Anyone bought any nice skirts recently?

I'm looking for 2 or 3 summer skirts, ideally above the knee, practical and good quality and nicely cut. Not too mumsy though. Budget £50-£100 per skirt.

I was thinking that maybe I'd treat myself to:

  • a denim skirt
  • a floral/liberty print number and
  • something in a neutral colour

but after hunting across every website known to man and spending a fair bit of quality time in House of Fraser/John Lewis I am all awhirl and haven't seen anything to tickle my fancy.

Thought I'd turn to you Mumsnetters for inspiration so if you have any specific suggestions that would be much appreciated. Am desperate to shop...

Just found this skirt but I've never heard of Gabriella Knight before.

Has anyone else used them? What do you think of the skirt?

i am looking for a skirt that was in LOOK mag, i think, supposedly from boohoo.com (but it all looks cheap and nasty from there tbh ), is short and peachy and kind of layers of tulle...probably i am too old for it anyway

Thanks MrsVidic; that is bargainous and I shall bear it in mind but it doesn't grab me. I'd rather spend a bit more on something a bit more exciting but I don't know what that is!

Glad the skirt gets the thumbs up from you crumpette - I like the colour too. I may try it but wish that Gabriella Knight would show a picture of the whole skirt. Not quite sure whether it is knee length, straight or A-line etc. May just have to plump for it if I don't find anything else. I like the Jigsaw one and have ummed and aahed about it because it's silk but I think I'm going to try it on as it is so pretty.

More Googling has found me these skirts, whadya think:

interesting or a bit bleugh and difficult to wear?

getting into Mumsy Bodeny frump territory or pretty?

Mayornaze - I shall keep an eye out for a peachy tulle skirt on my travels and report back if I find one. Sure I have seen one somewhere but they are all blurring into one..

I like that Boden one - only in the white though.
I have to say, I think your original link is one of the frumpiest things I have ever seen - and how unbelieveably stupid of them not to show the whole skirt!!
