All saints no return policy

I bought a dress from all saints which in the shop I liked but in my usual indecisive manner wasn't really sure about it when I got it home, at £90 (can't believe I paid that for a dress, have never spent so much, had a moment of madness!!)think that its a lot of money to keep a "think I like it but not sure" dress. Anyway took it back to all saints only then did I see in small print on the counter of the very dimly lit shop the sign that says no returns if its unwanted only refunds if faulty. I've ended up with a credit note. I;ve never experienced this in all my years of retail therapy. Is it so unreasonable to return an item, with labels, receipt, a week later from when it was purchased, in original bag, not worn only tried on and not expect refund? Or am I being too fussy?!!

It's the law- they aren't obliged to give you your money back just because you have changed your mind. Sign or no sign.

Shops do not have to refund you just because you change your mind. Its only their goodwill.

but because 99% of clothes shops will refund it was not an unreasonable assumption to make

I bet you can find something else you would like form there...bag/ t shirt?

Yes, we've all been spoilt by the 'buy it and see' approach which has prevailed over the last few years, but it's still a shock when you come across it.

I still have a £99 LK Bennet voucher from a dress I bought in their outlet store last summer - overpriced polyester frock, anyone?

I agree we have been spoiled by the refund. Reckon I will use the vouchers, just smarting a bit!

There are a few other Shops with that same policy. Karen millen use to( they may have changed it). I think they do it to make more money, although it puts me off buying because I am indecisive and I am sure they having fairground mirrors in their shops to make you look thinner

I think the rule is that if you buy it online, they have to refund you, even if you just don't like it - distance selling, but if you go into the shop they don't.

maybe the way to go is to buy it online if you're not sure
