Do new clothes make you itch?

I am terribly itchy today (& yesterday) - no idea why

Until DH said you were itchy when you had those new jeans too, is it your new knickers?

So new jeans make me itch but washed they are fine - so all the new knickers I bought are to be washed

But I really like putting new clothes on

Am I odd (well I know I am odd but does anyone else itch)?

Tbh, I think you are slightly odd to not wash new clothes before you wear them as a rule.
New does not mean clean. Think how long those garments would have been sat in a warehouse, stockroom and then on shop floor, with other people trying them on.

Really Silverymoon? I never considered it (well I did DD's newborn clothes & bedding)

Phew Besom, at least I'm not alone

I wonder how many people wash new clothes?

Am I the odd one then
I try clothes on nd then again at home, but always wash them before actually wearing them.
Well, what i actually do is leave the item/s in the bag in my bedroom and if it has not gone in the washing machine within a week then I return it to the shop because I couldn't have wanted it that badly if I haven't washed and worn it in a week.

I only wash them because they make me itch (which I presume is a reaction to some chemical they use). The thought of other people trying them doesn't bother me - unless it was obviously grubby or smelled or something.

Actually I have worn some new clothes without recently and it's been fine, so maybe I've become immune or something? Or it might just be that some clothes are OK and some aren't.

I think the chemicals they use to make thm retain their newly pressed look would irritate some skins. Personally I wouldn't worry about other people having tried the on, aslong as there were no obvious smells or stains. Just going out in public places your are exposed to other peoples germs, but it does depend on whether that kind os thing bothers you or not. I don't wash new clothes but I wouldn't think it was odd if anyone did
