Where do you buy your everyday pants?

(42 Posts)

My pants/ knicker drawer is looking rather empty after chucking anything that was too big/ old/ saggy/ grim. blush

Where's best for buying simple, cotton, everyday pants?
I used to do M&S but the last set were rubbish- poor quality, thin and not-very-elastic elastic! hmm

Thanks! smile

I only buy everday pants. M&S or Primark.

WinklyFriedChicken Sun 30-Sep-12 13:18:54

I only buy nice pants! Next or la senza usually.

timetopost Sun 30-Sep-12 13:26:38

I recently got some from John Lewis, much better quality and fit than the ones I usually get from m&s

JollyToddler Sun 30-Sep-12 13:29:15

Sainsbury's ones are lovely. Nice and soft. Longer lasting than primark too.

mumtocuddlebundle Sun 30-Sep-12 13:33:24

Gap pants are fab. M&s are terrible these days.

MorrisZapp Sun 30-Sep-12 13:35:16

I'm currently loving some I got in Asda, I found if I bought the ones 'with lycra' they fit really well and are v comfy.

The downside is having to buy size 20. Yes, size 20. I'm a 14 in everything else.

Debenhams pants for me and they last ages

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea Sun 30-Sep-12 13:39:46

Debenhams no vpl

Lottapianos Sun 30-Sep-12 13:41:21

I like M&S, just their bog standard multipack jobs

chipsandpeas Sun 30-Sep-12 13:42:05

primark - their short like pants are great kinda hold you in a bit and last for ages you can also get similar briefs high and low legged
think they were about 4 pairs for a few quid

susiedaisy Sun 30-Sep-12 13:42:36

M&S

WinklyFriedChicken Sun 30-Sep-12 13:43:48

When I was a teenager with a tiny bum my Primark pants were size 16-18 , I was mortified.

The eternal quest for decent pants.

Recently I got some in H&M, 95% cotton, 5% elastane, sort of a shorts shape, so no vpl, not too old lady looking (no offence intended) and comfy! Buy at least one size up. Probably 2. They will be a bit bit big the first time you wear, but they shrink in the first wash. I bought 14, they were fine, but since washing a bit snug. And whatever you do, don't buy the Divided label there, they are for teeny-pert-bottomed 16 year olds.

dearprudence Sun 30-Sep-12 13:45:51

M&S.

teta Sun 30-Sep-12 13:47:36

I bought a multipack of lace trimmed Brazilians from Sainsbury and they were as good as M&S.Ditto, the Matalan ones that are 3 for 6 pounds at the moment.

sausagesandwich34 Sun 30-Sep-12 13:49:23

I get them from Asda

found the high legs/boxers the sizing is bang on

minis are are as described -tiny!

kaumana Sun 30-Sep-12 14:09:28

Went undie shopping yesterday and bought Brazillian no vpl from M&S, mix and match 3 for £10. Very happy with them.

Meglet England Sun 30-Sep-12 14:13:49

Primark.

EdMcDunnough Sun 30-Sep-12 15:28:58

I saw some nice cheapy ones in BHS the other day but put them back as I know they won't fit.

I wore that sort for years before finding Sloggis. I only get sloggis now. Seriously.

But I never get them unless they're in a very drastic sale!! There's some on Brand Alley at the moment.

EdMcDunnough Sun 30-Sep-12 15:29:55

btw I think I just have an odd shaped arse.

I've got about 16 pairs of Sloggis on order blush

They do last ages

and always buy in a size or two bigger than normal, it allows for shrinking and also they come up tiny.

daisydoodoo Sun 30-Sep-12 16:10:52

Best ones have been m&s lace trimmed ones on the 3 for £10 range. I buy one size bigger as I like them quite high on my stomach.
I brought some more expensive per una ones at £7.50 a pair and they are terrible and fall down all day.

MrsJohnDeere Sun 30-Sep-12 16:12:23

John Lewis

Have given up on M&s now. Nothing lasts like it should do.

Finbert Sun 30-Sep-12 16:12:56

Sainsbury's

Labootin Sun 30-Sep-12 16:13:23

Victoria secret

MousyMouse Sun 30-Sep-12 16:26:21

esprit, cheaper than sloggi and very comfy.

rabbitonthemoon Sun 30-Sep-12 16:39:04

Gap pants last forever, fit really well and are comfy (my 35 years old parameters - how things have changed). Calvin Klein at outlet stores are also great at lasting forever (the cottony ones). I've also had a few pairs from Primark that have been surprisingly nice and long lasting but I have had to hunt carefully. H and M can be ok too.

rabbitonthemoon Sun 30-Sep-12 16:39:36

But I second m and s are just not what they were. They've gone flimsier and not as fitting.

Right as sainsburys will be the closest I get to a shop this week I'll have a squiz there. I did have some from there a while back but 2 pregnancies and a LOT of wear knackered them! blush

GobblersKnob Sun 30-Sep-12 17:08:17

Gap, M&S are just shite now, for everything, shitesters.

carrie74 Sun 30-Sep-12 17:15:44

Yes, used to buy from M&S, but last time I bought, they were shocking. Quite frankly, if I want Primark quality (and pricing), I'll go to Primark.

Gap have been excellent since (been about 4-5 years now). Victoria's Secret good too, but less available.

BirdyArms Sun 30-Sep-12 17:16:54

I have John Lewis multipack ones which have lasted really well, much better than M&S. Just bought some Victoria's Secret which are nice - can mix and match from lots of colours and styles.

CeeceeBloomingdale Sun 30-Sep-12 19:07:36

It used to be M&S but now I find Debenhams are better quality.

HappyAsEyeAm Sun 30-Sep-12 20:28:00

M&S brazilian all the way for me. Usually 3 for £10 too.

taxgirlessex Wed 03-Oct-12 23:50:37

Asda high-legs every time. Warm and comfy

floweryblue Thu 04-Oct-12 00:21:51

Sloggi pants always work well, they used to do bras for the smaller chested of us...

Floralnomad Thu 04-Oct-12 00:28:30

Sloggi here as well , and I don't find that they come up small, last for ages and really comfortable.

MarysBeard Thu 04-Oct-12 04:05:39

Sainsbury's also. Also get bras from there - £6, fit really well.

PerryCombover Thu 04-Oct-12 07:30:50

Magic and sparkle
Brazilians or midis depending

Jaeme Thu 04-Oct-12 15:03:51

Victoria's Secret cotton lingerie for everyday stuff.

minipie Thu 04-Oct-12 15:24:53

Gap all the way. Their low rise bikinis are comfy and stay put without having harsh elastic. And they bring out new colours/patterns all the time.

Most other knickers seem to ride up (could just be my ample behind though!)

lovechoc Thu 04-Oct-12 15:36:11

Just bought mine out of M&S yesterday. Have been needing new pants for ages! Decided to get on and buy them when I was running a few other errands in the town.
