I want something casual but chic/elegant at the same time...would quite like something designer as a one time treat, but not anything that would break the bank!

join me in the hunt- what kind of price?
Radley?
Mulberry?
Osprey?
Ri2K?
Oushka?

If I really really liked the bag, I would go up to £300..but trying not to go above that..although tempted!

I like Mulberry and Osprey as they are quite classic but trendy at the same time..also Kate Spade and Anya Hindmarch..

Have found quite a few websites with discounted designer brands but am quite wary of fakes!

What style do you want and is there a colour you particularly like?

Go to Bicester.
There is a Mulberry outlet, a Radley outlet and a Anya Hindmarch outlet....as well as loads of others.

If you're not near Bicester, there are similar outlets all over the UK.

I don't know why but I'm anti Radley...maybe its their dog logo...may love it more if they did a cat logo instead

Agree a trip to Bicester would be good. As well as Mulberry and Anya H, there is also a Tods (wa sin there last week, LOADS of bags), a Jimmy Choo (!), and plenty of others that I have forgotten.

I got a lovely new bag at the weekend - had neither seen nor heard of the brand, Abro, before - www.abrotaschen.de/products/indetail/bags Beautiful leather, nicely finished inside - I'm delighted with it. Can't find any on-line stockists but you might have more luck. Something else to look at for ideas anyway.

pijc the primrose hill one doesn;t have all the dog bits hanging off which is why its nice!
sorry to all the radley fans out there but i can;t help but associate radley with women in thier late 40's early 50's of a certain type. i.e my mother, 55 and with a good sized collection of them, we call her hyacinth after hyacinth bucket as shes so particualr about everything.

Ted Baker bags are lovely and around your price range (available in John Lewis and their own shops). Also, Reiss do some lovely ones. Have you looked at Donna Karan too? Available in House of Fraser (and probably elsewhere too). Her DKNY range has some nice, slouchy bags at around that price. Happy Shopping! Oh, and look on netaporte.com(their sale / outlet section is fab!)

Silversixpence ... for once I bought in a shop as opposed to on-line however here's a link to their website www.rojoshoes.co.uk/ although the bags aren't on-line. A phonecall might be the way to go - they had quite a few by that manufacturer.

I love this Jigsaw bag and I never shop there normally. It's beautiful, lots of handy sections, great colour.

Silversixpence, that last bag is lovely. Have you seen it in real life, so to speak?

It's a lovely shade of purple on my laptop, but the website says it's red.

yes it was in the concession at John Lewis, in both colours. I personally liked the blue more, but that's probably cos I wore purple to death last winter. It's just a bit out of my budget, but maybe not for someone else
