Cheap jeans for tall women?

I need an interim post-natal wardrobe whilst I'm trying to get rid of the...ahem...jelly belly. I don't want to spend a lot of cash as an incentive to start losing the weight. However I'm 5'11" - where can I get cheapish jeans with a 35/36" leg length please?

Top Shop tall jeans are 36". They are great - about £40.

IME there are no cheaper ones than this. The tall range in most other shops (New Look, Dorothy Perkins) is 32-34" which is no good for me.

I have picked up some brilliant French Connection ones in teh sale though, so may be worth looking at sale rails.

New Look do a Tall range with a 36 inside leg. I get mine from there as they're decent quality and not expensive either. If they don't stock Tall in a store near you it is deffo sold on the website

Next do a Tall range- I've had good jeans there for about £20-£25.

Crossposted there with CasaBevron- a Brookie fan perhaps?

Dorothy Perkins do a Tall range too.
I get all my jeans and trousers from there or New Look.

I'm the same as you. 6ft with 35 inch legs!
Don't you find it a pain in the arse that nearly everywhere will stock petite but very few stock Tall??

Next skinny jeans range are fantastic however - about £20. I find that I can get away with the long length in these (I am 6 foot), as I wear them with flats or under boots. They are a little short however this doesn't really matter with ballet flats I find. Of course this is no good if you are looking for bootcuts to wear with heels - they are still too short, the Next long legs.

Next skinnys very good also as in some styles the fabric is excellent, really firm but with a good stretch so useful if you want something flattering.

Also, if you are looking for jeggings, Asda have some great ones for a tenner. They are not the leggings material ones - they have some in really rigid fabric (in black and dark blue). They are a nightmare to get on - really stiff - however they are very flattering and really comfortable, a real bargain for £10.

I started a thread about this a few months ago= it makes me so cross that you can't buy long lengths in stores- usually have to mail order, and the choice is so limited.
I'm off to try and get an outfit for my 50th- I can guarantee I will come back with NOTHING and have to "make do."
I am sick of making do.
Come the revolution, all trousers will be 36 inch unhemmed.

New look tall range are great. Their jeans (used to be hula, now yes yes) are about £12 and I've had mine for ages! I'm 5' 10" and they are nice and long.

Weirdly not really, but have always thought those two should have had their own spin off show. Would have been so much better than the eternally depressing Damon and Debbie

Oh they must have lengtehned the New Look and Dorothy P ranges, mind you I haven't looked in there for jeans for years!

And I think the political parties should have a Tall manifesto.
(Gets off soap box having seen the time)

I get sick of all the rails and rails of clothes for shortarses, with very little (or no) tall range. I wish the clothes manufacturers would catch up - our population is getting taller after all. My 14 year old dd is 6 foot and still growing.

To be honest as annoying as the trouser situation is, I don't have that much hassle. However I a m very long bodies, so many tops come up short in the waist and in the arm. Long sleeve tops are so rarely long enough.

And don't get me started on Long Tall Sally - overpriced frumpy clothes. What a missed opportunity.

X posts Threeblondeboys.

ALL long sleeve tops look either shrunken or 3/4 length.

Loving the tall revolution! I agree - there's just as many of us tall women as there are petite women - just think of normal distribution curves. Wake up manufacturers.....Definite niche in the market for a LTS rival (LTS is crap and overpriced).

Wow - lots of responses, thanks. It sounds as though Next and New Look will come up with the goods. Will go and take a look now.

GetOrf, I have exactly your problem with the long body/arms and have found jack wills tops are great - super long including the arms! (pricey though, I stick to the sales)

Great thread, I'm nearly 6ft and have a ridiculously long bod and a huge arse as well, always makes jeans-buying a nightmare

GetOrf - yes, LTS are crap, they should be ashamed of themselves

Yes Msrine - Jack Wills are good, I steal borrow some of dd's tops, and they fit.

SO damn expensive though.

I will have a look again at Lew Look - 36" jeans for £12 sounds great!

Hey, go easy on LTS, they've got a fab denim Stella McCartney rip off skirt! A fair bit is frumpy though- I think they have to cover all their tall bases. I've found their clothes fairly decent quality and at least they are sized right for dresses unlike Topshop and DP tall.

Do you design for them wahwah?
I wish they'd dump the long a line skirts- and the styling in the brochure is appalling- things tucked in which shouldn't be,
I bought nice grey/white linen trousers this season- unstructured, and nice.
Am waiting for the matching waistcoat to go in the sale (it will!)
Their shoes are mainly plastic- yuk.

I'm actually nothing to do with them and I have no idea why I leap in to defend them!

Actually, if you pick well (and I completely agree about the styling and the dreadful skirts etc) you can find the odd great thing. I have had more compliments wearing their fitted dresses than I have dressed in more obviously fashionable separates from Zara etc, which surprised me, but I suppose when you think about it, tall women look great in dresses and heels (am 5' 10" but quite liked being 6'1" at work- never knowingly overlooked and all).

Actually, tall women look pretty good in anything. We are just fabulous, it's true!

Next. I have a 36" leg and I have the most wonderfully fitting pair of bootleg jeans that only cost £20. I can't recommend them enough. Make sure you look at 'Tall' though and not 'Long'.

Don't even get me on LTS.

Just thought I'd report back on the £12 New Look Jeans. They're great! Fabric is a little thin, but the cut is suprisingly flattering, and they have 2% elastene in which always helps.
