I have finally given in. Wise ones I need your help. I have dry to combination skin. Really dry around my T zone. I also have red cheeks complete with big pores. I've tried creams but they sit on my face and feel heavy and I end up greasy and shiny. I use either no7 p&p serum or flash balm as well as moisturiser. I have about a 15 pound budget. I would love velvet soft skin. Please help me, my brain hurts from the choice/ sales assistants trying to sell me everything they can thank you very much for reading and helping.

Nivea or Astral. My skin is too dry to wear make up unless I use one of these- foundation just flakes- and I've tried lots of more expensive brands that aren't anywhere near as good.

I'm a beauty ed at a magazine - I'd recommend Oil of Olay .....they really are great brand. It could be that your cleasing routine is creating this combo skin type - try a crream wash off cleanser, this will remove excess oil but without striping your skin, Don't tone! and then use either a serum or a light moisturising cream. you might find a daily scrub or micro-dermabrasion treatment will help with your open pores and also get rid of dry flakes of skin.

Thank you very much for your replies. Oil of olay never thought of that brand. Also never thought of not toning. Thank you Lisa also while your here- best tinted moisturiser? Another product I want but tried the nivea one and no7 with terrible results. What do you think? Sorry I have no one in rl to ask these questions. Will trundle off to Boots to check olay out. Was also thinking of nivea. I will go and investigate thank you very much all
