Need tops for BF in - possible to find something vaguely stylish?

I really need to buy some new clothes as I had a very limited maternity wardrobe - however at 2w postnatal I've hopped on the scales and realised that I have 2 stone to lose - aaarggh. So...I need reasonably cheap (as I am hoping to shed the weight!) tops that I can BF in but look OK. Anyone got any ideas please? No proper BF tops please - not my thing at all!

Do you prefer to flop a boob out over the top, in which case low cut stretchy tops/button downs/wrap style tops work well, or are you a pull-the-top up style girl, in which case the word is your shellfish? I would suggest going to Primark or similar cheapness, because your body & breasts will change about a billion times in the next 6 months, & it's not worth kitting out a whole new wardrobe. In my opinion.

I used to wear two tops of the same colour (black). I'd wear a vest top underneath but without the straps.
That way I could pull one up and attach baby without everyone seeing my belly hanging out.

I found wearing a vest under whatever top I was wearing ment I could pull tops up & vest down and remain rather modest. It did extend my wardrobe with very little cost - & I still wear all the vests today. I have oodles of different colours!

I posted similar on the breast and bottle feeding board....and the general consensus was to wear a vest under whatever top you fancied.

I'm getting the hang of it but am rather 'hot' some days....in a temperature way not sex appeal

I either wear a vest underneath a top, pull down vest and pull up top
or just wear one top that can easily be pulled down to get breasts out- discretion comes with time and lightweight scarves are handy to throw over shoulder if anyone pervs or disapproves. No need for special BF tops, I bought a few and only wore them once, made me look 8 months pregnant.. total waste of money

Yeap - double layer of tops is the way to go.

Get yourself to h&m or new look and just stock up on cheap vest tops/t-shirts with cardigan/scarves etc to add discretion.

I'm a top up feeder when out and about but top down at home so stretchy tops work best for me.

Sorry for slow response (I am always feeding at the moment which is why)!

Great idea about the two layers, and the scarves. I think I may splash out on some nice scarves, as I will still want to wear those when I look less like a whale (here's hoping).

I tried on some smock style kaftan-y tops the other day - ugh - definitely give me the 8 month pregnant look.
