Not impressed with new hair...how to complain

I had my hair chemically straightened last week and was happy enough at the time with re result. After blowdrying she straightened it and advised me not to wash for 3 days.

In the initial consulation I was told because of my layers it would not be poker straight and my layers may need to be flicked under with the straighters. Thats fine I said. I also thought that some days it may be nice to have a bit of movement.

Day two woke up and hair lovely.Quick brush and looking ok. Fab I thought.

Day three. Again ok but starting to look a bit wavy and in need of a wash.

Day four washed hair and blow dried. Not very staight at all and quite wavy but thought maybe my hair blowing technique.

Day five washed again and still looking crap.

I know there are different systems and she said it wasnt the harshest ones available and the cream was only on 10mins. My friend however says her was on an hour with a different system.

The salon opens again tomorrow and I know I need to go and see them but what shall I say? They never promised poker straight hair but surely for the amount it cost should look better than this.

I'm assuming it was expensive.

I think that you should go in, after a normal wash and be polite but reasonably assertive and tell them that you are obviously disappointed, you accepted what they said about layers possibly needing to be flicked under but it clearly needs rather more than that and what could they suggest? (I think you need to decided beforehand whether you are prepared to undergo more treatment or whether you want a refund - I think they would probably offer the former unless they are totally unreasonable but you might have more of a fight for the latter)

Hi Bellissima.

Its was £75 which to me is alot of money. If necessary I am prepared to have more treatment but I am worried about the condition of my hair. I previously had very shiny glossy hair which I was prepared to damage slightly for something that only needs doing once a year ( which seemed better than daily straightening to make my head look less like a bush!)

Doesnt help that the stylist cut about 2 inches off either which means the curl/wave is more likely to return.

The other factor is the time. I would need to arrange childcare for my son as Im a lone parent... just a pain really! Will see what they say tomorrow.

Thank you

£75 IS a lot of money for something that hasn't worked.

Good luck! Ahem, whilst being incredibly polite at all times, obviously, (like all Mners) it might help if you pick a not-so-busy-they-can-ignore-you moment but a busy-enough-that-they-will-want-to-appease-you-before-other-customers-notice moment.
