I need new tops. And treats

So dc2 is now 4 weeks. I was sick after he was born which sucked but had the dubious advantage of losing my pg weight. Therefore I deserve treats. Still the usual mummy tummy. Bit I have no clothes! I have lots of high summery short sleeves (ha ha)) and sweaters but nothing in between.

I am a 10 on the bottom and a 12 on top due to bf boobs. Tops would need to be suitable for bf but I have no aversion to hoiking tops up etc. I have dark hair and eyes and fair skin. Would like top suggestions especially. Don't iron and like natural fibres. budget is ok as have not bought clothes for ages. Online preferable at this stage as am still not 100%.

I could also use suggestions for cool bottoms as 2 kids in 2 years means the wardrobe is a bit out of date. I like skirts. Are black rats for the new mum excessive? Are tunic tops automatically mumsy?

Black rats are fine with longer tops

I'm on mat leave and generally live in skinny jeans as I am a v lazy dresser, with variety of tops. I think tunic tops are nice but a. hard to BF in and b. make you look pregnant

these are very flattering despite jeggingness, and these are nice for summer

this works well for BFing

as does this and plain jersey scoop neck t-shirts are good, as long as they are stretchy enough (try kew)

but I tend to wear a vest top under any top I like

oh just seen you like skirts er.. how about dress or dress with a leather jacket or a blazer ..am probably not being v helpful basically I find that you can buy normal clothes if you get jersey tops/dresses in scupp or v neck, or cotton clothes with a crossover front or a v neck, as you can still breastfeed

Oooh thanks!! Would you go with those jeggings or the rats, if you had to choose? I agree w you about tops, I just don't have any decent long sleeved ones and am not holding my breath for the summery ones

Roary - congratulations and sorry to hear you've been poorly.

You need to come back on the Avid thread - about a million links a day

sorry to hear you were unwell

so I think skinny jeans and black rats are the way to go. Also have you seen the RI skinny khaki bikers? I love them so much I blogged about them with plain tanks and a lightweight summer scarf, you can bf with ease (I should know, still going...) RI also have some lovely scarves, has to be said.

And never underestimate the transformative power of a dress! If someone could make into H&M for you, I got a t-shirt dress from there today, about £7.99 I think, in that cotton slubby material, button front, buttons come down quite low so boob access pas de probleme, cut higher at the front and back than sides, so flattering, loose shape so forgiving on post-dc tum, I bought to wear with Rats but having just tried on will deffo wear as dress too.

I'm not a fan of tunics .. makes me think of White Stuff/ Fat Face.. you know??

Second TB on the bretons, I've got one from Zara and also this which is very nice

Thanks ladies! Have had an exciting time ordering vin's jeggings and ruched top from jigsaw, plus a stripey top from Jigsaw too to continue the Breton theme. Tracey, hope to get to Zara soon, it's an easy trip from home. LTEC, glad you like th ename! We really struggled with boys' names, DD was much easier. No h and m in Oxford, sadly. And your views on tunics confirm mine! I'm very impressed that all of you keep in touch with the cool while being pregnant and having littlies. After almost 3 straight years now of pregnancy and breastfeeding I have stopped paying attention to regular clothes and am very excited about starting again.
