When can I find nice quality, fitted, longer length tops/t.shirts from in a range of colours from?
I hate it when tops ride up/feel too short when I'm wearing jeans. I'm quite tall/long in the body rather than long legs LOL

FiveFlowers Fri 16-Nov-12 21:24:32

I'd love to find some too as I have a long body.

Men's t-shirts always look so much more practical and warm (nice and long - not skimpy), but just not the right shape.

Sorry, not helpful but I'll watch this thread and hope you get some good advice.

DialsMavis Fri 16-Nov-12 23:07:34

Watching this with interest, they were everywhere a couple of years ago!
Primark are longer than most, but shorter than they used to be. But you wanted good quality anyway...wink

MorrisZapp Fri 16-Nov-12 23:08:21

I want some too.

Me too, quite tall (5,9) & t-shirts always seem too short.

Sorry 'nother lurker with no practical advice.

Minimaxkids Fri 16-Nov-12 23:12:36

Lurking too.
Offers H&M to the party?

DoItRight Fri 16-Nov-12 23:14:00

I own a couple of t-shirts from H&M that are a nice length on me. I'm 5 9" but most of my height cones from having a 'long' body, so worth a try. Also had the plus point of only being about £5 for a t-shirt.

Selks Fri 16-Nov-12 23:14:03

My daughter has this problem and buys many of her t shirts at H&M.

DoItRight Fri 16-Nov-12 23:14:27

Snap minimax smile

DoItRight Fri 16-Nov-12 23:15:19

Ooh, and selks. H&m it is then!

WhatwouldGemmado Fri 16-Nov-12 23:16:23

Matalan. Nice soft feel, good colours.

TuftyFinch Fri 16-Nov-12 23:20:47

I know of the perfect t-shirt. It's by Splendid. They are spoo soft. And long. They're an American brand but ...
They are very expensive.
But they are lovely and they wash well and last. Mine is about 5 years old and is on it's last legs but it did me well. If you know someone in the USA it's worth asking them if there's a discount outlet near them.

RubberNeckerNicker Fri 16-Nov-12 23:23:48

I got some from Peacocks, but have also bought from Primark men's range - they do a skinny fit small which is actually a great shape, and long - only downside is they do that odd contrasting colour thing in the collar - but is on inside so doesn't show when you wear.

Don't expect either brand will last for ages though, but are very cheap to replace.

charlieandlola Fri 16-Nov-12 23:28:34

Next and H&M

mewkins Fri 16-Nov-12 23:29:14

esprit.co.uk - it tells you the length on the site too

Leather Fri 16-Nov-12 23:37:27

Vero Moda
Their long sleeve tops are just the best, smooth fabric, never go out of shape and lovely and long. They also guarantee that they always stock their full range of sizes. I wear a medium (size 10)
I have had several on the go since about a year ago, still look brand new.
I'm lucky that they have a store near me but they have concessions in house of Fraser too.

BikeRunSki Fri 16-Nov-12 23:41:16

Boden. Their long sleeved t shirt tops are 24" long and last forever - I have some that are 4 years old, and I wore when pg.

South (on the Very website) do specifically "long length" tops.

ICutMyFootOnOccamsRazor Fri 16-Nov-12 23:42:02

The Next basic ones are not bad but a bit too cheap 'basic' and don't last particularly well.

PerryCombover Fri 16-Nov-12 23:54:37

American apparel

Depends what you mean by long. 24" isn't long for me, I like them to be about 28" long. I used to buy them from Dorothy Perkins, they did a range of longer basic t shirts in various colours but don't seem to have had them this year. White Stuff sometimes have some, also Sainsburys.

Long tops really are hard to find!

SoupDragon Sat 17-Nov-12 11:00:59

Esprit often have tops that are longer than standard.

HazeltheMcWitch Sat 17-Nov-12 11:02:55

I find good (long) 'basic' tshirts in TopShop's TALL range, although they really only have them over the summer. So I stock up! They often have vest tops all year round. Last ok too.

Also I find that Sainsbury's ones usually come up quite long, although you'd need to check each one as they really vary.

H&M I find can be long, but are usually crap!

For something a bit/lot nicer, agree with Vero Moda and Splendid.

Uniqlo! Lovely quality, wash well, plenty of colours, and reasonable too!

I always trot this ebay seller out - I have bought several, and they wash and wear well. Plenty long enough too. I live in them during the winter.

Sainsburys long sleeved t-shirts fit well and are a good length.

Bluestocking Sat 17-Nov-12 11:45:17

The best fitting T-shirt I have ever had is a Roxy T-shirt which I got at TKMaxx. Long enough, stays pulled down, nice long sleeves with a proper long cuff, and I have had it for years and it still looks as good as new. In fact, I'm wearing it right now! I don't know if Roxy T-shirts are always this good or if I was just lucky.

carrie74 Sat 17-Nov-12 14:03:11

Baukjen extra long tee. I've now got 3 and wear them pretty much constantly as base layers. Pricey, but perfect (and I try to buy in sale or use a code: I haven't paid full price).

alemci Sat 17-Nov-12 14:17:53

thanks Ferngoose, had a look on his page. What would I do without your ebay knowledge.

brighthair Sat 17-Nov-12 18:56:43

That eBay shop looks fab! How do the sizes come up?

TheWombat Sat 17-Nov-12 19:08:12

I like baukjen extra long too - good quality and wash well, in fact I'm wearing one now! But they are expensive and like Carrie I only buy in sale or with discount.

Ferngoose that seller l

TheWombat Sat 17-Nov-12 19:09:43

Oops... blush
Meant to say - that eBay seller looks great! Thank you!

the sizes of the tops are pretty accurate, certainly not stingy - they have plenty of stretch. I'm 5ft 8 and they are plenty long on me with good arm lengths too. The thumb holes I just ignore or fold over. I have nearly one in each colour, and have just replaced a couple that got bleach on them. They wash and dry really well too, and aren't too thin at all.

brighthair Sat 17-Nov-12 20:14:53

Brilliant - I'm just under 5'11 and need long tops!

takeonboard Sat 17-Nov-12 20:45:46

thanks Fergoose - I just bought one of the tops from ebay and if i like it will get some more smile

fergoose Sat 17-Nov-12 20:57:41

Oh i hope you do like it! - her delivery is very speedy too.

BobbieSox Sat 17-Nov-12 21:09:16

I buy mine from H & M too but I like the Mama maternity ones - they're extra long as they would stretch over a bump, and very good quality material too.

takeonboard Thu 22-Nov-12 17:31:49

Its here, I love it and am ordering 3 more. Thanks for the tip fergoose

fergoose Thu 22-Nov-12 18:51:04

oh I am so glad you are pleased smile You always worry when you recommend something it may not be liked. I think I have one in every colour too.

year2mum Thu 22-Nov-12 19:55:48

DEfinetly H&M. Available in a range of colours and they wash well too. I am 5'11" and they are past my hips.

LDNmummy Thu 22-Nov-12 20:11:34

Next's tall range. They are constantly selling out though so you need good timing.

germyrabbit Thu 22-Nov-12 20:16:31

ggirl Thu 22-Nov-12 20:17:19
