I had to SHOUT as can't contain how excited I am. Just got a Shirin Guild 100% cashmere cardigan for £15 and authentic Longchamp handbag for £1.99 in charity shop.

Thought they'd be fakes but aren't. Just put a bit more money in the charity box to show appreciation. I'm made up.

I am now going to stalk the shop when ever I can! Yippeeeeee!

wow!

I went into the cancer research just down the road today and stumbled across something called a 'lipgloss charm bracelet', I mean what the actual fuck!

Cardi a bit like this but in dark grey without button detail:

Bag a bit like this but a few seasons past with longer handles to go over shoulder

I am in heaven as there is no way I could afford any of this and never thought I'd own a Longchamp bag.
Thank you kind donator!

PoppyWearer Fri 16-Nov-12 11:57:17

A Longchamp bag for £1.99? Wow, you lucky cah thing!

[not-at-all-jealous emoticon]

Although I did recently buy a (genuine) small suede Tod's bag for a tenner on eBay. I don't like it so am planning to give it to DD when she's a bit older. At that price, it doesn't matter!

Yay another charity shop fan, I just love snooping in my local one, always come out with a bargain or 2, often clothes that have never been worn and have original tags still in!

Well done on your finds folks

Trills Fri 16-Nov-12 12:19:35

I was happy to get an M&S bag for £3.99

InNeedOfBrandy Fri 16-Nov-12 12:22:28

I got a Brabantia bin brand new a couple of weeks ago for £20, looked on website and it was £90.

neuroticmumof3 Fri 16-Nov-12 12:45:46

Most of my clothes come from charity shops or ebay. I have had some amazing finds over the years. I always feel like it's a present from the world when I find something wonderful in a charity shop.

MorrisZapp Fri 16-Nov-12 18:39:12

I love charity shops! Had many a ludicrous barg.

HoneyDragon Fri 16-Nov-12 18:42:18

I got my mum a Radley bag last week in perfect condition for £20. It's still on the website at £180.00

My mum is chuffed to bits grin

quirkychick Fri 16-Nov-12 18:44:30

I love charity shops too! I am currently wearing a dolce & gabbana skirt (£4) and day birger et mikkelson cardi (£3) that are previous finds.

Well done, tweet2tweet. Love the idea of a present from the world too grin.

Kissingk1979 Fri 16-Nov-12 19:33:32

Which charity shops are you going to?

I only ever find junk, and I live in quite a posh area .....

xmasevebundle Fri 16-Nov-12 21:33:01

I went to luton once and bought a real chanel silk scarf £5.

I knew it was it because i asked my dad for my 18th a few months previous, i never got it though sad

I looked at it and held it for at least 5 mins before the lady asked if i was buying it!!!!

Rebecca54 Sat 17-Nov-12 10:47:46

I am a charity shop addict too. You never know what you might find. I have saved a fortune on shoes recently - some never worn in my size sitting on the shelf waiting for me at £3.50 a pair!!

Also had a few tops for about £3 each.

You just need to search through the well worn and less than perfect items -which is part of the fun.

UnrequitedSkink Sat 17-Nov-12 10:54:24

Found a Toast silk skirt for £4 once. It was really pretty but a size 14 so I only wore it once. Still remember the feeling of 'wow!' when I saw the label though :-)

Pinkforever Sat 17-Nov-12 12:12:30

Ours are all too savvy now about good items. Anything that is designer or a well known label is put in a special cabinet or rail and they want ££££ for them.

I did get a lovely m&co dress the other day for £4 though but that is rare-usually just stuff for the kids I find.

garlicbaguette Sat 17-Nov-12 12:22:41

YY, our local charity shops have experts who come in and whisk all the good stuff away to be ebayed. Sue Ryder's now the only one that's even worth looking in - they've got some fabulous evening dresses there atm; shame I'm not going anywhere dress-up! We do have a frock exchange and a retro specialist, which are more expensive than charity shops but always good quality.

Nostalgic for my student days, when charity shops really were mines of vintage treasure.

BirdwithinaBird Sat 17-Nov-12 12:23:19

I love a good charity bargain, well done Tweet2Tweet. There is such satisfaction and for me almost a child like wonder even at my great age for a hidden treasure. I scout around my shops in North Yorkshire, where's there's muck there's brass grin. I have got Prada suede loafers, new ones, for £8.00, they squeak a bit but I can live with that, a Chanel coat for a tenner, dozens of scarves, Pucci and Lanvin, cashmere sweaters, an L K Bennett wool dress, £5, and deepest joy a Mulberry handbag, old but so beautiful. Never ever will I shop full retail again except for undies and stockings. Far more fun, and it's all for a good cause, me and themgrin

garlicbaguette Sat 17-Nov-12 12:23:31

Oops Tweet, forgot to congratulate you grin Christmas came early, eh?!

kilmuir Sat 17-Nov-12 12:26:41

Pleased for you, but never got fuss over labels.
These things were never worth the ridiculous prices people pay for the added label.

buttercrumble Sat 17-Nov-12 12:30:44

I bought an amazing droopy and browns dress the other week from local hospice shop for 8 quid....

wannabegood Mon 19-Nov-12 17:17:21

Today I got a lovely Maxmara pura seta (pure silk) grey short cardigan for £4.50 immaculate!
How much would that be in the shops I wonder!

garlicbaguette Tue 20-Nov-12 00:01:22

Wannabe - about £150 new smile

wannabegood Tue 20-Nov-12 08:01:03

Thanks garlic even more chuffed now!!!

Tweet2tweet Tue 20-Nov-12 08:28:45

Wow everyone is doing really well- I just found out that quite a lot of the Charity shops are doing a Christmas bonanza towards the end of Nov. They have saved all the good stuff over the year and plan to sell it off. The ones I know are doing this are: Samaritans, Barnados and Marie Curie are having a special evening where they are selling evening wear that they have kept. Most of this is happening in the evening 5-7pm.
I am so excited, am taking the day off work (so desperate!!) However I want to bag a few bargains if possible.
What a lovely way to say it neuroticmumof3, present from the world. Very poetic smile

wannabegood Fri 23-Nov-12 11:47:58

Went again yesterday and got a brand new zara fitted white shirt, a monsoon black shift dress and a black karen millen cardigan for the grand total of £12.50!!

NickECave Fri 23-Nov-12 14:17:35

Just got a lovely fitted velvet jacket from Kew for £18 in charity shop. Just looked on their website and can't see any jackets for under £100. It's in my best colour as well, olive green. Really happy!
