Day 100

So what have you done and what are you planning to do?

I've started on the water. I had planned to weigh myself but forgot (great start) in addition to everything else on my list I'm going to paint my nails later.

KateByChristmas Sat 15-Sep-12 09:03:47

Ha nothing yet really - just popping into say hi on the new thread.

StinkyPig Sat 15-Sep-12 09:05:32

I'm plannIng my outfits in advance so I don't look a sack of spuds each day.
Drinking more water.
Running 5k 3 times a week (really good app if you're interested called 10k runner. It's a black 10k in a yellow square and gets you from couch potato to 10k runner in 14 weeks) it's really brilliant.
Cleansing and moisturising
Wearing make-up daily
Maintaining hair cut/colour every 6-8 weeks.
Using rosehip oil at night.
Using whitening toothpaste
Just had my gel nails put back on (I love them)
No mid-week alcohol
Start body-brushing
Cut down caffeine and soft drinks

addictedisback Sat 15-Sep-12 09:08:57

marking my place, I've taken my vitimins (I asked on the previous thread, but will ask agai, what vitimins are people taking?) started on my 2ltrs and used my facial scrub. I have also put oil in my hair but am yet to dry it, the baby has just gone down for a nap and I darent put the BBH on incase I wake her!

later I will be painting my nails, clensing and toning and sorthing out a check list (I ddnt have time to make one before I went on holiday sad)

I have a very busy day today tho as I'm trying to update my blogs (all 3 of them!) and take new photos for the estate agent.

right off to my busy busy day

AGeeksWife Sat 15-Sep-12 09:18:13

I did not have a healthy breakfast (peanut butter on toast with 2 Ferrero Rochers, oops) but it's food in my tummy to start the day. I also forgot my ACV this morning. So not really got going so far! Will need to get my bum in gear otherwise a morning will turn into a day will turn into a week etc

snowballinashoebox Sat 15-Sep-12 09:22:45

Good thread title helga
I am sitting here with my lemon and water and keep looking at my nails which I buffed with a nail glosser, they look like they have polish on, mega impressed.

addicted my vits are centrum advance A-zinc. 3 for 2 at boots.

Paintyourbox Sat 15-Sep-12 09:33:57

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Paintyourbox Sat 15-Sep-12 09:36:47

So far I have done nothing and I am trying to do everythIng!

DP was 30 yesterday and I had to do party food for 14 last night! Absolutely shattered today!

So far have changed 3 horrible nappies (thanks teething!), fed baby, put eczema cream on baby and struggled to dress greasy baby!!

Step 1- healthy breakfast washed down with water!

Misssss Sat 15-Sep-12 09:39:55

I've started drinking the water, two pint down already! Forgot to do the lemon/green tea but will have some throughout the day.

Got a last minute nanny booking for this weekend so I'm not at home but have sorted low carb meals for lunch and dinner. Had a healthy breakfast of scrambled eggs.

Child is still asleep so will go off and do a mini facial on myself and take the time to apply makeup properly before I go out. May also tackle my hooves with the s&g file.

renaldo Sat 15-Sep-12 09:44:02

Lying in the bath having body brushed first - what u might call a soft start. Had a plunge in boots yesterday - bet this 100 day challenge is helping their profits!

renaldo Sat 15-Sep-12 09:44:55

Splurge I meant! Boody iPad

WannaSplitAPineapple Sat 15-Sep-12 09:55:11

Glad to see everyone's making a start.

I didn't manage the healthy breakfast, but in my defense I found you can now get apple poptarts so I had to try them. I've defuzzed my legs and once I get off here I will dry my hair, put make up on and start on my water consumption. Well providing baby stays asleep. Then tonight I will do my nails, oh that means I have to treat myself to a new nail polish today not that I don't already own 100's

KateByChristmas Sat 15-Sep-12 10:12:15

Just showed DH the list he said:
What does exfoliate everything mean hmm I replied not your fanjo or your eyeballs.

He also told me the regular part of the regular hair removal did not mean bi weekly shock

HelgatheHairy Sat 15-Sep-12 10:18:37

geekswife thanks for mentioning the acv, I'd almost forgotten it..(love the name by the way, I'm one as well)

Paintyourbox Sat 15-Sep-12 10:32:22

Addicted I am taking pregnacare as its s complete vitamin which I know is safe when breast feeding. Well woman is a similar supplement for non pg/bfing.

I am also taking omega 3, 6 and 9 for heart health, hair and skin.

BookFairy Sat 15-Sep-12 11:57:08

Hi everyone smile

I'm a whole new me already (slight exaggeration maybe!):
I have painted nails
Took my Omega 3 Fish Oil (yuck) this morning
Have drunk 2 pints of water and 1 peppermint tea
Had porridge for breakfast
Have plans to buy flexitol today and give myself a pedicure later
Will not be buying chocolate in the pound shop.

I fear I'm on the edge of a grotty cold that is doing the rounds so I'll also be buying vitamins at boots today. Perhaps Well Woman?

Exercise is my downfall so that's the big one to beat. Any suggestions? I do yoga but find The Gym really intimidating blush and feel v exposed going for a swim, even though I do like swimming. I know no one is really looking at me but it feels like they are!

onemoreforgoodmeasure Sat 15-Sep-12 12:10:11

What's the 100 day challenge?

HelgatheHairy Sat 15-Sep-12 12:15:51

onemore from today there are 100 days to Christmas Eve, some of us have decided to start on a health/beauty routine so as to feel a bit more groomed by the time it comes around. We started a prep thread last week here and today's Day 100 (or day 1 depending on how you look at it.

MsKayGee Sat 15-Sep-12 12:38:12

Checking in.

Started properly a couple of days ago. I had an early night last night, 10pm and was up at sparrows fart this morning. I've had my lemon hot water, healthy breakfast, moisturised all over, taken my vitamin and need to start on drinking plenty of water and will snack on fruit when I'm hungry.

I have gel nails anyway, feet are moisturised and toenails painted, need to shave my legs tomorrow (I can get away with every 3 or 4 days, I'm not very hairy grin). My hair looks fab and swishy, though I think that's thanks to my new hair dryer and I did body combat at the gym yesterday so resting today.

Waiting for my crest whitening strips to arrive in the post and I'm a bit scared of the body brush, will definitely do it tomorrow. Have had a few days off from exfoliating as we've not long come back from holiday and I don't want to scrub my tan off yet!

Tonight will be a challenge for me - a Saturday night without a whole bottle of wine - eeek!!!

onemoreforgoodmeasure Sat 15-Sep-12 12:57:36

Ooh, interesting, I do 13 of the 20 already, although only a week or two back did I start with the anti-aging serum, taking vitamins and eating breakfast which is porridge, with banana and cinnamon - find the banana makes it sweet enugh to not need honey or sugar. I cannot stand excercies so will count myself out but will have a look at the other things and might start those too!

theowlworrier Sat 15-Sep-12 13:40:48

Ok, i know the wholepoint is that it is 100 days to christmas, but anyone mind if I start mibday and join the thread. I go back to work after maternity leave in 3 weeks, so am hoping to look a little more human by then. Will be popping out todayto get all the stuff I need!

theowlworrier Sat 15-Sep-12 13:41:50

Start Monday that should read. Fat fingers and a touch screen never a good combo...

WhyIRayLiotta Sat 15-Sep-12 13:50:12

Checking in smile

So far I have had green tea
Went for a 5k walk (would've run but I had the buggy and it's in a forest so bumpy!)
I also body brushed before shower and exfoliated in shower.
All over moisturised.
Used foot buffer and heel balm.
Oooh and did hair oil (used sweet almond) and let my (long wavy) hair dry naturally too busy to blow dry and it is frizz free and soft grin

- all of the above with DD in her walker watching like a hawk!

My only slip up was the healthy breakfast blush I had toast and peanut butter... But forgot I was supposed to try and cut down on bread!

I also took some 'before' pictures last night. Me in my undies shock I also took measurements. I really wanna lose my baby belly and eeeek they are a good motivator sad

maristella Sat 15-Sep-12 14:13:00

Also checking in smile

I do a lot of the list, but need to improve on the following, so here is my list:

2 early nights (before 10pm) each week
More fruit and veg
More exercise, daily stomp on lunchbreak and weekend walks
Less wine! 1 bottle per weekend, unless I'm going out wink
5 mins on the stepper every weekday morning <fetches duster>
Daily omega oil

sillymillyb Sat 15-Sep-12 14:38:36

Checking in.... to report I've made a right royal mess of the first day!

I started a few days ago but am babysitting my mums foster kids for the weekend, along with my own 6mo who has given up on sleep.... so I am up, showered and moiseterised with swishy morroccony oiled hair....

But thats it!! unless pringles and diet coke at 5am count as a healthy breakfast??

Addicted Im taking pregnacare too, I had some left over from breastfeeding and it really made a difference to my hair and nails. Not sure what I will go onto when the box is finished though.

Running around after the kids prob counts as exercise though - Im knackered!

HelgatheHairy Sat 15-Sep-12 14:42:24

owl start whenever you want. The 100 day thing is more so that there's a finishing line in sight than a starting line.

HelgatheHairy Sat 15-Sep-12 14:50:40

Checking back in. I've body brushed, exfoliated, hair removed, hair oiled, let hair dry naturally, walked puppy twice, am on glass 4 ( or 5 have lost count slightly) of water. However, breakfast 1 was peanut butter on 1 slice of toast, breakfast 2 was an omelette with 3 rashers and more toast. Dinner is burgers and there will be wine while watching strictly, dr who and the x factor.

It will take a while before we're remembering everything and fitting it in naturally so don't be too hard on yourself on day 1

addictedisback Sat 15-Sep-12 15:17:49

I've been to boots and bought some more products! soap and glory facial exfoliator (my hand made sugar scrub left my face feeling oily and I dont like it!) and garnier youthful radiance day cream and caffene eye roll on. I thought I'd just bite the bullett and get a anti wrincle cream, although this looks like a more gentil one.

I've just realised I actually havent drank anything today! I forgot to get my 2ltr bottle of water out when I said I would, so I failed on that one. Hoping to do my nails this evening when the girls have gone to bed.

Just checking in as have just seen the old thread.

Will do everything apart from: anti aging cream as I am only 21 so will use moisturiser instead, fizzy drinks as I have chronic fatigue and need some caffeine but will limit these to no more than 2 cans a day but as little as possible and any extreme exercise like the shred as my Physio has forbidden it. sad But I will be doing gym ball and contortion exercises. smile

I am about to get the epilator out, wish me luck!

<Just a heads up in case anyone hears me screaming...>

Hallo , just found you and think this is what I need .

Already drink lots of tap water
Don't drink fizzy drinks
Already moisturise , hair removal and anti ageing

The rest , however is a challenge .

But I know I need to cut down on the vino and do some excercise .
So I'm planning on starting tomorrow .

Could someone explain about the hair oil please ?

BookFairy Sat 15-Sep-12 17:22:03

Ouch Schrodinger ! What sort of exercises do you do with a gym ball? I hate aerobics classes and need variation smile

I avoided cake and had a reasonably healthy sandwich for lunch. I bought The Shred so feel like I'm part way there grin

Doilook hair oil is great for taming curls, frizz etc smile

Thanks BookFairy . I have fine , straight hair , so probably won't use that , I will just remember to book a haircut , before it's too late !
Which is what I tend to do , to save a bit of money, always regret it and walk around with a too long fringe . Never a good look .

Just checking in. Glad to see everyone else is making a good start.

I am weighed and primped and tarted-up so far today. I haven't Shreded as I have been out all day but am planning to throw myself into it Monday.

I haven't started on the water either as I have been to somewhere that doesn't have good loo facilities confused

But I am nearly there with my 5-a-day and no chocolate even though I was offered some chocolate with rasberry bits . I mean, how strong am I?

My leg is burning... Going to go old fashioned and blitz with a razor. grin

Book Ones my physio has shown me, they're all core strength ones. smile Very boring and slow but you can seriously feel the burn.

BookFairy Sat 15-Sep-12 18:15:52

Wise move Schrodinger I used an epilator while at uni and oh my days it was so painful and sounded like a lawn mover! Oooh core strength. They talked about this in Pilates (I only went once as I couldn't bear lying on my side for an hour).

Sounds like everyone is going full steam ahead. I'm afraid to weigh and measure myself so I'm mighty impressed with those who have.

Laura you are the strongest of strong! Talk to me about Shredding. I bought it today (yay me!) but haven't unwrapped the plastic yet. I've suddenly gotten the fear!

The exercises are really easy, one is lying on a bed with the gymball, sitting your legs on it and lifting your bum.

Epilator is hell and only removed the visible hairs so it's not smooth. sad

Shred is great, love it but not allowed to do it.

OrangeKat Sat 15-Sep-12 18:21:54

Ooh! Can I join? I am three months into a life changing plan for health reasons and I'm starting to flag a bit (the wine is SHOUTING at me from the cupboard under the stairs!). I've been shredding and low carbing but I've had a week off as I started work again this week.
I am also professionally ungroomed so maybe I could be a board project?

Paintyourbox Sat 15-Sep-12 18:34:55

Hi everyone!

Just checking in, it's been a pretty good day! Nails done, body brushed, exfoliated, put on a face mask, moisturised everything, had a healthy breakfast and only 1 cup of tea so far!

Not so good is my lack of water consumption- only 3 glasses so far and the fact I forgot I was supposed to be giving up crisps and so guzzled some Doritos!

Have decided to start a blog about princessing, if anyone is interested PM me for address!

IShallCallYouSquishy Sat 15-Sep-12 19:20:18

Hmm, my mums birthday was not a good day to start! Lunch out and choccie cake!

Done most of the beauty things though
Hair oil
Body brushing
Toe and finger nail painted
Eye cream
Anti ageing face cream

Also done walk with pram, vitamin and water/squash

BookFairy Sat 15-Sep-12 19:34:08

Welcome OrangeKat There are loads of helpful hints here smile

HelgatheHairy Sat 15-Sep-12 19:44:23

orange jump on board. We're a fairly friendly lot!

I've done my nails a lovely reddy wine colour which matches the red wine currently in my glass! Oops

paint I forgot I was supposed to be giving up chocolate! So 4 squares do Aero later...

gnomealone Sat 15-Sep-12 20:42:16

I did some stuff but not as much as I would have liked. Took vits, flaxseed oil for omegas, a little bit of water and used face cream and hand cream twice plus heelbalm stuff. Actually that isn't too bad a start really! Am about to watch the shred to see what I am letting myself in for tomorrow and tell myself that counts as exercise

Paintyourbox Sat 15-Sep-12 20:48:51

Helga Oooh I love aero! I will happily polish off anything that's left to help you with your challenge. grin

Is the shred really really bad...? Tell me the truth and I can save my money on amazon

addictedisback Sat 15-Sep-12 21:17:16

Nails painted, de fussing will take place tomorrow!
Oooooo painted I'm on a tablet with drying nails, please pm me the address smile
Failed with the water, but tomorrow is a new day

HelgatheHairy Sat 15-Sep-12 21:20:05

paint I did the shred and couldn't walk properly for 3 days after. Did it again and it wasn't so bad but never did it after that second time!

Misssss Sat 15-Sep-12 22:53:48

Checking in again! I love this thread, thank you so much, I know its early days but I feel like me again. I guess that the princessing won't have much of an effect yet but a bloke actually attempted to chat me up in Sainsburys this afternoon. Its been ages since that happened. Was slightly chuffed even though I didn't fancy him. I guess I'm just feeling a lot more confident and therefore I look happier.

Can I ask about nails please? What are you using. Popped into B&M this evening and bought various Sally Hansen products. I have flaky weak nails that seem peel all the time. Any miracle cures?

Done fairly well in the list today, eating could have been better and I haven't done the shred but went for a two hour walk along the beach this evening so hopefully the damage won't be too bad. Also bought some new clothes in a size down as an incentive.

Paint The shred is hard work but the results are very rapid. I now need to do it for more than two days in a row to see the results!

oopsiforgot Sat 15-Sep-12 23:10:18

Well I feel like a new woman already! Kind of stated last night buy brushing my teeth for the full timed 2 mins on the electric toothbrush thingy, followed by tooth whitening pen, cleansing and moisturising face, eye cream AND lash growing serum, filed my nails and applied hand cream. Continued well this morning with porridge and fruit for breakfast. Gone down hill from there with no lunch, no water and cocktails and burger for tea. Areas to work on are:
some serious hair removal I'mlikeayetti
Drinking water
Get some vitamins
I'm sure this has been covered before but how often and when should one body brush?

Meggles76 Sun 16-Sep-12 00:22:08

Hello! Checking in on new thread.
Did 5k this morning. Am doing RFL 5k next weekend and then 10k race at beginning of October.
Had big wardrobe clearout. Listed some stuff on ebay and have made a list of bits n bobs I need for Autumn
Have removed all make up and applied face cream.
Will shower after run in morning and then plan to sort nails.
Needs to focus on diet and water intake.

Paintyourbox Sun 16-Sep-12 09:11:59

Misssss I have used pretty much the same nail products for years. Currently it's Rimmel 5 in 1 nail care which acts as a base coat, top coat and treatment, a glass nail file (doesn't drag as much as an emery board and very hard wearing) and various colours of polish (Nails Inc, Barry M or Rimmel- I must say I find Rimmel most hard wearing!)

I have pretty good hands really, people often compliment me on them. I put it down to always wearing rubber gloves when cleaning and to having hand cream by each sink in the house- acts as a mental reminder to use it!

KateByChristmas Sun 16-Sep-12 09:22:21

Just had the water and lemon was a bit hmm but actually liked it and I feel healthy doing it.

Vits taken

Water intake started

Nails aren't a problem for me on a daily basis as I get shellac - highly recommend it, the lady I go to charges £10 for a file and polish (I soak them myself) and it only needs doing twice a month.

MsKayGee Sun 16-Sep-12 09:31:44

Morning all. Up bright and early after another very early night - 10pm on a Saturday, it's unheard of for me.

I'm determined to make a good go of this today. I've had my lemon water and vitamin, just about to have breakfast (I can't eat until a couple of hours after I've woken up) and more water, then going to the gym for a swim/sauna/steam room.

I've made a big bowl of fruit salad so I can grab a couple of spoonfuls when I'm peckish. I'll be brushing, bathing, exfoliating, shaving and moisturising tonight.

Shred is great, it gave me the kick start I needed about 6 months ago and I promised myself if I did it regularly for 3 months I'd treat myself to gym membership, which I did. The first week is hard going but after that it's fine and you see the results quickly. And it's only a fiver on amazon or so if you hate it you haven't broken the bank.

I need to get back into the groove.
Started well at the beginning of the week, body brushing before my shower, using my Clarisonic etc.
But as the week went on and I got more tired from a busy week at work, I found myself pressing the snooze button more often and then only having time to do the bare minimum.
And my Shred DVD is still in itsd wrapper!

foad Sun 16-Sep-12 09:40:37

Okay, you've convinced me to buy The Shred confused. I hope I survive it!

Body brushed, showered, hair oiled this morning. Have had two glasses of water and healthy breakfast (fat free yoghurt with oatbran). Also did this yesterday with the addition of face mask (thought my face might fall off if I scrubbed!).

Addicted I am old enought to be your mother grin so had better invest in some heavy duty anti-ageing. Am trying REN, but not convinced so far.

Does anyone else think that L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil smells disgusting?

maristella Sun 16-Sep-12 09:46:23

Good morning! It must be 100 days until Xmas now?? Sorry.....

Yesterday went well! I walked 8 miles, I can hardly move today! Also had very little wine and over 8 hours of sleep. Had yucky omega oil last night too.

I'm bringing the scales into my room and I'm going to keep track of my weight.

Right! I need to sort myself out so I'm joining this thread. I already started with the regular hair appointments but don't know how I'm going to keep it up with Christmas to pay for.

HelgatheHairy Sun 16-Sep-12 13:34:05

Oops, very very late check in today sorry

Can I ask that the first poster on the thread daily might include the countdown day so for example today is
Day 99
Having a bad day beauty wise so far so going to have a bath later and do all the brushing and exfoliating and stuff then. BUT I went to get the papers this morning and I put on a little make up and didn't look as scruffy as usual and felt a bit more together.

HelgatheHairy Sun 16-Sep-12 13:36:33

Mother this thread isn't all about spending lots of money. Most people have odds and ends of moisturiser and things around that you can concentrate on using up. There are also cheap home made scrubs and things you can make cheaply (not my area of expertise I'll admit)

It's the hair appointments that cost all the money. I already make my own bodtscrubs etc. Might try the local hairdressing college.

addictedisback Sun 16-Sep-12 14:46:38

hairdressing college would be good, but I dont have the time or teh money to go regularly to the hairdresser (all the products I have bought so far have been with my boots points!)

So I've been using a decent shampoo, conditioner and now hair oil. I really recommend it, just taking 30 minutes extra a day on my hair has improved the conditioin greatly. Although obviously if you have your hair coloured then you may need more than that.

That's the trouble. I've just gone blonder. My own dark blonde hair made me look like death but the upkeep is going to cost a fortune.

My hairdresser suggested sleeping with baby oil in your hair. confused No idea if it works, have also heard wonderful things about rinsing your hair in coke. smile

OrangeKat Sun 16-Sep-12 16:05:15

So today......
Brought new shampoo/conditioner with Argan oil to combat the frizz.
Body brushed before shower.
4k run.
Full body moisturiser.
Looked at nail stuff and ran away (I have crap nails)

Tip of the day from me: Low potassium levels cause flud retention. Never mind an apple a day, a banana a day has made me wee like a horse and lose an inch from my waist!

OrangeKat Sun 16-Sep-12 16:06:16

I have also unearthed the huile divine from Caudalie that my friend bought me for christmas last year. I WILL banish the birds nest of frizz on top of my head!

maristella Sun 16-Sep-12 16:06:40

Sleeping with avocado oil in your hair is amazing olive oil is great too but it can strip your hair of hair dye so that's no longer an option for me!

I'm doing this challenge on the (very) cheap grin

OrangeKat Sun 16-Sep-12 16:12:56

Ooh! I have a water drinking tip too! In the evening drink Pukka tea's Vanilla Chai, it's larvley tasting and caffeine free. It's the nicest herbal tea I've ever drunk.
Disclaimer: I don't work for them.
PS, Please don't buy it all from my local shops, I'll cry.

Lavenderhoney Sun 16-Sep-12 16:27:10

Shredding for 3 dayssmile ds watched me for a bit and pointed out helpfully that i ate too much cake and had a really big bottom. Thanks ds. its really hard as dcs keeping me awake at night so am very tired. Did the body lotion thing every day too. Did have a look for hair oil- do you put it on wet or dry hair? Advice please, have no idea!! Also did waxing plus proper face cleaningsmile might put a bit of sudo cream on the spots that have broken out with all the water I am drinking- read on the Internet somewhere it's v good for spots/blemishes....

BookFairy Sun 16-Sep-12 16:51:15

I went for a bracing (and rainy) walk by the sea earlier and just Shredded for the first time. Whoa. I definitely can't Shred everyday!

Lavender I think you could put hair oil on wet hair after washing, leave to dry and wash out the following morning. Several posters on here have recommended avacado oil smile

WopBopALooBop Sun 16-Sep-12 16:58:25

shock I want to do this!! Just what I need I think. For me it will be a 98 day challenge as I came to this late and today has been a write off diet-wise, but to me The 98-Day-Challenge sounds just as snappy grin

How exciting!! Well done everyone so far!!

maristella Sun 16-Sep-12 17:47:58

You can still do the 100 day challenge WopBop and you'll be a Boxing Day princess grin

I use olive or avocado oil to cleanse and a tiny amount to moisturise, then top up with moisturiser, it's such a booster as my skin is really dry.

No exercise for me today, as I feel sooooo stiff after walking 8 miles last night. The stepper is out ready for the morning though smile

sillymillyb Sun 16-Sep-12 18:08:41

I've had another rubbish day (im sensing a theme to my reports!)

All that has kept me awake today is diet coke and chocolate... Though I'm making the biggest vat of veg soup now so that should tick off one of my to do's!

My mum is back tomorrow and I will gladly hand over her foster kids back to her. Think I may just look at tomorrow as start of my 100 days and block out this weekend!

Everyone else seems to have done brilliantly though smile

HelgatheHairy Sun 16-Sep-12 18:16:06

I remembered my vitamins. However I washed them down with Coke Zero. Not good

Paintyourbox Sun 16-Sep-12 18:36:04

Helga have you resisted the Aero today?!

Great day here so far, still struggling with the water though but there's still time yet.

Updated the blog and went for a 4 mile walk with the buggy.

Anyone else noticing that this princessing takes up serious time?!

This looks fantastic. I would like to join in if that's okay? I just need to tweak slightly to suit me!

Not sure about the nail care though, I climb every week and have to cut them really short for it!

Or I'll do a NYE 100 day stint if anybody else has found this late grin

greensmoothiegoddess Sun 16-Sep-12 19:10:10

Folks - try to avoid fizzy water. Apparently it leaches calcium from your bones and is not good for teeth.

Fish oil tip - H&B sell a tasty fish oil which is lemon and lime flavoured. I have a little espresso sized cup of orange juice and my lemon/lime fish oil. Almost tasty!

I bought the new elvive hair oil for Dds hair but will start using it myself. I had acrylic nails done 2 weeks ago but they're looking a bit tatty so must remember to get them filled on Tuesday. Was loathe to get them but just don't have time in morning to paint my nails and they are so stained from constant nail polish use that I can't go au natural.

IShallCallYouSquishy Sun 16-Sep-12 19:33:14

I've had an ok day today. Did all the beauty stuff this morning but some of the other bits... Not so good! No exercise today and have eaten some chocolate.
Monday morning though and I will be giving it 100%, especially as I'll be weighing in with my fitness conscious friend on Friday, and don't want to feel like a wobbly blob. Can I use the "I've just had a baby" excuse nearly 4 months after?!

HelgatheHairy Sun 16-Sep-12 19:46:42

paint I HAVE stayed away from the Aero today! So that's a positive!

HelgatheHairy Sun 16-Sep-12 19:49:21

* pixie* personally I think short nails look great. I'm not sure HOW short but I think dark colours look great on short nails. And if you want you can still look after your cuticles and use nail buffers and so on.

HelgatheHairy Sun 16-Sep-12 19:51:59

Had an accident with one of my nails so took the colour off that one nail and redid it in gold. So 9 deep red nails and one index fingernail in gold. Might recreate at Christmas but do all fingernails red and thumbs gold.

CheekyVimto Sun 16-Sep-12 20:12:40

Ok so i may be day late and a bit fuzzy from a day in the beer garden but i'm up for this as well.

All these things are forever on my to do list - but I will give it a proper crack this time. Starting tomorrow of course smile

Every day shredding is a bit daunting and undoable imo - i may try for 3 times a week. Reckon that will work!?

Anyhew - here goes! <high fives all in a shit and yanky manner>

OrangeKat Sun 16-Sep-12 20:43:17

I shred three times a week and I'm really seeing the difference. I have a waist! I haven't had one of those since I got pregnant 3 years ago, so that's nice. I also have muscles in my legs- who knew?

I've had a fair few glasses of water ,
Forgot the lemon and water this morning until I was half way down the first coffee of the day .
Only had a couple of glasses of wine ( well I think you have to with a roast dinner )
Havent had much fruit , lots of veg though .
Nice blustery seaside walk .
On my to do / buy list for tomorrow
Emery boards and nail buffer
Cuticle cream
Nice apples
Multi vitamin tabs or fish oils ? I'm quite old . Not sure what to go for ?
DH is going to be 50 in December , I want to lose about 20 lb by then ( no pressure ! )
Hoping for an early night ( watch Downton Abbey in bed whilst DH watches Dragons Den ! )

Anyone got any tips for getting rid of nasty yellow staining caused by nail varnish. Would like to get rid of my acrylics but my own nails are badly stained.

dontstopbelieving Sun 16-Sep-12 21:20:28

Can I join? Been away for weekend and only just seen the thread.
Am definitely in need of this thread and really like the idea of having deadline. I have a spare copy of shred am happy to give to someone if you PM me. Most of I think I am looking forward to the early nights!

Paintyourbox Sun 16-Sep-12 21:44:24

Yay- nearly done! Just have to drink 3 more glasses of water and I have managed my list today. It's been really tough though, especially as I need to do a food shop and most of the fruit and veg left in the fridge look a bit sad.

Mother I have heard that if you take the polish off and rub a wedge of lemon over your nails this will tackle the yellow staining- supposedly because the lemon is mildly acidic it will lift the staining off.

HelgatheHairy Sun 16-Sep-12 21:58:10

mother I know Barbara daly for Tesco does a nail varnish for yellow stained nails. Its clear and is colour correcting.

Ooh why have I not spotted that before? Might just get my nails taken off on Tuesday instead of filled and give it a go.

Misssss Sun 16-Sep-12 22:03:17

Princessing is going well today. Not a single flour/sugar based food has passed my lips. Managed to have lots of veg, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, courgette. Eaten really well, drank loads of water, I've exfoliated and removed every stray hair from my entire body. I'm very lazy and just used a tube of nair and rinsed it off in the shower. I have a mild fear of razors and there is No Way I'm going to bare my fat behind to a beautician for a wax. Currently sat here trying not to dribble as I have my teeth whitening stuff in with the UV light.

I now need to psyche myself up to do the shred before bed.

Welcome don'tstopbelieving Thank you paint for the nail tips. I will go and get some of that Rimmel stuff tomorrow evening. I do have seche vite but I think it makes my nails peel more.

Thanks for your suggestion also paintyourbox. I think that would be quoted drying. My nails tend to peel a lot. I don't know if that would make them worse.

bessie26 Sun 16-Sep-12 22:45:37

<marks place>

I've been on holiday, but will start afresh after this wine is finished in the morning

Helga I don't think I'll be polishing my finger nails due to work and climbing but I'll have a go looking after them grin no idea what to do with cuticles and things though?!

Will do a boots online shop this week, I have a few other bits to get like a comedone extractor to replace the one I lost and new face mask as the lovely smelling Good Stuff one I bought to match the rest of my good Stuff products burnt my face on Friday and has left me pink sad

twooter Sun 16-Sep-12 23:08:39

I was going to start last week, but not got around to it. Tomorrows the day then! Feelinf a bit rough and unkempt at the moment, so Plenty of room for improvement.

HelgatheHairy Mon 17-Sep-12 00:04:43

Day 98

AGeeksWife Mon 17-Sep-12 07:49:35

Well my day 98 has started well- I have moisturised, had my ACV, had 1 litre of water already and had a mushroom omelette for breakfast.

My main taskfor today is to start my feet routine as they are my biggest bugbear (apart from my weight) so that's going to be good.

Must remember my vitamin too.

maristella Mon 17-Sep-12 07:52:36

Good morning smile

I didn't make it onto the stepper as I pulled lots of leg muscles on Saturday. Instead I did 50 sit ups, which was fun with a pulled muscle between my shoulder and neck! I'm falling apart!

Also had a detox herb tea this morning. Yuck.

Just had my hot lemon water , nice and refreshing .
Will have an activia yoghurt , and a pear , if not too squishy , for breakfast .
Making a load of veg soup for lunch , not sure about dinner , need something easy as I'm working later and DH can't ( really can't ) cook .

Hair washed and dried , body showered and lotioned .

Loads of handcream on last night , hands feel lovely this morning .
Feet might take a bit longer !

WopBopALooBop Mon 17-Sep-12 08:12:44

Which hair oil does everyone use? I tried a homemade thing from the Internet last night, it was absolutely vile and make my hair all stringy and lank. Had to hurriedly wash my hair again this morning to try and make it better but it is still pretty horrid! :-/

WhyIRayLiotta Mon 17-Sep-12 08:19:30

Morning all. Day 98 ahead.

Today I am going to make myself drink more water.
I am feeling a bit more glossy already. My feet are looking nice - and my hands look all manicured. I even corrected a few chips last night - usually if just let them all chip away.
I am also all de-fuzzed and moisturised.

Need to take more care with what I am eating. Missss - I am so impressed at you staying away from carbs and sugar.

I've found that a bit more of the list than I want isn't really good for me sad But here goes my list:

1. 8 glasses of filtered water a day
2. Exfoliate (everything...within reason) >>> I have exfoliating glove things and some gorgeous Lush blackberry and coal exfoliator, that's okay right? Or is there some good trick?
3. Use teeth whitener >>> Any tips for this, whitening toothpastes make my teeth go funny when I use then for too long!
4. Use anti-aging face cream Don't need it just yet grin Will change to "Use a face mask regularly."
5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands)
6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream eye stick thing.
7. The Shred / other intensive exercise (I have health issues that limit this, had a down week last week so will hopefully keep going for a month now!
8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day
9. Healthy breakfast daily
10. Use hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) >>> Any oiling okay? I have really oily hair so would this make it worse?
11. No alcohol during the week & no boozing it up on weekends I don't really drink often. I won't get drunk on the rare occasion I drink will be my compromise (so one drink only! grin)
12. Take vitamins every day
13. Body brushing
14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week. Veggie here. Have Flax oil daily.
15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM.
16. Regular hair removal
17. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps Not a huge eater of sweet things. Cleanse morning and night & scrub daily?
18. No more fizzy drinks Don't really drink them anyway!
19. DAILY body moisturising
20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m. Herbal tea first thing in AM

This morning I have had herbal tea, toast with almond butter (first breakfast in years! I feel a bit ill though already confused) and

Engelsemama Mon 17-Sep-12 08:33:36

Jumping in a few days late as have just found this thread. Need to tweak the list to suit me. It's my sister's wedding in 6 weeks and am the only bridesmaid who is a mum (DS is 11mo) so my challenge is not to look like a whale next to my very tiny sisters and the other super slim bridesmaid.

Paintyourbox Mon 17-Sep-12 08:47:02

We have done 2 days- congratulations! smile

This morning I have body brushed, applied face cream, eye cream, body moisturiser and foot cream. Put my make-up on, taken my vitamin and omega 3.

Breakfast was a grapefruit followed by yoghurt and my obligatory cup of tea (you'll never part me from it!)

Feeling better already here- my skin feels so lovely and moisturised and thanks to the hair oil my mane is glossy and shiny!

WopBop I am using VO5 miracle oil, good price and great results. I thought it would make my greasy hair worse but it hasn't!

Engelsemama Mon 17-Sep-12 08:52:27

Okay, have tweaked my list

1.8 glasses of water a day
2.Exfoliate during shower
3.Stick to cleanser, toner, moisturizing routine every morning and night
4.Intensive nail care (feet and hands) –once a week minimum, use the hand cream next to sinks and in handbag!
5.Use eye cream/serum that is sitting in bathroom cupboard as part of morning/evening routines
6.Start using my make-up (at the moment I stick with foundation/concealer/powder)
7.Shred minimum 3 times a week
8.Go running at least twice a week (building up from 15 minutes back to 5k – about 30 minutes)
9. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day (fruit when DS has fruit, add veg/salad portion to packed lunches)
10.Use hair oil or hair mask once a week(moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc)
11.No snacking after dinner during the week (keep crudités in fridge instead)
12.Remember to take vitamin D every day
13.Body brushing
14.Regular hair removal
15.Give up crisps and cheese bingeing (my downfall) on Fri/Sat nights.

Off now to do shred and then head into town for supplies smile (Essentials like body scrub!)

HelgatheHairy Mon 17-Sep-12 09:13:54

Wopbop & pixie I have really oily hair and use l'oreal extraordinary oil. I just don't apply it on my scalp. The way I use it is 2 pumps into my hands, rub hands together then run hands through damp hair. I think it's lovely. paint uses a vo5 one and I've seen coconut oil mentioned as well.

HelgatheHairy Mon 17-Sep-12 09:15:09

So far I don't have much done, however I have had 2 glasses of water, 20 min walk with the puppy and have had breakfast. Off to shower now.

addictedisback Mon 17-Sep-12 09:15:40

Good morning, I am exfoliated, fuzz. free, moisturised, hair done and i have some mascara and lipstick on! I'm feeling like a human. Both girls are dressed ive messed. around wiith my blogs and were sat waiting with a bottle of water in hand for a friend to turn up so we can go out. I forgot the vitimins so will take now. quite impreased as its only 9.15 (I have been up since 4.30 thanks to. Dd1's tummy ache sad

twooter Mon 17-Sep-12 09:35:42

Still in right mindset for my first day. Going to have a rake through my under-used makeup box for all the nail cream/hand creams.

NotInTheMood Mon 17-Sep-12 09:49:15

Marking my place if you don't mind me joining you. I am starting to look and feel my age so in desperate need of changing my ways. So fa I have started my day with a glass of water, coffee and fruit and fibre. I have yet to get my lemons and green tea oh and omega 3

BookFairy Mon 17-Sep-12 10:32:50

Welcome to the newcomers smile

I have very achy legs from my first Shred yesterday sad I will persevere - within reason! I'm managing everything but my main downfall is snacking in the evening. I need to beat this and sort my feet so I will give myself a pedicure tonight (difficult to walk to the kitchen and my hands will be busy!).

I'm still going to bed too late (11.30pm). I'm going to aim to switch the light off at 11pm tonight and work back from there.

confused I'm impressed by your exfoliating mitts! Once a week is recommended as being sufficient. I use Oral-B toothpaste as it is for enamel and whitening.

paint and addicted you sound like you are both totally on it!

Shoved some salt in my shower gel to exfoliate last night and coated my hair in dd's hair oil before washing it. I walked back from the school and nursery drop off and stopped at McDonalds for a coffee and fruit bag instead of the normal hash brown. I bought some chicken and salad for lunch. Not going to get a chance to do an exercise dvd before the kids get back home but I'll squeeze in 30 mins of hula-hooping before bed as long as DP promises not to video it like last time.

I've had a busy weeekend catching up with friends and family so I have managed to look quite glossy and buffed up on the outside but have drunk and eaten far too much.

Or, as my car-loving husband would say - the body work looks good but the engine is crap.

So, I have fruit and unlimited tap water, plus homemade vegetable soup for lunch, so I'm hoping to do better today.

Sadly, The Shred is on the table in front of me which I am a little scared of trying...

longjane Mon 17-Sep-12 12:01:32

well my face is looking really good from using moisturizer
which i never have before

I was going to do the shred but i have sprained my ankles walking the dog as I have fallen over 3 times so I am sitting with taped ankles and i going to leave the shred till they feel a bit better as i still need to walk the dog a hour or two a day so will still be excising .

drinking the drinking is going well

HelgatheHairy Mon 17-Sep-12 12:11:15

laura I was wondering what to have for lunch and now I want soup!

jane hope your ankle heals up fast. Glad drinking the drinking is going well!

Engelsemama Mon 17-Sep-12 12:51:26

Afternoon all,

Have made a good start to my first day. Shredded and then body brush/exfoliation/de-fuzzing/shower/moisturize. Went into town and actually made an effort to not wear jeans and T-shirt. Wore by beautiful suede boots that I bought a year and half ago and haven’t yet seen the light of day. “I will not be a slob” should be on my list.

Bookfairy evening snacking is my problem too. DH and I used to be really strict about only snacking on Fri/Sat nights, but the “weekend” seems to have expanded (especially since I’m only part-time now) so that we’re doing it every night. And even if we don’t snack during the week, the cheese binges at the weekend have gotten out of control. So I’ll take a leaf out of your book and give myself a pedicure tonight – good plan!

My weight has been yo-yoing up and down for the last 8 months. I can’t shift the last 5kg I put on when I was pregnant with DS. Looked at my weight graph on Wii fit last weekend and it’s a very spiky graph except the 10 days I was doing shred – it just went down and down! –and then back up again as soon as I stopped—

Thank you for inspiring me ladies!

Helga it was delicious soup - thanks Mum! - and hopefully hit two of my 5-a-day.

Still haven't started Shredding yet though. I blame the postman bringing my Amazon delivery. I am being distracted by books grin

addictedisback Mon 17-Sep-12 13:29:48

Argh. Ladies I'm starting to wonder if I may be pregnant again confused I'm gagging when drinking only water, yet ive hardly ever drank squash (apart from when PG) I'm struggling to take vitimin tablets I throw them back up (another problem when PG). I'm on my 3rd unusually light period in just over 1 months (DD is just over 7 months my periods started the day she turned 6 months despite not bf) I'm feeling sick all the time and I've been feeling unusual fluttering...oh god, please no.

Helenagrace Mon 17-Sep-12 14:17:06

Reasonable start here. Managing to remember night cream and water. Green tea is replacing all but two of my frequent caffeinated drinks. Nails are nice, sometimes remembering hand cream.

Stress not doing so good - crashed the car this morning. 25 year perfect driving record and then two accidents in four months, both my fault. Aaaaarrrrrggggghhh!!

Paintyourbox Mon 17-Sep-12 16:12:57

Bookfairy I am totally on it because I have set up a princessing blog, if I don't keep at it I will have a very public fail haha!

Laura at least you have your Shred! Mine is still at Amazon waiting to be ordered!

Good day so far, 4 mile walk, baby yoga and lots of water. Slightly embarrassing incident involving threading wouldn't happen to a real princess!

Addicted the possibility of a princessing baby?! Wow!

Just bought my body brush, some nail bits, flax oil, coconut oil (that's for hair and body, I already use it in cooking but didn't want to use the same tub) and other things ready to go smile Today I had herbal tea first thing and toast with almond butter. Washed/scrubbed my face with dark angel from Lush (it is lush grin), have found some recipes for face masks too and a natural tooth whitening techique I'm going to try (tumeric apparently!) smile

I'm stealing ideas where ever you guys write them down too (like salt in my body wash! how often should you exfoliate?)

I have my vitamins ready to mix with juice (juice+, the shells aren't fun to swallow so I tip the contents into juice).

The main one I'll struggle with is the drinking water, I barely manage a litre at the moment blush I'm all excited about this though, looking forward to looking good this Christmas without the make up caked on which is what my sister's usually try to do to me hmm

Helga: Thanks for the recommendation! I couldn't find it in boots but have written down the name of it and will try find it if the coconut oil doesn't work smile

Bookfairy: My exfoliating mitts are brilliant, bought them in boots last year for a couple of quid and they still have them in there now. I mainly got them as they were purple blush But I use them grin

What kind of salt goes in the shower gel? Normal table salt or the chunky sea-based variety?

I have to leave for hula hooping in an hour so am now going to have my juice+, flax oil and then shower and exfoliate with a sugar scrub I made at Christmas hmm It's still going though! Then put on some aloe vera body lotion. My explorers will probably laugh at me for smelling girly though later this evening hmm

BookFairy Mon 17-Sep-12 16:43:27

Orange You Shred 3 times per week?! How?! My legs are killing me after my first go yesterday. I am weak! I'm not sure my local shops sell Pukka tea though I must investigate as I like the sound of that tea.

Engles Yes my "only snacks" at the weekend plan has gone by the wayside... I need to be stricter with myself. As there's only me I don't have anyone to tut disapprovingly grin

Laura I did The Shred for the first time yesterday and couldn't walk down the stairs afterwards, but don't let that put you off! I'll probably do it 2/3 times a week to see how I get used to it. My body is only used to walking and Yoga smile

Paint Super impressed to hear about the blog! Where is it? I will read regularly and take note. I'm determined to succeed as I want to treat my body as a temple, not a dumping ground! Also, I want to get back in the dating game and in this part of Up North there are seriously restricted numbers of eligible bachelors under 50.

Wow addicted Dare I suggest you find out for certain?

I feel v motivated to keep going smile

Confusedpixie I just use normal table salt. I had at look at shred on amazon. I think it would kill me. I've got the Clare Nasir dvd that I might dig out and also got a 10 minute solutions one that my sis win in a competition last week and gave to me. I bought a rowing machine a few weeks ago to use in front of the tv but slides around the floor too much so it's currently folded up in the corner of the living room.

I make a point of drinking a glass of water every time I go into the kitchen for any reason, washing up, laundry etc. I also have a glass while I'm waiting for the kettle to boil.

Paint tell me more about your blog. I love to read blogs - like nosing in someone's diary grin

Are you ok Helena ? A bump in the car can really ruin the day, can't it?

I STILL haven't Shredded. Book - being unable to walk in a straight line is my worry with the wretched DVD. Last time I had a few days of using it, I struggled on the stairs afterwards BUT I had toned arms really quickly! It is such a good workout.

Right. I am WELL UP for this challenge. I have been working like a maniac in my job and look like the wreck of the Hesperus. Grey-faced, eye bags you could keep potatoes in, yellowy teeth, bitten nails. I used to actually be alright-looking.
So far today I have made a shaky start (day 1. Does not bode well)
I have done:
8 glasses of filtered water
Anti ageing face cream
Eye cream
Whitening toothpaste
Hand & feet moisturising oil
Hair oil

I have also plucked my eyebrows, does that count?

I have not eaten any extra fruit & veg and I'm currently necking a bottle of Peroni Nastro Azzuro. NAUGHTY

issimma Mon 17-Sep-12 17:56:46

I'm doing princess-lite!
Dc2 due in less than 100 days, so will do until due date (9ish weeks).
No alcohol and early nights sorted, but struggle with exercise apart from toddler chasing and pushchair waddling. My aims are simple:
1. Cleanse and moisturise morning and night (skank)
2. Floss daily using dh's whizzy electronic flossing gadget.
3. Take pregnacare and Spatone every day.
4. Use hair and face mask weekly.
5. Blackhead strips 2xweek.
6. Get hair and nails professionally sorted before due date.

I tend to wear a bit of make up every day - just need to buy tinted moisturiser and biore strips.

issimma Mon 17-Sep-12 17:57:20

Oh and daily eye cream.

issimma Mon 17-Sep-12 18:01:25

Would love a link to the blog too grin

Paintyourbox Mon 17-Sep-12 18:06:42

Welcome issimma congrats on your pregnancy and good luck!

Tak1ng don't worry- I found the first day really hard. I think until I start seeing results it will be tough and some days I hardly manage to get dressed

Laura I sent a PM about the blog!

My princessing may have to grind to a halt tonight as I moved the new red rug on our cream living room carpet and discovered that the carpet is now pink!! bet Kate Middleton doesn't ever have to get the carpet shampoo out!

Helenagrace Mon 17-Sep-12 18:07:17

Laura thank you for asking. I'm fine. Car is drivable but not pretty.

On top of the car crash I found out for definite today that by the end of October I have to find a house in Sussex to rent, pack up our house near the Lakes, move, find schools and unpack. Oh joy!

issimma Mon 17-Sep-12 19:21:05

Sounds incredibly stressful helena. Hope the princess pampering helps a little!

IShallCallYouSquishy Mon 17-Sep-12 19:25:46

Ok dear, really not doing well so far! Big bag of malteasers eaten over course of the day blush Tomorrow is another day and I WILL do everything. I just need a kick up the big, fat, wobbly bum!

I have noticed that I've got £55 of points on my boots card so think I might treat myself to a few little bits. Any recommendations?

Well done to everyone that's doing better then me so far!

Lavenderhoney Mon 17-Sep-12 19:51:29

managed to shred again today, thats 4 days in a row. am also using my fitnesspal to keep me on the straight and narrow.

otherwise disaster as drank too much yesterday.

Paintyourbox Mon 17-Sep-12 20:19:29

IShall I really really love Clinique Chubby Sticks right now, they are a lovely treat and come in great shades!

HelgatheHairy Mon 17-Sep-12 20:25:16

Having a decent day. I've managed 3 meals with no snacks (yet). Had to have a second shower due to getting drenched giving a very muddy smelly puppy a bath.

Had a healthy spicy chicken stew for dinner with loads of peppers, okra and spinach. I halved my portion of rice and filled my plate with salad. According to my fitness pal I've still got 500 calories to spend but I don't want to eat anything else so late.

oopsiforgot Mon 17-Sep-12 21:56:29

Not a bad day here, managed to drink lots of water, I didn't actually keep a count but find the more I drink the more I need it wink. Very interested to read that about the fizzy water greensmooth worryingly I've been drinking loads of it! So must try to stick to the tap filtered water. Not started on the vits offically yet, just taking a daily berocca but need to hoke out and check the date on the pregnacare up in the cupboard.
I'm very impressed by all the exercise going on, would love to give the Shred a go but I have several unused exercise DVDs. I'm not really looking to loose weight, just tone up, is it more for hard core weight loss?
Also since I've been 'taking my face off' every night I find I'm sleeping better, is that just me? Loving how good I'm feeling about myself already smile

Misssss Mon 17-Sep-12 22:39:24

Paint please can I have the link to your blog?

Still keeping up with the princessing here. Had vitamins, actually ate breakfast, salad for lunch, lemon water first thing, cleansed, toned and moisturised and applied makeup before leaving the house!

Still can't face the shred! I'm scared. I went to Zumba this evening so that should be ok. I also taught my year threes basketball for an hour this afternoon and did lots of running around and showyoffy jumping to shoot! Failed a little on the no carbs front and mate cooked rice for tea. Although I only had a small bowl full, not the mountain I would normally eat.

oops I know what you mean, I think the process of taking the slap off is quite relaxing. I'm a slattern and normally fall into bed with a face full of slap daily. Its nice to have clean skin in bed. I def do sleep better.

Day 97
Morning all !
Hot lemon water on the go here .
I bought an exfoliating mitt yesterday , and forgot to take it into the shower , so will start that tomorrow .
Only have poncey expensive , only use for best Jo Malone body cream , and can't find anything useful in the dusty collection in the bathroom . I'm guessing Tescos own brand will be worth a try .
Feeling good . So far .
Made soup yesterday , was a bit bland though . Any tasty tips ?

AGeeksWife Tue 18-Sep-12 07:59:56

Good morning!

I didn't do my feet last night, so cross at myself. Will do today- they need so much work I can't believe I'm still neglecting them.

This is going to sound silly as it's only day 4 but I woke up this m

AGeeksWife Tue 18-Sep-12 08:01:34

Stupid iPhone, sorry.

Anyway I woke up this morning and felt so much more serene than usual (even though it was bloody 4.30am with DS2). Feeling loads better already!

NotInTheMood Tue 18-Sep-12 08:03:37

Well I've been doing lots of walking as car currently in the garage and ds2 is only in school half days do lots of school runs. Left oil on hair overnight. Had a rubbish nights sleep as kept waking up for a wee thanks to all the water I've been consuming grrrr

lurkingfromhome Tue 18-Sep-12 08:45:20

I'm here! Was away for the weekend (thus making the most of eating all the wrong things...) and only got back last night. So far, I have:

showered, exfoliated and slathered on body cream
washed hair and put on hair mask
had hot water & lemon
tackled my feet with the foot file thingy
taken my vitamins (a multivitamin, an omega fish oil & a co-enzyme Q-10)
given myself a mini-manicure
done my usual skincare routine
applied eyelash growth serum
had a healthy breakfast

I have The Shred (or The Dread, as I have come to call it) sitting unopened in its wrapper, but will do that later today for the first time. Eek! Will report back if am not in too much agony to type. Am quite scared as am so unfit I am actually quite worried I might just collapse and have to be stretchered out of the room. Am hoping it delivers the results everyone says it does.

Today's remaining challenges are (i) eat healthy lunch and dinner (ii) use handcream and lip balm several times while I'm sitting at my desk and (iii) drink my eight glasses of water.

Good luck today, everyone!

BookFairy Tue 18-Sep-12 10:19:56

Morning :-)

I did my feet last night - well, I painted my toe nails. I have Yoga today so I felt it was necessary!

I have my shower in the evening so I did everything last night before my early night (!) I can't face the Shred today as I have a busy day and night class (including a walk instead of bus from the station) but I will definitely do it tomorrow.

lurking I feel it in my legs more than anything!

I'm just out of the dentist. I had a scale and polish. That always makes me feel good. What's not so good is that I need a tooth out because it was damaged during a wisdom tooth extraction in May and stupid me left it so it's now worn right down to the nerve. I jumped a foot in the air when the dentist probed it.

twooter Tue 18-Sep-12 11:20:07

Started off well, exfoliate, moisturised, vitamins etc. things went to pot a bit after that.. Going onto my fitness pal again, which will hopefully inspire me to do the rest as well.

Bad day for the diet yesterday though.

I finally braved The Shred just now and am having a nice sit-down. Blimey, I am out-of-condition.

addictedisback Tue 18-Sep-12 12:37:52

I'm also on it because of my blog!

I haven't read all of the posts, you talk too much!

My period has gotten heaver so am sticking my fingers in my ears about pg (ive taken tests before and all apart from 1 were negivive)

Right I have a couple more vitimins to take today, I've had to spread it over the day. I'm drinking week squash and have moisturised, exfoliated etc.

I get really bad shaving rash on my thighs and have started using baby oil in the evening and moistureiser in the morning. It's really impr

MsKayGee Tue 18-Sep-12 13:08:02

I'm doing well, remembering the vitamins and am forcing myself to drink a glass of water in work every time I go into the kitchen to make a cup of tea. I'm back on the exfoliating. I've developed an awful rash on the inside of my legs, I think it's from using baby oil, I seem to remember the same thing happening once before. So I'm going to take a day or two off from moisturising and switch to a different cream when I start again.

My hair looks AMAZING. I'd like to think it's down to the hair oil but I've recently bought a new hairdryer (ummed and ahhhed over GHD or Parlux and went for the Parlux in the end) and it's brilliant, I haven't had to use straightners since buying it so my hair's in great condition and looks like it's had a salon blow dry every time I wash it.

My crest whitening strips which I bought off e-bay STILL haven't arrived, despite the seller insisting he's now sent two lots out by recorded delivery hmm. I think I'm going to lodge a report with PayPal and order some more off someone else if they don't turn up in the next day or two.

Gym tonight. I'll see what classes are on and if there's nothing I fancy then I'll do my ususal - 15 minutes bike, 15 minutes x-trainer, 15 minutes step machine, 1500m rowing machine, a circuit of the weights and then 10 minutes cooldown walk on the treadmill.

Oh and I've discovered that I love tangy crunchy apples, the kind that are really noisy to eat, I can't get enough of them - I'm sure my colleagues are thrilled! grin

missorinoco Tue 18-Sep-12 13:11:34

I salute you all. After flicking onto this I started trying to drink two litres of water a day. I keep matching every hot drink with and hot water, and I'm still barely making a litre. You have also reminded me of the vitamins sitting in my cupboard.

I think I shall go for the 465 day challenge.

Paintyourbox Tue 18-Sep-12 13:29:49

Okay I'm not such a princess today. Woke up late and then had to mop up a wet puddle courtesy of my little girl.

Think I need one of those fancy vitamin drip things like the 'slebs have lol!

BookFairy Tue 18-Sep-12 13:57:00

Sitting down is a good plan Laura I Shredded upstairs (that sounds weird!) and couldn't walk downstairs afterwards grin

DoIlooklike: If you like squash, the easiest and most flavourful soup on the planet (imo!) is a roasted squash and garlic soup.

Chop squash into chunks, chuck in roasting pan with dash of oil and some garlic, roast until browning, blend all together with some water until at desired consistency (better thick though). You can have it as it is, add chilli in any form to it for a kick, a swirl of creme fraiche or cream for a richer taste, pepper for flavour, etc. You can also add other veg like parsnip, carrots or sweet potato easily enough, and red onion. I usually caramelise some red onions and then crisp them up a bit in the oven to throw on top <<drools>> May make some of this later with my special smoked garlic too! grin

My day is going well! Had toast for breakfast again with nut butter, felt really ill around 11 though so after her gym class my charge and I went to a little hole-in-the-wall type cafe thing at local gardens and I bought an applewood cheddar sandwich for me (they loaded the cheddar in, had to take some out!) and we shared a bit of brownie for lunch (she did have sandwiches too, just some from home! I don't just feed her brownie wink)

I have had 500ml of water and two herbal teas this morning. I've had my vitamins and flax oil (bleurgh) and have climbing tonight.
Last night I wasn't so good with dinner. I forgot about timings being dodgy between hooping and explorers and by the time I got home from hooping, having got lost on the way home, I had time to get changed, eat a bag of doritos whilst changing and run out of the door.
Luckily I hadn't eaten as one of the explorers split his head open and there was blood everywhere. I'm not normally squeamish but the amount of it was mental! (He's fine though, small cut in a dodgy place!) Came home and had a tub of co-operative vegetable soup with barley that had been frozen for times like this and went straight to bed as it was gone 11 by the time I'd managed to defrost the sodding thing! I have a nice bruise on my hand from hand hooping last night too, but apparently I'll be a natural with the double hoops later on grin Only because I've been doing poi for four/five years though!

I'm glad to have a good excuse not to Shred though, you lot are putting me off with it! grin Well done though, I hope it gets easier for you all as you do it more!
I have climbing tonight, I'm looking forward to it smile That and purposely walking up massive hills pushing charge in the buggy earlier is my exercise for the day!

On another note, is anybody on fitocracy? If you are I'd love to follow progress on there!

Only had carrot and coriander soup for lunch without bread so treated myself to 3 of dd's mini jaffa cakes. I bought a proper facial moisturiser instead of just using my body lotion on my face like I normally end up doing. I bought some night cream and a body brush too. Completely forgot to buy vitamins.

I have cheated and eaten chocolate finger while handing them out to DS and his friend after school. I just put it in my mouth without thinking.

<hangs head>

In better news, the after-effects of Day 1 of The Shred haven't been bad. In fact I feel quite energetic now

longjane Tue 18-Sep-12 17:22:11

right ordered straps for my ankles ( they are a lot better ) before i start the shred ( still in packing)
have found exfoliating gloves and been using them
found 3 tubs of moisturizer ( its is amazing what you get given for christmas and dont use) that is really doing great things for my skin . I have had to throw one out as I really could not stand the smell of it.

water drinking and no crisps not so good as son when to shop and came back the fizzy pop crisp and chocolate cake ( which was not as nice as it looked but eaten now sadly)

Have walked about 2 1/2 till 3 hours with dogs today so done ok their i think now to get son to cook a healthy tea rather that the chippy tea we had yesterday (whoops.. )

liking the soup ideas on here they sound sound lovely

HelgatheHairy Tue 18-Sep-12 18:44:02

Just a quick check in. Not having a good day. Hardly any water, more Aero, forgot ACV. Giving up on today, will get back to it tomorrow.

Lavenderhoney Tue 18-Sep-12 19:36:19

ok, better today

shred again- how can i be getting more useless at it? gilian keeps saying 'you should be noticing your stamina increase, right' and i'm so not. still, keeping at it. have downloaded her onto the ipad so can do it anywhere, not just the lounge therefore avoiding comments from dc about my bottom and cake obsession and where its got me etc etc.

plus exfolitaing with mit thing and putting body lotion on. this is a pain as cream won't rub in fast enough for me. have also started to rub moisturiser into my decotalage (sp,sorry) twice a day when i do my face. in the wrong light it looks a tiny bit crepy, enough to panic me anywaysmile

managing more water, but cannot face breakfast. not doing vitamins as dont like it all the capsules - i eat pretty healthily so don't have to worry about changing my diet.also cannot even think about lemon juice in water first thing, but have some green tea so am going to start with that. oh, and no coffee after midday!

won't be doing the hair oil thing but i love the idea, i just don't have the time to faff washing it out, drying my long and unruly hair, -how often a week do you do it and will it ruin the colour? i have gold highlights and it costs a frtune to get it done.(tightfisted)

using toner on my face now, perfume everyday, flossing teeth twice a day, getting teeth cleaned by hygenist, must organise wearing makeup everyday. do you touch up during the day? i just shove it on in the morning and then forget about it.

going to do my eyebrows tomorrow and overhaul my wearing of shoes. live in birkenstops. nice for feet but not ideal for looking groomed.

have done the foot cream (vaseline is brilliant) on my feet, but just put socks and cream on round the house whilst doing housework for an hour or so, really horrible for me in bed, hot.

HelgatheHairy Tue 18-Sep-12 20:01:10

lavender you dont need to wash the hair oil out. There are specific ones for coloured hair ( I think) there's a Keratess one ( I've prob spelt that really wrong) and a loreal one. And then there's the Moroccan oil.

Paintyourbox Tue 18-Sep-12 21:10:42

I have massively failed today! Perhaps day 3 is the hard day?!

My DD is teething and it's horrible seeing her so unhappy, she just wants me to cuddle her all the time. I've tried Paracetamol, Ashton and Parsons Powders and Bonjela for kids but none of it seems to be working.

So as a result I've slacked off with the water, drank some fizzy juice for energy, had a takeaway for dinner, didn't moisturise, didn't body brush and haven't walked as far as usual. I'll start afresh tomorrow with a positive attitude- I need to man up as I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today.

helga I will stage an intervention and remove any further supplies of aero (willing to take one for the team if it means you can stick to the challenge haha)

lavendar have you thought about a body moisturising spray? Soap and glory do one called Girligo, it's a light mist so you just spray on and give it a quick rub. It more or less dries instantly so no faffing. Also I bought a body brush that you can use dry or wet with exfoliator added on- achieves two tasks at once!

WhyIRayLiotta Tue 18-Sep-12 21:23:15

I've had a pretty rubbish day too... I did take my vitamins and have my green tea, but also had a chippy for dinner and some biscuits. might have some crisps too

I'll be back to it tomorrow!

issimma Tue 18-Sep-12 22:05:23

Terrible processing here. Did just have a glass of water though grin.

Because I've cut out desserts and biscuit/cake with every cup of coffee my calorie intake is only averaging 900. I don't want to risk my body going into starvation mode but I'm genuinely not hungry. Maybe I'll just have a takeaway and wine at the weekend to use up all my saved calories. I've dropped 4lbs already probably water weight at this stage but quite pleased.

oopsiforgot Tue 18-Sep-12 22:47:23

I'm using Unite hair oil and have been for a good 6 weeks, according to my hairdresser you cannot overuse it, it will not make your hair greasy, it's smooths your hair, adds volume, helps it dry quicker and protects it from 'the elements' basically covers everything you could want in a hair product! I have to say my ends r surprisingly good, which is great as I really want longer hair by 97 days!! wink
Heading off to the market in the morning to get some oily fish and fruit and vegsmile
Still need to get to the hair removal part of this plan, although quite like hairy legs to keep me warm on wintergrin

maristella Tue 18-Sep-12 23:07:10

Ahhh crap, I forgot to do my sit ups sad

Doing ok other than that but can't stop snacking at work...

addictedisback Wed 19-Sep-12 07:58:57

Morning all, dh had to go to london today so had to leave at 6am. So I'm sat here in my PJ's having just woken up. I didn't put any oil in my hair yesterday or blow dry it so its looking alittle frizzy this morning.
other than that I'm doing quite well I think.
Next up on my list today is taking vitimins, starting on the water and getting the girls dressed. Hopefully the dds will let me jump in the shower, defuzz, exfoliate (I'm mainly doing just my face and I have that many blackheads and enlarged pores itreally does need doing every day!) I then need to moisturize and do my hair, although having just brushed it, it doesn't look that bad so I may not bother washing it! (shock I ALWAYS wash my hair every day, but since starting this it just doesn't seem to need it!)

BookFairy Wed 19-Sep-12 08:29:12

Day 96

My legs still aching but I must Shred today!

addictedisback Wed 19-Sep-12 08:36:18

(Sorry didn't realise I was the first to post this morning)

lurkingfromhome Wed 19-Sep-12 09:30:22

I took the Shred out of its wrapping yesterday (baby steps...), watched it for a bit and realized you need weights. I did not know this! So do I need to go to a sports shop and buy real hand weights (and if so, what weight?) or is there anything in the house I can use instead? I'm assuming two tins of soup won't cut it confused

Misssss Wed 19-Sep-12 09:51:08

lurking I just use two 1.5 ltr bottles of water. I do have some very girly little weights but its like lifting a bag of feathers.

Yesterday was a write off in terms of princessing. It was my niece's first birthday so lots of cake was consumed and my sil cooked an amazing dinner. Back on it today. I've just got up and having a lemon and hot water.

Best mate is coming round this evening for dinner & Dallas. We are going to Shred together and then do pampering type stuff, facemasks, pedicures etc.

BookFairy Wed 19-Sep-12 09:58:31

lurking I used 2 tins of beans!

I'm struggling to find time to do any formal excercise. I've been taking the bus to nursery/school with the kids then walking back. I live in a 3 storey house so up and down stairs a lot with laundry etc, plus all the extra water I'm drinking means lots I'd trips upstairs to the loo. I've been making a point of using the loo on the top floor. Every little helps I suppose or am I just deluding myself?

lurkingfromhome Wed 19-Sep-12 10:47:39

Oh thanks, Misssss and BookFairy. Very glad I don't need to enter the unfamiliar surroundings of a sports shop. grin

addictedisback Wed 19-Sep-12 11:04:55

So vitimins still haven't been taken. Both DC are having naps and I am making the most of it by having a hot hot chocolate and watching day time TV. I have wet hair, no water has been consumed. I have due fussed tho! And I used baby oil on mg just shaven legs and I'm having a reaction to it sad

lurkingfromhome Wed 19-Sep-12 11:34:38

I try and tick as many things off in ten minutes as I can, otherwise they'd never get done, eg vitamins get taken with hot water & lemon, guzzled while moisturizing legs and putting eyelash serum on. Four birds with one stone. Still not drinking enough water, though. I just keep forgetting.

HelgatheHairy Wed 19-Sep-12 12:57:37

So I kind of have from the neck up sorted. Meaning skincare and hair. But I keep forgetting bits of everything else. Like this morning I body brushed but forgot to give myself a rub down with my exfoliating gloves. Then realised I was putting my jeans on and didn't have time to moisturise (if wearing trackies or baggy jeans it's fine but slightly damp legs and tight jeans doesn't work!) Have taken vitamins but forgot about water.

Going to exfoliate my face and do a face mask tonight. And need to get eyebrows under control again. And book a hair appointment and a dentist appointment.

I wandered into boots today and they have started putting out the Christmas skincare sets. Saw a "facial in a box" by Sanctury Spa but it was €26!!! And wouldn't last that long. Think I'll be waiting for the half price sale and the buy 3 get one free offers. this one here

But it does mean the half price weekly offers should be starting soon. Think it was the start of October last year. Always get the Soap & Glory one although that's always the last one to come out.

I'm also ignoring any mention of The Shred. I am doing a bit of exercise though. 20 mins with the dog in the morning and about 30 mins in the evening which involves going up and down hills.

Liking the hot lemon in the morning .
Exfoliating mitt was a bit of a shock ! Quite bracing !
Tesco ( found an old bottle ) body lotion makes my legs feel a bit sticky , but not too bad .
Used a VO 5 hot oil treatment , hair feels nice and silky , and thicker than normal . May be because I actually dried and styled it properly .
confusedpixie I'm making oven roasted butternut soup as we speak !
I think the problem with the bland soup , was I was making at too virtuous !
So olive oil and salt have been used , and a splash of creme fraiche to finish .
Can't wait for late lunch .
Fruit intake up , water drunk , still haven't taken multi vits or done any excersize
Feeling good though.

HelgatheHairy Wed 19-Sep-12 13:10:55

And paint thank you for your very kind selfless offer to save me from the Aero but, well, it's gone now sad

Paintyourbox Wed 19-Sep-12 14:00:47

Hi everyone! It's a tad slow for me today as DD is a bit unsettled after her vaccinations and just wants constant boob!

Had a lovely walk earlier, shopping has been delivered so have a fresh supply of yummy fruit and veg and a large bag of malteasers

Trying to have a tidying up day as we seem to have worn every bit of clothing we own!

HelgatheHairy Wed 19-Sep-12 14:15:47

Having had a wander through the Christmas bits of the Boots website, I've decided I need to win the lotto. There's loads I want, pedicure kits, manicure kits, bubbly bath kits. REALLY disappointed Soap&Glory haven't put their foot file in any of their kits though! Don't they know it's famous!

longjane Wed 19-Sep-12 17:07:45

have had a day off moisturizing as got up late and had to get going with the dog walking .
the straps came for ankles ( which are feeling a lot better ) so i thought shred or gardening ( pulling all the shit ivy and Thornie things and bit of tree out of my garden ) gardening won as it bin day tomorrow and it is a lovely day .Dogs helped by digging holes.

going to have a bath later do dehairing face pack and moisturizing
Not talking about food today or drinking of water ...

lurkingfromhome Wed 19-Sep-12 18:12:17

Also, I have not budged from my desk all frigging day, except to go downstairs and make endless cups of green tea. I have such a sedentary lifestyle but can't seem to find time to do anything about it. Not even the Shred. Gaaaah! Must do better.

Sadly got attacked by a bar of Cadburys Dairy Milk .
Tasted good though

8 glasses of water a day
Exfoliate and moisturised
Use anti-aging face cream
Intensive nail care (feet and hands)
At least 2 extra fruit & veg ( blueberries, grapes , apple , OJ , butternut squash , carrot , onion )
Healthy breakfast
Hair oil
No alcohol tonight
Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m.

I need to get eye cream ,vitamins , body brush ( not sure about that )
Do some excersise < stamps feet , don't want to >
Salmon for dinner tomorrow .
Not a bad start , I think .

Inneedofbrandy Wed 19-Sep-12 19:20:23

Well Iv'e moisturised every night so far, green tea once a day ish. Kept on top of toes and finger nails, plus started using hand cream and taking my make up off at night. Feel quite proud of myself!

AGeeksWife Wed 19-Sep-12 20:20:39

Not a bad day- had my salmon for tea, walked miles, vitamin and ACV done.

Last night I slathered my feet in Lush Ultrabalm and will do tonight (fir a few days to give the foot file a bit of a head start as they are so bad).

My hair has looked shite today, just one of those straggley mess days where nothing helps. It's not even dirty so don't know why.

And DH left for work really early so no time to moisturise as the kids were in need of supervision!

addictedisback Wed 19-Sep-12 20:35:12

(what does acv stand for?)

Paintyourbox Wed 19-Sep-12 21:47:38

Addicted ACV= Apple cider vinegar. Don't ask me what it is or what it does!

Blog updated- yay! It's getting a lot of interest.

BookFairy Wed 19-Sep-12 22:23:48

Aside from walking I've slacked off exercise and had cake for lunch sad On the plus side I've washed my hair, used hair oil, moisturised, put flexitol on my feet, taken my vitamin and am catching up with my fluid intake. Not too bad?!

HelgatheHairy Thu 20-Sep-12 08:17:52

Day 95

Right, I'm determined today will be better. Have started on a glass of water.

snowballinashoebox Thu 20-Sep-12 08:27:12

My face has fallen offsad big welts itchy beyond itchy and a big scaly burning mess.
I've been using a Ren sample daily moisturiser so think it's that. Anyone any suggestions for lovely kind skin care? I OCM regularly, think I might just stick with that and step away from anti ageing etc.

Fed up. On the plus side from my neck down I am quite princess like, smooth moisturised, get a bit bored with the dry brushing though and endless loo trips! How long is everyone dry brushing for?
Cycled a fair bit, veg consumption ok, but have to up my fruit.

Paintyourbox Thu 20-Sep-12 08:41:45

Snowball that sounds awful! I would say get yourself some anti histamines to help lessen the reaction and relieve the redness/itching. I'd probably avoid applying anything for a few days until it calms down.

Aveeno is absolutely lovely for the skin, I first discovered it for my DDs eczema. My sister has skin like yours- very sensitive- but finds Clarins Daily Energizers to be pretty good.

Forgot the hot lemon , and made myself a nice mug of coffee ( and then another one )
snowball my sister has sensitive skin , the only thing she can use is good old Nivea cold cream
( the stuff your Granny used )

snowballinashoebox Thu 20-Sep-12 09:02:41

I looked at Aveeno and Nivea the other day funnily enough, spent a long time in Boots. Thanks for those ideas, I shall hide and let it calm down.

MsKayGee Thu 20-Sep-12 09:15:23

It was such a bad day for me yesterday. Had to go to a funeral, managed my lemon hot water first thing then it was all downhill from there... Ate too much crap buffet food, drank a few halves of cider, smoked a cigarette, feeling totally bleugh this morning.

Onwards and upwards. I've had my lemon water and vitamin, had breakfast, off out for a fanjo wax and then to the gym for a swim grin.

jsjsdcdp Thu 20-Sep-12 09:19:12

I no im a few days behined but i shall be starting tomorrow. Im going to hot foot it to the shops today get my supplies. I thought i was doing ok until i read this and the other thread about this. Then realised i had been reading with a takeaway on my lap with a bar of chocolate and a bag of onion rings for afters (blush)

lurkingfromhome Thu 20-Sep-12 09:23:05

Still haven't started the body brushing thingy. Mainly because I still haven't bought a body brush. Will do that tomorrow. The Shred is still lying there on the floor gazing at me malevolently. I am very good about the hot water & lemon, exfoliating, moisturizing and vitamin taking, but need to get going on a few other things.

On another note, my DM and DF swear by a teaspoonful of manuka honey every day. Has anyone tried this and what exactly are the benefits? DM was vague when I quizzed her last night (I think she reads in the Daily Express that something is a good idea and follows it slavishly...).

GirlsonFilm Thu 20-Sep-12 13:57:20

I'm joining today if I may, late as we moved house at the weekend and I've only just extracted myself from unpacking (off topic but how did we get so much bloody stuff?)
Anyway, been and got waxed this morning, done 1.5 litres of water, found the nail varnish so will paint toes and off yo have a bath/exfoliate/brush & moisturise. Its amazing how much you can get done when DCs are at nursery!
Apologies for the spelling as on phone as can't find computer.

I've been good with regards to all the beauty stuff. I had a healthy breakfast but I took dd to nasty McDonalds at lunch time for a treat. I was good and got a grilled chicken salad wrap and water, though I did steal a couple of dd's chips and a handful of smarties.

BookFairy Thu 20-Sep-12 17:57:59

Hi js and Girls smile

Don't worry js ! We're all having days when we go off plan. I'm really lacking in the exercise department but I'm telling myself that I'll get there eventually!

Dp was meant to be making shepherd's pie but got in from work too late so currently waiting on our order of fish supper. Also there was chocolate brownie dessert and jersey cream cheap in the supermarket and I love a bargain. I'm enjoying a vodka and diet coke while I wait for my food to arrive. Not going to beat myself up about it. Just going to enjoy and start again tomorrow.

Lavenderhoney Thu 20-Sep-12 19:44:59

On level 2 of shred today, how does she think of these torturous moves? Will never snack again. Did home mani and pedi today, plus drank lots of water and no alcohol. The thought of doing level 2 put me right of my cheese

The weights I use are old water bottlessmile But you can use baked beans or perhaps an ergonomic drink - some have grips ideal for exercising. I think I might have some Zumba weigh somewhere so might dig them out.

have been doing special eye cream as well, but my face has broken out a bit what with all this water etc. flushing toxins hopefully.

must have a go with the green tea, I'm sure it will be lovely. Not.

Yeah alright lavender just because you're doing well envy

Why did you all let me eat that? Now I feel seriously sick. I'm never eating again.

Paintyourbox Thu 20-Sep-12 21:54:54

Hi everyone,

I had a slightly scary thought- what happens after the 100 days?! Do we wake up looking like Kate Middleton? Do we have a few days off over xmas then carry on into new year? Or do we make a giant bonfire of Shred DVDs to keep out the winter cold?!

Misssss Thu 20-Sep-12 22:10:24

Paint I'm hoping and praying that after 100 days all this stuff becomes habit and I do it automatically. I will spend the rest of my days being a fragrant, slim, glossy haired, well groomed princess instead of the hairy scaly troll that is my default setting!

My princessing is going fairly well. Have done another Zumba class today and actually left my car at home and walked a whole mile (its a big deal for me) to the PO.

I've managed another carb free day and I'm going to bed as soon as I've posted this message. Not quite 9pm but v early for me. Plus the takeaway is calling me and I'm determined to resist.

NotNeeemo Thu 20-Sep-12 22:13:59

Am not doing to well.... Tomorrow is a new day smile

BookFairy Thu 20-Sep-12 22:17:28

Lavender you made it to Level 2 shock
I'm mighty impressed as my leg muscles were in agony for days after my first go at Level 1!

Mother I had pancakes and nutella for tea smile

Paint I loved your blog! I've been pondering this myself. I'm hoping to gradually change my mindset and continue on into the new year. I do like The Shred Bonfire idea grin

Bookmark the only thing better than pancakes and rubella is pancakes and chocolate Philadelphia with dark orange marmalade. It tastes like Christmas. I only discovered this new culinary delight the day before I started this bloody challenge so now it's on the banned list.

Nutella. Rubella not so appetising.

Bookfairy bloody phone name changes everybody.

Lavenderhoney Fri 21-Sep-12 02:45:46

Book fairy and motherofnations, I made it to level 2-did the 10 days level 1, legs didnt ache but inam very unfitand had to stop for 5 seconds a bit. Spent much of level 2 staring at the screen in horrorsmile

My hair looks a mess so that's next on my list.

Have started to make lists of everything that needs doing in the house and home admin, anyone else felt princessing drifting into other areas? Actually, wish my dh would prince, he going to look a bit odd next to the new me!

Like the Christmas bonfire ideasmile but am hoping I won't feel like eating so well.

addictedisback Fri 21-Sep-12 08:23:24

Morning all, have I mentioned I'm trying to sell my house? Well I have an appointment with a new estate agent this afternoon and a viewing tomorrow morning, so after jumping in the shower and doing the usual exfoliating probably a bit of defuzzing and moisturizing I'm not going to get much dozen today.

I'm now following paints blog, but I was wondering if anyone else had a blog can they send a link? I love blogs (hence having 3 of my own!) And I'm struggling to fit mning in and feel like I'm out of the loop with alot of you.

WhyIRayLiotta Fri 21-Sep-12 08:38:00

day 94

Been struggling a bit. Have a sore knee - from my rubbish attempts at running sad Hobbling around does not a princess make.
I did buy skin serum and double lash and the crystal nail file - so my hands are groomed and my skin will hopefully look better when these bloody spots dissapear

I've had my vitamins and having my lemon and water now.

Well I've had some morning exercise of sorts wink I'll body brush, exfoliate, moisturiser and oil hair. I don't know if It'll be a very good diet day because I'm off to visit my mum and she wants me to pop to the butchers on my way there and get her some lamb chops but across the road from the butchers is the most amazing halal bakery so I might have to pop in for a samosa.

addicted you need to send me your blog links so I can add you to my blog roll!

Has anyone seen helga?! I hope she is getting on alright...

We all have a cold here- these vitamins aren't working yet!

lurkingfromhome Fri 21-Sep-12 12:02:50

Have managed the usual hot water & lemon, exfoliating, moisturising, foot file, eyelash serum, vitamins, two portions oily fish. Just remembered have not drunk any water all day. Grrrrrrr. Will have to guzzle some now.

Still have not Shredded. Am hopeless. Will make a real attempt next week.

Managed quite well yesterday , absolutely shattered last night and had a glass of wine and a slice of cake . So bed early , then woke at 4-30 this morning .
Tired again now ! And it's only just gone lunchtime !
Had a slice of organic wholemeal bread and some cheese with my soup , very nice , and salmon again tonight .
Tesco have supplements on 3 for 2 , I got 3 packs of 30 multi vitamins with cod liver oil . Will just about see me through til Christmas .
Still haven't done excercise , I work at a go to a health club , so can use the gym , is The Shred a mix of cardio and weights ?
Will Google ! And see what I can find out that will give me a few more days

RevealYourselfTinySongstress Fri 21-Sep-12 15:28:57

Have you linked to your blog, Paintyourbox? Would love to have a read!
Found this when googling , there's a free app for iPad with excersise tips , and other bits and pieces .

bessie26 Fri 21-Sep-12 19:15:02

Sorry, have been slacking on the thread, but will try to catch up later after Shred & a bath.

My guinot eye cream ran out this morning - can anyone recommend a cheaper one?

And please send me links to your blogs!

longjane Fri 21-Sep-12 20:02:20

watered vitamins and moisturizing still walking loads but not shredding yet
tooth paste does not seem to be making much differences but going on with it .

BookFairy Fri 21-Sep-12 21:41:07

That's made me feel better Lavender smile

Doi The Shred is a mix of cardio, strength and abs. 3-2-1 is the name of the game! Apparently. I've only done it once so far blush

I've gone to London so anticipate slacking over the next 4 days as I won't be able to spend the necessary amount of time in the bathroom for moisturising/hair faffing etc, plus I forgot my vitamins! Ah well. I had my hair cut today which was one of my aims. I've eaten quite well now that I think about it and managed to resist the over priced yet alluring chocolate on the train, at Euston and at Waterloo. Go me!

Dosey Sat 22-Sep-12 07:39:35

Morning Princesses. Well it's now a weeks worth of princessesing done. HOw are we all feeling. I have had good days where I have ticked of most of my list and not so good days where I have hardly ticked anything off. Today is going to be a good day, though wine maybe involved this evening but I don't drink too much anyway so not such a big deal.

Well done bookfiary for resisting the chocolate. I wish I had your will power !

BookFairy Sat 22-Sep-12 08:29:36

Day 93

Dosey same here except I call them great days and slightly less than great days grin

addicted ooo what kind of blogs? <knows nothing about blogs> I've started reading Paint's blog so send me some links!

bessie I've started using the super cheap Love The Planet Eyebright Gel.

Karbea Sat 22-Sep-12 08:45:16

I'm rubbish I've not really done anything this week, I spent the first half of the week painting my kitchen and then I've had a snotty cold. But I'm starting today! One week late, so might end up more princess Ann than Kate but ho hum!

I did have a facial yesterday and got a new face wash, serums, moisturiser and eye cream whilst I was there, so baby steps!

Going to write my list today and get on it smile

Dosey Sat 22-Sep-12 09:30:08

Well a very good start so far. Muesli and yoghurt with two cups of green tea for breakfast. I have body brushed and moisturised and taken the dog for an early morning walk which has put some colour in my cheeks. Now where us that crown to shine them jewls wink

Well I'm on my way out to a boozy lunch with a friend which may turn unto an equally boozy dinner but I am looking rather gorgeous thanks to all of the body brushing, exfoliating etc. I might fit in some dancing round my handbag later. That's exercise righthmm

AGeeksWife Sat 22-Sep-12 18:40:58

Good bits first- I have continued to defuzz, my nails are all nicely painted, I have foot cream on, my hair is dyed, my eyebrows are presentable, I've moisturised nearly every day. Lost 3lbs this week!

Bad points- exercise has been fairly non existent, although my diet has been ok. I keep forgetting my vitamin. As its Saturday i completely forgot my water and ACV, which is annoying as i want to be good every day not just week days! And I fully intend to eat half a tub of Ben and Jerrys tonight.

MsKayGee Sat 22-Sep-12 19:03:21

I have been totally on it for the past 3 days and it has been so worth it. I've done a mini detox, cut out all bread, pasta, rice etc and have basically eaten only meat, fruit and veg and only drank water.

I had a 'boudoir' photo shoot today and the pictures are amazing, my skin has never looked so good.

Relaxing now with a takeaway and a beer.

Paintyourbox Sat 22-Sep-12 21:47:53

Karbea your princess Anne comment made me laugh!

I stink of Olbas Oil- bet K.Middy is more of a Chanel kinda girl. Ah well!

Can't believe we have already done a week, even though I have this awful cold I have to say that I do look better than I did at the start. My skin looks lovely and clear and well hydrated and I am definitely seeing the results of body moisturising every day.

Fruit and veg intake could be better- and can I warn you all of the laxative effects of raisins. blush

Karbea Sat 22-Sep-12 23:17:11

I had a camomile tea first thing, then I wore a hair treatment, body brushed, scrubbed, plucked my eyebrows, epilated, body moisturised and wore the serum under my face moisturiser.
Then went out and drank a bottle of wine at lunch with my dh sad

My skin feels dreadful tho after my facial yesterday, spotty beyond belief!

Karbea Sat 22-Sep-12 23:19:04

Oh and I had muesli for breakfast, and later an apple and two tangerines, but the had veggie pasta for lunch and then Chinese takeaway tonight sad

Karbea Sat 22-Sep-12 23:20:06

Oh and took off my nail hand/feet varnish, but haven't repainted sad

Paintyourbox Sun 23-Sep-12 12:19:18

Day 93

Wishing our colds would vanish! Today is going to be a very quiet day.

Had yummy porridge for breakfast, vitamins and cod liver oil done, on the water, flossing done, moisturiser and anti-ageing cream done, eye cream done, hair oil done, hair removal done.

On the hit list later today are my toenails which need filed and repainted!

BookFairy Sun 23-Sep-12 19:17:25

I'm slacking a bit but I'm visiting family who have a weird hot water system so I'm waiting to shower and wash my hair! I've walked quite a lot today, moisturied my face, eye cream and my nails still look nice (read a great hint on here to alternate base coat with varnish and finish with top coat). I'm feeling horrible and bloated so I need to rectify that somehow?!

longjane Sun 23-Sep-12 20:06:51

right the shred started tomorrow

I have lovely soft hair after leave in oil stuff and some setting lotion ( tip from a thread on here) so full of body. Well it was until the rain got on it.

I cannot believe how much moisturizing works. If i am in hurry i do after the shower before even dried off .

Have walked the dog today but not too far as it was pissing down.

I can't believe how much better my skin looks , on face and décolletage .
Being a old more mature mum , I have quite a lot of sun damage on my skin , looking more peachy than before , so that's good .
Started the day with a lovely lie in ( 10 am . Never heard of ) then a lovely cooked brunch , grilled bacon , tomato , fried ( homegrown) egg and wholemeal toast , with a glass of OJ .
Nails are shaped and buffed .
Exfoliate and moisturise is now easy to do , vitamins ready to go .
Beautician tomorrow , to defuzz , legs , underarms bikini line and top lip , and eyelash tint .
Will make hair cut appointment for next week ( or the week after )
I WILL start excercise this week .
I will ( honestly )

MissBoPeep Sun 23-Sep-12 22:31:39

Total newcomer- what is a 100 day challenge, please?

HelgatheHairy Mon 24-Sep-12 08:24:23

Hi MissBo - the challenge is a challenge to spend 100 days doing those little things that we all mean to do but often don't get around to doing. So exfoliating, drinking 2 litres of water a day, body moisturising. The challenge started on 15th September and is running till 24th December but feel free to jump in any time. This is the "prep" thread

HelgatheHairy Mon 24-Sep-12 08:26:56

Link would help here

lurkingfromhome Mon 24-Sep-12 08:49:19

Terrible weekend. Got drunk both nights (I don't even drink ... well months can go by without me drinking), did not take make-up off before going to bed (I never do this), ate two bars of chocolate to ease the hangover, took no vitamins. No wonder I feel like a bag of shit today. Back on track now.

I do need some advice on healthy breakfasts. At the moment I'm eating fruit and a couple of Belvita biscuits but it's not really enough to see me through till lunchtime. I would love to eat porridge but I can't bear it. Any ideas for quick, filling, healthy things I can eat to supplement the fruit?

HelgatheHairy Mon 24-Sep-12 08:59:06

Day 92
So I haven't been here in a few days. I am still doing "stuff" though. More or less. The thing I'm finding the biggest challenge is the water, which I'm surprised by as I've never really had a problem with it before.

Yesterday we were going to the in-laws for lunch and I actually did my make up and dug out a nice top. The glittery flats I was wearing did prove very impractical for the beach but at least it was easy to get the sand out!

addictedisback Mon 24-Sep-12 11:48:46

We have horrendous colds here. Trying to do the challange whilst having a bunged up snotty nose plus 2 snotty slimy shoulders from 2 snotty bunged up grumpy children is no fun. I'm doing the basics but not much else.

A quick question on itchy heads, possibly dandruff. I used other shampoos for years with no problems, but 3 years ago when it was on offer started using head and shoulders but i have switched to TRESEmme recently. Every time I've switched in the past I get a really itchy head panic and go back to h&s. Someone told me recently that h&s creates problems and dandruff. So do I just ride it out and buy another bottle of TRESEmme when this has finished and see how itchy I am then (which will be about 4 weeks) or do I accept h&s is what I will have to use forever? What do I do?

addiicted I had an itchy scalp , and was advised it could be "product build up " and to either use the expensive shampoo they sell in the salon OR find a clear shampoo and use that . I'm using one made by Simple at the moment , it's as clear as water , might be worth a try .
I have nice hair free legs and other bits , Tinted black eyelashes and the next 2 appointments booked , ( early November , and just before Christmas )
Popped into Aldi , they have teeth whitening toothpaste for 99p , so I'm giving that a go .
Feeling good , luckily no colds here ( flu jab booked for next week though )

BookFairy Mon 24-Sep-12 12:27:36

addicted I have dermatitis (face and scalp) and was prescribed Dermax by a Dermatologist. It is available in Boots and has genuinely saved my scalp! In between I use shampoo for sore scalps either by Barefoot Botanicals or Lavera as they are free from chemicals etc. On phone so can't link but I buy from Lucy Rose online! I can link when home tomorrow night. I think h+s is harsh for sore scalps as it strips them and causes them to build up scabbiness - technical term grin

Paintyourbox Mon 24-Sep-12 13:01:08

Lurking how about eggs for breakfast? Quick to prepare and should help see you through until lunch. I also like to add yoghurt to my breakfasts as it fills me up longer I think.

Addicted we all have colds here, it's awful. Snotty and knackered!

Lavenderhoney Mon 24-Sep-12 16:20:06

Back on the princess wagon tonight. Back to exercising tomorrow plus must add some Pilates and swimming. I hate the gymsmile all ths exercise is the only thing that makes me do the body lotion etc stuff. Otherwise I just look at myself, am revolted! And reach for a b of chocolate and a baggy t shirtsmile

Well done all those keeping it upsmile

maristella Mon 24-Sep-12 16:31:50

Day 92 update:

Generally doing well, although I need to weigh myself. I went out on the weekend in jeans that I haven't been able to fit into since 2007!! Very pleased smile although I had to cover up a shocking muffin top.

I had loads of sleep over the weekend, which is why I didn't get the monster hangover I probably deserved.

Onwards and upwards, have handfuls of salad leaves to go with dinner, and I need to princess my feet! Hot, oily bath tonight smile

maristella Mon 24-Sep-12 16:34:43

Oh and I really think I'm coming down with a cold sad

addictedisback Mon 24-Sep-12 20:00:15

urgh, I just want to complain so please bear with me!

I feel like crap, my head hurts, my throat hurts and my nose hurts.
I have to do something tomorrow (ok dont have to, but not the point) I reallyl dont want to do, I feel sick and already teh angsiety is starting to creep in sad I fully expect to have a panic attack before 10.30 tomorrow. I'm fed uup and want to sleep but dd2 didnt sleep any more than 10 minutes at a time last night and dd1 was up every 2 hours so dh and I took turns healing with the girls. I'm shattered and dh has to drive miles (a 300 mile round trip) tomorrow is leaving at 7am and will be back at 9pm...ish, maybe, as long as the meeting finishes on time. Which it wont. So tonight I am dealing with the wake ups by myself and then dealing with the girls all day tomorrow and all evening. then on wednesday dh is doing a 200 mile round trip so its all me again. I'm exausted and I just want to cry and complain. Ive had ENOUGH and I DONT feel like a princess.

that is all.
Thankyou for letting me rant. I'm off to make an ice cream sunday and sit watching crap telly for the next hour.

addictedisback Mon 24-Sep-12 20:02:11

Have enjoyed catching up on what everyone has been up to.
Exercise wise, I have been in the zone. Did 5k fun run at weekend in 26 mins which was a good time for me. Also doing a 10k soon. Continuing to shred too.
Diet wise, I need to up my game still. Less stodge and more fruit. This hasn't been helped by being hit with the dreaded cold that's doing the rounds.
Nails are filed and painted. I am defuzzed. Have hair appointment next weekend. My birthday coming up and DH has booked lovely hotel back in my home town. And without kids in toe! So focusing on looking my best for this.
The big wardrobe clearout has helped me see what I have and what I need. Am trying to wear different outfits that make me feel good.

HelgatheHairy Tue 25-Sep-12 08:29:57

Not too bad a day yesterday. This rain sucks though. Actually remembered my vitamins. So just keeping it up today.

Need to paint toe nails today .
Remembered the hot lemon , forgot vitamins though ( take them later )
Need to sort the extra fruit and veg though , really poor consumption over the last few days .

The clear shampoo is actually timotei pure not simple .
Can't remember who I suggested the clear shampoo to.

Late to the party as always, but have been enjoying following the thread, it's a good inspiration and a reminder of what needs doing. Keep forgetting to do anti-ageing eye cream (in spite of having a lovely Clarins daytime one and a L'Oreal night-time one in the cupboard.) Also usually too tired to put on cuticle oil at night, even though my nails really need it. I don't like the messy marks on my book/I-Pad! But am trying hard to take vitamins (multi-vit, evening primrose and Omega 3,6&9), shred (1st time last Wednesday, done it 5 times now, it's not getting any easier. Are you meant to do it every single day? I like the fact that its quick to do) and dry body-brush every other day pre-shower. Off to Boots later to buy face and body exfoliators, 3D toothpaste, razors any try the new Clinique dark circles serum. Anyone tried it yet?

WhyIRayLiotta Tue 25-Sep-12 13:32:58

Hello all - hope you are feeling better addicted

I'm doing great with the vitamins / body brushing / moisturising / teeth whitening / nails and hair. My diet and exercise is crap though. In this horrible weather I just want to curl up and watch TV with a giant bar of chocolate! My hurt knee means exercise is out at the minute.

But I think my skin seems a bit better - and it's nice to always have smooth legs grin

Paintyourbox Wed 26-Sep-12 07:50:56

Day 90

Morning all! Had a lovely bath last night, exfoliated and moisturised afterwards, also did a nice face mask so feeling quite like a princess today!

Hoping we will get out for a proper walk as it seems to have stopped raining for now.

addictedisback Wed 26-Sep-12 07:58:14

Morning all, feeling much better today.
I'm about to do my hair and take dd1 to the hospital for an appointment then tomorrow I have one for dd2 too!

Hoping at some point I can update my blog!

Morning all , porridge with raspberries and honey for breakfast , haven't showered yet , as am planning on sloe gathering to make sloe gin for Christmas . < worried looks at pouring rain >
Have a day off today , to Princess Properly !
Hair oil , self pedicure and moisturise everywhere .
Off to take Vits and a nice strong coffee

Have Shredded, taken vits (I've started on Floradix Iron Tonic as well - it's utterly delicious), 3 x glasses of water and now eating All-Bran with skim milk & yoghurt. Why do I look about 95 then ha ha? Picked up some samples of the Clinique Even Better eye gel thing yesterday, I want to see if it's any good before committing £28 to a teeny-weeny tube - I've wasted so much money over the years on products that claim to work and then don't. Does anybody use the teeth-whitening system from the dentist that you do at home with the mouthguards and tubes of gel? I was one of my dentist's original guinea pigs 15 years ago and still do it now to top up (my natural tooth colour is a deep yellow). When I went to pick up some more tubes last week the dentist told me that the latest research shows that most of the lifting effect takes place in the first 2 hrs so no need to leave in overnight (excruciatingly painful on sensitive teeth) or all afternoon (meaning you can't answer the door or even speak on the phone). This is very good news! Hope everyone keeping well and not put off the challenge by this miserable weather.

BookFairy Wed 26-Sep-12 16:11:04

I'm back home now so I can get back to my moisturising routine. Epic failure on the exercise front today but I'm not stressing about it smile

Any recipes for homemade facemasks?

Lavenderhoney Wed 26-Sep-12 19:26:42

Getting very good at moisturising after a bath nowsmile and using toner. Must make up some more face oil put it in the bathroom where I have easy accesssmile

Used to allocate one night a week as beauty night-but been very slack for what feels like years. Spoke to very glam mum and daughter today -dd was about 14- and she said she got dd into a daily routine over the years after school to tidy bedroom, do homework, and some personal maintenance, ie check nails, hair, organise clothes... And I thought I might allocate a time everyday where I check nails, eyebrows, once a week defuzz etc, and once a week look a clothes and shoes to catch the scruffy stuff. Is it possible long term though?

Going to bed now, crap day coming up tomorrow.

issimma Wed 26-Sep-12 19:43:18

I am being so rubbish! Think I'm going to make a coffee herbal tea and work my way through your tips/beauty activities this evening.

I did buy some new clothes today (well, ordered them) and am sending DD to ILs tomorrow so I can get hair and maybe nails done - the local fancypants salon has bargain 'drop in on the day' rates, so will go if there are some tomorrow.

<boots self off MN and into bathroom>

issimma Wed 26-Sep-12 19:52:41

Um, what do you do with serum? Is it for day or night? confused Just found a v fancy sachet from Red magazine grin

NotNeeemo Wed 26-Sep-12 20:28:25

Doing ok so far but lacking with the exercise... Must try harderblush

Paintyourbox Wed 26-Sep-12 22:50:17

Oh the shame, tonights intake: Fish and chips, lots of chocolate and a gin and tonic. Well, I guess if the diet is going to slip.....

BookFairy Thu 27-Sep-12 00:06:09

I've had a lazy day and many chocolate biscuits. I blame Fox's! grin

addictedisback Thu 27-Sep-12 08:12:43

I've been quite bad recently! One thing I havent mentioned is i have cfs (commonly known as me) and this cold has thrown me back sad still onwards and upwards, I will pull out, I will get better and I will jump back on the waggon today! grin

HelgatheHairy Thu 27-Sep-12 08:17:31

Was really bad last night taking my make up off and my skin is suffering today. Need to improve.

Does homemade strawberry jam count as one of my 5 a day ?
Organic wholemeal toast and jam for breakfast , perhaps not what the plan calls for , but lovely anyway .
Exfoliate and moisturise is a routine now , and I always take off makeup at night , just need to remember the hand cream .
After sloe picking yesterday , my hands are a bit scratched and tingly , will apply savlon .
dashes downstairs to get Vits

issimma Thu 27-Sep-12 17:35:02

Much better princessing here today.
Hair - cut. Not 100% convinced it's Boden Helena, but it was a cheap walk-in-rate and better than it was! even though they ignored me when I asked not to lose too much length. Damn
Face- eye cream, hot cloth cleanser, Q10 pore refining moisturiser, lip gloss, mascara. Again, better than yesterday! Need to sort eyebrows.
Body - defuzzed as much as poss - a bit dangerous now the bump is 31 weeks. Used moisturiser on legs - a Sanctuary one. Can NOT abide the smell, but will use up.
Nails - toenails painted. Wanted to get a manicure, but no appts. DIY job later, perhaps.
Few glasses of water, pregnacare taken (I think), clean, vaguely on-trend clothes.
Lots of cake eaten too though...

BookFairy Thu 27-Sep-12 17:35:38

Doilook homemade strawberry jam sounds scrummy!

addicted it's not the same thing but I take medication that makes me tired 99% of the time. Being tired sucks and I don't have kids to run around after! Itake it all one day at a time. I had biscuits yesterday but none today - an improvement?! grin

Lavenderhoney Thu 27-Sep-12 19:22:51

Doilooklikeatourist, are you making sloe ginsmile ??

Have misplaced new day serum stuff for face. Think dd has it, but despite looking everywhere can't find it. Did moisturise after bath and attacked horrible hard feet. Need new foot thing, so will be out looking this weekend.

Have just discovered I have a cyst on my ovary that needs treating so not feeling very princessy as I hate taking medicine/ being sick. have got some evening primrose oil so plan to take one a day too. No shred today as want to slack off and read book/drink wine.

Hallo lavenderhoney yes, I am making sloe gin . I'm a domestic goddess wannabe , as well as a Princess !
We have a couple of fields , with hedgerows full of sloes ( for sloe gin ) and blackberries ( for crumble )
Went strawberry picking at a lovely pick your own , back in June . Nothing like jam , made from strawberries picked the day before .
Should I start a new thread ... The Domestic Princess and Her Larder.

HelgatheHairy Fri 28-Sep-12 09:03:41

day 88

Well not too bad yesterday. Took vitamins, exfoliated face and then applied a charcoals face mask. Might go for a bath tonight.

doilook if you do start that thread I want to know! Lived in the country all my life but apart from eating blackberries straight from the bush do nothing.

Karbea Fri 28-Sep-12 09:56:54

doilook I think it would be great to have a thread like that, I'm always looking to be a super princess housekeeper cook extrodinaire!

Yesterday I ate well, and did some running, swimming and a yoga class! Beauty stuff not doing too well, still haven't repainted my nails after taking off chipped paint last weekend :S

Domestic Princess
As well as starting that , I've moisturised , but not exfoliated , taken my Vits , challenged myself to drink 2 litres of water by lunchtime , had 2 pieces of fruit and veg soup .
I've even got a bit of make up on !

Paintyourbox Fri 28-Sep-12 16:15:52

Hope it's going well everyone!

Today has been a bit half-hearted for me as I held a Macmillan coffee morning so was busy serving tea and eating cakes

But I will be back on the princessing as of now! Off to get myself some water and more cake

BookFairy Fri 28-Sep-12 21:45:26

I've done quite well today: bikini wax, a walk, hair washed and oiled, fully moisturised, not too bad on the food front. I have the beginnings of a cold but I have yoga tomorrow and I'm going to park further away so I can get in another walk!

Lavenderhoney Sat 29-Sep-12 04:21:52

Well done paint, with your fundraising. My princessing goes off with dh here, and it's the weekend so less time. Am going to get my haircut next week. Also an trying to dress a bit more fashionably, not music festival goer which is my natural look.

AGeeksWife Sat 29-Sep-12 06:49:37

Day 87

I haven't been on this thread for a few days, have kept up with the face and body stuff but water, vits, diets etc has been lacking big style so need to get back on to that.

Annoyingly my skin has gone rubbish again and annoyingly I know it's because I've been tired and I absent mindedly touch it too much when I'm tired so only got myself to blame!

Will get back to all of it as I was feeling really good on it and don't want to slide back down too far.

Engelsemama Sat 29-Sep-12 10:05:52

Have been off the thread for a week recovering from hen weekend but had a really good few days. Gave myself a facial and some foot pampering last night in front of a good film, put some overnight conditioner balm in my hair before bed and have woken up feeling very princessy smile

also dragged myself to the beauty counters yesterday and got some advice for foundation. I'm usually too embarrassed about the state of my skin (mild acne, oily T-zone, blackheads all over my nose) to even speak to the made-up creatures who're manning the counters.

Finding exercise the hardest thing to stick to (though did go for a run on Thursday night)

I went to a Macmillan coffee morning ( and donated a cake and some cookies ) so a bit of cake overload yesterday .
Alcohol free Friday had too much alcohol Thursday though and in bed at 9-30 !
Feeling so much better today , moisturised , conditioned and awash with water . Must remember to paint my toe nails today .

Just tried Sanctuary Spa Salt Scrub for the first time - an instant hero product! Sooo lovely, gritty & oily - massage into dry skin everywhere then lie back in the bath & wallow.

Smells amazing & the slight layer of oil left on the skin is really comforting. Stand on a towel tho when you're applying - it can get messy.

I'm going to make this a twice-weekly treat.

BookFairy Sat 29-Sep-12 19:17:54

I'm keeping up with the beauty regime but really must exercise more and go to bed earlier! I'm going to start Shredding again tomorrow. I must be brave grin

I had a day off Shred yesterday but felt really good after doing it today. Be brave - you will never regret doing it, only not doing it.

I think it's Day 86
I'm finding the water drinking easy now , pouring a glass from the tap at least 8 times a day . Drank 2 glasses before lunch without even thinking about it .
Been sorting out house as big plumbing job starting tomorrow , so no time for make up , manicure or excersize .
Early night tonight to watch Downton Abbey

bessie26 Sun 30-Sep-12 21:21:33

I am very impressed by you all - I don't feel that I have improved my regular routine much other than by putting some cream on my hooves feet at night.

How are you managing to drink all that water doilook? I drink loads of water in the summer, but now it's cold I just want warm drinks. I have warm water in the morning, so I guess I should drink more of that - I used to drink loads of herbal tea, but went right off them while pg & still don't really like them (DD2 is 18m!)

I've been taking it steady with the exercise as I'm recovering from a running injury, but started a yoga class a couple of weeks ago & have restarted Shred (level 1, no weights), so with my very slow, short run that makes 3 exercise sessions a week. fx I'll be able to increase that soon, as I've eaten alot of homemade flapjack this weekend! grin

I don't know how I drink all the water bessie ( though I'm trying the gastric band hypnosis app , that also wants you to drink loads of water )

oopsiforgot Sun 30-Sep-12 22:11:22

Checking in briefly, just to say I'm doing ok with all the external stuff, creaming face, hands and feet, eyelash serum, teeth whitening but still needs to work on the water/5 a day/multivitamins/exercising. Must try harder this week!

oopsiforgot Sun 30-Sep-12 22:11:57

Also signed up for a glossybox, anyone any experience of it?

Lavenderhoney Mon 01-Oct-12 09:42:56

On shred 2 with weights nowsmile plus getting hair done, waxing etc this week. Went out without make up on and felt uncomfortable which is not like me. Arrrgh it's workingsmile then had blueberry muffin and latte so not so good. Really struggle with water drinking, I just forget.

BookFairy Mon 01-Oct-12 19:00:45

Day 85

I resisted cake at lunchtime! I've had a cold (my excuse for not restarting Shredding) but I have Yoga and night class tomorrow so I'll Shred on Wednesday. I was so unbelievably achy after my first go that I'm a bit worried about trying again! Ididn't think I was so unfit blush

longjane Mon 01-Oct-12 19:57:51

well had a weekend of chocolate and booze little excise and just resting

today back to dog walking drinking water and moisturizing
shred is still in packing but will be coming out soon when dog walking becomes easy

I really amazed still at the moisturizing of my body my skin feels so lovely

BookFairy Mon 01-Oct-12 20:12:55

What's a glossybox oops? smile

MsKayGee Mon 01-Oct-12 23:00:29

Just a quick check in, haven't been on this thread for a week. Doing well with food, exfoliating, moisturising and hair removal.

Not doing well with water intake and due to going back to work full time I'm struggling to get to the gym as much as usual.

I did a boudoir photoshoot last week blush. I had really gone for it the few weeks before with exercise, loads of water and cutting out bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and anything else that makes me feel bloated. The pics from the shoot are amazing, I look like a lingerie model, even if I do say so myself <preens> grin

oopsiforgot Mon 01-Oct-12 23:38:59

Book from what I can gather, glossybox is a subscription to a delivery of 5 different samples sized (I'm assuming they are decent sized samples) 'exclusive' beauty products, every month. I've looked at the last few months and it's everything from hair oils to false lashes to serums (which retail at >£100 for full size). Hope your feeling a bit better wink

HelgatheHairy Tue 02-Oct-12 10:17:38

Day 84

Hmm - I really need to get back on track better. Doing bits and pieces but nothing too good. Have decided to try the 5:2 diet and today is my first fast day so at least ill be drinking lots of water.

WhyIRayLiotta Tue 02-Oct-12 12:47:17

I am also in the 'must do better' camp. Had a bold weekend with wine and takeaway. I have kept up my body brushing / exfoliating. I think I have that down now - its routine - I don't even think about it.

Today I am going to take baby for a long walk in her pram and eat healthily.

addictedisback Tue 02-Oct-12 17:15:32

just to say still here!
still going, just very very busy!

I've had to tweak my list , as I just can't do it all.
1 . Always wear make up if I leave the house , and remove it properly .
2 . Exfoliate in the shower and moisturise all over .
3 . Make appointments for hair cuts and hair removal , also eyelash tint regularly , use hair oil every 2 weeks .
4 . Use cream on feet and hands ( and elbows ) and varnish nails .
5 . Eat more fruit and veg ( and less cheese ) .
6 . Drink more water and less alcohol .
7 . Remember to take multi vitamins .
8 . Go to bed earlier .

Paintyourbox Tue 02-Oct-12 21:59:15

Hi everyone,

Totally neglecting the challenge at the moment! Need to start afresh tomorrow with a new attitude as I am fed up at the mo!!

I've finally bitten the bullet and ordered the shred as apart from all the beauty stuff I have done nothing for over a week. I had a night out on Saturday and getting ready to go out was so depressing. Nothing looked right. I had to go out in boring old jeans and a baggy top, so I decided serious action was needed.

Paintyourbox Wed 03-Oct-12 09:12:58

Motherofnations big cheer about the shred!

I think I would need an ambulance to take me to hospital if I tried it!

Decent nights sleep here, porridge for breakfast. Now need to move myself out of bed and into the shower but very tempted to make the most of baby napping by sleeping myself

bessie26 Thu 04-Oct-12 08:12:35

Shred is fab. Did level 1 with weights last night & all seems ok this morning grin Did yoga on Tuesday, so am on a bit of a roll! Must try to do Shred again on Friday night.

I took a small bottle of water with me into work yesterday & managed to drink that, so will be doing that again today. Am also going to take some herbal tea bags in with me to try again.

Must make packed lunch now!

HelgatheHairy Thu 04-Oct-12 08:32:25

Day 82 (I think)

Princessing has ground to a halt due to arrival of period (am TTC) and having to spend 5 hours in a&e with my Dad last night. He had a GP appointment at 4.30 who discovered a rash all over his body, he didn't know what it was so sent us to a&e for blood tests. 5 hours later, after blood tests, they still aren't certain what it is and think its a side effect of a viral infection.

helga not a good day for you .

I'm doing OK , actually had someone say to me that I was looking good , what was I doing ?, I said I was just following this thing on the Internet , and trying to do all the obvious things that we all know we should be doing .

I think it's the cutting out of the midweek wine that's made a big difference .

Who'd have thought ?

BookFairy Thu 04-Oct-12 10:11:51

Hope your dad recovers soon Helga

I've twinged my sciatica and somehow injured my achilles heel/tendon. Footballer injury of choice I am reliably informed. Intruiging as I don't play any sports! I was even feeling brave enough for Shred sad

bessie I'm v impressed at the lack of achy- legs!

Good for you Dooilook smile I was told I 'look well' yesterday. I'd rather hear 'look fabulous' but I'll take it [ grin]

Lavenderhoney Thu 04-Oct-12 12:27:31

Hope your dad recovers soon helga. Did shred this morning and it was horrible, did try and step it up though. Am on l2- no breath to swear at gmsmile

Hair done today, but face a bit spotty! I never get spots, but have been drinking more water. Am going to try to cut out the wine during the week, after the weekend. Plus buy the six pack in six weeks gm and do that too.

Have realised that am concentrating more on me, and the housework is getting neglected somewhat... Still, I can do that to take my mind off a nice glass of wine once the dc are in bed...

addictedisback Thu 04-Oct-12 15:44:41

Good afternoon I tried out the sock bun again last night, it didnt work, I think I need more product. I'm going to blog about it (and finish all the other posts I've started but not yet finished) just as soon as I've sorted kids dinner, finished the ironing, folded all the washing, put all washing and ironing away, put dd1 to bed, settled dd2, made adults dinner and taken a moment to breathe before it all starts again...that'll be probably never then!

I have been eating cakes and buscuits today tho, I really need to jump back on the bandwagon and soon!

longjane Thu 04-Oct-12 16:02:19

so son broke boiler last night well it was broke anyways but he broke it good.

have got it fixed hopefully but not sure if the heating will work but we should be getting lovely hot water so after the dogs have gone home a bath will be had .

walked too long dog walks today so shred still in packing

addicted hope the you get the sock bun to work one day...
lavender you are more important that your house work..

book fairy hope you get better soon my spained ankles are nearly better so hope your injures do not take to long to heal.
helga sorry about your period coming just you wait till your DP/H sees you at Christmas
and hope your dad get better soon

BookFairy Thu 04-Oct-12 16:59:09

Thank you long smile I'm feeling run down, hormonal and virus-y so I'm probably just being a bit of a drama llama about the sciatica and achilles heel. Perhaps my body's way of keeping The Shred at bay? wink I've got Yoga this eve so I'll see how it goes.

addicted what is a sock bun?!

BookFairy Fri 05-Oct-12 22:15:55

Day 81

Eating cookies. No exercise. Epic fail!

Paintyourbox Fri 05-Oct-12 22:39:20

Massive fail here too! Lots of red wine, too much chocolate and brows like caterpillars!

bessie26 Fri 05-Oct-12 23:08:03

I did Shred again tonight [smug], then had a bath. Only 1 (large) glass of wine this eve, as have to be up far too early tomorrow to take DD2 swimming, so 6 squares of G&B to compensate!

HelgatheHairy Sat 06-Oct-12 09:31:02

day 80

Thanks for the good wishes. Dad is improving, rash still there though.

I think I mentioned earlier I'm trying the 5:2 diet. I have my 2 fast days done for this week and I'm surprised by how easy it is. I really don't find myself getting that hungry and I still have plenty of energy. Next week though I'm not going to have a fast day the day I do the weekly shopping!

On the exercise front, I'm just walking the dog at the moment. Yesterday DH and I decided to take him on this new woodland walk that I'd read about which was developed close to where we live. I thought it was going to be a nice amble through the woods, which it was for 5 minutes, then we ended up climbing a bloody mountain! I'm so unfit, had to take a few breaks. The woodland bit was lovely though, it had a stream running through it and everything.

Morning all !
Had plumbers in all week , we now have heating .
We also have furniture and clutter everywhere ....

But I have nice smooth skin ... And a few spots . I don't get spots , I'm too old !

Nice day here , so hoping to go out for a walk .

Glass of wine later , cutting down has been easier than I thought

I googled sock bun , lots of YouTube how to do videos .
My hairs too short though

NotNeeemo Sat 06-Oct-12 10:22:30

Massive fail here with moisturising and body brushingblush but have lost 2lb grin will try harder.

BookFairy Mon 08-Oct-12 10:53:28

Day 78 (I think)

Trying to get an exercise regime going as I'm doing quite well with the beauty side!

Paintyourbox Mon 08-Oct-12 20:50:14

I think it might be time to purchase The Shred, my mummy tummy is getting on my nerves!

Managed a 4 mile walk today, lots of water and did well with the fruit and veg too. Hoping that tonight I will get time to do a moisturising sesh.

bessie26 Mon 08-Oct-12 22:54:32

Shred is fab. I did it twice last week & felt very pleased with myself - might try Level two this week!

I did a very short run (still under physios orders), had a bath & moisurised my legs & arms (probably for the second time this year)

I can tell it's getting colder, my hands have started to get all dry - need to wrestle my rings off tonight & dig out my little white gloves for an overnight moisturising session!

BookFairy Tue 09-Oct-12 09:47:03

Day 77

I need to get cracking and step it up as I'm single and going to a wedding reception alone on Saturday!

Lavenderhoney Tue 09-Oct-12 20:05:22

Glad your dad improving helgasmile

Doitlikeatourist, I have spots! I never get spots! How do you get rid of them?

Have been doing shred and added the six pack as well. Plus plan to add some running at the gym. Started to imagine g is following me about giving me a kick, in her positive voice ' come on, just a minute to put on body lotion, think of being on the beach.. ' bathing suit shopping etc. offered her wine and she has gone nowsmile

Nails need repainting but otherwise doing ok, it's the water drinking for me, forget all the time. Am going to fill water bottle and carry it round with me, six glasses and drink it by the end of the day.

Paintyourbox Wed 10-Oct-12 16:37:21

Lavender witch hazel gel is amazing for spots! It shrinks them right down and reduces the redness.

I am really bored of fruit- I need to do something creative with it instead of endlessly eating apples and bananas. Any ideas?

My nails need doing- they are a total mess! And my DD has had an awful virus so I cancelled my hair appointment to stay home with her.

addictedisback Wed 10-Oct-12 16:43:34

just checking in so I dont loose you!

have 2 extreemly grumpy children so will be back later (probably tomorrow!)

bessie26 Wed 10-Oct-12 20:09:30

paint I've made a warm berry breakfast a couple of times & it's really yummy - pm me & I'll sent you the link on my blog.

Just done level 2 Shred. After doing lots of downward dogs yesterday at yoga. My arms may not work tomorrow!!

Bath is running - must remember to moisturise afterwards!

Am impressed with you all doing your nails - I sometimes buff mine with my lovely LD board, but CBA to paint them as they always chip immediately - do I just need to buy better polish? Any suggestions?

BookFairy Wed 10-Oct-12 21:39:28

bessie I read great nail painting advice on here: use a base coat, then 1 coat nail colour, then base coat, then 1 coat nail colour, then top coat. (I have a base/top coat in one). My nails only started chipping after 6/7 days! I only left each coat to dry for 15ish mins and did them in front of the telly smile

bessie26 Wed 10-Oct-12 22:00:51

but that's 1.25hrs of sitting around doing nothing! shock - I think I would rather go to bed early! grin

HelgatheHairy Thu 11-Oct-12 08:35:18

day75 (I think?)

Bit of a mixed bag really. Doing a bit more walking but having a severe outbreak of dermatitis on my face. Had been slacking off on the acv so made up a batch last night and am using it again.

Have decided to get a treadmill now they're half price in Argos, will still have to take the dog walking but now I can do couch to 5k.

Am a few pounds down after a good first week on 5:2 diet, on second week now and as hadn't planned very well finding it a bit tougher.

Body brushing isn't happening I admit, and I keep forgetting to moisturise. Everything else is a bit hit and miss.

gracelesslady Thu 11-Oct-12 10:37:13

Hello can I join in? I'm pretty good at beauty type stuff (make up every day, hair kept under control, could do better with body brushing/remembering to moisturise every day) but its the looking after myself in terms of food water and rest that I'm just rubbish at. I work nasty shifts and end up going for days on toast and coffee. I complain and whinge that I feel like shite all the time but I know I'd feel better if I ate better.

Kind of started yesterday - loads of fruit in the morning, humus and ryvitas and more fruit for lunch then veggie soup and more ryvitas for tea (I was at work hence limited variety!) but I did start the day with a proper coffee - I cannot stare down a 14 hour shift on lemon and hot water... And then I had a bottle of beer when I got home. Not perfect, but a bit of an improvement!

Anyway, need to scrutinise the list and work out what I need to do, but thanks for the inspiration xxxx

BookFairy Thu 11-Oct-12 12:02:36

Hi gracelesslady

I think we're all just figuring out what works for us and seeing how it goes smile

gracelesslady Thu 11-Oct-12 13:52:40

Thanks bookfairy - sounds like a plan! Xx

HelgatheHairy Thu 11-Oct-12 14:27:51

Hi graceless

Delighted to see people still jumping on board - especially as I seem to be sliding off!

WhyIRayLiotta Thu 11-Oct-12 19:06:18

I am sliding as well. It's my last week of maternity leave - so I've been naughty. Eating loads and having wine at night (cos won't be able to next week!)
My gym is beside work though - so when I get into a routine with my job / childcare etc I will start back at the gym.
I am keeping my nails nice and eating loads of vegetables covered in cheese sauce

gracelesslady Thu 11-Oct-12 21:04:20

Urm..... I'm sitting watching telly, having had a glass of wine (had to finish the bottle off or it would have been wasted and that's just wrong) and now I'm a third of the way down a tub of Ben and jerries. Can I start tomorrow???!!

longjane Fri 12-Oct-12 13:28:36

the eating right has not being going that well

I am walking about 3 hours a day with dogs but the shred is still in wrapping.

trying to keep up with moisturizing as i can feel it working i have got though 2 jars of stuff that i had had for ages . of course now i want to go out and buy lovely smelly moisturizing stuff but can afford to so now need to get some cheap stuff .

gracelesslady Fri 12-Oct-12 13:54:06

have been out for brekkie with my friend. ate a croissant the size of my head and 2 strong coffees. i am the queen of starting tomorrow.... anyway, have been to boots and bought some hair oil and have thought about the list....

1. 8 glasses of filtered water a day - just ordinary water will do me fine. have got a 750ml bottle that i'll aim to get through twice.
2. Exfoliate (everything...within reason)
3. Use teeth whitener - whitening toothpaste
4. Use anti-aging face cream - i use a BB cream. it's got factor 15 in it - d'you think that'll do??
5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands) - hands and feet are totally ignored. will do something about this. hand cream maybe?
6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream - not doing this. eyelash growth serum??!! really?!
7. The Shred / other intensive exercise - have got 2 tracy anderson dvd's that never see the light of day. will try to do one 4 times a week. I tried the Shred once and all i got was massive quads and sore knees. didn't lose a single pound or inch! hopefully that'll not be the case for the 100 day-ers on here.
8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day
9. Healthy breakfast daily
10. Use hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) - just got some!!
11. No alcohol during the week & no boozing it up on weekends - oh my dear and actual god.... confused really need to do this. how's everyone else fairing without wine in the evenings?
12. Take vitamins every day - am going to take a multivitamin, probiotic and flaxseed oil
13. Body brushing - really must do this. it makes such a difference to my skin when i do.
14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week - don't eat meat so it'll be the flaxseed oil capsules for me
15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM. - brilliant idea. just have to actually do it.
16. Regular hair removal - well i already epilate everything, just on an irregular basis. must do better....
17. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps. - gawd, there's so many to choose from. chocolate, crisps, cakes, biscuits, coffee, wine.... which one to pick?!
18. No more fizzy drinks - don't really drink them. could do with giving up coffee. don't know if i'd survive if i did. hmm
19. DAILY body moisturising
20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m. - not a pint of coffee???!!! shock Okay.... will give it a go....

Need to print out my list and stick it somewhere prominent. have the memory (and willpower) of a gnat

Finally moved on to Level 2 of Shred (have been doing level one 3-4 times pr week, for 3 weeks) - OMG it is a leap up! Found the walking press-up to plank thing in circuit one physically impossible. Will try again tomorrow though. Body brushing/exfoliating/vits/moisturising all going well. Cutting down alcohol, not so well. But trying to do 2 x 9pm bedtimes per midweek, so no wine on those nights. Started using St Moritz fake tan (£3 from Wilko's) - utterly brilliant, can't see how a £25 one could be any better!

bessie26 Fri 12-Oct-12 17:31:49

It's the squat thrust things that kill me notquite - hate them with a vengeance! Am impressed with how often you are doing it, I'm only managing once or twice a week.

grace try cutting down on the coffee first! I have a cup of warm water first thing in the morning, swiftly followed by a large mug of tea! grin

plaingirly Fri 12-Oct-12 19:07:25

I so need to do these things!

I don't do any beauty stuff. I need to lose weight and hate how I look and have pretty much given up on myself. I don't even moisturise!

I just need to get into a proper routine and I hope that if I start taking care of the beauty stuff I might be able to stick to a healthy diet and exercise plan just because I care more. And feel less like a monster!

I basically shower (everyday so it isn't like I am mucky) but that is it. Bit of face moisturiser, brush through hair and grab something dark and baggy to wear.

I have never had any idea about style or clothes or accessorising or anything.

BookFairy Fri 12-Oct-12 23:18:58

Hi plaingirly smile

Check out the lists of aims/good products/helpful tips that people have posted earlier in the thread for inspiration. Lots of us are just muddling through and seeing what works and what is feasible in everyday life. I keep checking into the thread as it helps me to stay motivated smile

HelgatheHairy Sat 13-Oct-12 09:39:35

day 73

Welcome girly. I think going through the list and seeing what up you want to do would be a good start. I find when I starts with the beauty routine I get motivated to watch what I eat and exercise more. (I'm on week 2 of the 5:2 diet and have ordered a treadmill! Still not braved the shred though!)

graceless I have a feeling you're going to fit right in. I decided instead of just cutting down I was going to give up wine for October and its going easier than expected.

bessie26 Sat 13-Oct-12 12:58:59

Has anyone heard of/tried this freeze face cream? I've not heard of it before, but am tempted by the "targeted" wrinkle cream, as then I can continue using my (much cheaper) cream on the rest of my face!

Hallo again .

Still haven't done any excercise , however I'm doing well on the water , no less alcohol and extra bits of veg .

Keep forgetting the multi Vits though !

Need a haircut , but didn't have time this week ( so I cut my own fringe oops ! )
Haven't eaten crisps or drunk any fizzy drinks , but I don't do that anyway .

Using up an ancient bottle of Nivea body lotion now , I might actually have to buy some new stuff soon !

Misssss Sat 13-Oct-12 19:36:43

<Creeps back into thread> I basically forgot about princessing for a couple of weeks there. Started working full time for the first time in ages and I've just been too exhausted to even contemplate dragging a body brush over my skin.

However I've just been to the shops and had a shock when I saw myself waddling towards a full length mirror. Immediately put down the fruit & nut and went and bought some hair oil, fruit and some bottles of water.

I seriously need to do something about my weight too - I've just called a Cambridge diet lady and I'm going to see her this afternoon. edit been to see the diet woman. My scales are broken and I actually weigh much more than I thought. Hell!

I think this week I'm going to focus on my hair. I went on a date on Tuesday and had to put on a wig (a good one!) because my hair looked rubbish. I've just seen Taken 2 and like the idea of a hair do like Famke Jannsen's. Will need hair extensions to achieve but hopefully won't take much "doing" if I get the cut right.

NotQuite My Sil uses the St Moritz stuff and loves it. She keeps a mini stockpile of it incase they ever discontinue.

gracelesslady Sat 13-Oct-12 21:01:06

Helga, thanks. And hi everyone smile

Moisturised all over today, and did usual hair n make up but apart from
that, no princessing has occurred. Might go and take my vitamins just so I feel like I'm doing something!!!

gracelesslady Sat 13-Oct-12 21:15:48

Oooh Bessie, sorry am on phone and its hard to see everything! I really so badly need to cut down. I drink about 3 cups of proper coffee every day and nightshifts apart, a decent glass of red wine every night. It's no good. I keep getting anaemic cos of the rubbish food (diet based mainly on toast) and red wine and coffee both have things in which inhibit your absorption of iron in your diet. But I'm knackered and my sleep pattern (ha! What sleep pattern?!) is shot due to the shifts, so the coffee wakes me up and the wine helps me sleep.... Totally rubbish situation. Need to take control!! I'm going to get some half caf and start there. And you're probably right. Cold turkey on the booze (drank the last of the bottle last night wink)

addictedisback Sun 14-Oct-12 10:46:26

hello! hopefully I am back (fx) I've been pretty crap with the water and vitimins and crashed hard (cfs) but I'm on my way back up now (fx)

has anyone got any tips fpr non pealing nail polish? I bought revlon 5 in 1 top and base coat (I thought after a reccommendation on here) but it peals off and chips really easily? is that a sign I just need to keep going as I have very weak nails? or is it just crap?

addictedisback Sun 14-Oct-12 10:48:28

blush just realiesd i'm sat here eating my was through a pack of tesco bacon and egg sweets, not doing so well on the staying away from unnecessary sugar!

BookFairy Sun 14-Oct-12 13:08:48

Bacon and egg sweets?! Didn't know such thing existed!

I went to a wedding last night and was on the dancefloor for over 3 hours, so I feel that makes up for my lack of Shredding. Even washed my face before I went to bed <smug> though I'm not sure going to bed after 3am is great for my body...

Hi addicted I'm a peeler too and have started using a base/top coat duo by SpaRitual that is free from formaldehyde. It's working well for me smile I've linked to the website I buy it from:

gracelesslady Sun 14-Oct-12 21:05:30

Evening all

Bit of a Ta-Da!! for me:

I have exfoliated and moisturised all over, drunk quite a lot of water, taken my vitamins, been for a run and done the abs section of Tracy Andersons mat workout. Used my new hair oil and have also epilated one leg. I realise it's a bit arbitrary to only do one leg but I got interrupted by the kids and I do plan to do the other one...

I have had NO wine and only 2 cups of coffee. Hurrah smile

How's everyone else getting on? Xx

Too much wine & chocolate over the weekend as usual ho hum - but plenty of water, fruit & veg, some fresh air & shred. Going to a party on Sat where there'll be lots of people I haven't seen in years (decades, even) so really want to look my best. A week of early nights, shred & water, water everywhere for me! Good luck everyone on the princessing this week, let's really concentrate on results xx

gracelesslady Mon 15-Oct-12 09:44:02

Excellent plan notquite. It's lovely having a party (or wedding or whatever) to look forward to. Xx

Thanks graceless but not really looking forward to it! Will be full of shiny rich people giving me the once up & down and thinking "well, you can tell she's a SAHM". Of course , this could just be my paranoia hmm Oh well it's a good incentive to keep healthy & fit this week smile xxx

gracelesslady Mon 15-Oct-12 17:05:54

Oh honey!! Don't feel bad! What are you wearing? Xxx

gracelesslady Mon 15-Oct-12 17:13:17

As in, wearing to the party, not wearing right now... blush xx

BookFairy Mon 15-Oct-12 18:37:45

I'm sure that won't be the case NotQuitePerfect I went to a wedding on my own on Saturday. I was seriously worried that everyone would be in a couple and looking pityingly (sp?) at me, but I got on the dancefloor and had a cracking night! I'm sure you'll look gorgeous and have a great time smile

Well, I'm not buying anything new (the hotel alone is costing £160 for the night, and we have to stay where the party is being held, long story!) so I guess it's going to be an old faithful.

I've got a very simple shift dress in gunmetal grey with actual gunmetal studs down the front _ I know it sounds appalling, but it's quite nice, from M&S Autograph about 3 years ago. It hides my upper arms and shows off my legs, just a bit worried about looking Mutton.

The only other alternative is a fairly basic tunic type dress (Next, 2 years ago) with a tiny leopard print, long sleeves, quite figure hugging tho so pants of steel required underneath!

Matt black tights/matt black heels/matt black evening bag.

Basically I hate smart dressing, my comfort zone is skinnies/Uggs/cotton or cashmere tee or sweater/Joules gilet or Barbour. I walk a bit like Dick Emery in heels, but should be ok for one night. Wish me luck! xxx

Thanks so much for positive encouragement BookFairy! Glad you enjoyed your night on Saturday.

Not looking forward to meeting up with former colleagues (of which there will be plenty - it's hubby's colleague's b/day party, and we used to work in the same business).

Don't regret for one moment my decision to pack it in to raise kids be Stepford Wife but always feel a slight edge of pity/contempt from those who chose to combine career/motherhood.

Probably all inside my own head sad, so hope I have as good a time as you did! wink

gracelesslady Mon 15-Oct-12 21:05:16

Notquite, society's attitude to sahm's actually boils my blood. I would surrender organs to be able to stay at home and look after my babies. My best friend is lucky enough to be able to do that and I am green with envy. And also furious with the grief she gets from people (randoms like the window cleaner and postman, mutual friends, even a tiny bit from her husband) about "how long she's taking off work" and "when is she going to get a job"

It makes her feel guilty even though she's happy with her decision, and it makes me yearn for a society where it's ok for me to look after my own children instead of only getting financial reward and credit for paying someone else to look after my children so I can get paid to look after other people's.

I'm sure you'll look beautiful in whichever dress you wear, if you have loads to drink and dance all night you won't notice/care what people think and actually they're probably all involuting with jealousy because they want what you have (or is that only me??!)

Sorry if the rant wasn't helpful. I hope you have a fab watery/shred-ey/getting ready week and a fab time at the do xx

addictedisback Tue 16-Oct-12 15:09:18

grace I feel incredibly guilty for bein g a sahm! when people ask what I do I get all stuttery and say ummm, welll, I have my owm business (technically I do, but on the back burner while both dc are still babies!)

not quite both thoes outfits sound lovely. have fun x

Grace I could have written your post myself, so much do I agree with your sentiments! What makes me really cross is when a father takes a career break to be at home with children he is immediately put upon a pedestal for being such an incredibly selfless, caring parent!! Grrrr!! angry

No mother should ever be made to feel guilty for the choices she makes - every family situation is different and we all have slightly different values & aspirations as well as practical considerations. What we all have in common is a desire to do our very best for our families ( and why do we need to justify our choices to anyone outside our immediate nuclear family, anyway?? )

Ok rant over, but thanks for your lovely post Grace!

Addicted thanks for your kind comment too smile - I'll be on here on Sunday morning to post how it went! Never, ever feel guilty for being a SAHM xxxx

Ps. How's everyone doing with the challenge this week?

BookFairy Tue 16-Oct-12 22:29:46

NotQuitePerfect wear the dress you will be most comfy in as then you will feel most relaxed and confident smile

I'm drinking a lot of water, taking a daily multi vitamin, trying to improve my diet, moisturising, using hair oil and giving my hair a weekly conditioning treatment. Exercise is my achilles heel! I just started working at an FE college and can use the gym for free/go to subsidised classes, so I'm going to get cracking on that after half term. Even better is the training beauty salon with £3 manicures!

Ooooh I loved being a stay at home with the children type Mum . I felt very lucky and broke most of the time Luckily I'm a bit dense and didn't realise if anyone was looking down at me . I thought they were envious !
Anyway , back to the challenge .
I remembered my Vits , water and the extra fruit and veg .
Loving the moisturised skin , hands are soft .
I have hand cream in the kitchen , and put some on when stacking dishwasher or doing housework in my Marigolds .
Need to do my toenails , again !
Not much luck with the early night , but have sky plussed Great British bake off , and watching it now , so maybe tomorrow .

BookFairy Thu 18-Oct-12 10:30:26

Day 68

Morning all! Today I'll attempt to Shred and have my Yoga class later. Nails are a bit of a mess so I will at least take off the chipped varnish!

Hi BookFairy - good luck with Shred, I find it's definitely getting easier. Am on level 2 now, think I've done about 18 sessions in total (over 4 weeks!) and it is really satisfying to find that the unachievable is becoming almost achievable. Still feel like I need an iron lung and a wheelchair at the end of it though.

Vits and water - tick. Cuticle oil/body brushing/al over moisturising - tick. Early nights - not properly ticked.

Got the girls round tonight for tapas/red wine/gossip so know that tonight will be neither early, or sober. Whoops. Better make up for it tomorrow!

ellargh Thu 18-Oct-12 11:42:57

I'm trimmed and shaved, my eyebrows only have one or two stray hairs that need sorting later, I'm moisturised and make up free for the moment, I've used argan oil on my hair and plan to get it coloured and trimmed asap & I've exfoliated.

Today is the water challenge. I didn't eat breakfast but aim to have a healthy tuna baked potato for lunch and drink lots of water all day. I also need to sort out a manicure and pedicure as my nails are electric blue and awfully chipped.

addictedisback Thu 18-Oct-12 12:43:03

I had my hair cut and restyled this morning, it looks really nice and great to be a manageable length again! (it was below boob length now it back to sholder length)

I was about to put some revlon 5 in 1 on my nails, but both children are awake again! so that may have to wait till later. I'm not doing too bad with the water but I do need to drink more. Ive had vitimins this morning. and I'm currently using elemis SOS repair moisturiser on my face (bad case of achne recently, I think it has something to do with the packs of sweets I've been munching through blush I MUST stop!)

Feeling goo today and I have a very promicing house viewing tomorrow grin things are looking up

ellargh Thu 18-Oct-12 13:08:57

I'm not doing too badly with the water and just made chicken in white sauce with rice for lunch. It was from a tin (not the rice) but is around 400 calories so I can cope with that as I still have calories for dinner to come under 1300

ellargh Thu 18-Oct-12 13:16:29

I'm going to convince DP to go jogging tonight so I can do my first shred. I'm fed up of feeling crap about myself. I'm overweight and although it's evenly distributed it just means I'm fat all over.

What I need is a kick up the bum. I love to look good as it makes me feel good so I'm good with make up and hair (a lot of the time I just choose from my selection of wigs) but I really fall short on the food is fuel and eating well trail.

I've decided that if my diet is good until next Wednesday I will treat myself to a Starbucks spiced pumpkin latte when window shopping on my girlie afternoon and possibly a new scented candle and Lush bath melt. I don't have a lot of money after bills and household stuff but when I do get a spare tenner it usually goes on things to help me feel better about myself. Is that shallow?

Themilkybarisonme Thu 18-Oct-12 13:22:39

Not shallow at all! That's how you keep it up rather than getting miserable and splurging.

ellargh Thu 18-Oct-12 13:29:49

DP gets the same and we alternate months. He cango to the pub and play cards and I get a nice scented bubble bath with a good crime novel smile

ella I agree with milkybars - not shallow at all. We all need pick-me-ups and if they are not food/nicotine/alcohol based then so much the better. Scented candles are my weakness too, appalled to read on another MN thread that some people think they're tacky shock. Which ones do you like?

If you like crime novels, try The Evil Girls (can't remember the author but Amazon will know, it's quite new in paperback). Gripping and very believable.

longjane Thu 18-Oct-12 19:15:48

ok well the shred came out of it packing
but the DVD player did not work
while walking the dogs and avoiding a muddy puddle I walked into the bough of tree. and have lovely scabs on my forehead and nose .So I have not moisturized my face.
done the water the pills and moisturized of the body
I am sitting having a nice glass of coke cola .
If the DVD player is broke it will have to go on the "to fixed list" after the boiler and the washing machine!

Paintyourbox Fri 19-Oct-12 09:03:45

Day 67

I am alive- it's been a bit manic here as I have had my sis and her DP staying so we've been out and about a lot! Terrible terrible diet week- full fat coke, lots of tea and homemade pavlova/a

Paintyourbox Fri 19-Oct-12 09:06:59

Pressed the button too soon (damn phone!)

Today it's back to normality and I have decided to make a bit pot of minestrone soup for our lunches over the weekend which should save on a cake splurge.

Also going to cut back my alcohol intake next week as have several wines each night this week.

Still doing well with the walking, vitamins and skincare stuff though- has anyone properly got into the habit of body brushing?! Mine is looking sad in a corner of the bathroom (the brush that is, not my body!!)

ellargh Fri 19-Oct-12 11:35:04

NotQuitePerfect, I'm a fan of Yankee Candles with sweet scents like vanilla cupcake, cherries on snow and Christmas cookie.

BookFairy Fri 19-Oct-12 12:24:06

Hi Paint, I've got into the habit of using my body brush just before I get in the shower. I find it boring and I'm not sure if it does anything but I make myself do it anyway!

naturelover Fri 19-Oct-12 14:12:05

I hope you don't mind me posting. I'm not strictly speaking doing the 100-day challenge although I've done two of the previous "princess" threads and managed to keep some of the good habits!

I recently gave up coffee to see if it was upsetting my blood sugar. I also gave up dark chocolate (contains lots of caffeine). It was hard for the first 48 hours but I have to say I feel better for it and no longer crave either. I was definitely a bit addicted to dark chocolate. I only used to drink one strong coffee a day but I can feel the difference. Anyway, I have lost 2kg by giving them up over the course of a couple of months! Just wanted to share the anecdote. My blood sugar is definitely less erratic (my initial motivation was to try and reduce my PMS symptoms) and I just feel overall better.

My other "trick" was to try and make sure I had more veg in my diet by adding some fruit and veg at every meal (no veg at breakfast though!) - I think this has probably helped with the weight loss too. I now plan my meals with the veg as a starting point and try to see the rest as an addition to the veg. It has definitely contributed to me eating less carbs and meat. I was 100% motivated by health/good skin/energy and NOT weight loss as I already have a healthy BMI, but losing 2kg is not unwelcome!

Good luck to you all!

gracelesslady Fri 19-Oct-12 14:51:08

Hello! Have been at work for the last 2 days: lots of coffee, diet consisting mostly of biscuits (although did have some hummus and carrots yesterday prior to the biscuits...) BUT I haven't had any wine since last Saturday which is bloody marvellous. And I dealt with my
mini tash last night. The rest of me is a bit urgh as have failed on the body brushing moisturising hair oiling bit, but no wine is a massive achievement. And the coffee's been half-caf. Am
a long way from princess-dom but I think my liver will be happier.

I like scented candles. Vanilla ones are lush. Does this make me common?!

Paintyourbox Fri 19-Oct-12 22:05:53

Uh-oh, just finished a large glass of wine and a coke. Dinner was stir-fry though so quite good!

Made the giant pot of Minestrone, can't wait to tuck into it tomorrow!

Have done my nails and am being very careful as I type so I don't smudge!

bessie26 Sun 21-Oct-12 09:13:13

Morning ladies! DD2 has been up on & off since 430 - I feel awful!

I saw this on Groupon this morning - does it look good? I've never used hair oil before - should I?

Lavenderhoney Sun 21-Oct-12 19:01:48

I'm a sahm too with a company on the back burnersmile sorry ladies been lurking as not doing too well. Got to l3 of shred after managing the other levels easily after a bit and it was awful- cant do it, plus it seems all strength and I need cardio. Bought the 6 pack in 6 weeks instead so need to get that going.

Have been mostly doing the other stuff- only one coffe a day then water only. It's been fine. No snacks or chocolate plus halving portion sizes. Kids keep nicking my lettuce!

The big thing now for me will be giving up alcohol - didn't realise I was so reliant on my glass of winesad Also I need a new hobby to keep my mind occupied evenings. Was thinking of researching our famiy tree. Wha do you thnk? I hate watching tv, and read too much - knitting etc leaves me cold.

Paintyourbox Mon 22-Oct-12 07:58:15

Day 64

Really not feeling like a princess as DD was up every 2 hours last night to feed.

Determined to carry on- bought myself some really nice lemon and ginger tea as I was missing hot drinks and its really yummy. Four mile walk this morning and going to start researching exercise classes in the evening!

BookFairy Mon 22-Oct-12 11:18:08

Ooof Paint you must be tired!

I feel grumpy and miserable. Cold and drizzley here. I ought to force myself out for a walk (off work due to half term) but so far all I've done is wrap myself in a blanket and put This Morning on!

On the plus side: my skin feels great from moisturing daily and paying attention to my fluid intake; I've been taking vitamins and have not picked up any of the grim colds doing the rounds; my hair feels lovely and soft; and my nails are always painted, even if it's just with clear polish.

WhyIRayLiotta Mon 22-Oct-12 11:21:54

Hi just checking in. I'm back to work after a year of mat leave so not had as much spare time. I do think that my skin is looking better. I've been oil cleansing / using serum / eye cream and night cream. I've no spots and think my pores are less obvious smile

I also bought a shampoo bar and conditioner from lush - it was recommended on another thread for hair that gets greasy quickly. Only 1 wash in but my hair is shiny and soft. (I just hope I can now go a day without needing to wash it!)

The diet and exercise part is crap. But now I'm back at work there'll be hopefully no snacking.

Paintyourbox Mon 22-Oct-12 18:21:57

Oooh WhyIRayLiotta please let me know how you get on with the shampoo bar- my hair needs washed every day as its greasy but now it's all falling out post-pregnancy I am trying to was it less to preserve what I do have!

I am grumpy and I've got a terrible headache! But I have walked nearly 5 miles today which is pretty good!

Morning ladies! How are we all doing?

Ashamed to say I'd fallen off the wagon a bit blush after the Big Party I was dreading on Saturday ( which of course, proved to be nothing to worry about at all, had an ok time and even thought I managed to hold my own style wise if I can say that without sounding like I'm too up myself! )

But a late boozy night lead to huge carb intake & no exercise on Sunday & yesterday not much better as old friend came to visit and we ate cakes/biscuits & drank coffee for 4 HOURS! (half term here) grin

Back in training today - going to Shred in a minute followed by full body-brush, exfoliation, hair pack, deep body moisturiser, facial oil blah blah blah. At least 10 glasses of water today and NO processed food hmm

Welcome back Paint. BookFairy I love the sound of your cosy blanket/This Morning session! Xxx

HelgatheHairy Tue 23-Oct-12 10:09:28

day 63

I feel like an intruder I haven't been here in so long. I just seem to have lost my mojo completely. The only thing I've really kept up is exercise. Because of the dog I'm walking about an hour a day. That combined with the 5:2 day diet I've lost 7 pounds in the last 3 weeks.

Had given up alcohol but after a very annoying dog walk Sunday evening DH and I had 2 glasses each. At least my second glass was had in the bath so there is still some (very minor) princessing going on.

Hi Helga. Sooo impressed with your weight loss, well done!

I'm not brave enough for the 5:2 diet so just generally trying to avoid processed, sugary, fatty foods.

It gets harder as you get older and I have a very small frame which means that even 3lbs (on, or off) can make the difference between something fitting nicely or making me look like a badly-filled sausage.

Onwards and upwards - Shredded even though I couldn't find my trainers. Still only on Level 2 tho - ho hum [sceptical].

Ha ha sorry that should been this hmm !

Lavenderhoney Tue 23-Oct-12 18:18:42

Notquite, sounds lovely at your partysmile
Helga, I am small and if I put weight on, like now, I look very plump. My taller friends carry it better. I have a confidence problem with dressing as I am bigger as I am used to being slimmer so I can't bear my mummy tummy. Used to fall off when I was younger, now it feels like it will be around forever and I should look for old lady clothes.

Been doing well with no drinking alcohol - 3 days now- and need to wax my legs, do nails. Does anyone have a weekly routine they could share???smile

oopsiforgot Tue 23-Oct-12 20:07:14

Hello everyone! Totally (broke my nails) fallen off the beauty band wagon! Climbing back on as I had a work do last weekend and (shocker!) wasn't feeling at all princessy! So heading for a bath tonight, which is the 1 part of my plan I've actually stuck to! Hope everyone else doing better than me, I shall catch up properly when I get my early night after the bath wink

Paintyourbox Tue 23-Oct-12 22:24:04

Oh dear lord I saw my hips at an unflattering ankle while getting changed today- I have serious cellulite!! cursing pregnancy as I never had cellulite before baby can anyone suggest some sort of cellulite melting miracle cream?!

I have managed to stick to just two cups of tea per day, I am actually sleeping better thanks to the reduced caffeine intake. And I have once again knocked the fizzy juice habit on the head and feeling less bloated!

Quite proud that I have stuck to my skincare routine. My legs however are a bit yeti like....

gracelesslady Wed 24-Oct-12 21:12:33

Oh my word how shite am I at being a princess??! To be fair, princesses don't work nights and then have to go straight onto days. I feel rotten. And am having a (little) bottle of beer and a (big) bag of strawberry Bon bons.

Good things: I did my roots a few days ago; I haven't had any wine for weeks; I'm trying to drink more water; I dyed my eyelashes last weekend. I'm sort of exfoliating (does using one of those scratchy shower mitts count?) and using moisturiser all over. I think I've taken my vitamins most days but I'm all confused from the nights!

Notquite, I'm glad your party was good, and helga nice to see you! Sorry to everyone else - I'm on my phone and can't see further up the page. Lets keep going!! Someone was asking about a beauty routine thingie - I'd love one too

Paintyourbox Thu 25-Oct-12 10:41:57

Awww graceless sounds like you are having a rough time- hope it gets better soon.

Last night I managed to do my nails, moisturise all over and put on an overnight hair treatment. I can't help but think that the lack of sleep is undoing my good work however!

Going to start going to Zumba next week with my friend, we used to go twice a week before I got pg and we are quite good at motivating each other.

BookFairy Thu 25-Oct-12 14:52:53

Day 61

Sounds like everyone's doing quite well smile

I'm not doing too badly, though I'm getting through body moisturiser much quicker than ever before! Exercise is still my sticking point, though I have been walking a lot more.

Paint it's great that you have someone to motivate you - I'm a bit jealous! I'm going to set myself little goals so my aim for the next week is to only eat chocolate at the weekend and not let myself buy it during the week (can't give it up altogether as that would make me too miserable!).

Day 59 I think ...
Had a few glasses of wine last night , feeling quite rubbish this morning . Tired and legs feel heavy . I feel much better when NOT having alcohol . Hadn't actually realised the difference until now .
Managing the fruit and veg , lots of water, exfoliate ( scratchy mitt ) and moisturising .
Sorted out my make up , and bought some of the No 7 matching your skin foundation ( £6-95 )
Just need to do my toenails , as have 2 naked nails and 8 painted nails . Not a good look .

Lavenderhoney Sun 28-Oct-12 02:47:36

Am drinking water more now! Mainly because. Am on the treadmill running 5 k a day for 3 days running now. Just tell myself in 35 mins I can get off and that's it!

Feet are in a state, next job I will sort them out and wear pretty sandals not my Birkenstocks everywheresmile

Am wearing sparkly tiara at dds request about the house, so feeling quite princessy. Although not sure princesses eat jammy dodgers with pjs onsmile

BookFairy Tue 30-Oct-12 21:58:03

Day 56

I lost the thread and had to spend ages finding it !

How is everyone?

I started my new job so am getting a lot more exercise and have less time for snacking smile

Paintyourbox Wed 31-Oct-12 21:36:37

Day 55

I also lost the thread, oops....

I think I have a serious case of "winter". It's freezing cold, pitch dark and when I saw myself in the mirror today all I could think was "yuck"

Really hating having gigantic boobs while the rest of me is small. I had a thick wooly jumper on today and looked totally mumsy with my ill fitting maternity bra underneath.

I am managing to stick to things like moisturise and cleansing etc but DD is up every 2 hours in the night so inevitably I am reaching for fizzy drinks and chocolate to boost my energy levels.

How is everyone else holding up?

Bluergh. Not good.

Back tomorrow with renewed vigour! X

BookFairy Thu 01-Nov-12 23:01:13

Day 54

Awww Paint I have the opposite problem as I have really quite small boobs! The weather is terrible at the moment. I'm going for layers - long sleeved t shirts under dresses. I don't know how you manage getting up every 2 hours - clearly chocolate is a necessity smile

I'm wondering if I have mild SAD. I'm feeling a bit miserable/tired/lethargic/not keen on getting up or going out in the dark mornings or evenings. On the upside my skin is looking quite good and I'm remembering to take my multivitamin.

BookFairy Sat 03-Nov-12 19:01:54

Day 52

Reporting in. I'm not achieving everything but I'm becoming less self critical smile

HelgatheHairy Sat 03-Nov-12 21:35:12

My weight is the only thing that is going right. I've also done my first week of c25k. Feel good about doing it.

Well it's 5 days since I promised to go back on the wagon, during which I have done nothing but eat, drink & be merry. Late nights, too much wine, no exercise - disaster!

BUT - am keeping up with the vits, facial oil, body exfoliation, cuticle oil, fake tan (in moderation!) & water consumption.

Just shredded for the 1st time in 9 days - back to level 1 and it nearly killed me. Feel as weak as a kitten blush.

How's everyone else doing? X

Keep forgetting to wardrobe plan for the following day - going to try to make that this week's habit.

BookFairy Mon 05-Nov-12 21:56:56

Day 50

Good for you Helga! I'm making a conscious effort to walk more and am doing quite well with that.

NotQuitePerfect I'm the same - beauty regime and vitamins are a proper routine now but just when I start on the healthy eating wagon I'm thrown off it. No willpower blush grin

Sympathies, BookFairy! It's sooo hard to keep on the straight & narrow. But I think this thread helps in keeping focused.

Just 'shredded' again, still only level one but pleased at how much easier it was than last night. I'm always amazed at how quickly your body forgets, but then how quickly it remembers again.

Women are amazing!

WhyIRayLiotta Tue 06-Nov-12 10:11:27

Hello, wow didn't realise how long it was since I'd checked in blush

Things are a bit meh. Skin care routine going well, but exercise and diet a bit crap. I don't know why but since I've been breastfeeding I don't like fruit! I used to love the stuff for breakfast, dessert and snacks. Now yuck. I want chocolate and bread.

Being back at work my organisation skills are better so my clothes are ironed and ready the night before usually So that's a step in the right direction. Hope I can keep it up!

Also - I love the shampoo bar. I reckon it stretches my hair washing gap by about half a day... So if I wash it Monday night I can get Tues and Wednesday of decent non greaseball hair.

addictedisback Tue 06-Nov-12 10:16:59

checking in, I've not been very good at keeping up with the thread, or very good at keeping up with the challange!

vitimins are going well and most nights I remember my beauty regime. but we're moving house at the moment so alot of the other stuff has gone out the window. hopefully we will be moved in by december and I can jump back on teh wagon and keep going into the new year, I may have to start a new year challange!

Oh Lordy is it only 49 days to go !
Fell off the wagon and into a vat of fish and chips and cream tea as we went to Cornwall for half term .
Too much wine and not enough veg does not do me any good at all .
Back on the straight and narrow now , definetely need to up the fruit and veg and fibre . I did the fibre challenge ( channel 4 food hospital ) had to up fibre intake to 28 g a day , making sure to drink 2 litres of water .
I was amazed at how much healthier I felt , and I like feeling that way .
Toe nails polished , fingernails buffed and shaped , beautician yesterday , so fuzz free . Exfoliated and moisturised shame about the excercise

BookFairy Wed 07-Nov-12 23:17:23

Day 48

I have a stinker of a cold and have eaten 6 Cadbury's Caramel biscuits in one sitting sad

longjane Tue 13-Nov-12 16:16:24

i thought i had lost this thread so better post an update

yes i have some sort of sore throat which is why i have had coke and crisps for brunch. after walking 2 1/2 hours with dogs .
i have learn a lot about my body doing this challenge moisturizing everyday make you notice thing about your body that I would not normally bother with.
i think moisturizing one face also make a big difference to how you look did not used to bother cos up till i was 40 i had oily spoty skin and moisturizing just make it worst.

still not done the shred

dont think t he whiting toothpaste works but i am not doing anything more than to my teeth.

how is every one else doing ?

BookFairy Wed 14-Nov-12 00:04:12

I've got an ear infection sad I'm going to get back on the exercise wagon when I feel less tired/grotty!

Paintyourbox Wed 14-Nov-12 09:34:49

Poor Bookfairy ear infections are horrible- you need a rest!

I was very proud of myself for going on a huge walk yesterday but today have two massive blisters- ouch!

Anyone else sleeping better on less caffeine?

BookFairy Thu 15-Nov-12 21:46:14

Thank you Paint I'm feeling a lot better now - ear infection plus sinusitis was a horrible combination. You must've walked for a goodly while to get blisters <impressed> !

I'm trying to get back into the swing of things: I've had a bit of a sort through my clothes/make up. Now I'm not blowing my nose every 30 secs I've painted my nails nicely. I'm trying to look a bit more sophisticated and have started wearing my hair up (neatly) occasionally.

I think it's scary day 28
Well moisturised , that makes a frightening difference ! Skin feels lovely , and I've got rid of 2 bottles of body lotion that have been hanging round for ages .
Water going down nicely , i am alcohol free at least 3 nights a week , and drinking less wine than I used to at the weekend .
Toenails are a fetching turquoise at the moment . Am going gold tomorrow !
Haircut booked for Friday .
Swimming every day ( then jacuzzi as a reward )
How is everyone else ?

HelgatheHairy Tue 27-Nov-12 12:08:07

I'm very embarrassed by how long it has been since I checked in. And by the fact I don't have an update! Although I have lost 12 pounds, stopped drinking wine and had a haircut(which I don't really love, it's a bit too short, but it will grow).

Also walking about an hour a day with the puppy. So lots of fresh air.

Wow you're both doing well ladies!
Have fallen by the wayside somewhat, have had the mother of all colds last few days leaving me with skin like salami, eyes like full stops & a big red hooter. On the upside, have lost a pound or two.
Need to face the world today so heading for bathroom & body brush, moisturise, vits, water water everywhere, outfit planned.......
Ugh feel weak as a kitten sad
