Are there shoes which offer instep support?

I desperately need shoes that support my instep. In the past I only had problems when I wore flat shoes for too long and I would switch to heels. But now my insteps are really sore at the end of the day and I limp along - the only time I feel ok is when I wake in the morning. 4 /5 hours later I can really feel my feet nip.

I'm not allowed to wear trainers at work so am looking for pointers towards work shoes or shoes I can walk in that go with skirts etc.

Help me with my aching feet

I know clarks are boring... but their unstructured range are really comfy the insoles are removable, so u could add a supportive insole which you can get in boots.

I have worn these to death I am got them while I had swollen feet and a bad back whilst pregnant. HTH

Have you thought about orthotic insoles? I wear them inside normal shoes and boots, for sciatica rather than arch support as such, but that is what they do, support the arch. You sometimes find they make shoes to tight accross the top of the foot though, and are better with boots, or high cut shoes, as opposed to court style. Can you wear sandals? There are arch supporting styles around. Scholl do a range of different styles for different foot needs. As well as the inserts.

Orthotics are great....my physio recommended them....they really do help....They were about £40 for a pair but worth it

I have flat feet now after carrying around 2 big babies when PG and lugging them around til now.

Birkenstocks and fit-flops are great for arch support but not work shoes. I've also got some orthotics somewhere which were great.
