$£££
And not to expect fast results either, this is why people possibly just quit them. It would be ideal to incorporate them into daily routine and then forget about watching for results. Time, I guess, would reveal!
why do I recognise the interviewer on that first youtube video?!?!
this one looks good too. The instructor certainly has beautiful skin, as does Eva Fraser who looks amazing at 80
I really wonder why these techniques get overlooked. But I think people want fast, dramatic results with everything, from aging cures to weightloss. There may be no ultimate cure for aging flesh, but these exercises make so much sense, and will obviously have some effect if stuck to over time. They can also alter the shape of your face somewhat (like regular workouts in other areas of body) but if you don't like the results you just quit doing them and your face will revert back to how it was. I think that's the thing here: you have to do them permanently. Not a bad deal, though.
I doubt the results could make a 60 yr old look like they were 21 again (obvs!) but I have a hunch they are way more effective than f*%king L'oreal, Clarins, etc.
I suppose we don't hear about them because, as you said yourself, there are no millions to be made by multi-nationals. The cosmetic companies who spend a fortune advertising in magazines expect good press in return, not articles about how you can DIY.
I found a way to fit these into my daily routine without loosing any time. I do them whilst I'm on the loo
This works www.flexawaysystem.com/
The inventor looks a bit scary but I think that is mainly due to the hairstyle!
I use it each morning in the shower and do a 100 flexes which takes about maybe 3 mins though it takes a while to get the hang of it. I think you are supposed to do a few mins twice a day but I only do it once. The more you do the more the effect.
I also do a few Carole Maggio eye exercises when I remember
www.amazon.co.uk/Ultimate-Facercise-Carole-Maggio/dp/0330519964/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1358085097&sr=1-1
They also work but the problem is making yourself take the time to do them. The flexaway thing is v quick so I do do that.
Ooh thanks Toastedteacakes ill have a good look while the dc's are at school tomorrow, I thought it was surgery or nothing.
Am intrigued by Olivia's comment.
Me too, the interviewer kind of reminded me of a female version of Agent Cooper from Twin Peaks, but I doubt she meant that!
I do oralift, which is a face exercise system. It's expensive, and needs to be done by a dentist, but it does work and it's easier to keep up than exercises. The dentist makes a cast of your mouth, creates a sort of gumshield which you wear as directed. It sort of lifts your face and creates a better supply of oxygen which in turn improves your skin and even your hair. Works for me, and I''ve seen results on much older women than me (I'm 53).
Guess it is like doing p/f excercises - little, often and pulling a strange face.
